since i don't want to be the cause of ms emms' pouts, i think i can squeeze in this one... i was experimenting with watercolors and this is what i came up with... this is my version of the one i found from a card while browsing a bookstore...

Image

again, this piece i drew on an ordinary paper (well, i couldn't really afford those fancy drawing books) with ordinary tube watercolors (coz they were cost-effective enough).

tell me guys what you think of my atttempt at watercolor... i hope you like it, too.

Oh wow, those are amazing! I am sooo beyond amazed, cause I couldn't paint my way out of a paper bag; watercolors are especially hard, because one has to have a controlled lack of control (which is kinda a contradiction) to succeed.

I really love the colors; blues and greens really give it a sense of impending rain, while at the same time the birds and lighting suggest a sunny day's in full swing.

I love the way you've executed perspective in this piece with the line of trees in the background there just enough to give it that feel of depth. Wonderful and really very good!

I love the way you painted the trees and were able to keep that three dimensional feel to them, which is hard to do with watercolors because one tends to want to blend everything together into this soft blurred mass of paint and water (which is not the correct way to go about things :lol ) But you were able to keep the integrity of the piece, which really shows your talent and ability.

I think these pieces look professional. If fact, If I saw them on the street, I'd buy one. Then I'd take it home and have it professionally framed and hang it on the wall. :-D

Really, really very good.

Thank you for posting right away instead of making us (and by "us" I mean "me" ) wait any longer. :x

Wow! These are all gorgeous! :clap

Now, I suck with art terminology, so all I can really say is I like 'em! lol. You have a very unique style, and I'm loving the bears!

(I, too, have a Teddy collection, including a very gay, purple unicorn called Malcom...)

So, I say ditto to everything Emms said (thanks, Emms...hehe... :lol ...).

Love them all, and I hope to see more! :bounce

hey you guys... thanks for dropping by.

the lovely ms emms... how was your five days off? (i saw your post in the happy feeling thread hope you don't mind)... anyways, i still do not know how to make a coherent response to your feedback... even after a couple of days, i'm still left overwhelmed!... maybe a simple thank you in this intance will suffice... what i said before *looks up the thread* still applies here.

dreamlover... thank you thank you... i hope the next ones i post will not disappoint.

gabbles... i suck in art terms as well, so you don't have to worry there. i'm glad you like my work coz i love your work too! we may have chosen different crafts, but we both bare our hearts in each one of our works, and because of that, there is a certain kinship we share... again, i'm glad you like them... i hope you like the future ones as well...

hey guys, the next one will be up in a couple days... you can revisit ms. emms' wonderful art in meantime!

have a great day/night!

SJ... thanks i'm glad you like it...

hey, i'm back with a new drawing of mine... this one is another of my pencil color drawings... this was my first attempt at recreating from a real picture (... this was the front cover of my mom's cookbook (that she rarely uses but not really relevant here :lol )... i really tried to capture some of the realism of the original picture and make it look more 3-D... i hope i did even a little (i can just do so much with pencil color and yet to learn more)!

If I'm not mistaking, when I first saw it, I got confused coz I don't have any idea why there's an egg rolls on your thread, then when I read through it I saw that you've copied it from a cooking book! So, I think I'm right it's yummy egg rolls!? You're drawing is almost real. Another great job ! :applause

Definitely like the new drawing a lot! The little girl is so sweet in her jeans and yellow sweatshirt, looking out at the ocean...gazing across the great expanse of forever with her trusty dog. What could be more perfect, as a child, than a day at the beach with your best friend? Nothing.

I love this piece...it's so simply done. It's wonderful.

The shadings and colours are really nice and although I don't know much about the technical side of art I do know what I like/love and that is not only your lastest artwork but all of them.... I check them out everyitme you post a new one but most of the time I'm too lazy to leave feedback, sorry! Anyway, great stuff! :clap

Oh wow, Tarebear! I really like this new drawing. Where did you get the idea for this one? it's so different. I keep staring at it as if there's some cosmic message I should be learning from it. (even though I know you said it's nothing serious...but I can't help it, there's something about it that totally hits me as serious. ) And my only theory so far is: in a garden of many one seed might grow.

I love the colors and the shading of the Apple (At least I'm pretty sure it's an apple...it is right?) is totally correct. And the colors you've used, here are seriously perfection. I love things that are neither over-done nor under-done...and you've hit that place here, with this drawing. there are just enough elements to make it interesting but not so many to make it distracting. And like I said before...you are an absolute genius with color pencils. Did you know there are classes just for color pencils? You wouldn't need them.

I absolutely love it...and just like your previous work (the one you did with the trees and the park bench) I would totally buy this.

Sweetie...I have a bit of advice for you...I think you should save this drawing to a disk, take it down to your local print shop and get some fabulous prints made.

Happy new year to you, girly.

xoxo

Hey Cecile! :)

I've been meaning to roam this place for a while now, just got the chance, and I'm so glad I did! I love your painting, it's simple and adorable. I like this one, it was very 3D! But my two defenite favorites were the trees and benches, and the one from the cookbook! I love that type of pictures. They represent something so daily on one hand, but simply beautiful on the other. thanks so much for putting this here! I't absolutely lovely.
Looking forward to seeing more! :D

hiya guys!!! so how was your new year's celebration? it was an uneventful one for me... just stayed home and bonded with mom... i still have all my fingers intact so yey to that (it's a tradition in my country to open the year with a bang and the louder tha bang, the more prosperous the year... bang meaning firecrackers... and every year many of my fellowmen [filipinos] get wounded or worse, lose their fingers... ouch!) anyways, on to the replies...

katie... hey, thanks for stopping by...i've done it sometime ago, but i've put off posting it coz i thought it might seem too weird... now, i'm glad i finally did! hey, no need to worry about not being knowledge girl when it comes to the technical aspects of art, no one's gonna be giving you any tests here :p i'm glad you like not just this one but all of them :blush and don't worry about the lazy part (coz i'm like that as well sometimes hehe), just knowing you check out my drawings is enough for me (but it's great to get feedbacks as well... constructive or otherwise)... thanks again for the kind words!

ms emms...again, it's such an honor to hear from you... everytime i see a feedback from you, i just can't seem to stop myself from getting awestruck! you made me speechless again reading your post... i am delighted and humbled by your words... thank you is not nearly enough i think! ETA: Yeah that's an apple! :lol

SJ... thanks sj as always for stopping by and leaving a message!

truck_driving_magic_mamaoh hi there!i'm glad you like them... yes i seem to draw the cutesy ones and tend to lean away from the complicated types... maybe i can challenge myself to go outside the box and draw something totally different.... hmmm... anyways, i hope you like my future posts as well.

again, thanks you guys for the feedback... i hope you have a good day... happy three kings everyone!

i will be posting something new in a couple of days... it's not actually new, i would like to post some of the things i drew way back when i started getting interested in the whole drawing thing and found that i may have a knack for it... i was around 12 i think... as you can tell, i really didn't start young at all and between school and stuff didn't get the chance to delve into it more... even now...

ok... that's it... i'll be posting it soon!
