Well it looks visually stunning. I will put the rest of my comments in spoiler code.

Spoiler:
It looks like the metamorphosis of Anakin into Darth Vader is pretty gruesome after all. Good.

The death of Padme poses something of a continuity error and that bugs me, I don´t like continuity errors. When Luke asked Leia whether she remembered her real mother, she said something like she was very young when she died, but that she looked beautiful and sad. I guess it can be explained away by Leia remembering her foster mother, believing that she was her real mother. That is an just an excuse though, I am sure at the time she was supposed to be talking about their real mother and I find it a bit hard to believe that she would remember the day she was born.

I´m interested to see how Anakin comes to the point where he would actually kill his pregnant wife. I wish Padme would get her place in that Jedi afterlife or at least some other acknowledgement that she does not simply cease to be. At the end of the ´new´ Return of the Jedi, Anakin gets to be the pretty young man that he once was. Nice and all, I liked that, he saved his son and the rebellion in the end, but if that was enough to redeem him and give him a merry afterlife, then what should Padme get? She is the real hero to me and I assume that one day Luke and Leia would join the line of Jedi ghosts. Padme should be there. Can you tel I like her? I am not looking forward to seeing her fate so I am hoping against hope for a better fate for her.

I am a huge Star Wars fan. I challenge anyone to try to outdo me in my Star Wars fandom lol. My jedi name is Jen-Ru Balon

I grew up watching the movies. Unfortunatley my parents only bought me a princess Leia and wickett action figure. My brother had all of them and tore them up, eventually throwing them away. When the new novels came out in 92 I jumped back on the fandom wagon with a bang. I have read every novel since then, with the exception of Labyrinth of Evil (the prequal to EP III) which I haven't gotten to yet. I have the first ticket sold in my town for Ep I (caming out 2 days) and EP II (camping out 3 days). Both times I wore my (prequal) Obi-Wan styled Jedi Costume. The people at the theater still call me Jedi Jen.

I am looking forward to EP III and all that will surround it. I have 5 brand new Jedi costumes ready. I will be attending Celebration III in Indianapolis. I will once again start the line for Star Wars and camp out possible 4 days. I started a yahoo group for Lesbian Star Wars fans and it already has a handful of members. If you are a big fan or just a 'sometimes' drop by and share your thoughts.

BTW Jenn you and I need to stick together. Jar-Jar fans need to unite! :)

Now to aswer the questions:

1. What is your favorite episode?

Tie between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi

2. Who is your favorite character?

From the Original- R2-D2

From the Prequals - Jar-Jar and Obi-Wan

From the books- Mara Jade

3. What is your favorite quote?

Begun ...the Clone Wars has.

4. What is your favorite scene?

Any scene of R2 saving the day. And the kiss while inside the astroid.

5. Who is your favorite villain?

Darth Sidious

6. What is your favorite species?

Ewoks

7. If you could be any character, who would you be?

From the books either Mara Jade or Jaina Solo

Han Solo since he gets the girl, but I used to want to be Wickett

8. If you could be any species, what would you be?

Human or ewok

9. How old were you when you first saw Star Wars?

My parents took me to see it when it was re-released for a short time in 78 i was only months old then, and I saw it countless times growing up. I remember seeing Return of the Jedi on the big screen more than any of the others. I was 5 then and fell in love with the ewoks.

10. What is your favorite battle?

Lightsaber battle- Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul vs. Qui-Gon

Space Battle- RotJ Second Death Star attack led by Lando

Ground Battle- can you quess it already......Ewoks attack the Empire! :)

Currently it is available at starwars.com to those who are members of hyperspace. They should expand that soon to everyone, but is will be only the smaller version. There is a version of it you can see at www.doubleagent.com/video...t=37&v=256 I got that link from someone on the starwars.com community message boards. They are all talking about it over there.

A review of EP3 by Kevin Smith...

"SITH" SPOILERS

You've been warned...

Spoiler:
- "Revenge of the Sith" is, quite simply, fucking awesome. This is the "Star Wars" prequel the haters have been bitching for since "Menace" came out, and if they don't cop to that when they finally see it, they're lying. As dark as "Empire" was, this movie goes a thousand times darker - from the triggering of Order 66 (which has all the Shock Troopers turning on the Jedi Knights they've been fighting beside throughout the Clone Wars and gunning them down), to the jaw-dropping Anakin/Obi Wan fight on Mustafar (where - after cutting his legs and arm off, Ben leaves Skywalker burning alive on the shores of a lava river, with Anakin spitting venomous sentiments at his departing mentor), this flick is so satisfyingly tragic, you'll think you're watching "Othello" or "Hamlet".

