Especially when they make us wait a few extra weeks to see how it turns out G. I can't believe there's no new ep's until the end of March. I enjoyed this one, but obviously was hoping to see more of Aly. I like Meg, and I appreciate the way they keep coming back to these minor characters once in a while. They write them so well it would be a shame to just drop them never to be seen again. Veronica is a bit over-confident at times, but that's part of her charm for me. She comes up with a plan, tries it, and it if fails she tries something else. Eventually she gets somewhere. I'm beginning to kind of like Logan, so I hope he doesn't turn out to be the murderer. At this point, I haven't figured out who did it yet.

Edited to crrect a minor typo, and too add that I miss Weevil (the motorcycle guy) too Hopefully the show will survive the ominously low ratings so we can see more of all these people. As for Duncan's father, maybe he thinks Duncan did it during one of his blackouts and is covering because he assumes his son is guilty.

May I just toot my own horn and say I was right about Logan´s sister using his mother´s credit card. :smug Poor guy. Veronica seems a bit too cocky at times and that makes her careless, it almost cost that guy his life. Ah and I don´t like cliffhangers.

I can´t imagine he would have done it, not that I don´t think he is not capable of murder. He has so much anger in him, but I just do not think he would have hurt Lilly. It also does not explain why Lilly´s father would be manipulating the evidence. I actually started to like Logan quite a while ago, even when he was being an asshole, he showed he had heart and a sense of honor. I put my virtual money on Duncan. They have not introduced any other suspects. I do not understand how Veronica´s mother fits into this and why they are threatening her. Maybe she was a witness or something.

I liked Meg too, but I´ve completely forgotten what her previous appearance was about. She and Veronica made a nice couple for the two seconds that lasted. I wish we would see more of the motorcycle guy, I think he´s an interesting character, but has less and less to do.

I can't wait for the next new episode to come on. This is one of my favorite shows to watch and I watch a lot. I found a website listed on the TV Guide website set up to tell you everytihing that the fans need to do to help ensure a season 2. www.saveveronicamars.com/ Remember if their is a season 2 then that means the possiblilty of more Ally. At this point UPN has not given the green light for a new season, although they haven't stated they won't either. The website has a petition and a lot of other tips to keep the show on the air. For example the Producer of the show has said in the past, about the show Jake 2.0, that it would only renew if their was a massive amout of fan letters asking them to. I like Veronica so I am going to hand right a letter about why I like it and send it off. I hope some of you do the same.

Thanks for posting that Ben, I for one would never have seen the interview otherwise. It was interesting, and reading it helped make this horribly long wait for new ep's a little more bearable. And let me remind everyone that the wait is about over, new ep's resume Tuesday night. At last.

I thought it was a good ep, but not one of the best. I enjoyed the mascot kidnapping story, which had some real highlights including Veronica's bartering with the principal and the 'Betty" appearance at the other school. As usual, I was impressed that they made a point of not demonizing anybody and giving some depth to even the minor characters. As for the Lilly story, it did get moved along because of the info she got from her Mom and from the tapes. I felt kinda bad that she put all her money into her Mom's drying out stay, since I doubt that her Mom will stay put for the whole thing. I'm also a little confused as to what addiction she has, I assumed it was alcohol but Veronica saying that she wanted her to help 'kick" makes me wonder if she has an addiction to hard drugs like ######. Anyway, it was good to see a new ep again.

Postby urnofosiris » Thu Mar 31, 2005 3:15 pm

I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. I wonder who that guy´s daughter is. The look Veronica had on her face at the end suggests she will be someone we already know. If she was just another girl then what is the big deal. It makes sense that a dying father would want to provide for his daughter as best he can. Of course you can debate whether having a father convicted as a killer is worth the money, but still. I got the feeling there was more to that man just having a daughter somewhere. Maybe she is Duncan´s new girlfriend. I forgot her name.

One thing that puzzles me most is that I do not get why Veronica´s mother would meet up with Jake to get his wife to back off trying to get between Duncan and Veronica (assuming what her mother was saying was the actual reason for their encounter). If there is even the slightest chance that Veronica is Jake´s daughter, then why wasn´t her mother the one trying her damnest to break them up. Unless Duncan is not Jake´s son, in which case there is no chance of them being closely related. I really hope all these mysteries will get resolved by the end of the season. I would hate it if the show got cancelled, but I would hate it all the more if we are left with a ton of questions.

They are certainly making it seem like Duncan is guilty aren't they? I agree though that this may be just deliberate misdirection and it could turn out to be nearly any of the suspects. But not Logan apparently, which makes me happy. I would strongly suspect the security head if it turns out he has a good motive. About all I can see for a motive now is to have something to hold over his employer which doesn't seem like enough motivation to kill someone. I have to say I was a little disturbed by the scenario's of Lily's murder, likely because I've grown quite attached to the character even though she only appears in flashbacks or as an apparition.

