of course, but I meant in terms of the world in general, fanfic is not canon sadly :( And at least Willow and Tara were given a chance to be actually together on the show, for the world to see...unlike Maggie and Bianca thus far...not that the world cant access the internet, but you know what I mean :)

Help Make Daytime GAY

Postby Reileen » Mon Nov 11, 2002 4:21 pm

From SOAP OPERA DIGEST’s November 5, 2002 issue...Riot Girls...an interview with Eden Riegel (Bianca) and Elizabeth Hendrickson (Maggie)...

Digest: So many fans want a romance between Maggie and Bianca--and its not every day that viewers ask to see a gay couple.

Eden: We want it too. I think Liz would agree it would be an amazing storyline. It would be an important storyline.

Liz: Definitely.

.

.

Eden: I would feel so safe playing a scene of intimacy with Liz. Not that we have any say!

Liz: If we had any say in it, it would have happened a long time ago.

Eden: But, that's not to say that it won't happen, and when it does, I think the show has proven itself capable of doing the storyline in a very sensitive and positive way. Nobody could do it better than All My Children.

Help us to help Bianca and Maggie become daytime television’s next SUPER COUPLE!

Bianca wasn't on at all last week. The poor girl needs her own story line. If they are going to have her have a more than friends relationship with Maggie they need to get on with it. I don't think they will though.

If you go here and click on the ALL MY CHILDREN's Masquerade Ball java thing you'll get a slide show that has a pic of Bianca and one of Maggie. So they both should be on this week. Bianca is freakin' stunning. And from today's show, anyone they might have gone with seems to be otherwise occupied, so I have to guess that they'll show up together. Heh.

I don't know what to make of this news, but I was just reading the new Soap Opera Digest (Dec 3) issue, and in the late-breaking news (casting about) section it says, "All My Children is reportedly on the lookout for a (male) love interest for Maggie."

I don't know if this will pan out or just a rumor, but I makes me wonder if the writers were ever really serious about a Bianca/Maggie pairing in the first place. And even if the writers do want this pairing, I am curious if the network would ever let this pairing to truly happen. I guess time will tell.

I'm getting the feeling that they are testing the waters. The gals did a photoshot for SOD that Soapcenter ran a piece on. In the piece Liz is seen looking at photos of the two and says to the camera "we are so cute together they have to make us a couple." Normally this wouldn't give me any hope outside an actor noticing the potential advantages of taking part in a ground breaking storyline however Soapnet is run by ABC/Disney. I would think they wouldv'e editted out such a comment if there was no change in hell.

I wonder if all the thoughts about getting Maggie a BF isn't a way to see how strong the opposition is to this idea. If the producers/network see a ratings gold mine they aren't going to hide from it. Because the one thing about any commerical endeveor is that the all mighty green is what drives decisions.

There have already been small changes since the new head of daytime has been brought in like only giving tiny spoilers to sites like tvguide.com.

I think that if those folks who want to see this happen do a good job of fighting the fight we might get a Maggie/Bianca love thang in 2003.

So join the fight. The great fan base here has really been an inspiration to me personally as I have jumped into the fan movement to see this couple become a reality.

If the idea of a site focusing on lesbian issues on tv becomes a reality I think this is one story that should be brought to the attention of people looking for a positive teen role model character. Whether or nor Maggie and Bianca work out Bianca is a greta role model.

BAM fans unite

Postby chelehel74 » Sun Dec 01, 2002 4:28 pm

Now I realize many on this board might not be soap fans but there has been a big fan campaign push on the boards for the two actors that play Bianca and Maggie on AMC to see them made a couple.

Since the Kitten's have made such an important impact this year with the donation drive for Trevor and the press on the outcome of Willow and Tara we at the BAM board thought we could ask for your support.

We have started another phase in a fan campaign to get TPTB to notice the chemistry between these two great female character. We were even named Soap Opera Digest's Fan of the Week Campaign (December 10, 2002)...

Hear is the article:

"This week, devotees are talking about ALL MY CHILDREN's Maggie and Bianca. Pine Valley faithfuls want their favorite non-couple to explore romance. "They have more chemistry together than any other AMC pair, except maybe David and Anna," raved one, "It is time to put them front-and-center and tell their story." Added another viewer in a letter to Brian Frons, ABC's president of daytime, "I want to be very clear: We want a love story between Bianca and Maggie! We have been waiting patiently for it since Elizabeth [Hendrickson, Maggie] came back last year. The groundwork has been carefully laid; we have had the pleasure of watching Bianca and Maggie's relationship grow with subtle and not so subtle words and action."

