Cats and Kittens:AKA the children thread

Postby drlloyd11 » Fri Nov 08, 2002 10:50 am

With Web Warlocks annoucment of a expected new arrival, I wanted to start a "hey there" thread for people in this board who have children in there Life. I mean anything, even neices , nephews, children of friends. Comeon, I know you are out there!

Also, I know this sounds sappy, but somehow I always envisiaged W/T having children. The idea of Tara having a daughter, the first who knows how many years in her family, to grow up not being ashamed and afraid of her self seems wondeful. Like her just being a little girl is the ultimate victory for Tara over her family. I dont know, Tara oozes maternal for me.

For myself

I have a 3 year old boy named Michael. He is great fun, what with the high energy and all. He loves robots and dinosaurs and is found of the Powerpuff girls, but likes Mojo-Jojo Best.

Ok, sorry if this was sappy

First off, congrats to Web Warlock on the expected new arrival!!! :clap for the new :baby ...;)

Second, thanks to drlloyd11 for creating this thread...oddly enough, I was thinking about how cool it would be if there was such a thread the other day...BUT...since I don't post much....:shy ...I'm not -really- that shy...at least not online..but anyway. ;)

Anyway...the children in my life...:) ...or maybe I should say, child as there's just one for the most part.

Elysia...my niece...(technically my girlfriend's niece, but we're both referred to as "Aunties" when her mom and sis refer to us with the baby. ;) She's going to 6 months old on the 16th of this month....she's almost crawling...talk about a fun times ahead. ;)

here are some pics of us with her from this past July/August..apparently she finds me pretty comfy, as just about every picture we have of me holding her, she's asleep. :lol

As for Willow and Tara and children...I too always envisioned them having kids...they would be the ideal parents, don't you think? Combining their love into love for their kids...(okay...NOW who's getting sappy drlloyd11??)...I'm reading Spencer's (aka, Mainer) fic "happily ever after" right now and loving it for that very reason...all their kids!! :)

Anyway...i'm rambling like there's no tomorrow..sooooo...shutting up now. ;)

take care!

-annie :)

I like this.

I have always wanted kids. I am a softy that way.

I have one son, Liam, that just turned 3.

Here he is on Halloween.

I have another son on the way.

Don't know yet if we are going to have any more.

I have, at last count, 8 nieces, 2 grand nieces and 5 nephews.

Ooo kid thread! Love it. Well I have a nephew. Some people know that :) who's name is Chance (nothing to do with the movie I assure you) who is just the sun in our lives. He's a little germ incubator but he has a great personality so we over look every time we get the flu because of him. There are some oldish pictures of him. He's now 18 months and a kick!

Aww. All these adorable precious babies. Tim your son was so cute at Halloween! And congrats to you and Natalie on the new baby. The only child I have in my life is my little brother, and he's practically an adult. I cant wait until I have kids though. *sigh*

What an adorable litter of kittens!

Liam, Elysia, Chance, and Liam's little-brother-to-be-named- later are so precious.

I love being an aunt. The problem is, most of my siblings feel the same way: they want to be aunts or uncles, not parents. I only have one nephew, who will be four in April. He's smart and funny and handsome and talkative. Unfortunately, due to a financial falling-out between his parents and my parents, my other siblings, my parents, and I are no longer allowed to have any contact with him. It's sad when children become innocent pawns in family disputes, and I hope that this situation can be resolved. Mrs. Checkmate and I sure miss him.

In the meantime, though, my brother-in-law has seven nieces and nephews, and he's willing to share. One of his nieces just had her quincinera, and my parents were able to attend that and get a little grandparent fix.:) Precious moments like that will have to tide them over until they can see their own grandchild again.

So, thanks to everyone who has posted kiddie pix so far. It makes me happy to see and read about such beautiful youngsters.

Xander: "Tara, nice axing." Tara: "My first."

The only closely-related kid that I can speak of is my cousin's adopted daughter. She rescued her from a Chinese orphanage when she was still an infant, that was about 4 years ago now. Lovely little girl.

There's one family that my Mom does childcare for, she's just strted again as the mother has finished her 1-year maternity leave for her daughter. That girl has a 3-year-old brother. Both kids are smart as whips and just utter fun to have around. The 1-year-old can already walk (with some hesitation), can say her brother's name, and is insatiably curious.

I just love 'em to death (when I'm home to see them, which isn't often enough).

The two special kids in my life are my two nephews Nicholas(age6) and Michael(age5).

