Annie,

**Raises hand** I know, I know! :) The name of the episode was, "Bygones." That kiss still gives me a rumbly tummy. :drool

Sandy Was Also

Postby daddykat » Wed Nov 20, 2002 7:01 pm

in the ep. where everyone found out Mark died. (Which was reurn, apropriately enough, the same week S****G R*d was rerun; if the afterlife has a waiting room I'm sure certain characters had a conversation I would have loved to sit in on.) Apparently K&S had some plans so Kerrie was going to bail on the emrgency-room-staff-remebering-Mark-over-a-few-drinks thing, and Sandy (who barely knew Mark) had to practically drag Kerrie to the Hawaiian themed bar where the get-together was.

Don't worry about it. It's okay. I'll have to check out some sites and see if I can find the transcript. You wouldn't happen to remember what the name of the episode was, would you?

Thanks, amor! :kiss

The new season just started here in the UK last night and it's off to a good start, pity the blade missed 'Rockets' head ;)

How far into the season do we have to wait for the sprog storyline?

It all sounds kinda sudden but I think that maybe after the dealings with the 'monkeybugs' and Rockets mishap then she's thinking life's too short and just go for it.

Just MHO.

So sad about Kerry's baby. Is it just me or did Maura Tierney look hot in that ep? I really liked her hair like that. She seemed very supportive and concerned for Kerry too.

I'm still in shock everytime Halei is on screen with all the weight she's lost.

You know, despite everything that's happened, I really did think this storyline would end happily instead of the death and utter sadness that usually follow TV lesbians around. :sigh When will I learn? Poor Kerry. Why is it always my fave characters that have to suffer the most?

I now expect Sandy to receive critical injuries in a fire so that Kerry will have to watch her lover die in the ER while she's helpless to save her.

Well, ER premiered this week too. I think it's in it's 50th year or something, I don't know. I stopped really liking anyone on it a couple years ago, but, I am a creature of habit, so I tuned in. Sigh.

They had a new med student, of course, and she turned out to be the only reason I kept it on for the entire hour.

Parminder Nagra played her. I like her a lot. Heh. I have to see Bend It Like Beckham now.

ER? I still love Dr. Lewis. I keep watching out of habit as well.

Re: ER

Postby urnofosiris » Sat Sep 27, 2003 9:33 am

I am glad this thread got bumped, because I have an ER rant dying to get out. I have been watching early season reruns and yesterday there was an episode in which an MTF transsexual was wheeled into the ER after a car accident. Benton and Carter are examining her when of course they discover some male anatomy. Asshole Benton immediately addresses her as Mr. instead of the previous Ms. and tells Carter to suture her wounds as he walks out. Carter reacts with a downright scared sounding "by myself?" Like yeah, the lady is going to jump your scrawny bones right there or yeah, it is contagious Carter, when you wake up tomorrow you will experience the undeniable desire to start wearing a dress.

While he is silently suturing her she starts talking to him, clearly aware of his extreme discomfort. She tells him about a lady friend who she got along really well until she told her about herself and then said friend got up and left and never talked to her again. She told Carter how people tell her she is disgusting and how maybe they are right and she is disgusting.

Carter responds by asking her to turn her head, that is all. He does not say anything. Nothing. See, I can understand how he could be startled at first and even uncomfortable, afraid to say the wrong thing, but there was no excuse for his silence, that was adding insult to injury. The lady of course jumps off the roof of the hospital later. Carter tries to stop her because yeah, we've got to be shown how sensitive and caring Carter really is.

I hate Carter, I hate Benton, in fact, except for Dr.Anspaugh there has not been one male doctor on ER that I ever liked. All of them are/were whiny, bratty, self centered assholes. Basically they are like some doctors I know. I continue to watch as I am drawn to medical shows for some odd reason. The cast is great, even when I don't like the characters they portray, I totally believe in them as doctors or nurses. Fortunately I do like the nurses and most of the female doctors, specifically Dr.Lewis & Dr.Elizabeth (forgot her last name). We are a season behind here and I hope the new one will start soon. I also hope that I will be able to like Carrie Weaver again as much as I once did, but I am afraid they have assassinated her character too thoroughly for that to happen.