I saw a gorgeous digitally projected version of the flick, and lemme tell ya': this is a beautiful looking film. The opening space battle sequence is the best in any of the six "Star Wars" movies. Grievous and Kenobi's lightsaber duel is bad-ass, with Grievous rocking four sabers. The Clone Wars end rather early in the flick (about the halfway point), leaving the rest of the film to concentrate on Anakin's turn to the Dark Side, and the resulting slaughter of the Jedi.

Perfect example of how dark shit gets: remember the Younglings - the kid Jedis in training from "Clones"? As a result of Order 66, when Anakin invades the Jedi Temple with an army of Clone Troopers, he enters the Council room to find a gaggle of said younglings hiding behind the seats. They see Anakin and emerge, asking "What should we do, Master Anakin?" The query's met with a stone-cold Anakin firing up his lightsaber. The next time you see the kids, Yoda's sifting through their corpses on the floor.

Yes, it's just that dark - and rightfully so. This is the birth of Darth Vader we're talking about. The only comic moments in the flick are given to R2D2, and while good, they're all pretty few and far between; the order of the day is dark, dark, dark.

Ian McDiarmid and Ewan McGregor steal the show, but Hayden Christensen silences any naysayers who wrote him off as too whiney in "Clones". This is the flick that feels closest to Episodes 4, 5, and 6, because - for the first time since "Return of the Jedi" - there is a clear villain. And for all the shadow-play Palpatine has been upto in the last two flicks, his treachery is about as subtle as John Williams' score in "Sith." Whether he's slowly drawing Anakin toward the Dark Side during an opera/performance art piece with his promise of the Sith's power of life over death, or he's engaged in a balls-to-the-wall lightsaber duel in the Senate with Yoda, his "Little, green friend" (his words, not mine - which I kinda dug, because, interestingly, I think it's the first time anyone's acknowledged that Yoda is green in any of the "Star Wars" flicks), this is the Emperor's movie.

The last fifteen minutes dovetail nicely into Episode 4 (or just plain "Star Wars" for you non-geeks), and the movie is full of link-up moments as well.

- At flick's end, Threepio and Artoo are given to Captain Antilles (with the caveat that the Protocol's memory be wiped).

- The twins, natch, are split up. Leia heads to Alderann with Bail Organa, and Obi Wan hands Luke over to Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru (indeed, the closing shot is Owen holding Luke while looking out over the setting suns of Tatooine - mimicking the shot of the adult Luke doing the same in "Star Wars", complete with callback cue from Williams).

- After he succumbs to the Dark Side, Anakin tries to convine Padme that he can overthrow Palpatine, and together, he and Padme can rule the galaxy as husband and wife.

- Vader and the Emperor stand beside a younger Grand Moff Tarkin on the bridge of a Star Destroyer, overlooking the earliest construction stage of the Death Star.

- Yoda telling Obi Wan that, as he heads to Tatooine to hand over Luke and go into exile, that he should spend his time learning to commune with those who've crossed over to the next stage of life, as Yoda maintains he's been doing with Qui Gon (and Ben will later do with both Luke and Yoda, in "Empire" and "Jedi").

- And, hands-down, the best link-up to "Star Wars" moment that I enjoyed the most: Bail Organa and Yoda stepping into the hallway of the Rebel Blockade Runner that opened "Star Wars". Unlike all the high-tech CGI wizardry of the rest of the prequel Trilogy, this is a low-tech looking set, right out of circa '77, and for some reason, it really captured my imagination. I mean, this is the same exact hallway in which we got our first look at Vader, oh so many years ago, and I appreciated the hell out of Mr. Lucas including it - because it really felt like a nod to the hardcores.

Look, this is a movie I was genetically predisposed to love. I remember being eight years old, and reading in "Starlog" that Darth Vader became the half-man/half-machine he was following a duel with Ben Kenobi that climaxed with Vader falling into molten lava. Now, twenty six years later, I finally got to see that long-promised battled - and it lived up to any expectation I still held. I was sad to see the flick end, but happy to know it's not the end of the "Star Wars" universe entirely (I've read stuff about a TV show...).

"Sith" doesn't happen; "Sith" rules.

From where I am, it's about 14 hours away from Episode III.... I can't wait! Some of my friends and I will be at the theater at dawn (in about 7 hours... the theater doesn't allow people to camp out), and I'm so giddy I'm not sure I'll sleep at all tonight. We have tickets for the 11:30AM show too... so it's looking like I'll be up for at least 36 hours starting tomorrow morning.

