Postby funkyasian » Sun Mar 09, 2003 6:31 pm

ummm...okay, i'm going to ask this in hopes that nobody laughs at my attempt...

my gf (whom i met on this board :blush ) and i are going to be celebrating our one year anniversary some time right after moonlight. she just happens to be a HUGE amber fan...so where i am going with this...well, i was wonder whether some incredibly nice and wonderful kitten would be able to get an autograph for me so i can give it to her for our anniversary. i had wanted to go myself, but...well, money's tight right now since i'm in the process of buying a house for me and my honey to share.

so...would anyone be able to do this favor for me? if you possibly would even remotely consider it, please email me...asian_chic@hotmail.com - please, please please help me be romantic just this once?! thanks...

SlayerWeb.de article on Chance

Postby kajo 2000 » Sun Mar 16, 2003 8:35 am

SlayerWeb.de has an article on their site promoting Chance:

www.slayerhelp.com/news/viewalone.php?newsid=567

The article is written in German - here is a translation of one excerpt:

"Chance is an independent film, it shows the talent of Amber not only as an actress but also as a director, a writer and a producer. At the time of the film's production, she was only 24 years old."

The article also gives a basic outline of the film's storyline, the full cast list, how the film was financed (partly by fan donations and online auctions) and the various venues at which the film has been screened so far.

It mentions the forthcoming screening at California State University, Sacramento on Tuesday, March 25 too.

There are also a couple of downloadable clips available but I'm not sure if they are the same ones that we've already seen.

Slayerweb.de's site gets a lot of hits and I've already seen links to this article posted at several Buffy-related boards. It seems to be generating a lot of interest among fans who are enquiring as to where and when they can get to see this film.

Edited to add: SlayerWeb.de also has an interview with Amber regarding Chance:

kajo - the downloadable clips are the same two that have been on the net for some months now, so nothing new. One is the unofficial trailer and the other one is the clip with Wilton and his bugs. :)

ETA: Just thought I'd mention it so people won't have to download the same clip twice.

You're welcome kajo. :)

Chance Screening Update

Postby xita » Fri Mar 21, 2003 9:39 pm

Announcements for kittens going to the Sacramento Screening:

For any kittens going to the screening, here is a link to the campus map.

http://www.csus.edu/scripts/asp/map/map.asp

The Union is the building NEXT to the "H" shaped library. The screening is the redwood room. That's on the first floor.

Also, unofficially, The seating is on a first come first serve basis. You should COME EARLY. The room only holds a little over 300. It's an intimate setting and should be really nice for the Q & A.

Hey all, this was sent to me by the organizer of the screening.

I know nothing beyond this.

--

UPDATE*** Film Screening: "Chance", an independent film, written,

directed and starring Amber Benson, "Tara Maclay" from TV's Buffy

the Vampire Slayer. Amber Benson will NOT be in attendance. She

sends her regrets, but is unable to attend due to a family illness.

We apologize for any inconvinence this may cause. The film will be

screening as scheduled, and one of the producers will try to attend

if she can clear her schedule. If the producer can make

arrangements, she will host a question and answer period following

the screening that will focus on the film and women in the film

industry. The screening is free.

7:00 pm, Redwood Room, University Union If you have any questions,

contact wrc@csus.edu or call at (916) 278-7388.

I apologize for any incontinence this may cause. The film will be screening

Oh dear lord, that is an amusing typo alright. Hee. No offense intended to the person who wrote it, the brain can be a funny instrument and I am quite sure I have made worse and less amusing typos.

I too hope whoever that family member is, that he/she will be ok.

That is a funny typo.

I think it's incredibly considerate of Amber as well as the organizers to let folks know in advance that Amber will be unable to attend. I think most people will be quite understanding.

Amber is such a class act.

I, too, hope that all is well in the Amber family.

Anyway, I hope everyone who is going will still enjoy it and, you know, not be incontinent. :dance

And I hope everything's all right for Amber, too. Hey, maybe someone in her family has incontinence and that was the problem? :stink

My girlfriend and I had a great time at the screening tonight. We are both very shy, so we didn't venture out and meet any other kittens, but it was still a great time. The movie was hilarious. Amber is so talented and so cute.

It's too bad to hear that her mom is sick. I hope she gets better well and that it isn't too serious. I don't mind waiting to meet Amber either. I will meet her someday I'm sure.

It was nice of Nate Barlow (Milton the neighbor in the movie and co-producer) to come and hold the Q&A after the movie. Most of the questions were things that people had obiviously prepared to ask Amber, so he couldn't really answer them all, but it was still nice of him to try. He said that Amber called him and asked him to cover for her and that she felt bad that she couldn't make it.

The women in film topic wasn't really covered at all. It lost its focus with a man holding the talk. He did a good job at answering the questions, but it is something that is hard to prepare for at the last minute. Anyway, it was very nice of him to fill in and I wish him the best of success in the future.

We had a great time. I hope Amber gets a distribution deal so that more people can see this movie. I can't wait to see new projects from her.

Thanks to all for the reports of the screening! Can not WAIT to see this movie...! Too bad they can't do a screening of it at Moonlight Rising, eh?!

That is too bad that Amber's mom is in the hospital. :( :( :(

I hope she is on the mend and feeling better by the minute. I will keep the Benson family in my thoughts and prayers and be sending "get well, be strong and positive vibes" to them all.