Elizabeth Mitchell on 'The Lyon's Den'

Postby tyche » Wed Oct 08, 2003 12:06 pm

I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in the 'Obscure Actresses' thread - but she's not really obscure, so I'm putting it here. Anyway, the lovely Elizabeth Mitchell is now a regular on Rob Lowe's new show, 'The Lyon's Den'. I did see the pilot, and unfortunately the show isn't very good - Rob Lowe's character is oh-so-saintly, which makes things kind of boring - and the writing isn't that great either. Elizabeth Mitchell's character is supposed to be sympathetic (she's an ex-alcoholic), but she's sleeping with her arsehole of a boss, and she's effectively a double agent trying to dig up dirt on Rob Lowe's character. I probably wouldn't watch the show again if it wasn't for Elizabeth Mitchell, but since she's in it and I really like her, I'll probably tune in occasionally.

Postby HOPE REIGNS » Thu Oct 30, 2003 10:07 pm

ok, this week's episode of ER was quite interesting. A new character arrived played by Linda Cardellini (of the Scooby Doo movie-VELMA). She came in looking like a hottie, with an attitude and personality. I am really liking the idea of this new addition. She is playing a nurse, Abby's replacement, so she is now a regular and not going anywhere any time soon. Although I haven't missed a show in ages, I thought it was starting to miss something and miss Cardellini just may be the itch I was looking to scratch. :applause :clap

Ummm sorry, went a little off track there. Anyway, just thought some of you kittens may find this as interesting.

Have a great Halloween everyone!! :geek

Postby Cicca » Fri Oct 31, 2003 1:41 am

:grin I agree! She's a breath of fresh air in there. What an entrance!

I'm also loving Parminder Nagra. She's fantastic. I still love Dr. Lewis.

And they're doing a great job of writing for "Doctors You Love To Hate." Zowie! Oh wait, I hate Frank too, and he's not a doc.

And yes, Linda Cardellini. Keep her around please! It's great to have interesting and competent characters.

Parmider Nagra

Postby BytrSuite » Fri Oct 31, 2003 2:02 am

Hmm, I do not like Luka. Didn't they already do a storyline with him being the "compassionate" one? I think ER ran out of ideas several years ago.

I am still watching for Parminder. Hee, I just really like her. I'm sure we'll be treated to a very special episode where she finally stands up for herself in front of everyone. I keep getting the impression that the writers don't really know what they want to do with her character.

Were the racial and ethnic slurs always such a big part of this show? It seems like they are in every ep and then some lately.

Linda Cardellini was cool. I like her too. Her character seems to be Abby v2 or something though.

I hope that guy who walked off is gone for good.

I don't usually like Luka, but at least he was competent last night. He's been the new Doug Ross, but nowhere near as charming, interesting or sexy. Nope.

It'll be nice when they figure out what's up with Parminder Nagra's character. She did have an adorable spunky moment last night.

Grumpy old man: "Hey, this one actually speaks English"

CutieParminder (all cheerful): "Yes, better than you in fact!"

heh! Excellent!

I think there have been racial bits all along, but it was particularly awful this week. You can always count on Frank to be an utter asshole. Romano sometimes has glimmers of humanity to make him likeable, but I'm not liking him these days. Yes, dealing with a prosthesis where you used to have an arm is going to be challenging and stressful. It does not mean that you have free rein with bigotry.

As to the male charcaters, I can't help but usually remember Mark Greene in a positive light, most of the time. Two of my fave charcaters leaving prime time TV the same week, at least on the reruns...but I don't want to go there.

Okay evrybody who goes to the hospital is there for certain claendar dates, nad all shows premiere on a sepcific date, but it's a personal coincidence, _ER_ and _Chicago Hope_ both premiered while I was in the hospital myself due to minor complications after a seemingly routine appendectomy. (So did _Friends_ but except for that premiere I don't think I've ever really watched that.)

My future ex-wife always hated Kerrie; when I mentioned I always liked the character her response was "you would."

Haven't seen the last couple seasons so haevn't seen Luka's decline. I think Goran Visnjic is a fine actor and, while the accent will amke it tought ot do in Hollywood, he needs to look at stretching out a bit. Maybe a TV biopic about Bela Lugosi, with Emma Caulfield palying Lillian?

Out of the blue, as is usual for ER we get an episode that has Sandy giving birth to a baby boy. Who of course after a difficult delivery isn't breathing...

However, for once things seem to work out ok and Henry lives.

As the last time anyone saw Sandy she was dead set against being the one to be pregnant there must have been some very persuasive talking by Kerry.!!!

Laura Innes also directs the episode.

That's lame, the only lesbian anything seen of kerry's life is ... a baby, in what more than 9 months? Lame, lame lame. If this had been any of the other doctors, we would have seen how every month of the pregnancy was affecting their lives as doctors and people they may even have had to take a soul searching trip to the congo..

it's a good thing i am only watching it for Parminder, I blame kathy.