Can't wait!!

It's 12:22am... i just came back from the 9pm show on 18th May. What I would say might be spoilerish... but I'm happy to be one of the first to watch Star Wars: Ep-3. I work for a film distribution company... my company works hand in hand with Fox people ... hence great tickets to the special screenings of the movie.

Spoiler:
I'm a bit disappointed with this episode of star wars. the dialogues were a little corny and simple. action was fabulous but paving the way to how anakin became vader... that was a little weak. I was expecting a much stronger storyline from Lucasfilms. At least the effects were still satisfactory. As well as the almost sad scene where the Jedi's were completely betrayed. I think i feel better being Yoda... in the fact Yoda is a lot cooler in this episode. But i think he shrunk... or got fat in the last three eps. :p

Back I am and much have I seen! Some highlights without giving away anything:

1) The first 20 minutes is worth the price of admission. No, I'm not kidding.

2) Look for the simultaneous lightsaber duels to the death - splendid!

3) There is no Point 3. *waves hand* Move along.

Is it great? Let's just say it's better than the last two, and leave it at that. Lucas owed the fans that much. Ewen is ok, Hayden is less than menacing but will scare small kids, Natalie is a wooden 2-by-4 and should stick to action films, the Emperor is the true menace, Grevious should be nicknamed Ludacris and unfortunately there is a cameo with Jar-Jar Binks. Finally, the kick-ass Jedi award goes to: Yoda. Duh!

See it, you know you want to anyway if you're reading this. Come back and let's discuss. This...is only the beginning.

Apparently I liked it more than most people here.

The first 20 minutes were awesome, but the last 10 minutes were worth the price of admission alone for me. Nothing too terribly action-y, but all loose ends that needed to be tied up in order to make things work.

Oh, and one of my friends commented that the small change Lucas made to Empire (where Vader is talking to the Emperor's hologram) really sets everything up for Vader to "turn" back.

It's really just amazing how everything fell into place. Yes, there were some not-so-wonderful things (dialogue and some CGI stuff), but considering all of the other things going on, they're entirely forgivable (in my mind). I also thought all of the actors did a more than splendid job. Just my two cents, though.

I'll be seeing it again in about six hours... can't wait!!!

Oh, and watch for the cameo of Lucas himself, and of the Falcon. Hard to spot, but worth it for the warm fuzzy feeling.

Catie

Happy Jennpurr is. Revenge of the Sith, she has seen. Yes.

Spoiler:
OMG! This was the best episode yet. I put it up there with Return of the Jedi. I was very happy with it.

Yoda kicked ass. I've always loved him. He definitely shined. My beautiful baby and I both laughed when he walked into the room where Sidius was and he threw the soldiers against the wall. Tough little guy he is. And I agree with Shinnen - he was very cute riding on Chewy's back. The only part I didn't like, was when Yoda sensed the other Jedis' demise and it hurt him.

His cute little light saber. :x

Now, on to the cute little lizard creature that Obi Wan was riding on. Cute! :-D I was mad when they killed him though, as I was when Anakin killed the youngling Jedis'. :fit2 I liked Obi Wan in this episode as well. He's a good guy.

Anakin. WOW. What else can I say except for that one word? Awesome! Even though he played the role he did, he was still awesome. I hated him for what he did to Padme, but at least she didn't suffer when she died. I wish they would have given Natalie Portman more screentime. How mature was she? You could definitely tell the difference in her performance from Ep 2 to Ep 3.

Which transmission was it where you could see Vader possibly turning back? I couldn't tell which one. Or was it even in this movie? And who did George Lucas star as? I didn't see him. Also, my baby pointed out, did anyone else notice the other Lucas name in the credits? Maybe that was his son?

All in all, I was very impressed. I want to go see it again. I too, loved the ending. Looking into the Sunset brought back some fuzzy feelings, as did, seeing the Falcon. It was hit pretty bad, wasn't it?

And...

Jar Jar!!!!! :bounce Woot! Too bad he didn't have any lines. *sniff* Mesa loves Jar Jar. :x And the best thing was, he didn't die! I don't care what anyone else says; I love him!

I know there is more that I wanted to say, but I can't think of anything at the moment. I'll post more if I think of it.

I haven't seen it yet (I'm going tomorrow) but as for the George Lucas cameo...

In the film, he's dressed in galactic gear but fans can keep an eye out for his bushy beard.

