as for AMC i was sooooooooooooooo impressed when binks told her mom off. not in a told her off off kinda way but she stood up and was like *it's exactly what it looks like* about them being in the room together. but then she just leaves the room? without even a kiss or a hug? it was odd for me to finally have them admit it and then go on about it like nothing. I dont really care for lena and bianca as a couple but i do care for bianca as a character cause no matter how fucked up things are she still looks on the bright side and still hopes for that love.

And I agree with Rane, I was also expecting at least a kiss goodbye when Bianca left. And why did she leave anyway??? Lena had just said the banks were closed, so there was nothing she could do at that moment. Why couldn't they spend more time together then? It's not like they don't have a ton and a half of things to, uh, talk about...

Yep, add me to the list of people wondering why Bianca left. And also to the list of people who thought a whole bunch more smooches were called for. At least twice! I noticed a conspicuous lack of kissing or at least hugging in two or three places. WhatEver!

Having not watched soaps for quite a few years, I have to say that the acting and melodrama was just cracking me up.

And Lena? Oh my hottie. What a gorgeous woman! Her acting sometimes... um... Ok, being positive, I'll say that she has all sorts of room to grow. Which is good!

I got a kick out of Erica asking (not sure of the exact words) "if they resolved their issues to their satisfaction" with Erica's subtle glance to the bed . As for the Lena/Binks pairing I only tuned into the show last week (ie I haven't watched the soap for quite a long time), but what I saw has me intrigued... I certainly thought they had chemistry. And I know Lena is a "shady" character, but what I found telling was Lena saying to Erica that she "would move heaven and earth to protect Binks", as well as saying (to Binks), "I've never stopped for anyone before". Here I think Lena's newfound feelings for Binks is making her want to be a better person. Really their story-line (with the exception of being two women) is typical soap opera... falling in love with the back-drop of secrets (hidden agendas). Thus, I'm hooked enough (although I learned my lesson... I won't get too invested in another couple again) to seeing how this plays out. By the same token it doesn't hurt that Frons (the head of daytime) likes the Lena/Binks pairing.



As for Binks just leaving without a kiss/hug... I too found that a tad jarring. Although, I assumed she was simply happy Lena has decided to stay (her being being satisfied they made progress... they're talking).

As for lack of kissing/touching... I read a spoiler coming up where it basically states "Lena/Binks share another passionate kiss, but Lena then pulls away".

That really is funny. I used to watch the Bold and the Beautiful and I don't recall a single line that made me laugh, the absurdity of the melodrama made me laugh at times but never a line uttered by a character. So the first lesbian kiss on a US soap has happened and the world did not end, the institution of marriage did not crumble at a faster rate than it normally does and the entire underage viewing population did not turn gay. Who would have thought.

I read an article that said Binx would lose her 'celibacy' shortly after the kiss, which in soap opera lingo, means in several weeks..Thye were asking the writers how much they would show. Writers were being very coy, but they did bascially say that you would see the seduction, though most likely, IMO, not an actual love( sex) scene..Check back a couple of pages in this thread and the article is posted there somewhere..

You know what this reminds me of? Did anyone out there ever see Soapdish? A hilarious movie..But at the end, when all hell is breaking loose, and they're on live TV, the director is in the control room and he stands up and says '' at last, DRAMA.''

Actually, y'know, I kind of wanted Binx and Maggie together.. But I gotta tell you, now that've put her with Lena and added the twist that Lena is actually really in love with her, I have to agree with Xita..Putting her with Maggie would have been the story of two girls together, now it's the story of two women together. And I like the fact that it's Bianca's love that is going to redeem Lena. It adds a whole new dimension to the story. Instead of it being about Maggie questioning her sexuality, it's now a story about the power of love. Add to the fact that Lena's got the look when looking at Binx, that their chemistry together rocks, and that is one love scene ( and story) I'm definitely looking forward to..

well they are redeeming lena awfully quick considering she was in bed with that icky michael about a week and a half ago.



that being said -- i am a sucker for love redeeming a character who may not necessarily start out as one of the good people in town. soaps do these stories so well -- so looking forward to plenty of angst when lena finally tells the truth about michael and her involvement -- should be fun!



and eek -- maggie and henry in a love scene -- these two have zero chemistry ...

Yeah, Henry and Maggie have as much chemistry as, oh never mind...I'm a day behind where I live, but I loved it when Bianca asked her mother if she was guilty and then proceeded to list all of the times Erica had broken the law in the past. The look on Erica's face was priceless..

Like I said, I think the chemisry between these two ROCK's. The look on Lena's face when Bianca said she was so drawn to her b/c Lena thinks of her as a woman and not a girl was enough to melt ice..I know much angst is in store, but when those two get together, there are going to be fireworks...

