Christmas Carols

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE REPLIES, IT MEANS ALOT TO ME

Disclaimer: Characters do not belong to me

Note: I borrowed a scene from the TV show 'Friends', so if anything seems familiar, it's a Thanksgiving episode.

~~~
After the six friends had hung out together for awhile, congratulated the newly engaged couple, and talked a bit Xander, Buffy, and Dawn went off for a bite to eat, hungry from the flight.
Anya, on the other hand, chose to stay back with Willow and Tara, eager to show the two girls her book of dresses.
Willow and Tara were sitting on their queen sized hotel bed with an excited Anya between them, Willow had to fight the urge to push Anya away and was secretly hoping she'd just leave with Xander to their own hotel room so she could finish what was...unfinished...with Tara.
But Anya had other plans.
Willow and Tara were completley exhausted as they were forced to endure listening to Anya blab on about her various plans for the wedding, and what dresses she thought Willow and Tara should wear.
The ex-demon was sprawled on her stomach, flipping excidetley through a book of dresses, which to Willow and Tara, were completely and utterly HIDEOUS.
We're talking 'I'd rather hang myself then be seen wearing that' or 'I'd rather go naked down the aisle than wear that poor excuse for fabric.' kind of a dress.
They were horrendous, and that is alot to say because Willow and Tara were not all that picky in what they wore.
They just wore what was comfortable...even if they didnt quite match.
But they were not going to wear anything in that book, no matter how comfortable it was.
Absolutley.
Positively.
NOT!
"Now look at this." Anya pointed in sheer excitement at a purple dress on the page, looking up at Willow and Tara. "Isnt this pretty?" she asked the two girls, who were honestly horrified. Tara gulped loudly, worry frowns invading her face while Willow's eyes were as wide as saucers, the dress was HIDEOUS!
It wasn't even a wedding dress, it was definitley something else.
"It's purple." Willow said deadpanned, staring at the page Anya was pointing to, she looked to Tara who just shrugged.
"What's wrong with purple?" Anya retorted defensively. "Purple is a great color...it's a lesbian color." she pointed out with a nod of her head, the case was closed to her.
"Purple is NOT a lesbian color, Anya." Willow said slowly so Anya could digest the information, sometimes it took a few minutes.
"Yes it is." Anya said quickly, popping her head from the magazine she was buried in.
"Tara, tell her." the redhead pleaded to her fiancee. "Tell her it's not a lesbian color."
"Um...I think purple means royalty." Tara contributed her part in the absurd conversation.
"See?" Willow smiled at Anya, happy that she had been proved right, as always. She smiled a thanks to her lover, who just winked back.
"Well, it's still a great dress." Anya insisted, eyeing the purple fabric on the page.
"What do you think, Tara?" she asked the blonde beside her who had been eerly quiet the entire time Anya had been discussing her various plans.
Tara didn't want to say anything, she was just utterly speechless at all of Anya's suggestions.
"Um, I wouldn't wear it." Tara shook her head lightly, glancing up at Willow who was nodding her head in agreement.
"Why not?" Anya sat up a bit, clearly offended, frowning in confusion. "What's wrong with it?"
"Well, for one, it has these huge, horrendous shoulder pads, and two, it's purple!" Willow stood up from the bed, cringing at the mere thought of wearing the horrendous dress, wagging her index finger wildly at the page in front of Anya.
"It's not even a good purple, like lavendar or something, it's a DARK purple." she pointed out in a hurry. "It's the color of Barney!" the redheads eyes widened at the realization.
"If you think I'm going down the aisle, looking like a giant purple dinosaur, you have another thing coming." Willow was about to go off her head, ready for another round of babbling.
Tara just giggled at the cluless Anya and a wide eyed Willow.
"Tara, this is not funny." Willow said seriously at her girlfriend, her arms crossed in front of her.
Tara just managed to giggled more.
"I was just trying to help." Anya said in defeat, slumping her shoulders slightly.
"We know you mean well." Tara said softly, trying to comfort the fallen ex-demon who seemed genuinly put down as all of her effort of helping were, in the end, shot down.
"But we just don't think that the dresses you've shown us are really right for us." she finished, her eyes locked on the ex-demon, seeing if she had digested what she had said.
Anya lifted her head, but said nothing.
"Yeah, Anya..." Willow started, calming down considerably after her minor tirade, taking a deep breath. Anya seemed honestly upset, which surprisingly unsettled the redhead. "We appreiciate everything you are doing , it's so sweet, and I love you for it, but--"
"What did you say?" Anya's head popped up, turning towards Willow who was standing beside her.
Tara watched silently in amusement.
"What?" Willow asked, honestly confused. Not knowing what Anya was talking about, not registering what she had just said.
"You said that you loved me." Anya said, her eyes beaming.
"No, I didn't." Willow insisted her eyes widening suddenly, remembering what she had inadvertently said. She continued to deny uttering those words, confused at why she had said them in the first place.
"Yes, you did." Anya continued to persist, stepping a bit closer, not letting the shocked redhead off the hook.
"No, No, no." Willow shook her head to shake off the flashbacks.
"No, I didn't." she said again. "I just said 'I appriciate everything that you are doing, it's so sweet, and then I just stopped talking." Willow moved her hands in front of her like a shield, stepping a few ways back.
"You love me." Anya said again, ignoring the redhead, grinning hugely at her retreating form, her eyes sparkling in self-satisfaction and not to mention surprise.
"No, I don't." Willow denied, shaking her head wildly, her eyes looked like two giant frisbees.
The redhead looked at her lover for help, her eyes pleading, but she only received a shrug as a response. Tara continued to watch the two in amusement, stifling her laughter.
"You LOVE me." Anya got up from the bed, closing the magazine in front of her, she took a few steps closer to the shocked redhead. "You just said it." she smiled wickedly.
"Stop it, stop it, no, I don't!" Willow took a large step back, shaking her head at the turn of events. " I really don't." she pushed her arms forward, blocking Anya from coming any closer.
"You love me!" Anya rushed forward, gathering Willow in a tight, breath-stealing hug.
Willow was speechless, her eyes looked like a deer caught in headlights, she glanced at Tara who was still sitting on the bed, smiling at them.
Willow stood shell-shocked as Anya held her tightly, her face buried in Willow's chest like a child hugging a large Barney mascot. Willow finally brought her arms to hug the ex-demon, patting Anya's back a bit uncomfortably.
"As a friend." Willow said after a moment, softly. " I love you as a friend." she added honsetly, patting Anya's back once more before pulling back.
"You do?" Anya lifted her head at Willow, her eyes a bit misty. Not too misty, but still wet.
"Yeah, well..." Willow started, a bit embarrassed and uncomfortable at her revelation. "Blame Xander." she joked, lightening up the mood. "Anybody who loves him that much can't be too bad." she shrugged.
"I will." Anya nodded, turning her head to the blonde on the bed, who just smiled back. "Do you love me too?" she asked Tara, her eyes shining.
Tara laughed at Anya's query. "Sure."
"Yay!" Anya rushed forward to the queen sized bed, hugging Tara tightly, almost squeezing the life out of her.
"Can't breathe." Tara managed to voice, as Anya let go slightly.
"Yeah, get off my fiancee." Willow stomped her foot at the sight of her fiancce and the ex-demon on the bed...together.
"Oh." Anya shrugged. "Sorry."
"It's okay." Tara assured, patting Anya's back reassuringly.
Anya really needed to calm down.
"Okay" Willow started to get perturbed, willing the sappiness to stop. "We all love each other, blah, blah, blah..." she babbled in a hurry, brushing the moment off, waving her hands at the two.
"Now, about that magazine, as much as I appreiciate it Anya, I don't think either of us will be caught dead wearing anything in there."
"That's fine." Anya said softly, glancing at the closed magazine on the bed. "Okay." she shrugged it off.
"Really?" she questioned slowly, shocked that the ex-demon had let it go so quickly. She seemed to passionate about is a moment ago.
"You sure you're okay about that?" Tara asked from her seat on the bed, she glanced at the magazine at her side and flipped through the pages, her eyes narrowed at what laid inside.
"Well, sure." Anya said matter of factly. "I have dozens of other magazines."
Willow and Tara rolled their eyes, exhaling slowly.
Anya just smiled. "About the burlap..."
~~~