"There is a scene, a large crowd scene, which my daughters are in," Lucas told AP Television News. "And they sort of insisted that I be in it, and so I did it."

Regarding Jennpurr's and Cindy's questions...
Spoiler:
I was talking about the transmission way back in The Empire Strikes Back, the new DVD edition. The first time we ever saw the Emperor, it was in a holo-transmission to Vader. You know... the "the son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi." That's still in there I believe, but when Lucas went back and fiddled with it, he changed a part of the dialogue (as well as the actor playing the Emperor to Ian McDiarmid) to the Emperor telling Vader that the son of Skywalker is still alive, and Vader being obviously surprised and saying "how is that possible?" or something very similar.

Now, in ROTS, after Vader is all suited up, he asks immediately about Padme. Palpatine tells him that Vader himself killed her on Mustafar. He's all upset, yadda yadda yadda. Later (at least in the SW timeline later) in Empire, he tells Vader that his kid was born, it is obvious (I think to Vader) that Palpatine lied to him. He deceived him regarding the one thing he loved more than anything else in the world. I think this planted the seed of doubt in Anakin's head (or at least brought him back just a bit) about the validity of the Emperor's statements. That's just a feeling I have, though. Very subtle, but very powerful plot device. Or it could have been a coincidence. But I liked it either way.

Regarding George Lucas... near the middle of the movie we see Anakin running to catch up with Palpatine who is at the weird water-opera thingy. Anakin runs down a walkway and then up some stars. Just before he goes through the doorway at the top of the stairs, the camera slows, and in the lower left hand corner there are two blue people talking to each other; a female on the right, and a male on the left. The male is George Lucas.

Regarding the other Lucases, all three of his children are in the film. One is a blue twi'ilek, as she was in AOTC (we see her in the possy of people who are greeting Palpatine after Obi-Wan and Anakin have returned him from the droid ship in the right part of the screen). For the life of me I can't remember where the second daughter is. But his son is the one youngling who's whooping some clone trooper butt and letting Bail Organa get away before he himself gets capped. He was also in AOTC as a youngling in the Yoda training scene.

And Cindy, the Falcon (or at least another YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship) is seen in an early shot where we see the ship which is carrying the newly rescued Palpatine back to Coruscant with Obi-Wan and Anakin. At the end of the long shot where the ship is pulling into port, look at the lower right-hand side of the screen and you'll see it pulling out. It's only on screen for about two seconds, but the blue glow of the engines is unmistakable.

I saw it twice yesterday as I had mentioned before, and found my reactions to be quite different both times (which is not unusual for me). The first time I was watching it more analitically, trying to figure out how they're going to reconcile some things to the original trilogy, how certain things are going to happen... very cerebral viewing. Didn't effect me emotionally at all. The second viewing I cried three differeing times, including the ending (I didn't see it in a digital theater, so I don't know if there is anything tacked on to the very end after what I saw). The second viewing was all emotional for me, which I'm happy about. I was worried that it didn't have any punch for me. I was wrong, it certainly did.

Thanks Catie, I'll know where to look this weekend. I've only seen it in a digital theater, so I don't know if there is anything different. I'm glad that I wasn't the only one that shed a few tears in some of the scenes, even if the ass that sat behind me laughed at every scene including the one with Padme.

Oh, heads would have rolled if that person had been behind me. The worst we had at the midnight showing was some woman who sqealed everytime Yoda was on screen ("that's my boy!") and asking about every single Wookie that was in the shot "Is that Chewbacca?" Her companion knew enough to hush her, but I wanted to smack her in the face a couple of times. (On a funny note, the management of the theater made an announcement that anyone using a cellphone during the screening would be removed. My good friend Dwayne said at one point he wanted to turn on his cell phone, toss it in the noisy woman's lap, and stand up, point, and yell "She's using a cell phone!" Made me laugh quite heartedly when he told us.)

The noon (well, 11:30) viewing had a disturbing number of young kids. Some looked to be as young as 3, which I think is a bad idea. This movie is, in my opinion, very dark and quite disturbing for children that young. A friend of mine has a son of almost 6 who is concerned about taking his son, and rightfully so. But, as I told him last night, he just can't not take him. It's the last SW movie he's (probably) going to see in a theater... his son will never forgive him (I know I wouldn't). Oh, there was one person who actually brought their baby (not yet a year old, in my estimation) to the noon screening. I'll never ever understand this. One of the most annoying things for me is a crying, fussy baby in a theater. I don't understand what these people are thinking. If you can't find a sitter, don't go to the movie.
