Woo and Hoo

Postby Tibbs » Sat Jun 14, 2003 10:43 pm

Ahhhh

It feels nice to be somewhat content again. I mentioned in a post that my best friend was hurt badly in a car accident. Her hand was like crushed. She is finally home and the doc's say it's looking good. She'll definatly be able to use it again, just not so much in the near future. Lot's of therepy and all that, but she's happy so I am happy and the rotten jerk who's fault it was, is in a lotta trouble < nods head>.

Oh and I get to go to The Gathering in a few weeks then on mother/daughter vacation, then camping. I am so thrilled to actually be doing things this summer, unlike last year where I worked all the freaking time.

Final note: Got season 4 today. Watched up to "Pangs". I forgot how funny that episode is. Tomorrow though we indroduce :tara . Woo and HOO!:dance

I gotta get through work first though. Ugh, in what twisted world do they make people work on Sunday. Oh, heh, that's right. HERE.

Night all

First of all, I glad to see so many happy kitties! Tibbs, it does sound as though you are going to have a lovely summer.

I hope work doesn't get you down too much....just think about Tara appearing soon :) :tara

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this..... I was sent it in an email.

It is Father's Day here in the UK and it seemed appropriate to share it.

"

Daddy's Day at School

Her hair was up in a ponytail

Her favorite dress tied with a bow.

Today was Daddy's Day at school,

And she couldn't wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,

That she probably should stay home.

Why the kids might not understand,

If she went to school alone.

But she was not afraid;

She knew just what to say.

What to tell her classmates

Of why he wasn't there today.

But still her mother worried,

For her to face this day alone.

And that was why once again,

She tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school,

Eager to tell them all.

About a dad she never sees

A dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in back,

For everyone to meet.

Children squirming impatiently,

Anxious in their seats.

One by one the teacher called,

A student from the class.

To introduce their daddy,

As seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,

Every child turned to stare.

Each of them was searching,

For a man who wasn't there.

"Where's her daddy at?"

She heard a boy call out.

"She probably doesn't have one,"

Another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,

She heard a daddy say,

"Looks like another deadbeat dad,

Too busy to waste his day."

The words did not offend her,

As she smiled up at her Mom.

And looked back at her teacher,

Who told her to go on.

And with hands behind her back,

Slowly she began to speak.

And out from the mouth of a child,

Came words incredibly unique.

"My Daddy couldn't be here,

Because he lives so far away.

But I know he wishes he could be,

Since this is such a special day.

And though you cannot meet him,

I wanted you to know.

All about my daddy,

And how much he loves me so.

He loved to tell me stories

He taught me to ride my bike.

He surprised me with pink roses,

And taught me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,

And ice cream in a cone.

And though you cannot see him,

I'm not standing here alone.

"Cause my daddy's always with me,

Even though we are apart

I know because he told me,

He'll forever be in my heart"

With that, her little hand reached up,

And lay across her chest.

Feeling her own heartbeat,

Beneath her favorite dress.

And from somewhere in the crowd of dads,

Her mother stood in tears.

Proudly watching her daughter,

Who was wise beyond her years.

For she stood up for the love

Of a man not in her life.

Doing what was best for her,

Doing what was right.

And when she dropped her hand back down,

Staring straight into the crowd.

She finished with a voice so soft,

But its message clear and loud.

"I love my daddy very much,

He's my shining star.

And if he could, he'd be here,

But heaven's just too far.

You see he was a fireman

And died just this past year

When airplanes hit the towers

And taught Americans to fear.

But sometimes when I close my eyes,

It's like he never went away."

And then she closed her eyes,

And saw him there that day.

And to her mother's amazement,

She witnessed with surprise.

A room full of daddies and children,

All starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,

Who knows what they felt inside.

Perhaps for merely a second,

They saw him at her side.

"I know you're with me Daddy,"

To the silence she called out.

And what happened next made believers,

Of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in that room could explain it,

For each of their eyes had been closed.

But there on the desk beside her,

Was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.

And a child was blessed,

if only for a moment,

By the love of her shining bright star.

And given the gift of believing,

That heaven is never too far

They say it takes a minute to find a

special person, an hour to

appreciate them, a day to love them, but

then an entire life to forget them.

Send this phrase to the people you'll never

forget and remember to send

it also to the person that sent it to you.

It's short message to let them know that

you'll never forget them.

