Poetry & Lyrics

Postby stringsrock » Sun Jul 27, 2008 9:10 pm

Here's some poetry and lyrics I've written within the past year. It's not all that great since I haven't revised anything, but I just wrote what I felt at the time. I hope you enjoy.

I feel the numbness,
taking my soul.
This empty void
takes my self control.
If I can’t feel,
then these empty tears are right.
My hope is failing,
the light is gone.
I keep on calling,
but hear no one.
Where are you love?
Please save my soul tonight.

The lonely flower, crowned
in winter’s bitter frost,
has not the power to will
the breath of spring.
To bring her tender kisses,
melting the fragile beauty.
The flower must wait
through this cold, dark sorrow.
Trusting that spring
comes forth soon.
Holding to faith
her rose will bloom.

Sun creeps in slowly,
softly, through the curtain.
Caressing soft curves,
an exposed canvas of beauty.
Fingers follow, moving with
a delicate flow, lightly
running through creamy waters
of skin. Hot breath guides
the lips to taste.
Breathing in to savor
what no flower could touch.
Your eyes are almost mine
as I capture your sensuous
lips. I give my love.

It’s a cold, lonely night
on the edge of tomorrow.
Maybe the sun will shine bright,
dry up my sorrow.
Yet through these blood-red words
I find myself stronger.
I wait always for you,
to show me the way home.

My road is looking brighter,
A light within my view.
Hope has shown her face again,
A beautiful renew.
The doubt is seeming farther,
Cold before my spring.
The sun warming my frozen heart,
With summer to start anew.

"Truth" - song lyric

She’s lying bare,
she can’t deny these
thoughts inside her head.
She’s breaking down,
‘cause every lie she
told herself was wrong.

I don’t know if I can,
keep the truth from slipping
right on through my tongue.
With these words I’m hiding,
but the truth is slipping
right on through my tongue.

She begs her soul,
to please relinquish.
She’s just holding on.
She wants to feel free,
from this burden.
She only wants her love.

I don’t know if I can,
keep the truth from slipping
right on through my tongue.
With these words I’m hiding,
but the truth is slipping
right on through my tongue.

Her cloudy eyes
confide what is real
in her heart.
But still she hides,
disguised by the rain,
so torn apart.