So for those of you who support a lesbian couple in daytime could you drop by the BAM fan petition at:

http://www.ipetitions.com/campaigns/BAM/

and lend support...

For those of you who are curious about the show or the campaign feel free to drop us all a line at either:

www.elizabeth-hendrickson.net/

the fan forum

and:

We are fun group and many folks I also notice as Kittens.

Thanks for your time listening to my ramblings...

Re: ...

Postby chelehel74 » Tue Dec 10, 2002 12:08 am

I've been away on vacation and caught your question.

The boathouse has become the set they send the girls to have heart to heart talks. Almost a year to the day Bianca discovered the JR (different actor) in bed with the girl she was in love with, Frankie. That night Frankie was murdered and they did the long drawn out soap court thing with Bianca's mother accused of the crime. She was eventually cleared and we learned Frankie's aunt (who was a crazy, rich, nut job) had expressed being angry at her niece and so the bodyguard did Frankie in.

Then the same actress who's contract was up was brought back in to play Frankie's twin Maggie. TPTB noticed the talent Liz had.

So the boathouse was all about Bianca having seen JR in bed with her sister and the memories that brought up in her about what she has and hasn't been missing in the last year.

It was also a glaring example of the chemistry these two great actresses have. And an expression of the same frustrations the fan base has over Bianca being the "not dating but gay character on the show". Heck Will Truman on Will and Grace has dated more then Bianca and he's a sitcom character.

I have to say if they are just playing the fan base with this stuff I will be beyond pissed.

I actually would prefer her follow Anna's footsteps into Law then David's into being a doctor if only to get her out of that stupid candy striper outfit.

I also think anytime they give Anna and Maggie screen time there is a great mother/daughter kind of energy between the two.

granted I would rather see Maggie/Bianca scenes but Maggie working with Anna should be pretty great too.i

Postby VampNo12 » Tue Dec 17, 2002 6:22 pm

I don't know if anyone saw the latest news on the Maggie/Bianca pairing, but unfortunately it's not good news. Just reading Soap Opera Weekly (Dec. 24 edition), and there is an article about "AMC Couples You Want to See...But Won't". The article discusses two couples Bianca/Maggie and Adam/Brooke.

The article interviews executive producer Dadario Burke, and I will type the relevant info in regards to Binks and Maggie.

"We are going to bring that to a conclusion, and I hope that will be satisfying to the audience", says Burke, who recognizes fans are cheering on this unlikely pairing. About their popularity, she remarks, "I am surprised and I'm not surprised. Eden Riegel (Bianca) has done a wonderful job. We brought Elizabeth Hendrickson on short-term as Frankie, and we loved her so much we brought her back on as a new character." Look for someone new to claim Maggie's heart."

Well it appears that AMC knows how popular they would be as a couple, but apparently won't be swayed in that direction, sigh I guess the rumor about pairing Maggie with a new love interest (male) is true.

Well of course, for all of their prior talk, Bianca will always be the token lesbian who has no love life while everyone around her is humping up a storm. I feel sorry for the actresses though, as I believe they really wanted and pushed this..Here's hoping( but not holding my breath) that the soap mags will take them to task for this.

I watched the early part of Bianca's saga all the way up to Laura. You know I just can't watch anymore. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I knew after Sarah and the Laura that they didn't want a gf for Bianca. And I even watched the Frankie thing but I didn't expect them to get together. Baby steps I guess. My opinion now though is that they either write out Bianca or give her a gf, it's getting offensive.

Postby LuvinElizabeth » Fri Dec 20, 2002 2:29 pm

...Eden is going to be on All My Children for another season thankfully! even though she hasn`t been on the show for a while Maggie is getting a storyline in which Bianca will prolly be included. Here are some articles from the Soap Mags, as posted at Elizabeth Hendrickson`s message board..

--------------------------

"Give Maggie a Storyline" SOD (Soap Opera Digest)

In need, Indeed:Maggie Stone,All My Children.