If you don't send it to anyone, it means

you're in a hurry and that

you've forgot your friends.

Take the time... to live and love.

Until eternity. God bless"

I am really happy because I came back from the Southside festival in Germany this morning...and I saw:

Asian Dub Foundation, Counting Crows, Underworld, Radiohead :laugh , International Pony, Goldfrapp, Guano Apes, Coldplay, Sigur Ros and Skin.

My friends and I had the most awesome times...we were dirty as hell and sunburnt and drunk but it was so totally worth it.

And I've been wanting to see Skin in concert for years - ever since I bought my first Skunk Anansie CD five years ago.

Go see Nerf Herder (and their excellent support band No Comply) and Four Star Mary on their UK tours. Especially Nerf Herder who KNOW how to work a crowd, an excellent concert in Liverpool where I fell over 5 times (3 times moshing to the buffy theme, where my baby strumed the guitar), almost got tripped up by a microphone wire twice, and got a marriage proposal (from a guy who was impressed by my slightly ott moshing:whistle )

AND the nerf herder gig was 14+ so bonus for any younger fans out there

Cats, cats, cats

Postby MadeinNZ » Sat Jun 28, 2003 6:15 am

I'm happy because I finished cat-sitting and the cat survived!! Some thought it was foolish of me to say yes to looking after a households treasured pet - mostly cause I'm allergic .. and aren't terribly fond of the little critters. But Rap and I bonded in the end - although it was a bit touch and go when she woke me up this morning by licking my armpit!

Okay, I probably won't get my dream job---I'll be thrilled beyond belief to just get an interview. Nevertheless, I can say at this moment that this is the FREE-EST I've felt in about . . . 11 years! :banana :pinky :bounce :dumbo

Good for you! irishwonder! :applause

Today, I'm in the mood of praise everyone!!

Because, well, I posted in crappy feelings thread before 'bout my sudden movie project that the prof. gave me last week.

Holy that! I actaully finished it in time ( She gave me a week for this. And I was so devastate and tried. :rolleyes ) And presented it infront of the entrie class!! AND THEY LOVED IT!!! THE PROF. LOVED IT TOO!!! Although it's just a short scene but I managed to work something with a style out of that lame script. ( She said my work was outstanding! ) Beside, it's a Directing class which it's a big challange for every film students here. And I done it so well. I proved that I can do it! Actually, I even put a pressure on some of the students!!! :glasses Well, but they will be done with great work also. It's not that hard. ( Now, look who's talking! )

WAY TO GO, FUZZ!!! :rofl

Sorry for long post for the "me only" propose. Just I'm really happy. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!!

Oh, one more thing. Another reason of this pround post is that I turned that " Farewell to a friend " script into gay vibe scene. So...:pride ( Weird enough, my macho actor secretly turned to be gay. My gaydar was *beep* *beep* all the time but I afraid to point out. Until his best friend told me that he's gay but just haven't come out yet and I was like " Oh, I knew " :eyebrow Okay, that's another story. )

Hi Everyone.

I just had what was probably the best ball game I've ever played in my life. I was at bat 4 times with 4 hits including 2 singles, a double and a triple. I scored all 4 times I was on base with 8 runs batted in. I had 6 catches in center field which is not my normal position. It was just an all around great game for me. We won 15-2. The team we played is ranked number 1 in our league too. My team gave me the game ball and they all signed it for me.

Well, I'm off to the bar for my promised steak dinner.

HAPPY! I have recently become obsessed with Melissa York, the drummer from the band The Butchies. I was doing research last night to see what else she played on, and I saw that she was on the Bitch and Animal album Sour Juice and Rhyme and I went "What? Bitch and Animal don't have an album called Sour Juice and Rhyme!" and researched it a bit more and found this and realized that the album comes out today and so much with the happy!

I heart Melissa York.

it's been 3 of my happiest days this year. for the first time, i'm spending time with my dad without needing to fight for attention. anyway... i don't get too much attention normally... with my oh-so-great sister and my only-son brother. but this three days so far has been fabulous. i spend time talking to my dad about stuff we like to do. fix up the new tv set and dvd player (electronics these days aren't just plug and play easy) and watch movies like 28 days later, the others and dinotopia miniseries on dvd. another one or two more days before i go back to KL and face job hunting and stress galore. but these few days... definitely makes up a lot of the stressful and painful days before.