Meanwhile:

"Isn't New York great?" Dawn asked Buffy and Xander as she took a huge bite of her cheesburger, before stuffing some curly fries into her mouth hungrily. "Especially during Christmas time, I'm really loving the snow."

"Well, I gotta say, it is a big change from Sunnydale." Xander mumbled with his mouth full, a small chewed-up french fry came flying out of his mouth, landing in front of Buffy's plate.

"Ew, Xander!" Buffy grimaced at the sight, completley grossed out.

"Oh, oops." Xander realized what had happened and reached down to pick up the fallen fry, sticking it back into his mouth.

Dawn and Buffy bith groaned in disgust.

"What?" Xander asked, oblivious, chewing his fry.

"Nothing." Buffy said quickly, shaking her head at her friend.

"So, Willow and Tara, getting married." Dawn changed the subject. "I can't wait."

"Me, neither." Xander responded, nodding his head in agreement. "I wonder who the groom is?"

"Well none of them are." Buffy shrugged. "But if we were to say who, it would definitley be Willow." she said adamantly, looking at her sister who seemed to agree.

Willow was definitley the butch.

Xander laughed at the two girls. "Definitely Willow."

"How do you think Willow and Tara are doing with Anya?" Dawn asked after a moment, sipping her giant milkshake.

"Anya's probably driving the two crazy."

