Back to the Future Trilogy

HEY, I went through everything and I didn't see a post about this. If there is and I ran completely over it, I am sorry.

Back To The Future
This is my favorite film trilogy. The second one, where he goes to 2015, is my Favorite Movie Ever! I was wondering if anyone else felt the same way about these great movies.

I like the first one best, the third one next and second one last. It a time travel story so causality does not have to be linear. I really like the visual pun in the first movie with the pair -of-docs.
Have you read "the flight of the horse" by Larry Nivens, a group of stories about a time traveling agent of the U.N..? I think it would be a universe that willow and tara would like, though i am not sure how big the shrimp are.

I agree about the excellent quality of the first film. As someone old enough to remember the era depicted, I got a real kick out of some of the jokes--the "super service" at the gas station, the dismay of the fountain guy when Marty asks for a "Pepsi Free", Lea Thompson concluding that his name is "Calvin", and one of my all-time favorite bits of movie dialogue:

Doc: If you're from the future, who's the President?
Marty: Reagan. Ronald Reagan is the President.
[long pause]
Doc: Ronald Reagan? The ACTOR???? And I suppose Jerry Lewis is the Vice President! :lol :lol :lol

I love this because it underlines how absurd this notion would have been in the 1950s. (Don't get me started about how someone as dimwitted as "Dubya" would never even have been a viable candidate in, say, 1956...)

There were also cute things in the 2nd film, and in the "Western" film.

Since we're recommending other "time-travel" stories, one should definitely investigate Robert Heinlein's "All You Zombies" (considered by some connoisseurs to be the best "time-travel" story of them all) and the excellent film "12 Monkeys":).

I lost count of how many times I saw the first movie, it ranks as an all time favourite. As for time travel stories, well Simon Hawke's 'Time Patrol' is one of the most memorable.
