Bound

Righty, this movie has been talked about in several threads, but I think it deserves a thread of it's own. I think by now all Kittens must have seen it. I was probably one of the last, but I am glad I finally bought this movie. If there is anyone out there who has not seen it, run out and get it. It's rather violent at times, but if that is a problem you can always fast forward from the graphic violent parts to the lesbian gay type lovers parts. That's what I did. :p

Damn, I didn't think anyone would live a 1 1/2 hour run from a videostore, just be happy I didn't say crawl. :p

In my poverty, I've only been able to tape Bound off of regular cable---and natch, my favorite parts are cut. Both are sexual: the toe-curling scene, of course :thud , but also that first scene where Violet invites Corky into her apartment.

So hot! :drool Something like (only seen the movie uncut once) Violet's "I can prove you turn me on" and Corky's disappearing hand. :devilish Then, as shown on FX, Joey Pants' character (Violet's goodfella hubby) walks in, and introduces himself w/ a handshake, which Corky pointedly hesitates in returning! :lol So funny, but you completely miss it if the preceding scene is cut. Aaargh!

Oh well, it's still a great movie . . . and yay, the lesbians don't betray each other in the end. Happy ending, go figure! :rolleyes

GG I saw this movie, uncut, in a classroom of a small Christian college in Central Pennsylvania, that I don't think had a single out student (c. '96). Oh what a lot of squirming was going on in the dark! :p Out

Squirming in the dark, GG? :lol I imagine there are a lot of ways Bound could cause squirming...

Ooh, this is such a great movie, in fact the first I bought on DVD. Although it didn't have that many features, I'd recommend it for the commentary which had the three main actors and the directors commenting on a variety of things which were quite informative.

BB:Hello Xander...and Anya, how is your money?!

A:Fine!Thank you for asking!

What a film! Are you aware though there are two versions? The USA one and the UK version? The beautiful love scene in Corky's bedroom (mattress on the floor!) in the UK one is a touch more graphic.......and Corky twangs the bedsheet off the edge of the bed in her pleasure! I believe that is the only difference in the whole film. I remember seeing "Bound" in the USA with my sweetheart and then us both coming back to the UK and seeing the different version! Happiness is a multi region video or dvd player!!

In my world, the Wachowski Bros rule!! Go Trinty! Who is so like Corky in the Matrix films!

Bound is a classic and it is wonderful as a film on its own even without the lesbian element, but I think that's what gives the tired genre a boost. It's so different to cheer for 2 women to get away with it plus the fact that you know that sheer strength won't save the days, they have to be strong and clever.

I had seen Showgirls and although Elizabeth Berkley was the "star", we all know who stole the show ;)

So when I heard of Bound, I just had to see it. And when I finally saw Gina in it :thud

Bound is one of my favorites, I just love it.

Bound is one of those films that pretty much succeeds in every way. The story, the cast, the atmosphere etc, everything about it was really good.

I have two favourite scenes; the first is the scene where Violet and Corky are talking over the phone and each puts her hand to the wall. It then shows that they are touching the same spot from different sides.

The other is the last scene of the movie. I can't remember if this is exactly what they say, but it's something like this:

CORKY: You know what the difference is between you and me Violet?

VIOLET: No.

CORKY: Neither do I.

I recently looked on imdb for Jennifer Tilly and I was very interested to learn that she named her two cats Corky and Violet.

Loved this movie!! It has all the cool camera moves and cinematic moves the Wachowski brothers became famous for in Matrix and a great love story. Loved it so much that I bought it on widesceen on VHS. This is a film that turns cliches on their head and bust genres IMHO. This was the sort of film that would have been made with Robert Mitchum as the hard boiled con back in the day and it was brilliant to cast it with 2 women. Violet and Corky are great characters: smart, savvy and hot all together. They are on the other side of the law but then so is everyone else in this move. Great stuff!!

I am listening to Jennifer Tilly on the radio right now.

I guess Joe Pantoliano (Ceaser) just grabbed everything from the set of "Bound" and used to decorate his house. He was taking her through a tour going "recognize this, how about this?"

More later.

Mmm, Bound. . .

I have three Bound livejournal icons that I made, you can see them on the 21st row here. . . You'll have to scroll through a bunch of Amber Benson, but I'm sure you guys won't mind. (:

If you want to use them for you livejournal, comment on mine to let me know - I'm sprkid there.

But! Back to Bound! I think there's an "uncut version" on DVD. . . The whole sex scene is beautiful, especially the way it's shot. As well as. . . Other things.

Sigh, Bound. This movie kicks ass. I don't remember being aware that this had lesbians in it when I first rented it. I think I just thought Gina was hot and that was enough. Wow. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the movie. The story just pulled me in and kept me interested. The lesbian sex helped a bit too.

Heh, I own the dvd now, of course.