The three friends all seemed to agree.

~~~
"So...that's what burlap is..." Anya continued to blather at the two girls, showing Willow and Tara a huge dictionary sized book that contained various pictures and documents of burlap dresses. "I'ts really just a coarse king of fabric made out of Asian herbs and glossy fibers...way better than the purple."
Willow and Tara both sighed in frustration.
It would be a long, long day. Maybe they should just elope.
Personally, I think it would be cool to have them walking down the aisle naked, but that wouldn't really fit into a G-rated fic...
I believe in the madness called "now."
heehee! I can hear Willow babbling that. :)
Still loving the story. My family used to go up to New York at Xmas time to see Rockefeller Center, the tree, the skaters, and all the decorated store windows. New York really is a special place at Xmas - it definitely has a magical feel that time of year.
Christmas Carols
Renee85
I realized how much spelling errors were in my last post, and I assure you that will NOT happen again, I just want to let everyone know that I am very educated and I am 100% great in spelling, just fantastic. It's just when I try to type fast and ignore the spelling check, well....disaster happens.
So, I'll edit the last one and post this new one. Plus, my sister deleted the Microsoft Words and I'm stuck with Wordpad which has no spelling check. 'shrugs' I can't promise no spelling error, but I can promise less.
P.S. Thanks a billion for all the replies. More replies means more posts, even if there isn't any replies, I'll post anyway. 'shrugs'
Anya and Xander had retired to their own hotel room together, leaving Willow and Tara with the two Summer's sisters. Right now they just wanted to hang out for a while, later they would go out and do something fun, probably with Anya and Xander as well, it was just rude to leave them out.
And as much as they hated to admit it, Anya can be alot of fun, she did bring alot of comedic relief to the group.
Dawn and Tara were sprawled on the floor near the foot of the bed watching the cartoon, Spongebob Squarepants, the teen had her head resting comfortably on blonde's shoulders, the two were utterly engrossed at the television screen, just enjoying being together.
Occasionally they were laughing in sudden outbursts then a few soft giggles could be heard.
Buffy and Willow turned their heads to look at the two, their smiles softening at the sight. They truly did have a unique friendship and bond, they did love each other dearly, that was for sure.
"Cute, huh?" Buffy asked her friend from the top of the bed beside Willow, indicating Tara and Dawn.
"Yeah." Willow sighed, a smile gracing her face as she turned to look at the two on the floor of their room once again.
Dawn was watching the screen intently, although now Willow saw that Tara's attention was momentarially on the teen, the blonde paused to look at Dawn once, smiling softly at the head that was nestled on her shoulder, then Tara's hand began to stroke Dawn's hair.
After the moment passed, Tara returned her attention to the television screen. "Tara loves Dawn, the little sister she never had, I guess."
Buffy's eyes went back the her sister and her friend on the floor, she smiled once, almost sadly. "Yeah." she said softly.
Willow caught Buffy's look, her forehead crinkled in concern. "Hey..." Willow started to say, bringing Buffy's gaze to look at her. "What is it?" she asked gently, touching her friends shoulder.
Buffy just shook her head lightly, brushing it off. "Nothing."
Willow raised her eyebrows, not letting Buffy let it go, something was wrong, a best friend could sense this.
"You're my best friend, Buffy." Willow almost whispered, so Dawn and Tara wouldn't hear, the TV was pretty loud in volume so it wouldn't be much of a problem, but she kept her voice low anyway. "You can tell me anything."
"I know." Buffy sighed, shaking her head again, she looked to the comfortable pair on the floor again, saying nothing.
Willow followed her friends gaze, realizing what Buffy was looking at, she turned her head to look at Buffy who was still staring at the two, her eyes were a bit sad, not sobbing, but obviously sad. "Dawn?" the redhead questioned softly.
Buffy shook her gaze away from her sister so she could look at Willow, who just waited patiently for an answer, her eyes not pushing, just comforting.
"I just hope Dawn doesn't feel that Tara is the older sister she never had." Buffy admitted, her voice low. "I know I haven't really been there the way that I should have."
"Dawn loves you, Buffy." Willow said in a strong yet soft voice, rassuring her friend. "I know that with all my heart, Dawn loves you more than anyone." the redhead made sure Buffy had no doubts. "And you ARE there, every single minute." Willow wanted Buffy to absorb everything she was saying.
That she knew.
Buffy needed to know.
"I don't doubt that." Buffy shoook her head at Willow, briefly glancing at the pair on the floor again.
