Poetry Is The Mind

Postby WTF » Mon Jan 02, 2006 6:01 pm

Just some poetry....

Internal Chaos

I radiate darkness from within
I only want the pain never to begin
But I fear I have no choice as my mind starts to spin
I wonder what the wheel will stop on as I grit my teeth and grin
Everyday is never the same
Maybe I will fall from grace or maybe live in fame
I am the human tornado as the debris flies from me
I am the whirlwind of the sea that will not let me be free
People keep their distance as they know is safe
I still wait for that one person to brave into my space
To jump into the lava with me so together we can rise
But who dares to take that leap?
Only someone with a strong true heart to keep
I lay naked on a cold hard rock
As the scorpions around me will flock
I feel the sting pierce my skin
I feel the demon as it wants in
Blood and pain he will feed from to grow strong
And I know sitting back and doing nothing is wrong
What's the use in yelling when no one will hear?
What's the use in telling when no one will come near?
As always I will face this fight alone
It's okay because having help would feel completely wrong
As I stand on the rock that cuts my feet
Blood trickles down my body as my demon creeps
Do I look the other way or do I greet?

Hey Tara!

I must say, that was beautiful. The honesty of the words, the image. It had an inner rhythm, and the rhymes were so fitting!
I loved how at first, you started with making a fact, a negative one- Darkness and pain as beginning point. Through the poem, there are the options of your life- fame or misery? the darkness becomes uncertain. you touch the fear in feelings I totally identify with.. the whirlwind image was lovely. by the end, the dilemma arises - there's a choice: how to react to the darkness, which now it's external, instead of the internal darkness of the start. There's the voice of logic - "what's the use in yelling..", and there's the heart. and there's the open option for each of us to choose, or speculate, or even just think about it. It's a lovely poem. Good Job! hope we'll see some more from ya. :)
