Re: passports

Postby urnofosiris » Mon Feb 02, 2004 5:41 am

There are a lot of countries where you can´t get into if your passport expires within the next 6 months (usually from the date of your departure from that country), maybe that is where this info you heard comes from, they mixed it up. With a brand new passport you are quite ok.

This is some info I found for the UK:

www.languagecourse.net/visa/england.php3

Quote:
PASSPORT

Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond intended date of departure from the UK required by all nationals except:

(a) nationals of EU countries with a valid national ID card for tourist visits not exceeding 3 months;

(b) nationals of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway and Switzerland holding a valid national ID card for touristic/social visits of less than 6 months and in possession of a British Visitor's Card available from travel agencies.

DrG, thank you for the information, cause all of this has been soo confusing for me. I had no idea there was this much involved just to go see my girlfriend!:gnome

I have one more concern i hope you can help me put to rest. I have a stop over in Brussels for 2hrs(not leaving the airport) Do i need anything other then the passport?

Thanks to anyone that can help me get all this straightened out, you guys rock!!:bow

:D

Thank you so very much DrG for spending to time to help me get this all figured out*hugs you*:flower

Well you won´t pass through customs, but even if you did, you don´t need a visum to get into Belgium if you have a valid US passport.

question

Postby Infinite Astronaut » Tue Feb 10, 2004 8:04 pm

Riddle me this bat man (girl? woman? women? people?)

You all know the little label we have under our names, like "blessed wanna be" or "floating rose" that distinguish how many posts we've posted?

I don't think mine is appearing. :crash

Is there something I can do to change this?

Anyway, watch it appear after I post this. Oy vay.

(It's like walking into a tech support office and finding that the problem fixed itself upon passing through the doorway.)

Oh look at that. It didn't change. Further proof I'm not going crazy. It does tells how many posts I've added though.

Artificial Insemination

Postby Flawedsofty » Wed Feb 18, 2004 4:18 pm

I wasn't sure if I should post this here or start a new thread or what, but I'm sure if this isn't the place it will get moved. So here it goes. My partner and I would like to have a baby. We don't have any sperm banks in our area that let us do the insemination at home. We have seen spermbanks online that you can order from and have it shipped to you, but we aren't sure if they are legit and safe. So I guess what I'd like to know is if anyone knows a place that is safe and legit. Or even knows of a place where you can get this kind of information. We've looked everywhere online and off, and can't seem to find any information. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Sperm Banks

Postby babyblue » Fri Feb 20, 2004 9:53 am

Hi Sara,

These two websites are a good place to start looking.

The Human Rights Campaign has a list of accredited sperm banks and their policies concerning insemination. www.hrc.org/Content/Navig..._Banks.htm

The Lesbian Mom's page reviews several sperm banks. www.lesbian.org/moms/drs_sb.htm

Good luck!

Levels

Postby BBOvenGuy » Fri Feb 27, 2004 2:18 pm

Ummm, is there still a problem with the posting levels? According to the FAQ, mine was supposed to change at 2501, but it didn't. :

"The stories we tell - that's us explaining how we think the world works. Once we speak it, once we say it aloud, that makes it real for us - and real for everyone else who hears it too. When we tell a story, we invite people to visit our reality. We invite them to move in. Our stories are the reality we live in." - David Gerrold, The Martian Child

How do I get this blasted thing to stop emailing me?

Postby Sally McFine » Mon Mar 08, 2004 10:27 pm

The first time I posted in the Introduction Thread I chose to have the system email me every time there was a reply. Okay, a mistake. But I went to my Control Center and then back to the original post in the Intro thread and neither of them indicate the board should be emailing me every time there's a new post.

I did screw up and accidentally posted twice, and one of the posts was deleted (perhaps by the moderators?) - so could that post be the culprit?

Have you looked at the bottom of the intro thread?

Mine says:

Yours should have a link at the very bottom of the thread that lets you unsubscribe to a thread.

It should be on the left at the bottom but above the lovely w/t pictures at the bottom.

You didn't specify if you need certain features or space/ bandwidth...

I'm using www.enhancedhost.com and have recommended them to a few friends. They have a promotion on for the next few days, check "Latest News" on the forums at www.aussieforum.com for details.

Tarot decks

Danae - Most major bookstore chains sell tarot decks. Borders has a huge selection. Be careful you'll discover that each is so different and you might become addicted.