"It's just sometimes...sometimes, I want it to be me who watches Spongebob Squarepants with Dawn, that it's me who goes with Dawn for a milkshake and a movie." Buffy managed to explain, her eyes locked to Tara and Dawn, while Willow's eyes were locked on Buffy.
"But that's Tara's thing." Buffy continued. "That's what Dawn and Tara do together, if I do it...it's like I'm intuding or something." she finished, her shoulder slumped.
"I don't think Dawn would feel that way." Willow said gently, trying to catch Buffy's eye. "Or Tara."
"You think?" Buffy's voice was meek and low, her eyes finally met those of Willow. "I won't be intrudey-gal?"
"I doubt that." Willow shook her head, smiling at Buffy, she shook her head towards Dawn who was still wrapped around Tara on the floor, giggling like a child. "As far as the bonding thing, now's the time to start."
"Huh?" Buffy was confused. "You want me to just push Tara away and take her place?" she asked with a smirk. "I don't think she'd like that."
"Goddess Buffy, no." Willow laughed at her friend. "I was just thinking we get out of here, we're in a great city and the four of us are stuck indoors watching cartoons?" Willow voiced, not really believing that they were spending their couple of days in NewYork watching TV. "We need to be free, not stuck in this square room like a bird in a cage." she sat up a bit. "Let freedom ring."
"What were you thinking?" Buffy asked Willow, her eyebrows furrowed, smirking slightly at Willow's small speech.
"Well, I want to spend some time with Tara, maybe just walk around for a bit." the redhead stated. "Maybe you and Dawn can do something sisterly." Willow shrugged.
"Sisterly?" Buffy questioned.
Willow shrugged again. "Oh!" Willow suddenly remembered, bending down from the bed to dig through a black bag, she came back up carrying two pairs of skates. "Tara and I have these, you and Dawn can borrow them." she suggested with a small grin. "You can teach Dawn how to skate, maybe do some spins?" she made a motion with her hands, spinning them around like a tiny tornado.
"I can do some spins." Buffy nodded, with a small smile. "Do you think Dawn would want to?" she asked after a moment, frowning.
"Oh, sure." Willow waved a hand at Buffy, adament that she would be. "You two do your thing, Tara and I will do our thing, and Xander and Anya can tag along." Willow explained matter of factly. "It'll be fun."
"Okay." Buffy finally nodded with a smile.
"Good." Willow smiled at her friend, the two went back to watch their two friends on the floor. "We'll wait until the show is done." she added. "Hopefully there'll be no marathon."
"Hopefully." Buffy nodded her agreement.
The two friends were quiet as they watched the cartoon program.
After about fifteen minutes, Spongebob Squarepants was over, and that was Willow and Buffy's cue to suggest a day outside. Buffy needed to reconnect with Dawn, and Willow wanted to steal a few smoochies behind some trees, see more sights that they still haven't yet seen.
The engaged couple needed their time alone, that was for sure.
Dawn and Tara untangled from each other when the program was over, attempting to stand up. Tara got up from her seat on the floot and instinctivley went to Willow, wrapping her arms around the redhead lovingly.
"Hey, baby." Tara voiced tenderly, kissing the redhead's forehead softly, she looked up afterwards to smile at Buffy, who smiled back.
Willow got up from their bed and kissed Tara softly on the lips, it was a quick kiss, but it still held the same amount of love.
Willow looked at Buffy, silently telling her that it was her time to ask Dawn about the ice skating. Buffy caught the look and glanced at Dawn who was coming towards the bed.
"Hey, Dawnie." Buffy asked a bit hesitantly, glancing at Willow who just waved a hand in encouragment. "What do you say we do something, just us." Buffy finished quickly, silently hoping.
"Like what?" Dawn furrowed a brow.
Buffy leaned down to pick up the pairs of Willow and Tara's ice-skates. "We can go ice-skating, I could teach you how to do some stuff." her voice was hopeful.
Dawn's eyes lit up, which made Buffy smile. "Oooh, fun!" Dawn hopped a bit, rushing towards Buffy, grabbing a pair of skates from her sister's grasp, she paused to look a the skates, then brought Buffy in a tight hug. "You sure you can teach me, without me falling on my face?"
"Well, I can't promise anything." Buffy managed to joke.
"Hey!" Dawn playfully pushed her sister back. "You promise?" she questioned again, seriously.
"I promise." Buffy sincerely answered, looking into Dawn's eyes. "I'll be right there with you." she said softly when she saw Dawn nod.
"Okay." Dawn shrugged, bringing her arms around her shorter sister's shoulder. "It'll be fun."
Willow watched the two sister's interaction with a smile, Tara watching as well. Willow was glad that Dawn had no qualms about spending time with a sister, they needed this time to themselves. If not just to bring Buffy out of her self doubts about caring for Dawn.
This time together will bring Buffy's fear to an end, Tara could never replace Buffy as a sister, she just added to it. Tara was Dawn's other sister, and that was okay.
