Willow and Tara: Seasons 4 - 6

Fave moment and Did Willow tell?

Postby bronwyn » Mon Feb 10, 2003 6:34 pm

My fave moments...this is like picking your children. I'll go with:

"I am you know."

"What?"

"Yours"

I also love it when Willow calls Tara "my girl" and is so tender to her after she had her brain sucked by Glory.

Quote:
TARA

It was my grandma's, I think. Found

it a long time ago in my attic.

(then, shyly)

I... I want you to have it.

This quote was mentioned in connection to Tara's mother, but I just wanted to salute it on its own.

As I've said before, I was spoiled about "Willow and Tara" prior to Hush, but that I didn't "get" Tara at first. The Doll's Eye Crystal scene (in The 'I' in Team) was only the second time (second ep) we'd seen Tara, and it definitely changed how I viewed them. I remember exclaiming to my TV "Awwww, she's wooing her!" So sweet. :love (Plus, Tara was wearing a baseball shirt: I'm a sucker for a girl in a baseball shirt . . . especially when filled out as nicely as Amber does :drool )

From that scene forward, I was cheering Tara on (no small feat when I want Willow for myself ;) ), and knew---quite apart from spoilers---that Willow would be powerless before Tara-wiles.:heart

GG Just cause I want to use this emoticon (It's the "Real Me" ) :read Out

Actually it was the third one (after a new man). But yes, how could you not love Tara then, with her baseball shirt. SO adorable. You know something I kind of missed after the initial eps is that back then Tara looked like such the baby dyke/college student. She morphed into this witchy/stevie nicks girl, but I always missed the jeans, sweatshirt, baseball shirt wearing baby dyke she once was.

Me too! (The "Tara baby dyke" thang. However, that bodice in OMWF certainly shows her natural femme versatility! And how . . . :thud )

OK, feeling like an idiot now: I said to myself "Self, Tara wasn't in Doomed or A New Man." Hello, floating rose?

GG Serves me right for pontificating. But the "Doll's Eye" scene is :love -melting in whatever ep it was in. :heart Out

funny. . .

Postby sprhrgrl » Thu Apr 03, 2003 2:18 am

It's funny because I think that my favourite Willow/Tara moment isn't really a W/T moment. . . It's the one in Seeing Red when Dawn realizes that they're Back:
TARA: Oh. Hey.

D: (starting to smile, delighted) Oh! You and-

TARA: (smiling) Uh, that's my cue to put some clothes on. (turning back toward the

bedroom)

DAWN: No! No no no! I'm totally not here! You guys, you do whatever you want. Um ...

I'll go watch TV. (Giggles) Downstairs, really loud! In the basement. Where I can't

hear anything. (Squeals) Oh my god!

Dawn rushes off giggling excitedly. Tara and Willow grin at each other, head back

toward the bedroom. Dawn reappears almost immediately.

DAWN: I love you guys!
. . . I think I like it so much because Dawn illustrates the squidgey ball of glee that I was for that unspoiled moment.

It's weird because I hadn't watched the old Season 4 eps in ages, and then I downloaded a clip where Tara is wearing jeans and a baseball shirt (I think it was the scene in "Hush" where Tara tells Willow otherwise after she declares herself to be "nothing special"!) a couple of months ago and realised how much her wardrobe changed. I kind of liked her old style (though I will not argue against red or black leather coats).

Well, I actually prefer the Season Five witchy/Stevie Nicks look, but that's just my opinion.

My favourite moments are the dance in 'Family', the dance in 'Crush' and 'I'm Under Your Spell'.

(Do you see a pattern or is it just me?)

Lol, yeah, she did change quite a lot but for better most of the time as she grew into herself. It just wouldn't be right for her to wear the baseball shirt and jeans during all that happened in S5.

cuteness

Postby Minn » Thu Apr 03, 2003 11:42 am

I maybe crazy but another of my favorite moments is in family when spike hits Tara and willow gets all excited and Tara says very cutely "he hurt my nose" and before that when willow defends her right away "she just did a spell that went wrong" but most my favorite scenes were already mentioned so I thought I would ad this one

Yup, the Family moments where's she's just SO relieved not to be a demon.. damn she's just so cute..

I don't know why, the season 5 episode Out Of My Mind, the willowhand scene.. her clothes, her hairs.. that's TARA to me.. more than leather-tara, more than baseball-shirt-tara, more than ugly-dresses-that-are-so-cute-on-her-Tara. and her hair are more blonde in that ep. than in the others.. I'll always stay speechless and drooling when I see that episode.. maybe it's just me :p

Christmas Dinner in "The Body"

Postby Gatito Grande » Sun May 11, 2003 11:25 pm

I debated putting this here or on the "My Girl" thread. I also am really hoping it's not off-topic, period.

"Christmas Dinner in The Body": I just love this scene. The whole Willow "I had too much nog" and Tara's "Want me to rub your belly? Willow loves it when I . . . stop explaining things." God, just too cute for words!

The thing about this scene is . . . :confused It's certainly not *obviously* "ahistoric" the way the Icecream Truck scene is (and all the other dreams in Restless, no matter how wonderful Nekkid Sappho-Covered Tara-Back is!). But what is the "Christmas Dinner," exactly?

It could be a flashback to an earlier, "canon" event. It could be a memory of such an event (specifically, Buffy's memory: like she's flashing back to her last *perfect moment* while in the midst of extreme crisis).

It's just that, logically, I have difficulty imagining that Joyce was playing S5 Christmas hostess (and, despite the fact of Dawn's "Reality-Revisionism," it still really only *could* be S5's Christmas), considering the state of her health at the time. But hey, holiday remissions do happen I suppose (that, or "the world's best placebo" as Joyce put it before).

So, whady'all think? I'm gonna go out on a limb, and assume you love this scene like I do. Do you think that Christmas 2000 looked like this at Casa Summers? (FWIW, I really wish we'd had a whole ep based upon *that*)

GG *Totally adore* Tara's chinon---can happily :drool imagine Willow "un-doing" it---after belly-rubbing had made the nog-effect go away! Out

Well I do love that scene, the whole scene, theres some really great dialogue between all the characters present.

If you were to give a canon event time, it would probably have to have been the previous christmas which I guess would have been a given memory with dawn in it from the monks assuming that "Real Me" was not before Christmas, otherwise it may have been a real memory, if you get my drift.

I remember hearing in the episode comentary by JW on the DVD that the scene was used so you wouldn't have the credits rolling while we could see Joyce's body, so when the scene went back to the dead Joyce, the opening credits had finished.
