It's I got a new job Thursday MKF!

Wow.



What a long strange trip this has been!



September, 2001 I was working as an online course developer in a job that I loved. Well then came the big dot com crash of 2001 and my dream job was gone.



So I found solace here on the Kitten, went back to teaching and found myself in the middle of one of the biggest controversies in net related fandom, and discovered a bunch of really good friends.



Well now today is the last day of that freedom.

On Monday I re-enter the working world, right where I left off it seems. I am going back to creating online courses (and back to my original pay too!!!)



But that means I won't be hanging around here as much as I have in the past.



I just really can't express what this place has come to mean to me really. But this new job is going to be really something good for me too.



Wish me luck!

I hope I will still be able to catch up on everything.

Congrats Tim, I understand perfectly how life changes can keep one away from the board. Anyway, I am really glad you're going back to the job you loved. It's great for you and your family, which I hope is all doing fine.

It is for a different company, my old one did survive the dot com bust, but everyone here is really happy.



Course I will miss spending so much time with my boys. That is really the hardest part, but Natalie is looking forward to spend more time with them and spending the extra money!



It certainly has been something else.

Congratulations! I'm glad to hear that you're going to do the job that you love. It's so important. We spend so much time at work that it's always a BIG plus when we love what we do. No this is downtown Chicago for me. So back to riding the train. That's fine, I did some of my best work on the train.

UPDATE!



Well the first work is over and my new job rocks.



I am working 12 hour days now, quite a change from teaching, but it is good.



Currently I am working on a "Global Terrorism" class. No, not a how-to guide but a how-to recognize and current issues. It is great to find a place where I can use all my education in one place and I am appreciated for it.



Of course I miss seeing my boys but Saturday is still library day with them so I get to make up for it.



I also miss all of this stuff here too.



WI: I'll have to email you. I am over by Union Station on Van Buren and Clinton.



Ok, now time to catch up.