"You guys will be careful, huh?" Tara advised from her postion in Willow's arms.
"Yes, Tara." Dawn rolled her eyes at the blonde. "Geeze, you're worse than Buffy."
Willow caught Buffy's eyes, seeing her friend smile in amusement.
"Just promise me?" Tara softly demanded. "Willow almost got trampled the last time we went skating." she looked at Willow with a grin.
"Hey!" Willow seemed offended, but she was blushing. "I started out great, I just couldn't stop and I managed to crash into a very huge and might I say hard wall." she crossed her arms in front of her, feeling Tara pull her closer. Willow relaxed into the embrace, leaning into her lover.
"We'll be careful." Buffy nodded, pulling Dawn for a hug. "Just try to avoid Anya, she may want to tag along." she said in a hushed whisper, hoping beyong hope Anya won't want to ice-skate as well.
An ice-skating ex-demon on the ice equals disaster in the highest.
Just then Anya and Xander burst through their door, Anya was carrying a huge grin when she saw Willow. She ran towards the redhead and pulled her into a giant, unexpected hug. Willow was as shocked as ever and Anya hugged her tighter. "Hey, Willow." Anya said in an excited voice. "Who loves me?" she asked playfully.
"Umm..." Willow hesitantly started but couldn't say the words.
"Who loves me?" Anya continued to push, pulling out of the hug, staring at Willow with a pleading eye.
"Um...I do?" Willow voiced, she couldn't believe she was saying this, in front of the gang no less.
She was going to kill Anya soon, the ex-demon might not be making it back to Sunnydale if she kept this up.
Willow was sure of it.
"Yeah, you do!" Anya said excitedley, going back to Xander's side.
Willow rolled her eyes, sighing loudly. Tara giggled at her lover.
Xander saw what Dawn was holding and questioned her first. "You guys going ice-skating?" he asked the youngest Summer's sister.
"Oh, yeah." Dawn shrugged at Xander. "Buffy and me, she's going to teach me some spins."
"You can do spins?" Xander was impressed at his friend, all thses years of knowing her and her didn't even know this. What more didn'y he know about his best friend.
"I can do alot of things." Buffy voiced in a confident stride. "I'm very versatile."
"I want to skate too!" Anya screamed from the corner of the room, this did not surprise anyone around her. Anya wanted to do everything, and she never wanted to be left out of anything. Apparently, the Summer's bonding day will have to be the Summer's and Anya bonding day. Still, it would be interesting to see Anya crash into a couple of trees and walls, maybe get trampled a little bit.
"That's fine." Dawn assured, looking forward to it. "But you'll need to rent those stinky shoes they have there, Buffy and I have Willow and Tara's." she stuck out her tongue at the ex-demon.
"I want Willow's." Anya demanded. "Since Willow loves me, I want Willow's." she stomped her foot.
"Anya, honey..." Xander took his girlfriend's shoulder sllighlty, pulling her back.
"No, Xander." Anya wasn't about to give up that easily. "I don't want those stinky shoe skates they have there, I want the nice shiny ones." she pointed at the ones that were in Dawn's hands. "I want Willow's."
"Anya they're not..." Dawn began but was interrupted, Anya grabbed the ice-skates from Dawn's arms and ran out of the room, Xander following after her. "Hey!"
"I can't believe that." Dawn asked shocked, she looked back at her sister with wide eyes. "Can you believe that?" she asked Buffy with a large frown.
"Don't we already know Anya?" Willow rolled her eyes at Dawn. "She has gone overboard with this whole love thing."
"Yeah, what is that all about?" Dawn and Buffy asked the redhead, really wanting to know why Anya was so chummy with Willow all of a sudden.
It was beyond weird.
"It's a long story." Willow sighed, shaking her head. "So, you can probably still catch Anya." she pointed at the door that was left open. Wanting the sisters to leave them for a bit, so she can have some alone time with Tara.
Dawn and Buffy sprinted out the door before anyone could so much as blink, Buffy carrying Tara's skates in her left hand.
Willow and Tara both shook their heads at their friends, chuckling.
"So, do you want to go see the sights, baby?" Willow asked her lover, gently squeezing her hand.
"I'd love to, Willow." Tara said softly. "I just want to be with you... it's a beautiful day out." she pointed out to her lover, who just smiled.
"It is." she nodded.
The two girls held each other as they walked out their hotel room together. They were looking forward to spending the day together, taking pictures of various sights, and just being together. Anya, Xander, Buffy, and Dawn could do whatever they wanted. Anya could do whatever she wanted with her skates, none of it mattered.
They knew what they wanted.
They wanted each other.
Willow fingered the ring that was nestled on the finger, smiling slightly at her hands, then she smiled at Tara who just smiled back. The day was going to be great.
Especially without Anya.
And everyone else.
~~~~

