Re: we're at the hotel

-------------------

We talked about Marti being reluctant to talk till Joss said his peace. It was a fight to get the article. Joss' people didn't want to allow Joss to talk because they were afraid the gay press was going to nail him. He finally talked after Marti talked. Marti was near tears when talking about the reaction, (yeah I know).

---------------------

Ok this is the part I found interesting. Joss's people didn't want him to talk. Shows a few things. 1. We've had an impact. 2. Perhaps those above Joss (FOX, UPN) realize ME have handled the whole thing badly and are trying to stop more damage. 3. Marti talked before Joss, she was willing to talk, he wasn't. What do you think that says about the relationships inside ME and to W/T?

And I'm sure I remember Andy Mangels, I think he used to run a comic news column on the net a few years back. Good column if I remember to.

Once again, thanks for the report, Xita. It's nice to know we're so well represented. Marti was close to tears :rolleyes . And Joss's people were nervous about him doing the article.

Big W/T announcement from Joss, huh? Finding it hard to get too excited about that one. When Joss talks about W/T he has this tendency to, oh I dunno... LIE! But it should be mildly interesting. But you're right, Xita... *so* not worth missing Amber for ;)

Have a great time today. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Yeah I am not very hopeful about any announcement. They could have apologized in The Advocate had they wanted and yet all we got were half assed comments that maybe we might have a possible point.

waking up is hard to do

Postby xita » Sat Aug 03, 2002 11:47 am

Getting ready to head back to the con and hopefully meet a few more kittens. I was pretty disappointed with Nancy's attitude, but I didn't know it was her till later. Rally is the one who observed the t-shirt encounter. While I talked to Andy she just sat there looking uncomfortable.

Last night Sass and Novelty_act joined us for dinner and drink at Hennessey's.

And yes my shirt got me hit on... awww yeah. I am in the bathroom and this girl is all smiles. She's looking at the shirt and says oh I like your shirt and I smile thank you. Apparently, it reminded her of her fluffy has two mommies shirt. A little chit chat and as we leave she makes sure to invite me to go to the local gay bar, The Flame, I said maybe and I winked.

While at the restaurant we found out Sass is a professional food smasher! Though Enid saw it more as performance art :p Outsiders may just see it as a small girl smashing food with her elbow. On the way out of the place, Novelty_act was asking the bouncer for a place where we could buy booze, and got into a conversation with him. Apparently he thought she'd make a good cop, something about her forcefulness :shock

We finished our evening by playing a movie on my laptop at Rally's suite. We watched zombie porn, otherwise known as Resident Evil. Then much rest was needed and now are ready to tackle the day. It should be interesting. I'll get back to you later!

Oh and the theme of the day yesterday, "liking the fruitiness." :grin

Thanks for the update, xita. It sounds like you guys are having a great time!

Poop on Nancy if she looked uncomfortable.

I bet Amber will be absolutely thrilled to see you again. She knows who the "good guys" are! (The Kittens, of course.:grin )

And as for Joss, hmmm. It would be a hoot if you get to see him again and tell him it was you that he spoke to who said "Thanks" .Then you could tell him what you think of him now.(Well, I'm just kidding about that part,"what you think of him now." I don't want you to get kicked out of SDCC).

Tee hee. You can tell him that you are the Big Kahuna of Kittendom, that you are the "Big Bad" of "The Kitten, The Witches and The Bad Wardrobe." You can tell him that by "creating" Willow and Tara, he is in a way responsible for this board

What goes around comes around.

Full circle.

Karma's a bitch, isn't it? :grin

SDCC reports

Postby Willowlicious » Sat Aug 03, 2002 12:36 pm

Thanks so much Xita for the reports! It's gotta be hard to tear yourself away from all the booze and lapdances long enough to check in with us, but you're a trooper. :)

Interesting that Joss's "people" didn't want him to talk to the gay press. So someone in Joss's circle realizes he's in the midst of a PR nightmare. Someone should spell that out to Joss. As for Marti's tears...nothing like the pain of someone who has the power to change a situation, but won't. Someone who had every opportunity to do the right thing--and still could--but refuses. Then again, it must suck knowing that she just brought a baby into a world full of TV producers that can read thousands of letters from hurting, troubled, scared kids, be moved to tears by them, and then choose to hurt them more. Cold, scary world. Welcome Baby Noxon!

And Nancy Holder...whatever.

Amy

Thanks for your post, drlloyd11. I was thinking of doing the old "bumpety bump" a few minutes ago to ask,but I chickened out.

I wonder if we (i.e. the Kittens attending SDCC) made Joss sweat,as well as piss him off some more. I wonder if Rally got to give him presents I wonder if we let know Amber know again how loved she is. I wonder if Joss is going to rewrite Season 7 and resurrect our Tara to be with our Willow.

God Lord, I'm turning this into a soap opera.(As if this isn't one already).

Janice, who is almost holding her breath with anticipation!

Or quite simply that our girls are lushes. Which frankly fits if you've been to chat. ;) Not that I have room to talk. Then again folks there was that gays in comics panel later on. Perhaps they stayed on for that. And drank during it.

The Buffy security people never did figure out who I was. "Didn't you have a beard before?" "You rode to a shoot on your bicycle once, right?" "Have you always worn glasses?"

Oh, yeah. The old gays in comics panel. That's with Andy Mangels, isn't it?? Maybe they're giving him new info on more stupid Jossism's.

Or maybe they need bail.

Or maybe they forgot about us.:(

I really need a life. I need another drink. :grin

This is much worse that when I used to wait for Missy Good fanfic updates. Much, much worse.(I'm rocking back and forth in my chari now).

So, Bob. Now you know how it feels, old buddy. You were (and still are) a very important part of the "Kittenverse," spoilers, essays, pictures, getting kicked out of comic stores, etc.

Me. :)

Although I'm not sure why. All I'm expecting are some more snarky, painful, dismissive comments from Joss. Sigh.

But reports from meeting Amber are always fun, so I'll just pay attention to those and try to tune Joss out.

So Joss has people, huh? Where were these people when he was sticking his foot in his mouth so many times before. They’ve been down on the job if they’re supposed to keep him from pissing people off.

And Marti’s upset? Join the club, babe.

I'm sitting up too.

I just want to know anything, if indeed there is anything at all to know.

At least I feel like I'm in really good company.

Well, it's only 12:40am Sunday morning here In Atlanta.

Maybe Amber is partying with the Kittens??? (joking here, but who knows?)

Re: SDCC reports

Postby 4WiccanLuv » Sun Aug 04, 2002 12:44 am

OMG! I drove down to S.D. from L.A. with a friend. My mission: Meet Amber.

She's absolutely adorable. Two things struck me. First, I just can't believe how tiny she is. Second, she is genuinely a natural beauty, no make-up, nothing, and the woman is stunning.

So there I am, standing in front of the amazing Amber, I stuck my shaking hand out, handing her my pics and comic, she flashed her smile and I froze, at a loss for words. All I could say was, "hi". Pretty impressive, huh? So then she asks, who she should sign them to. After a few seconds of awestruck silence, I was nudged (kinda hard) by my friend in an attempt to snap me out of the trance like state I found myself in. With my verbal skills still MIA, all I could do was point to my badge with my name on it. So then Amber signed all of my items and I thankfully recaptured my voice in time to ask for a hug. I. GOT. IT. Woo Hoo! She's a sweetheart!

The Con was packed, a whole lotta people. Lots of lines, lots of waiting, but it was worth every moment.

Mission accomplished!
