I tell ya what Ruth, I will take a page from the wonderful Buffy writers and from now I will take this stance.

I am gonna be up in a place. Doing a thing. With somebody, with somebody that we know.

Well officially, of course, I have to say that I have no idea what you're talking about.

Does West Texas count?

Postby Kieli » Wed Jul 03, 2002 2:28 pm

'Cause this Philly girl is stuck in the ass end of the world and would love to meet up with North Texas kittens. I'm sure I could drag Diana along for the ride. She hates driving to Dallas as much as I do so at least I won't suffer alone.

BTW, she and I are headed to Boston July 21st through the 30th. Any Boston kittens going to be around at that time?

Love is tricky. It is never mundane or daily. You can never get used to it. You have to walk with it, then let it walk with you. You can never balk. It moves you like the tide. Postby La » Wed Jul 03, 2002 5:50 pm

Well, I'm going to be in Boston trying to find an apartment from the 23rd until the 28th ... (I'll be in Boston for good at the end of August sometime) I may be running around like crazy looking at different places, but could probably free up an evening :) for some kitteny fun.

Re: Boston anyone?

Postby La » Fri Jul 05, 2002 10:30 am

You know, the problem with casinos is the free alcohol. I went to this casino in Korea in April and I was doing so well (well, okay, i was only about $10 up, but that's coming up from being $50 down) at the roulette tables. But then they just kept bringing me those gin and tonics and they use such good alcohol and they totally weren't skimping on the alcohol and then all of a sudden I was totally plastered (and I DON'T get drunk often, at all) and back down to -$50. hehe, but it was a good solid 2 hours entertainment and tons of yummy gin for $50.

So email me if you think you might be into a night out :) I'll bet we could gather together a few other Boston area kitties as well.

Now, for Chicago-area kittens. I know you just had a get-together, but how about another one in August sometime? We could maybe get some more of the Wisconsin/Michigan/Indiana kittens involved. Chicago's pretty central to those states ...

Los Angeles-Silent Movie Theater

Postby Elianna » Sat Aug 03, 2002 6:09 am

Hi. Is anyone interested in going to the Silent Movie Theater on Fairfax? And meet at a restaurant first, of course.

If you are interested, please contact me. elianna_358_1999@yahoo.com

I can answer questions about how to get there, what is involved in silent movies (no, they're not really silent).

Darn, I was just in Chicago last weekend too. I won’t be back until Labor Day weekend, then I’ll be back again on my way to Wisconsin in the middle of September. If the Chicago kittens want to plan something, I’d be interested. I’ll see what I can do with my schedule. I’m going to try to see if I can somehow make it to Birmingham for Chance though.

Well, leaving for Milwaukee, Wisconsin tomorrow. GenCon (Aug 8-11) and 25,000+ gamers await.

Some of you Kittens have expressed regret that you're not going this year (Hi, Web Warlock and Garner!). I'm just wondering if there's anyone actually going to be at the con or if anyone resides in Milwaukee - dinner, for example, is a definite possibility.

I'll be mostly hanging with the Be A Gamer folks, who run the miniature painting contest and painting seminars.

I don't know why I even try to be the one organizing the going to the Silent Movie Theater. If you want to know the date and the time, contact me or post here, and I'll contact you.

And if you want directions, the movie theater's webpage is www.silentmovietheater.com. But if you want tips on where/how to find a place to park, you can email me.

Scifilover,

Where are you in WI?

I thought a Kitten gathering at the Bristol Renaissance Faire would be fun.

Or as my wife calls it "Breast Fest". ;)

Silent Movie Theater on Fairfax- Los Angeles

Postby Rane018 » Sun Aug 25, 2002 12:46 pm

hi, i totally forgot to let everyone know that the gathering is on (this) Friday, Sept 30th... sorry amorxita, my minds been a bit crazy lately as you know. hehe... HUGS!

there are a few of us that will be carpooling from the UCLA/Westwood area (i say that cause i haven't a clue what my area is called). if you'd like to be a part of that email me or eli... her info is above in this thread and mine is rane018@yahoo.com.

We are meeting for dinner before the movie at Cantor's Deli, ca. 6-ish. you can either meet us there or come with the carpool. I'd ask for you to RSVP to either of us by friday morning, maybe we can make a reservation. it's friday night before Shabbat so there may be a lot of people noshing before going to shul. just a thought.

so ok, i'm off now. see you all soon!

TARA- It looks like gibberish.
SPIKE- (moving to them) Gibberish?
TARA- Or possibly gobbledygook. It's not words, anyway…

Little Holmby Hills, thank you very much. :) Westood is more south of campus. And Holmby Hills is on the East side of Beverly Glen, but west of Beverly Hills. Little Holmby Hills is between Homby Hills and UCLA.

Bet you wanted to know all that!

And should I mention that one of my mom's good friends is a real estate agent as an explanation?

Maybe, but Canter's isn't Kosher (it serves both meat and milk, and sometimes even together). I hope that people who keep Kosher can still go, I didn't think of it being non-kosher. I really hope that it isn't a problem.

Gosh darn it Rane, now you've got me worring!

Re: ...

Postby Elianna » Sun Aug 25, 2002 3:59 pm

No, dear. Holmby Hills is NOT south of Wilshire. (I'm really reminding myself of the whole driving discussion in Clueless...) We can go on a driving tour sometime. I believe that I've already mentioned, but my house is somewhat near the Playboy mansion.

I think that where you live usually falls under the title of Westwood when they advertise it. I'm not exactly sure.

Also, I just realized, but not many people can meet at my house. We have restricted parking, and I only have two extra passes, so that meanst that only three people can meet there, unless people don't drive. Unless someone doesn't mind scraping the back of their car, then I can move one of our cars on the street, and that person can try parking their car at in our garage. I warn ya, you've got to hate your car to be willing to do that.

So basically, if you'd prefer to meet at my house, please email me beforehand. elianna_358_1999@yahoo.com, and I'll tell you if it's feasible.