Dawn and Buffy ran out of the hotel in hopes to reach Anya in time to grab the skates out of her arms, Buffy didn't care much but Dawn was persistant, the teen saw Anya already nearing a cab.

Dawn ran as fast as she could so she could yank Anya's hair and grab the skates.

But it was too late, Anya and Xander were on their way to the ice rink...with Willow's skates. Dawn and Buffy were close enough to see Xander's apologetic face through the back window and a flash of blonde hair that they both knew were Anya's.

Dawn was beyond angry.

She was downright indignant.

"Shit." Dawn managed to utter a curse as she saw the cab leaving the curb, forgetting that her sister was at her side. Cursing was forbidden, especially in a 'G rated' fic.

"Hey!" Buffy slapped Dawn's shoulder, wagging a warning finger at her younger sister. The one thing their mother had taught them was that cursing was strictly forbidden. "No cursing."

"Sorry." Dawn apologized to Buffy, still a bit upset. "I just can't believe Anya, sometimes."

"That's why we love her, she's unpredictable." Buffy shrugged her shoulders, grabbing Dawn's shoulders in an embrace, trying to allieviate the situation as best as she can. "Besides, you can use Tara's skates, no harm no foul."

"What about you?" Dawn questioned her sister.

"I'm fine." Buffy assuring, brushing it off. "These are probably too big anyway" she indicated the skates in her hands. "My feet are teeny tiny." she looked down at her shoes and pointed at them, wiggling them somewhat, Dawn glancing at them in return.

"They are freakishly small." Dawn nodded, still staring at Buffy's small boots. "Why is that?" she questioned, her eyebrows furrowing. "And why am I taller than you?"

"Too many why's Dawnie." Buffy chuckled, which brought a smile to Dawn's face. She loved that they were finally bonding. "Why don't we just grab a cab and see if we can outrun Anya, maybe grab the skates out from her feet?"

"I can't wait to do that." Dawn mentioned. "Throw Anya off her feet." the teenager shrugged her shoulders. "Sounds great."