Both of them are just as sharp as a page of Oscar Wilde witticisms that has been rolled up into a fine point, sprinkled with lemon juice, and jabbed into someone's eye.

Now that's sharp!

That's the beauty of children, they are free from any sort of hatred, intolerance, or bigotry.

I try to look out for them so they won't have to endure the horrible teasing I got as a kid.

It's hard sometimes being your own person and standing alone from the herd.

Great pics, everyone. Kids are soooo cute, you are all very lucky folks! :baby

My brother's girlfriend's sister just had a baby a couple of months ago. Unfortunately for me, they live in the Netherlands so I haven't seen him yet, although he looks just adorable in the pics my brother has sent me. :angel Hopefully, I'll get over there soon.

While everyone in my family conveniently disbelieves me (it's an easy way for them to think they're scoring points in arguments) my daughter Katie, just 12, is the biggest thing in my life. And if there's ever anothe roamntic involvement in my futiure, I wouldn't mind doing it again.

My daughter has to get the credit both for giving me my alias and for offering me the oppportunity to first meet Willow back in 1997.

As to W&T and children, I do a fanfic set in 2026 called "The Children of the Dale" where Willow and Tara did what has by now become the cliche. In 2006, Tara has eggs extracted, our girls visit the sperm bank and find a donor w blue-grey eyes and soft ash blonde hair, the technician does the petri dish thingie and the resulting conceptus is implanted in Willow. Nine months later the world says hello to Summer Lavelle Maclay-Rosenberg. 4 years later, the donor has red hair and hazel eyes flecked w true green, Willow and Tara reverse roles and Autumn Anne Rosenberg-Maclay joins the family. And shortly before Autumn's 16th birthday, a phonecall is made from England to Sunnydale nad suffice it to say thta Autumn takes on the position of the central character after that.

Loads of lovely kids!!

I have 2.

My Eldest is 21 and lives away from home, she has a girlfriend who has a 3 year old. She returns home every now and then and makes homecoming Vodka jelly, sits at the computer on the internet talking to her g/f and at the same time talks to her on her cell phone... Ahh young Love...!

Then there's My 12 year old. She is actually My ex g/f's child. But when she decided being a mom wasn't her thing and went to work one Friday and didn't come home again until she ran out of money (bringing that nights pick up with her) I decided to go for custody. Needles to say it wasn't easy, not my ex's fault she was all for me having custody, however , maternal extended family were not. After lengthy reports by psychiatrists and court solicitors, The Judge decided "in the best interest of the child" and I got custody.

We are a very happy family and celebrate each year the "Decision day".

At the moment she is trying to decide which colour I should dye my hair for school parents night...she thinks it would be great fun if I went with blue or purple hair.....

I am undecided...I like red... or green...

We shall see who wins...

Ah, yes... looking forward to the days when I have a little one (preferably a girl) of my own.

Our Son

Postby circular reference » Mon Nov 18, 2002 3:40 am

My wife and I are expecting our first child around April 1, 2003... we actually will just hit the 20 week mark tomorrow. It is as thrilling as it is scary. At our 16 week u/s we were told it was 60% a boy... we laughed at that... only 60%, huh? Well, we'll see. We have a few names we're thinking of, but nothing definite yet... And the pregnant woman is apt to change her mind at any time, so... hee hee...

Here's "his" latest picture (11-26-02, 16 weeks 4 days):

It may be hard to see, but I put "him" in blue. His skull is on the left, his left arm is near his head & his left hand is touching his face... you can just barely make out his belly and knees and feet... hee hee...

He can hear now and responds to his mommy's voice, though not to mine yet. He "saw" Harry Potter twice this weekend and was extremely active both times.

I, too, can envision W & T having kids... they are such a forever couple... You know, ME should just give AB & AH license to go off & make their own spinoff... it would rock. Then they could have wee ones, too!! :D

Edited to add picture.

Great thread.

My Kitten was born in April 2000 - so she's now 19 months.

She walks, she talks, she does it all! She loves bluegrass - though I favor show tunes ( she doesn't seem to mind my singing) and dogs and going to the beach.

Hello Everyone,

Since Xita started the thread with all of our pics. I've been a busy little mom uploading pics of my kids.

The first is of my daughter, Meghan when she was 2. Now remember, we live in NJ so this is the perfect image of what a true Jersey Girl hairdo looks like.

The second is of my son, Kyle when he was 18 months. I didn't do the marine cut to his head. That was his fathers doing. Even though his dad isn't a Marine.

The third is of the two of them now. Meghan is 12 1/2 and Kyle is 9 1/2. At their age that half year is very important you know.
