Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!

This show has had some ups and downs, for sure. It's been okay, lately, though I can't say I'm sad Jmmy Fallon is gone.

Love the heck out of Tina Fey. I really loved watching her part in the summer medley this past show.

The classic episodes are some of the best, and I think Gilda Radner is probably my favorite person out of those. She just had so many characters and they were so memorable. I wish E! would start showing those again.

Ahh, for Emily Litella and Roseanne Roseannadanna at the Weekend Update desk annoying the heck out of Jane Curtin.

I started watching SNL in the early 90s. Around that time of Dana Carvey, Chris Farley, Phil Hartman, Mike Myers, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, Adam Sandler, David Spade and Victoria Jackson.

They had some really funny shows back then. I don' think it's nearly as funny as it once was, but they still have some pretty good shows now and then.

The best reason to watch now...Tina Fey :heart

I am SO with you on that Kathy! If fact I saw a re-run with Kelsey Grammer, Adam Sandler and Chris Farley over the weekend. It was great!

Gilda Radner is my all time favorite. A coworker and I years ago would take our lunch break on the grave shift and watch the best of eps. Then spend the rest of the shift quoting them over the intercom. We drove everyone nuts with it. Man I miss that women. Roseanne Roseannadanna and her little tangents were the best. In fact, I think I will look for it on DVD.

Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch are leaving SNL. Total bummer. Now I can't get my Tina fix from the weekend update.

Head writer Tina Fey, regular Rachel Dratch leave 'Saturday Night Live' for new series '30 Rock'

Tina Fey is leaving the anchor chair at "Saturday Night Live."

Fey says she's quitting the show after six seasons as head writer and co-anchor of the "Weekend Update" fake news segment to focus on her new NBC prime-time series, "30 Rock," which debuts Oct. 11.

"I'm out of the fake news business now," Fey told the Television Critics Association's summer meeting Saturday.

She announced her "SNL" departure on Friday night's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

"If you're asking if I'm happy about it, no," said Lorne Michaels, executive producer of "30 Rock" and "SNL." "Tina disappearing is a huge hole in the writing staff."

Michaels said various individuals and duos would be tested in September to decide who will replace Fey on the "Weekend Update" segment.

Also leaving "SNL" is regular Rachel Dratch, who plays a sketch actress on Fey's new sitcom about a fictional late-night show.

Fey, 36, first joined "SNL" as a writer in 1997 and became head writer in 1999.

She is writing, starring and executive producer of her new show.

"I'm going to go nuts," she said Saturday. "I do not understand the train that is about to hit me. We're trying to get as much done in the writers' room now before we start and I tried to gather a staff of writers who are experienced so they can proceed when I'm on the set."

"30 Rock" also stars Alec Baldwin and former "SNL" regular Tracy Morgan.

She'll be sorely missed. But I actually prefer MadTV.

Now if she was going to that show, that would rock.

I've actually seen an advance dvd of the 30 Rock pilot since I have a friend who works in a firm that buys a lot of ad-time on tv here, and it's pretty good. Certainly funnier than the much-hyped Sorkin show that has a similar theme. I will really miss her on Weekend Update though. I always knew I could tune in a little after midnight on Saturday and get a laugh or two. Without her it could be a pretty grim year for SNL.