They were off to catch a cab, and hopefully catch Anya.

~~~~~
Willow and Tara walked out of their hotel room and out of the hotel, Willow made sure she had on her red and white colored sweater while Tara wore a plain blue one. Willow looked like a giant walking candy cane, but Tara thought she looked more adorable than ever.
Willow always looked adorabe to Tara.
They walked silently together, holding hands.
They had no destination.
No set place to go.
They just walked together.
Tara looked up to Willow after a few minutes of comfortable silence and continued to stare at her, Willow was still focused in front of her, not sensing Tara's gaze.
Tara smiled at Willow, memorizing her lover's features, even though she already had them memorized the first time she had seen the redhead.
Which seemed like forever ago, but felt like yesterday.
"I love you, Willow." Tara broke the silence of the air, her soft voice sending shills down Willow's body.
Willow looked to Tara, her heart soaring at the sight of her fiancee under the lights of the New York sky, they were definitley coming back here next Christmas.
Willow would make sure of it.
"I love you, too." Willow said, almost in a whisper, she smiled at Tara who just smiled back.
Tara blushed at their constant sappiness, as did Willow.
They continued to walk to an unknown destination. Today it was just them.
It was always just them when they were together.
Anya and Xander were already at the ice rink, Anya had quickly put on Willow's ice-skates while Xander was stuck wearing a pair of pink ones, the only one left with his size.
Xander was quite embarrassed that he had to wear the girly skates, which challenged his masculinity.
Anya was beyond excited to try ice-skating for the first time, already nearing the ice. A thousand plus years on the earth, and she has never tried ice-skating before, who knew?
Buffy and Dawn had arrived just a hair after they did, paying the cab driver a few bucks and then getting out of the cab. Dawn saw the figure of Anya a couple of good yards in front of them and then sped up, Buffy hurried to catch up with her sister.
As soon as Anya touched the ice with her skates, she skated beautifully. Which was a complete surprise.
"Hey!" Anya said excitedly to her boyfriend who just waved back. "Hey, I can skate!"
"Yeah, you can." Xander yelled at her girlfriend's skating form.
After a few minutes of amazing skating Anya was became out of control, crashing into the same wall Willow had. Xander rushed, wearing the pink skates, the her girlfriends side. While Dawn and Buffy remained helpless, watching on the sidelines.
"I'm fine!" Anya yelled aloud, her head poking up from the ice, a red mark on her forehead. "Tell Dawn and Buffy to stop staring at me!" she stood up, pointing at the two girls who were stifling their giggles.
They continued to giggle.
"Xander, tell them." Anya stomped her foot, just once, sending bits of ice flying in all directions.
"I wonder where Willow and Tara are." Dawn asked her sister, turning her gaze away from an angry Anya.
"I don't know." Buffy shrugged. "But I can't believe they missed this, Willow would be having a riot right now."
Dawn laughed just once, sitting on a nearby bench to try on Tara's skates.
~~~~

Willow and Tara continued to walk, still holding hands.

The night was just beginning.

The newly betrothed couple carried their walk down the New York avenues, relishing in their time together, enjoying the oeacefulness they always felt when they were alone.

Sometimes it was just good to feel like you were the only two people in the world.

Like no one could touch you.

Like no one else existed.

Ocassionally the two would stop at certain pionts to take photographs, some of sights, some of either of them, and most of the time they would stop unexpected people on the streets and ask them if they wouldn't mind taking a picture for them so they caould have a photo of each other...in each other's arms.

Willow and Tara in each others arms...always.

The rings on their fingers proved that, and even before then, the looks they would give each other proved the same.

It was true.

It was real.

It was forever.

It wasn't a crush, it wasn't a temporary infatuation, it was eternal.

Everlasting, endless...love.

And they had found that in each other, the amorousness that was all but rare.

Love that consumed them, love that soothed them, love that made you want to get up in the morning, love that made you want to go to sleep at night to get up in the morning, love that made you want to live.

And each and every day they spent together they intended to do just that.

"I love it here, Willow." Tara said in a gentle voice, turning her head to the right slightly so she could look into her lover's emerald eyes.

"I don't know...there's just something about the lights, the whole Christmas feel, that fact that I'm just with you, the fact that just walking with you down the street makes me so..." she shook her head lightly as all of her emotions threatened to consume her. "...happy."

Willow gave her lover a sweet smile, the kind of smile Tara would give her, the half-smile that melted her heart. "I feel exactly the same way." Willow smiled softly, bringing their joined hands to her lips, she kissed Tara's palm gently. "Being with you...I only hope it's forever."

Tara looked into Willow's eyes just once, before wrapping her arms around the redhead tenderly, bringing their faces to a close proximity.

"It is." The blonde whispered, her voice making Willow shiver into the night. "Just hold onto me, let me hold onto you..." Tara breathed in a delicate utterance of words, expressing her love with her soft voice. "And the rest will come to us."

"I just don't want to lose you." Willow said softly, her voice sounding in a hushed whisper, she brought her fingers to gently trace her lover's full lips delicately. "I don't want that to ever happen."

"You can't lose me." Tara said in an equally soft voice, but it was sure, it was adament. "How is that even possible?" she questioned gently. "How could you even think that?"

"How can I not, Tara?" the redhead asked, her heart breaking at the mere thought of it. "The way we live, what we go through, anything can happen."

"Well, you losing me isn't one of them." Tara's voice strengthened, forcing Willow to believe. Willow's fears were valid, but she knew in her heart that the gods and goddesses would never allow a travesity like that to happen, love like theirs were one in a billion, there was no way anyone would let their love end.

