That's a perfect description.

In fact I agree with everything you said.

Hey, that sounds just like me, except for me being a woman, brilliant, hilarious and deeply talented, but I am completely nuts.

I did not laugh as much this time around, but that's only natural, I was watching it alone this time, it was the second time I saw it and I spent more time concentrating on the images this time. I am sure it won't be the last time I see it though. This really is a movie to be watched more than once, because you inevitably miss things first time around from laughing too loudly. :p

In all fairness I must admit I had partaken of some "herbal refreshment" before I watched it the second time...but I don't think that is any reflection on Amber...maybe it just made the non-linear bizarro vibe easier to get in tune with? >: pride:tara

Herbal refreshment? You mean like tea? My, I must admit that a cup of chamomile with a touch of honey would go nicely with this film :)

Gosh, sheila wt. Thanks. You are really fast, as you beat me to both posts-the one about the Chance script as well as the Wolf Event being delayed due to Amber doing two films back to back.

The internet is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but Amber and Little Willow have made the script for Chance available on the Chance website! Yah! They want to stress that there should be no reproduction of the script in any way, shape or form! Very reasonable i think!

Edited because i just noticed that it was already posted!! Duh Laura!! *Must check previous posts*

It is very nice of Amber to make the script available online for those who aren't lucky enough to have a copy of it or the movie itself. It's a really good and funny read.

CHANCE at Eksperimento Film and Video Festival

Postby daydreamer » Wed Mar 10, 2004 9:08 pm

I'm mostly a lurker, so I'm not really sure if I'm doing this the right way. :shy Mods, please feel free to make changes or transfer my post to its proper thread. Thank you.:)

I have great news for Filipino Kittens.:applause :applause :applause

CHANCE will have its Exclusive Philippine Premiere this Friday, March 12, 2004, 3-5 p.m. at at the Eksperimento Film and Video Festival. Admission is free. I read from the festival's official website that Amber Benson requested that no fees be collected for the Philippine Premiere of her film CHANCE. So, in effect, Benson Entertainment is sponsoring the event. I just LOVE Amber Benson.:heart

For schedule and venue information, see below:

3:00pm to 5:00pm - FREE SCREENING

CHANCE by Amber Benson (USA) 90 min

CHANCE is a screwball romantic comedy about one nutty girl’s search for Mr. Right in all the wrong places. Using a non-linear framework, CHANCE explores the inner workings of a young woman’s mind through a patchwork of flashbacks, straight to camera monologue and complete surreality.

Screening Venue [Main Festival]:

Tanghalang Leandro V. Locsin

[Leandro V. Locsin Theater]

633 General Luna Street,

Intramuros, Manila

All screening will be on Digital Video projected on a big screen via digital projection. The 200-seater theater is fully air-conditioned and is equipped with digital surround sound. No reserved-seating. The theater operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

I found this in the Essence of Amber Forum. You can check out the thread there for more information. You can also go the festival's website www.geocities.com/eksperimento/. (Mods, I don't know how to do linking.:shy I need your help. Thanks.:) )

Amber.:heart *sigh* Amber.:heart *sigh* Amber.:heart

Sorry. I've been indulging myself with daydreams of Amber since the festival.:p I bought a DVD copy, so I've seen the movie a lot of times but seeing Amber with her beauty magnified on the big screen was a much better, if totally new, viewing experience than just watching her on TV.:)

The theater wasn't filled to capacity. But it was understandable since Eksperimento is a relatively new, and hence, still an obscure film festival here in the Philippines. It didn't help that the film showing was held in a work day and still within the regular working hours. Also, end-of-semester finals week for most students. (And, buffy fans are few in number here.) So, even though a lot of buffy fans expressed interest in seeing the film, given the short notice, they weren't able to fit the movie into their schedule.:(

Most of those who watched the movie are general buffy fans, who made it their commitment to support anyone and anything connected to buffy. Some were exclusively Aly fans. And only a number of us were hardcore Amber fans. The rest are non-buffy fans who were invited by those who were.

Most saw the movie for the first time. And the reactions were simply great. Throughout the movie, everyone was just laughing. Truth is, part of my enjoyment was seeing the movie with other people. Feedback was great. too. Of course, that didn't come as a surprise. Everybody enjoyed the movie, although they said the movie should have been longer.

There wasn't much time to interact with other buffy fans because most still had to go back to work. But numbers and emails were exchanged. So, even though I had to take a half-day leave from office, it was worth it 'cause I was able to meet new people and, of course, I couldn't let the chance pass of seeing our Amber on a much bigger screen.:heart

Let's change that verdamnt phrase from the baseball movie to:

"Is this Heaven?"

"No, it's bigscreen "Chance""

Florida needs to be cradled in the bosom of Amberholism after the hurricanes of last year.

Chance, Simon, Milton, and Chance's parents will soothe their tired brows and give them pause to reflect upon the dead bugs.:luv

I am thrilled that Amber and Diane will be in Ft. Lauderdale for the theatrical release of "Chance". Florida is the next state over from me, but it might as well be Mars. The cruel irony of life has struck once again, I have graduated from school and I have the time but no money, I start my new job on the 14th and then will have money but no time. What gives??? Why does life have to be so cruel? It's great that Amber will be on the Southeast coast, damn it my timing is bad. Maybe she will come back to the South at some point. Keeping my fuzzy paws crossed.

Re: Amber Premiere Report

Postby RoseWitch » Sun Mar 13, 2005 6:58 pm

Hey everyone...got home this morning at 5 am from driving back from Ft. Lauderdale. It was such a great time meeting new Amber fans, seeing Amber again, and seeing her as a person.

I learned this weekend Amber is like all of us...a normal person with fears and nervousness and stuff, but she's still a sweetie and caring person as we all know. I also learned she's a goofy, sometimes clumsy and a very funny person.

Chance has to be one of the best movies I've seen recently, honestly. It was so funny and a very good movie. And from the Q&A's i sat in on, I learned was that Chance movie is the wackyness and thoughts in Ambers head. Which I can now see, but great thoughts. And that she pattened Simon, James Marsters character, after herself. And that the Chance character was after her friends, who thought they could be the guys, but really couldn't, cause they're emotions kept getting in the way.

Amber being the great person she is, stood around talking with us, everyone who showed up to see the movie, before and after the showing, and even walked with us in the busy street down to the bar for the party afterward. She's not like some snotty stars thinking they're better then the fans, but i can say most certainly Ambers not like that. She even stayed up tell 1am on Friday and even tell like midnight on Sat. She was tired both days, but was nice enough to stay up and talk with all of us. Take numerous pictures and very kindly give everyone hugs goodbye like we're all her very good friends:)

Well, if you want to know anymore...ask me and I'll rack my head for the answers. And oh you! here's the few photos I took. I was being nice and not giving her a headache with the shots. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/witchy_rose2002/my_photos

Well, i better get some rest...still tired..and found out i'm sick from the doctor. Hoping i didn't get anyone else sick too. hehe..laters..

Rosewitch,

Those are nice photos especially the one of Amber striking the Jedi pose amid the stormtroopers.

Glad you enjoyed "Chance" and were lucky enough to see it on the bigscreen.

Amberholism has found itself into your life and you have engaged in a soul gaze with the agent adorabunny herself, Amber Benson.

She is that rare entertainer who knows the value of a symbiotic relationship with her fans.
