So eh how many episodes are shot in advance. I am curious about the well faring she is talking about. It´s nice she is trying to reassure her fans. I recall Amber trying to do the same, so I would not be reassured myself until she gives more details.

Yeah, you know as long as Olga's happy. I am sorry for all the lianca fans and what they are going through. I remember it all too well.

I haven't been watching since things went wonky between Lena and Bianca, but I'm still sorry about Olga leaving, just for the people who were still hoping that Lena and Bianca would have a nice, long relationship.

For Olga, though, I'm very happy for her. AMC wasn't giving her shit to do and I'm glad she's moving onto something where she'll be getting actual screentime. Good for her. I hope that works out well for her. She deserves it.

I have been very disappointed with this whole storyline thus far(as if I have made this a big secret). The Cambias murder was lame and OFCOURSE neither Bianca or Babe could have their babies in hospitals.....all soap babies have to be born in isolated cabins.....having made the above complaints....what Kendall has to tell Bianca today.....lets just leave that open-ended and see how they handle that

How did Lena leave the show? I haven't been watching, so I'm kind of in the dark.

Thanks in advance,

I read somewhere that Olga got a part in a British TV series. Ostensibly her character, Lena, is supposed to come back to America in a few months after her mother passes away in Poland (terminally ill) and reunite w/ Bianca forever. I actually saw the ep where Lena gets the bad news, has to tell Binks, and they end up kissing (the 1st I actually saw them kiss on the show); then Bianca tells Maggie about it, and Mags gets this interesting look on her face, as if she was secretly happy cause now they can be a couple, even though she just told some guy she'd move in w/ him.

Since British shows don't run very long it's possible that Olga {as Lena} could come back and we could possibly have a lesbian luuuuuuuv triangle. :eyebrow

Thanks for the clarification. :) I have not been paying attention to this show other than what gets posted in this thread, but now I am curious again. If they kissed can I assume they are still/again officially a couple? If that is so then Bianca getting it on with Maggie would be very tacky and out of character for Bianca, if poor Lena is off to Europe mourning her mother Bianca would not hit the sack with someone else. The Lena coming back thing sounds like a ploy to keep the Lena/Bianca fans just interested enough to keep them watching and at the same teasing the Maggie/Bianca fans enough to keep them watching as well.

Maybe Lena will come back, but I doubt very much that Olga will ever be returning to that show. I wouldn't anyway. It's a great relief that Olga is gone. I hadn't been watching anyway but now I don't even care what is going on. It's wonderful.

In the new Soap Opera Weekly Brian Frons says that he doesn't think the audience cares so much about Bianca having a relationship as much as getting back her baby .He says that he doesn't think the audience was ready to see a gay relationship but every woman can relate to the pain of a mother missing a child. And you'll be thrilled to know according to Frons that Bianca has now transcended her sexuality and become an everywoman. Plus there's lots more BAM coming up.Good for Olga for taking a job on a real show on a real network.

:rolleyes Always late to the party...I suck.

I just spent days and days catching up on AMC stuff (downloading clips and reading spoilers and such). No one's posted here for a while, so I may be alone here, but I'm reading some encouraging things about this month's eps. Now that the whole baby-swap storyline is coming to a head and being resolved, I'm hoping there'll be some time for BAM. I didn't really know anything about Lianca- tried to watch but it got so dragged out- but I'm excited about the romantic potential between Bianca and Maggie. :kiss2 They've set that aside for the baby angle for too long. Time for smooches and making out!

Really? Which ones? I wish I got them around here...

A litlle bit different, aren't they? ;)

In fact, the biggest hit there today is one that has a lesbian couple among the main characters. They're just starting their relationship and everybody's saying great things about the way it's going.

Oh, I've been keeping up with Senhora do destino. I read about their lesbian couple and I sure don't get them around here either. But, the internet is a wonderful, wonderful thing and I've been able to watch their scenes. Google translate and my spanish have helped me understand a bit of what is going on but I sure don't understand everything. That's them in my avatar :D and they're really doing a wonderful job with them.

Old article from AfterEllen.com:

Quote:
SOAPS LOVE THE LESBIANS

The long-running Australian soap Neighbours (which is also popular in the U.K.), will introduce a lesbian high school student at the end of August--the first lesbian character in its 20-year history--and in Brazil, a lesbian romance is heating up between two young women on the new soap Senhora do Destino (Lady of Destiny). Meanwhile, on the American soap All My Children, a lesbian romance is heating up between no one, as usual.

It's no surprise to me that overseas, we can see more progress on lesbian portrayals. Like with gay marriage, the porgress is somewhere that's not the US mired in "medieval" and bigotted "values". Here's hoping the spanish soaps from latin america catch the wave as I can catch and understand those on my local channels.

I don´t follow Dutch soaps, except for the first two seasons of "Costa". One of the characters was a lesbian with a long term girlfriend. The actress portraying her is quite a busy lady and decided to leave the show so in season 2 she got written out, but she did not get killed off, instead she went out with a lovely wedding with both of them dressed in big traditional white wedding dresses and riding off into the proverbial sunset. It was sweet.

There's lots of spoilers for the show and Bianca and Maggie during sweeps. Right now I have no idea how it all works out. Search for the spoilers -- they should be easy to find...

...but there's major news concerning the future of the show, and it made me post here this morning (stay away if you're spoiler-free)!

From Cynopsis:

In a story unusual even for a soap opera, ABC's All My Children will introduce a transgender character who is beginning to make the transition from a man into a woman. The character, a flamboyant rock star known as Zarf, kisses the lesbian character Bianca and much drama ensues with the storyline beginning this Thursday. The soap opera brought in the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) organization and several transgenders to consult on building the Zarf character. Jeffrey Carlson will play the part.

I believe Eden came back in Oct 06 and the Liz (Maggie) came back Jan 15, 2007 and her (Liz/Maggie) last air date is Feb 7th.

I really just can't find words for what the writers of this show are doing not only the character of Bianca, but what they have do to BAM. I have been along time BAMmer and to see what they are doing to this realtionship as well as the friendship is just upsetting to say the least. Then to have them doing this completely appauling job with the TG storyline. It's like they really didn't even try and do any REAL research on this. It's like they just said "hey let's have a man say he is a woman on the inside and that he is a lesbian in love with Bianca". I really believe they could have had a great story with this TG storyline on thier hands had they done it the correct way. Just like they could of had and still can have the telling of a great love story with BAM.

I don't know if anyone else on this board has been watching, but I would like to know what you guys think about all of this.