Ugh, I just read (at ABC soapsindepth) the head writers just got axed and will be replaced by Megan McTavish starting May 5. In case anyone doesn't know McTavish lets just say she has quite a reputation for leaving a soap in shambles once she gets her hands on it (ie god I still shudder to remember how she destroyed GH). She was also the head writer for AMC for a time, but in the end she out stayed her welcome... so why are they welcoming her back. Really I never understood the recycling of axed head writers amongst soaps. I mean if he/she wasn't getting the job done at one soap, why should one assume they will succeed at another soap.



Now I'm wondering what McTavish (who seems to favor plots over characters) will do once she gets her hands on the Bianca/Lena story-line? I guess time can only tell, but I hope their story-line doesn't end before it really begins.



Edited to add I never really watched the show with Frankie (and now Maggie) so I don't really have an investment in BAM, but pairing Maggie with Henry is just so wrong. Just watching their scenes together today was quite painful... my god there's no chemistry whatsoever. Hell maybe AMC should do a love triangle with Binks torn between Maggie/Lena... anything is better than poor Henry.

I wouldn't worry too much about a new head writer..The Lena/ Bianca storyline has the support of the president of ABC Daytime and the show's executive producer. That beats a head writer in every hand. Plus I think the reaction has been pretty good so far, they've gotten tons of free and positive publicity and the ratings seem to be up.

Just watched my tapes of yesterday *and* today's episodes back-to-back, and to borrow a phrase...Holy Schnikes, Batman!



My jaw was on the floor during the entire yoga class from yesterday, due to: 1) Jack bled out of a hole in the chest through the whole night and is still alive?? 2) astonishment at how badly that Carlos guy needs a haircut and some intonation; 3) the fact that he is apparently the Jolly Carlos Giant, since all the Fusion girls only come up to about his 10th rib (Lordy, those girls are tiny once you see them standing next to normal people);



(See, I usually FF thru all this other stuff, but since Lena and Bianca were getting all intense and sexy in the background, well...)



and of course, 3) Okay--I've had years of practice now spotting subtext and metaphors for lesbian sex (Flaming O, anyone?), and all I was thinking when they cut back to the steam room, before getting interrupted was, they *so* Did It! Seriously, that scene could have been in a Celluloid Closet coursebook under "How to show a sex scene with plausible deniability"--the little moans, sweaty bare shoulders, Bianca holding the back of her towel closed when she stands up at the end? They SO had sauna sex...woo hoo!



And today's show? Kendall vs. Lena; Lena lunging for Michael's throat, swearing in Polish; the reveal that Lena's mother was in the secret police--dude, this storyline with the three Kane women and all the corporate intrigue is just getting better and better--it so freakin' fantastically soapy.



Again, way back when Lena and Bianca came back from the big Fusion party, flirted very subtly, and Binks wondered how Lena knew some piece of gossip, I had this little flash of...wouldn't it be great if this woman turned out to be a corporate spy, and Bianca caught on and seduced her right out of her own game?



*rubbing hands together in glee* I'm just going to sit back and wait for my little fantasy to come true...

My cable went out for a few minutes so I missed a little bit of the May 1st episode. What happen between Michael telling Lena her mother was alive (cable went out) then cut to Michael and Lena fighting. If anyone could help that would be great.



I so can't believe I'm addicted to a soap again. It's been years, but they sure haven't changed! I love the Lena and Bianca storyline!

I think they basically got into a fight and Lena cussed him out in Polish. Very sexy..then as she was leaving, she asked him if power was all he thought about, he asked what else was there and Lena said LOVE...then she went back to the hospital to be with Binx..

I love how Lena and Bianca are so much in love yet all these outside sources are pulling at them..So much fun and angsty..It just makes the anticipation for them to finally come together that much greater..

Thanks for filling me in. Since Lena said love was the only thing that mattered, makes me wonder about the end of the episode when Bianca asked Lena where they were going. Lena had a very sensual look in her eyes when she took Bianca away. Hmmm....maybe they are going to . Can't wait until I can get home to watch today's episode.

I read that too..But it also said that Lena does not lie to her. Which means that when they consummate their relationship, which they are supposed to do in the next several weeks, it will be with both eyes wide open..

I read somewhere that the ratings have gone up and Lena/Bianca were voted favorite couple at several websites..that bodes well for the keeping them around for awhile.That and the fact that have probably learned their lesson from the Frankie/Elizabeth fiasco..also, this pairing seems pretty popular at BAM, which I think started the ball rolling to begin with..

I should not watch soaps. First I am like poor Kendall. First the rejection by Myrtle and then Erica saying she's not family. I could see poor girl recoiling. I hope she gets back on Erica's good side. And then I am getting all emotional with Jack and Erica. Really someone stop me!





I hope they stretch out lena/bianca as long as possible cause I am really enjoying it. Bianca deserves a relationship and I hope they don't stop it when it barely got started. Either way, still enjoying it. That lena sells me with every longing look like at the door today, very nice.

And yes poor Kendall, originally I told myself I would only watch the Bianca/Lena parts, but now I find myself getting invested in the whole show.