They didn't do as much with the character of the mysterious daughter as we were expecting (she wasn't someone we already knew for example), but it was ok and well cast and acted as usual. The scenes between Veronica and her Dad were especially strong this time I thought, and I loved the stuff with the sleazy P.I.

Re: 4/05/05 Episode

Postby urnofosiris » Wed Apr 06, 2005 3:58 pm

The storyline with the daughter had me going in a sense that I was really worried that creepy guy was going to kill her. Instead they bought her. I do think Veronica was playing with fire again, what if that guy had hurt her? I am glad her father finally relented and is working with her on the case now. I understand he was trying to protect her, but shutting her out clearly was never going to work and only drove her to take the risks he never wanted in the first place.

Duncan has been my number one suspect for quite a while now, but what is making me doubt it, is that is looking so obvious. His parents must believe he did it, why else would they go out of their way to mess with the evidence and pay millions for an innocent man take the fall. Only if they are doing it to protect their son does that make sense. Maybe they found Duncan with Lily´s body and he was having a fit at the time and they jumped to the wrong conclusion, but maybe he went into a fit because he found her dead.

I have no idea who else it could be if it is not Duncan though. Had they made it clear before that Mrs Kane is Lily´s stepmother? I did not know that.

This show kicks ass. I know I could watch it again and see about 5 things I missed on first viewing. Kristen Bell really is fantastic.

I'd think Duncan did it, but then I'd think they wouldn't just point us in that direction so obviously, would they? Heh. I think his parents think he did it.

Who actually did it? I have no idea, and I like it that way.

Duncan totally creeped me out when he was poolside with Veronica. Saying how glad he was now that they didn't move.

I'm don't think Mrs. Kane is Lilly's stepmother. I think Lilly was referring to Veronica as the stepdaughter.

Aly back next week

Postby Incarnadine » Tue Apr 12, 2005 8:24 pm

Tonight's episode was great from start to finish with some great twists. I suspected a frame job but it didn't occur to me it would be the federal agent doing the framing. I keep myself spoiler free (mostly) so seeing Joey-Lauren Adams (Chasing Amy) in this episode was a real treat and the episode ended on a real high note showing scenes of Aly in her next appearance. If only more shows were half as good as VM.

Veronica Mars: Look at you, all helpful.

Logan Echols: Hey, your peskiness being unleashed on Conner brings me joy. Annoy, tiny blonde one, annoy like the wind!

What the..... Veronica and Logan!?! Jeez, this show continues to come straight out of left field in more and more ways. I'm hard pressed to remember ANY show that's surprised me this much. Wallace's mom and Veronica's dad....anyone else remember any clues in that one ep where they met that this was coming? Also agree very good episode with enough relationship wrenches thrown in to make it better than most soap plotlines. LOL...I've given up trying to outguess the writers on this show far better to just sit back and ejoy the ride.

From TV Guide...

Quote:
Question: That's great news about Veronica Mars getting renewed. Now, the only question is, what could they possibly do for Season 2? — Robert

Ausiello: Let's ask Kristen Bell, who spoke to TVGuide.com over the weekend. After confirming news of the show's renewal, Bell teased Mars' season finale and hinted at what's to come next fall. "There's a cliff-hanger at the end of this season, and it's not related to any of the questions that have been posed already," she said. "But it will make you want to see the first episode of next season to see what the answer is. But that's not the arc of the season. Next season, as far as I'm aware, the first couple of scenes will answer what the cliff-hanger was and the last couple of scenes will give you what the next year-long mystery is." Bell also teased that the rape mystery will be resolved "by Episode 20, which is the second-to-last episode. And then, in the last episode, you'll get everything else answered. And the paternity issue is answered somewhere along the line, too!" Hooray!

Postby seurat » Wed Apr 13, 2005 4:34 pm

Great episode last night, I've already watched parts of it a second time. As I was watching it the first time I was thinking my only reservation was that they weren't doing much about the Lily murder, and then they put in a really good scene between Veronica and Duncan. I was really surprised by the Logan/Veronica kiss, not so much with the two parents getting together, they did seem to have some chemistry going. I'm afraid we won't be seeing too much of the deputy in the future, Veronica doesn't seem like the type who'd string him along and that kiss between her and Logan had the feel of a major plot development.

I really like Joey Lauren Adams and enjoyed her role in this. Really there was so much good in this ep, I could go on and on. Mac the computer whiz had a great little conversation with that kid who was out for revenge, and the little scene with the stoner kid asking Veronica out was priceless. Maybe the best episode so far, and next week we get Aly again. :D

ETA: Forgot to mention that Kristen Bell was on Conan tuesday night, not talking about VM as much as the debut showings of the film Reefer Madness on Showtime this weekend, should be worth watching for those who have Showtime.

I loved everything about last night's ep except for the Logan/Veronica kiss. Why do writers like putting the bad boys and the good girls together? Logan is not my favorite person and he has a history of cheating. I really like Deputy Leo, and I am afraid he is going to get hurt.

Next week it looks like Weevil may be the guilty party. I have still have no idea who Lily's killer is.
