Wow, Bob – that picture was breathtaking. Makes me want to head west.

While I’m here I thought I’d add a link. In my spare time, I run a website for Blackwater Refuge in Maryland, and we’re in our third year with our online Osprey Cam.

This year we had two successful chicks. They’re both flying now and spend a lot of time out of the nest, but our cam galleries are full of amazing photos of their upbringing.

Running the cam can be quite a challenge. Our problems have included everything from lightning strikes to red ants to vultures, which have all managed to take down the cam for short periods, but we’re still up and probably will be until the ospreys migrate south in late August.

Here’s the link if you want to check out the live cam or the galleries:

So Garfield was in town and we went to puff and spuckie's wedding and while it at it we went up and down California. He took many more pics than I did and I am sure he'll share later, these are some of mine. Mostly of the Golden Gate Bridge and of Berkeley where I went to college and I hadn't visited in 9 years :)

Thanks for these pics, Xita ! A great fore-taste ‘cause I’ll be in S.F. in a few weeks time (no doubt I’m gonna have to do some damage control after you and especially G rampaged it :p ) and you’ve captured the atmosphere really well! It is such a fabulous town. Thank you.

Folks, do not try this yourself, even if you're a professional driver on a closed course. But I couldn't resist. I've driven past this sign many many times now, and I had to share.

Okay. I've been holding these in for a long time. I figured it was time to send them out into the world. Please don't repost any of these anywhere, okay? (I've found my pictures in some of the weirdest places, with no idea how in the world they could have ended up there. :lol ) So...just ask me.

Dead Things - Don't go here if seeing a cricket, cat, fish(head), and snake who have all shuffled off this mortal coil is going to squick you out. :(

Flora - Happy pretty flowers and green stuff (and some mushrooms).

Non-Pet Critters - Random fauna such as goats, a horse, gorilla, tiger, slugs, and one freaky humanoid creature, etc.

Pet Critters - My babies!

Places and Things - Graffiti, flags, kudzu, cars, buildings, trash, waterfalls, the moon, gravestones, etc.

Spiders - :eek All but one (the tarantula at the zoo) were my guests at one time or another.

Trains and Tracks - Trains...tracks.

Some of these pictures are older and taken with the still feature of a Sony Handicam, but most are taken with a Sony Cybershot. It should be obvious which ones are which because the Handicam ones suck. I think the still on the Handicam is like one megapixel. :rolleyes Soooo lame.

Anyway, hope y'all like.

Thanks, xita, I like the dollhead, too. It sure gave me a scare amidst all the trash and very terrible smell of fishheads. (Oh, yes, there were a whole lot more than just that one up in Dead Things. A whole pile of them. Bleh. Which I didn't spot until after I'd nearly had a heart attack seeing a tiny little head...)

Kay, isn't it great? I think they only started a few years ago, so you probably missed it. They were hanging all over Five Points. I was surprised and very happy when I first saw them. :pride

No, I didn't. Oddly it was very random but as I flipped through everything just seemed to overlay perfectly. Although a certain Kitten (thank you) hooked me up with some fantastic software that made this a piece of cake.

Adobe photoshop 7

I've had it here for months and finally got around to installing it. Damn it is just fantastic. Although I have an older version so it wasn't difficult to adjust.

Petal, you really have an eye for beauty (your wallpapers are proof enough of that). ;) Unfortunately, I have not seen many butterflies this year. :(

Urn, that is really funny and cute. :)

Edited to add: I have finally uploaded some of the pics I took in LA and SF. They can be found here. Just click on the little pics if you want to view the larger version. The last picture wasn't taken by me but by Xita's girlfriend Sean, but hey, it was still my camera. ;)
