I know, hell I bought my CRV from John Elway Honda just so I could have his name on my car.

Elianna, Michmoret is like 20 minutes drive from Pardes Hana. I live about 5 minutes away from Hadera, right by Gan Shmuel. Hehe. We ARE neighbors!! That is so cool! So are you in Israel now, that school started and everything? Or that you’ve already graduated and then… army? Are you going?

Ok, I’m bombarding with questions and I should stop… anyway, this is cool! I didn’t dare think there’d be Israeli (somewhat) kittens. :)

i am from rio de janeiro, brasil. and so far i haven't seen a more gorgeous place. it has the biggest urban forest of the world, is surrounded by the mountains and the sea, and has a very relaxed lifestyle - but please don't think you will find naked people dancing samba with araras flying by in the streets ;) ! it's also a very big town, with 10 million inhabitants.

now that i am traveling through new england i also found lots of cute towns in the states i've been. the stateof ny has lots of cute places. i've also enjoyed many towns in connecticut, and fell in love with providence, ri.

I was born and have lived my whole life in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Both my parents were born here too. Three of my grandparents came here pretty much as refugees from Karelia during/after the Russkie invasion.

I'm from the Manhattan Beach/Hermosa Beach area of Southern California. Fortunately, my parents didn't have enough money to send any of their children to the McMartin Pre-School.

I still live a mile or so south of that area, in an old beach town that has managed to keep a few trees and lawns intact in the face of out-of-control development.

Sometimes, I'll run into my junior high band director, or my kindergarten teacher, or my high school counselor while out running errands. Keeps me young, I guess.

I'm from central North Carolina originally, but now I live in a small city north of Los Angeles/south of Santa Barbara... basically I just moved to Sunnydale. :) It's been an adjustment, but overall it's great. No mosquitoes! No humidity! Yeah!

Born, raised in a small city in Las Angeles. Planning on moving soon, very soon, actually soon as I sell my house and find a new place to live hopefully closer to the beach.

And, yet, I just can't seem to care

Originally I'm from a tiny little village in Nottinghamshire, UK not too far away from Sherwood Forest (please insert Robin Hood jokes at will), about 15 people live there & I'm related to all of them one way or another.

I moved to Newcastle in '97 and I stayed put there until May when I relocated to Sunderland where I could afford a decent house.

Sunderland is a weird place it's the biggest city in the northeast yet I have seen town centres which are bigger than our tiny crappy city centre. Oh well size isn't everything! :)

It's my turn!

I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which, i swear to you all, is in the United States. You'd never believe the questions i get asked when i tell people where I'm from.

"Wow, how do you know so much english?"

"Do you ride donkeys everywhere?"

"So, how do you like America?"

Just to name a few. I always wonder if the reaction would be the same if we had a state called New Canada. :grin

People seriously ask you that? I'm kind of shocked.

I was just in Albuquerque in May with my mother and sister; it was lovely, although it was Friday night, so got stopped, along with everyone else, in a kind of alcohol point check.

My sister was driving, so I was glad I drank her margarita for her. :)

Tulipp, you are bamboozling me with your sig. It's as if it changes before my very eyes, such is the rapidity with which you are altering it!

I'm from a town called Nuneaton, which is in Warwickshire, smack bang in the middle of the UK.

It's famous for being the birthplace of George Eliot, acclaimed author type person. All the places in her books are real places in Nuneaton which, if I had ever read any of them, I could point out to people :blush

I am in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Born in the U.S.A. (Peoria, Illinois, actually), but have lived here in Canada since the 60's.

The temperatures here range from over 35 dgrees Celsius in the summer to less than -35 degrees C in the winter; a land of extremes, eh? This year it snowed in May (unusual) and the forecast is 7 degrees C this evening (usual).

It's a great place to live, with lots of restaurants, theatre, clubs, sports, etc. However, it's very, very flat.

Postby tommo » Fri Sep 20, 2002 2:34 pm

Sigh. No George Eliot goodness for me. Bah. Bad Em. ;)

I'm from Macclesfield, although I've since adopted Manchester as my home town, as anyone who's ever been to Macclesfield will understand.

Macclesfield does have a great history though; it was put on the map during the industrial revolution and it's actually a really nice place to live. Although the HUGE hospital they had in the outskirts was closed down during the mid 90's and there were some poor people released into the community. If you're wondering what kind of hospital it was, let me tell you, the phrase "Macc Nutter" has true meaning.

Anyhoo, that's all by the by now. We live peaceably here in Macclesfield. We like parks. We like shops. We like the Conservative Party. It's a thing.

But Manchester is where I feel I belong. It's always been a draw for me since I was a teenager, when I went to Sixth Form College there. So if anyone asks, I'm from Manchester, right? Not the leafy suburbs of Macclesfield. There is no tommo in Macc. Tommo lives and thrives in Manchester.

Woo, ramblin' gal. Blame the German beer I'm drinkin'. Good stuff. ;)

Ah yes...Maple Ridge. Once took a wrong turn on my way to Buntzen Lake for a spontaneous day of fishing and ended up -- somehow -- in Maple Ridge. I eventually sorted things out though. :)

Enjoy Debbie Reynolds!
