I'm going to have to disagree with you on "Star Trek TMP". This is not because I'm an old-school Trekkie (which I am

), but because you need to see Robert Wise's director's cut, which is available on DVD. It is
this version which is the authoritative version, not the unspeakable mess that was originally released in theatres and on video (which I agree was dreadful).
"A.I." had many problems, mainly that it was way too long. Also, it was supposed to be a Stanley Kubrick project, but it got taken over by Spielberg after Kubrick's death. Too many cooks etc etc.
I certainly agree about the silly and pointless re-make of "The Wicker Man", but the original version was also problematic, in spite of good performances by Edward Woodward and Christopher Lee.
I absolutely agree about the re-make of "The Omen"-- why, WHY,
WHY was this done???