Current Affairs:Right now Maggie's primary function in Pine Valley is as the only morally upright memeber in her twisted family.(Anna doesn't coutn she married in) She spends the bul of her time challenging her ethics deprived cousins,David and Trey,to make her proud of them.Besides her relatives,Maggie interacts with prescious few other folks outside whom she meets during the course of her candy-striping job.But Maggie does enjoy a close,if maddeningly slow moving, friendship with Bianca-who you may have heard, happens to be a lesbian.

Strength of her character:We don't know all that much about Maggie, but what we do know,we like:She's a cute smart,funny,good-hearted addition to the Pine Valley canvas.Elizabeth Hendrickson is a charmer, and her onscreen chemistry with Eden Riegel (Bianca) has fans clamoring to see their characters' close connection turn into love.

Potential Potholes:We suspect that Maggie's storyline limbo is owed in large part to the fact that she does click best with Bianca.(Her flirtation this summer with Tim went nowhere fast-and so did he) Our mail indicates that viewers are ready for a romance between these likable gals, but that may mean they would resist seeing Maggie in an alternate pairing.

Might we suggest:We would love for AMC leap on the powerhouse romantic potential of Maggie and Bianca. But if the show is determined not to go in that direction,we'd rather see Maggie better defined as an individual-which could be accomplished by bringing her deadbeat Mom to town-than rushing into a heterosexual coupling.

"BEST NONCOUPLE-BIANCA AND MAGGIE,AMC" SOD (Soap Opera Digest)

It's been a long dry spell for love in Pine Valley, the town that once served as home base for legendary teen sweeties like Phil/Tara and Angie/Jesse.But this year, almost by accident,AMC struck a chord with the tender tale of Maggie and Bianca, two outsiders who sate one another's desperate thirst for connection.Ironically,it seems that AMC's hesitation to formally pair these two has actually upped their rooting value. While other nascent duos spend more time baring their bodies than their souls,Maggie and Bianca have built their bonds the old-fashioned way:through intimate talks and longing glances. For what on the surface is a magnet for controversy theirs is an unusually traditional courtship-and if OUR MAIL is any indication, viewers are ready for Bainca to have more with her dearest pal than just an unrequited crush.

"AMC's Women Bare All"

Instead of it's annual crystal ball, all my children is treating fans to "what women want" a special episode airing dec.30.

Kendall and Greenlee hold a brainstorming session for their new comapny with Simone,Maggie,Mia and others, who share their hopes and dreams in some rather entertaining ways."We thought we'd try something different this year" explains exec producer Burke, who adds the show might bring back the crystal ball next year."Our young women get together and do a special show of fantasies. It's quite spectacular."

Everything from love to family to career is covered.Simone's dream of being a pulitar prize-winning writer seems a lot easier for her to attain that her finding true love, quips Terri Ivens.MAGGIE'S FANTASY IS ABOUT PROTECTING BIANCA AND FOLLOWING IN HER COUSIN'S FOOTSTEPS,PREVIEWS ELIZABETH HENDRICKSON,IT INVOLVES A LOT OF KICKING AND RUBBER SPANDEX!

For all of you guys that have been helping out with the BAM campaign thank u! the magazines seem to be getting the point, and we hope that the writers will also. The BAM team has done an extraordinary work with trying to get the girls together, and we will keep on doing so until it will happen. Thanx again and please to all of you who don`t know bout this please go to Elizabeth Hendrickson`s board at pub41.ezboard.com/belizab...forum.html or Eden Riegel`s board at pub103.ezboard.com/bedenriegelfanforum ur help is highly appreciated!

Emilia.

Xita -

The team over at BAM are working there butts off trying to get some exposure about the characters and the campaign. My question to you is there still a link on the boards with the original Advocate article about Tara's death? I wanted to pass it along to Wuboo on the BAM board.

Working on the Trevor stuff was a big motivator for my involvement with BAM and a great deal of what was done by the kittens has been a source of inspiration for the BAM gang.

Considering the lack of positive active lesbian role models any strides we can make feels like a success to us.

The soap magazines are starting to discuss it and now we are planning to expand to the gay and lesbian media.

Thanks in advance

Today's (12/29) Episode

Postby UTPromdog » Mon Dec 30, 2002 7:35 pm

Did anyone else catch today's episode? I was watching it and it was all about the girls who formed a company together. As they were trying to come up with a name each one revealed what their fantasy is. Maggie's fantasy was to rescue Bianca from these men who were trying to attack her. Is this a new episode? I thought they were ending the storyline about Maggie and Bianca?
