Gen X- The “Other” Ages Lesbian Thread

Postby cattwoman98111 » Wed May 19, 2004 7:39 pm

There is a “young lesbian” thread. There is an “old lesbian” thread.

What about all of us in-betwixt lasses? Don’t we need a home? A place to call our own? Our very own thread?

Yes!

Of course we do!

Never Fear! Scrappy is here!

I toiled trying to invent the perfect thread title such as “Gen X- “More Than An Age” Lesbian Thread” and “The “Midpoint” Lesbian Thread” they just failed to pop .

After a bit of thought, I realized simple is better in some cases.

So, welcome to the Gen X- The “Other” Ages Lesbian Thread.

This is the home for all the other lesbians that just do not fit into an age group. The thought for this was a general one. Feel free to discuss, well, anything. From Asteroid to Garbage Pail Kids. Lic-A-Maid to what you drew on your PeeChee.

And just to make this completely Kitten Friendly, this is open to our Lesbian Identified Male Kittens as well.

To be nobody-but-yourself -- in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else -- means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting..

*Looks around and then steps into the thread*

Ooooh... I like this thread better. I'll stay here and call this my new home.

24 year old lesbian here. Though some of you may say I belong to the young lesbian thread, I disagree. I think I fit better in here.

I'm not a baby dyke, but yet, I know I'm still young.

I came out for the first time, when I was 18. Granted, I came out to one of my lesbian friends, so it wasn't really a big deal. I came out to my parents next, or should I say, they came out for me by asking me if I was gay. What a day that was.

Anyway...

I wouldn't change anything.

Anyone care for some popcorn? *Puts a bag in the microwave* It's full of buttery goodness... :flirt

I remember those from when I was a kid though. Didn't there used to be a cartoon or something? Or was it just trading cards? I don't remember. :eyebrow

What? In...between...lesbians... What's wrong with that?

Skating rinks rocked. I miss them as bad as I miss putting mousse in my hair.

Um, this is the part where I confess that maybe, perhaps, possibly I may have misstyped the candy name. Gee, where has my mind been? *coughguttercough*

Handles? On the Teletubbies. I really, really do not care to consider the purpose of them.

Helpful? Teletubbies? Pray tell Licky, just in what way did they help you? Hmmmmm?

Holley, dear I have a similar story of stolen kisses at the skating rink. But as for the childhood it was pretty normal climbing trees, falling out of trees. ect.

Jen-Gimme that popcorn!!!!

About those handles, I really wanna know. I mean, do they like drag each other around by them? Like the cavemen did?

80s peoples, you need to take this: 80's Lyrics Quiz

It's not like all those others. This one's better. In a way, it's easier, but in another way, it's actually harder.

Y'all know you can still get parachute pants, right? And how cool are parachute overalls? Seriously.

There's a pair of leg warmers in my sock drawer right now. Is there something wrong with me? I don't wear them or anything...I really don't...that would be lame...right?...

Ok, I’m 31 years old and definitely a lesbian, so this thread is certainly for me. I remember well going roller skating on Friday nights. And while I saw a lot of stolen kisses taking place there, I never actually participated in any myself. Actually, I spent most of my time in the arcade area of the rink playing Pacman Jr. and this other game that I don’t remember what the name was, but it was basically a sink and bubbles, and you had to get the bubbles down the drain before the cockroaches and razorblades popped them. It was a weird game, but I really enjoyed it. Plus playing on roller skates only enhanced the enjoyment, especially with pinball. Myself, my sister, and my cousin won a singing trio contest once, which was basically three people skating around the rink holding hands and singing at the top of our lungs. I have to give my cousin most of the credit for that one. We won pizza and free drinks, so that was pretty cool. I also confess to owning a pair of the parachute pants at one time, but I swear I only had the one pair.

I confess I still consume a healthy diet of 80s music on a regular basis which might explain why I got a 112.5 on that lyrics quiz. Thanks Holley. That quiz totally rocked! Even though it said something about my lyrics knowledge being scary. :blush

Well, I'm 30, so I'm guessing I belong in this thread.

And, um, I scored a 98 on the lyrics test (got all three bonus questions!), and am proud to say I never owned a pair of parachute pants! That's one of the very few good things about being overweight... you can't really find trendy clothes that fit you, so you wear general stuff. That way, when you look back at your middle school pictures, you're not nearly as dated as your friends!!

I can find a silver lining in almost anything.

Editted because I can't spell today.

Think what you will but not that long ago I was obsessed with 80's music so thats why and how I know the lyrics. And if I wanted to lie about my score I would have made it less because it's kinda embarrassing to make such a high score and not even remember most of the 80's :D .
