Huh: I really don't have a problem w/ what Hedison is doing (maybe you have to have been abandoned by a spouse, as I have, to get this ). It's only if she was doing something that singled this out a gay relationship (that she was saying it was worse to have your spouse stolen by another woman, or something) that I would have a problem.



GG Though I agree that the concept of "alienation of affection" (spouse-stealing) is basically silly. A spouse isn't an object to be stolen: they have free will. But as long as that law is on the books for straight couples, why shouldn't it be applied for a same-sex couple too? Out

The thing is I would hold lesbians up to a higher standard. As lesbians, we kinda have been raised to take care of ourselves. We aren't waiting for the knight in shining armor to make everything better. I don't think for me that would change if all of a sudden I got together with a woman that was rich. I will add that if they had children together that Hedison had to raise, that would be a different story.



And relationships end for a reason, it wasn't likely in really great shape.



Of course legally, yeah use the law. Have a good time. Except the thing against Portia is just damn petty and she needs to get over it.

I would cautiously agree, but most role models are famous, and play by different rules. I can't help but feel that Ellen and Portia getting together feels less like love and more like a strategic corporate merger - with benefits of course. The law for Alex is all well and good, but gives the fundamentalists another "tort law reform" target. Too damn much drama for no added benefit. Kudos to Sara and Ally. May their quiet relationship prove to be one to model.

I think that's the best match for Ellen yet, they look really good together. My friend from college visited me this weekend and we had the same argument. I think if I knew the details I could be judgemental. Otherwise, I wish the best for them.



They didn't arrive at the Golden Globes together but apparently went to the parties together. Here are some big ones at gettyimages, but they aren't as chummy and close as the ones you posted Brian. I'd wondered if Portia was ready to be this out. Since Ellen came out, the gfs kinda come out too. Everyone knew portia was gay but as far as I know only a few clandestine pictures were the actual proof.

Yes, it is from Ferris Bueller, one of the classics. It is actually a mix of two scenes, one where the extremely boring teacher is asking questions to his spaced out students and keeps saying anyone? anyone? anyone? before he finally answers his own question and the other is his role call where he keeps saying Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? because Ferris is not there to acknowlegde that he is present. I guess you had to be there. The 80s and high school. Such a great movie to relate to.

Edit: well Gatito posted in the Gilmore thread that it is rumoured elsewhere that Lauren Graham is the significant other of Marcia Cross. They would certainly make a lovely couple if true. If you believe the person who posted the DH rumour and the hints are correct than it can´t be Lauren. Bummer, but still fun to speculate.



If this is Marcia´s gf, then I think she at least looks a bit like Lauren Graham.

I'm not positive, but I think the woman in that picture is the same woman who accompanied Marcia Cross to the Golden Globes. There were some close-ups of the two of them walking up the red carpet.



One of the announcers was naming off everyone's date, and mentioned that MC had come with a girlfriend, so I rewound to check her out.

GG So is this the Real Deal, or are sites just "telephoning" last week's rumor around? Gossip and rumors are fun, but they can be pretty damn frustrating when they just keep cycling around, w/ no real hard facts to support them. Out



However, I think we're all smart enough to know that, where gay rumors are involved, where there's smoke there's usually fire. COME OUT MARCIA!!!

Hee, funny Wanda is still trying to pretend she already knew what the rest of the world knew way before she did. I had no idea that gossipy post by the friendly ABC spy was only made a week ago. I think this proves more than just the power of the internet to spread gossip as news, it also shows the need for this to be true, the need for more visible gay names and faces. The Dutch article basically repeats everything the friendly spy hinted at, including the brunette from another show.

I think the internet blurbs outside of the US have probably copied the news from US sites without bothering to check where it came from, but for a network like CNN to mention Marcia Cross by name I would hope they would check where they got their news from. It should not be based on an anonymous post and speculation somewhere on the internet.

Desperate Housewives star denies coming-out rumors



After several days of media speculation that suggested that Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross was planning to come out as a lesbian in the pages of The Advocate, the actress's publicist has released a statement denying such a move.



"In response to the recent rumors about Marcia Cross, they are completely untrue," says a statement from Cross's publicist, Heidi Lopata Slan. "She is, however, very supportive of the gay and lesbian community."



Cross and her fellow Housewives were honored over the weekend when the show was awarded Best Comedy Ensemble at the Screen Actors Guild awards.

Oh well: someone can only come out when they're ready. I suspect she's just not ready yet. It's her decision. And I appreciate her support of our community, regardless.
