DPE,

I wish I could, but I've already made plans to go to some big art show..I'd still like to have an Atlanta Kitten get-together sometime if you know some others that might be interested..

Well, I was thinking about it, but I just checked out Missy Good's site and found she wasn't' going to be at DragonCon now. She was supposed to appear at Charis Bookstore in Atlanta on Thursday.

dreadpirateemily, I was thinking of maybe going, but I don't know anyone and I'm not really interested in the BTVS stuff by myself (no sense raining on their parade and pissing off anyone else at DragonCon just cause I'm depressed about Tara). I might have gone to some of the Xena stuff, cause they've already been through the stuff we're (I'm) going through, but now Missy Good won't be there.

I was gonna go last year, when I lived in

Birmingham and I thought Amber was gonna be here. Then Amber cancelled. Then I got laid off. Now I'm laid off in another job while now living in Atlanta.( Good god, this is starting to be whiny.Shame on me).

Anyway, Emily, if you night be interested in having someone just schlep around with you on Saturday when you go, e-mail me at amber_jdo@yahoo.com. I'm free this weekend and would consider paying the $75 or whatever it is to get in My gf is going home to New Orleans to visit her parents and I'm staying home to take care of feline and canine babies.:)

Oh, and Emily I was the one who commented on the Kitten board regarding Atlanta Pride- I asked if you were the one with the bandana riding in the Parade with the DJ Grand Marshall person.

Sorry for all the ramble, but I've been job hunting big time then drinking Drambuie. .:)

d-con

Postby dreadpirateemily » Wed Aug 28, 2002 6:23 am

Kendahl and emma peel,

First, twould be great to have an Atlanta get-together! (And to anyone else lurking who lives in the Atlanta area, please chime in!)

Secondly, if you go to D-Con for one day, it's only $30 (only?!) That's what I'm planning on. I usually hang out with various folks depending on what I'm attending, and I'm only planning on one Buffy session this time. I'm not really interested in people sitting around talking about how great it was or just not talking about Tara at all... *sniff*

So if you wanna go, lemme know and we can meet up at some top-secret designated spot.

For anyone who is considering going, goto:

www.dragoncon.org and click on "schedule" to get the skinny.

Melbourne Cup

Postby MadeinNZ » Fri Aug 30, 2002 7:57 pm

Any Kittens interested in some kind of gathering during Melbourne Cup week (1st week of November)? I'm over from NZ that week and I thought there might be lots of visitors to the city - hence a great time to get together for coffee or something with some Aussie Kittens.

Email me if you're interested (through my profile).

There appeared to be some interest in an Aussie gathering, and even some interest in that gathering being in Melbourne, though the first week in November might be too soon to pull something together.

Hopefully we can gather the people who were interested on the other thread over to this one?

Hey Indygo, just popping over from the other thread to show some support for an Aussie Kitten gathering. I really wouldn't be able to go but...'eh it's time for some socialising between the Australian Kittens dammit :D

Just qondering, how exactly does it work, what does everyone do, if the gathering isn't because of a Buffy Actor Convention?

Hey Indygo. I'd love to come to a meet, but I'll be out of Australia (ah, the irony) from November-January. Sydney would be really good for me, but Melb is fine.

If you want any help planning, or anything, let me know :D

speaking of irony I couldn't make the get together either (darn VCE exams!!) but I think that it is a great idea! and were I free I would definatly attend!

Tara: Every time I... even when I'm at my worst, you
always make me feel special. How
do you do that?

Kittens in Kansas Gatherings?

Postby primalfigure » Thu Sep 26, 2002 6:35 am

Any plans for a gathering in Kansas? We could meet in Kansas City or something. Or even drive across State Line road and meet in Missouri? Then it could be a Kansas/Missouri Gathering. Anyone got plans to do this? Could be cool. :D

Not to get ahead of myself here, but how does "one" go about setting up a gathering?

Is there a specific person, who is already responsible for this?

A specific part of this site I should already be looking at?

Any pointers gratefully accepted.

Pretty much you start off as you are, here. I've usually observed that people start by recommending an activity, and asking who else in their area is interested, and then naming a time. Or the other way around, sometimes. I don't think that there are any rules, at least, not that I've seen.

No, no of course the motto is: "What was that Skip? Trouble? *makes Skippy noise*"

You know what just make it a road trip instead of a gathering, someone with a car drive from state to state, picking up Kittens along the way...Hmm maybe make that a truck to fit everyone in...Everyone wins!

Also you do realise that by saying all the good 'ol Aussie sayings we're just reinforcing stereotypes, right? Just checking!

EDITED TO ADD - Bugger the truck and instead, Two Words: "Shaggin' Wagon"! :lol : Sorry I'm bored out of my mind right now so....Too many thoughts...

Go the reinforcing! They all think we have kangaroos as pets, so may as well let 'em think what they want. We know the truth...it's all about the beer and sunshine. :D

Ooh I love your idea, the road trip! The truck could be muchly fun :p