It would live on in the wind, floating throughout the universe, living in the particles of air and sun, long after they were both gone.

A million years from now.

An eternity later.

Their love would prosper.

"I want to believe." Willow managed to utter. "I want to believe that our futures are what we imagine it to be."

"Believe it." Tara just said, her voice was strong in conviction. "Don't think about what will be and focus on what is."

Willow chuckled at Tara's words, feeling suddenly better."You did it again, the whole making me feel better thing you're always good at."

"Yeah..." Tara chuckled as well. "But you know I'm right." the blonde looked into Willow's eyes agian, seeing her soul. "We'll have alot of obstacles, Willow...everybody does, but we'll end up where we want to in the end, I can promise you that."

"Swear it." Willow stated, her green eyes locked into blue.

"I swear." Tara kissed the tip of the redhead's nose . "I wouldn't have it any other way."

Willow smiled at Tara, as they continued their trek down the New York sidewaks, passing by various stores, cafe's, and coffee shops.

The two girls walked down the cemen flooring until they reached a glass window display, through the glass was a litter of furry kittens. It caught Willow's and Tara's eyes in an instant.

"Oh, cute!" Willow exclaimed to her lover as her eyes fell throught the clear glass, focusing on the kittens there. "Aren't they just the cutest things ever?"

"Very cute." Tara nodded, placing her hand gently onto Willow's shoulder as the redhead leaned forward slightly to look into the tranparent glass.

"Oooh, I like this one." Willow pointed to the black and white kitten that was pressing it's paws onto the glass, seemingly reaching out to the redhead. "She likes me already." she giggled at the sight.

"Who wouldn't?" Tara smirked. "You are completely irresistable, even to the little furry kitties."

"Don't I know it." Willow went back to stare at the furry creature who was now playing with a rather large ball of yarn. "Let's go inside and see these little kitties up close and personal."

Tara nodded with a smile and opened the door of the pet shop, letting her lover in.

The black and white cat that was pawing the glass in front of Willow just seconds before was now meowing softly, walking with it's little paws towards the redhead.

"It's like there's some kind of magnetic force, she's drawn to me like a fish on water." Willow voiced happily, moving her hand to gently pet the top of the small cat's tiny head. She smirking at the tiny feline, feeling it purr. "I've fallen in love."

"Yeah?" Tara tilted her head, motioning her hand to pet the top of the black and white cat's head. "Love at first sight?"

Willow lifted her head to look at her lover with shining eyes. "The way it was when I first saw you."

Tara smiled at her lover's words, chuckling a bit. "So..." Tara dragged out her words, petting the cat's head again. "You want to buy her?"

Willow's head popped up, surprised. "Really?"

"You're obviously infatuated." Tara explained. "And I think it goes both ways."

Willow thought of Tara's words for awhile, finally nodding. "It WOULD be a good experience for us." Willow said as she petted the kitten's head gently, the tiny feline began rubbing his face against the redhead's palm tenderly. "Before we have our own kids."

Tara's eyes widened. "Kids?"

"Well, yeah." Willow shrugged, still petting the kitten's head, she turned to meet Tara's eyes. "Not any time soon ofcouse, don't you want to have kids?"

"Ofcourse." Tara responded. "Kids are great, I love kids." she added quickly, shaking her head. "All with the kids."

"Me too." Willow nodded with a smile. "And I know it's going to be hard for us, but maybe we could adopt?"

Tara smiled sadly, briefly looking down.

Willow caught to look. "Tara..." the redhead consoled gently, bringing her arms around her soulmates waist. "Sweetie, don't be sad."

Tara just shook her head to get rid of her emotions.

"I just..." the blonde began, her voice thick. "I want a baby with your red hair, and my blue eyes..." Tara said softly, her eyes sad. "Our quirky tastes and your love of everything multi-colored..."

Willow chuckled at Tara's last statement.

"I hate the fact that we can't have kids together." Tara shook her head. "I hate it so much."

"We can." Willow said softly, squeezing Tara's hand gently. "And that baby will be ours, no matter how it comes into our lives."

"I know." Tara whispered, her smile softening. "So, you want to buy the kitty?" she managed to change the subject.

"I really do." the redhead anwered honestly. "But, I don't know..." she trailed off, shaking her head.

"What i it?"

"We're going back to California in less than a week, we'll have to fly her back...plus, I don't think the hotel allows pets."

"This will be a sneaky cat." Tara smiled at Willow, petting the kitten's head softly, rubbing it's ears between her fingers. "No one will even notice, she'll be living at the hotel for days and no one will even be the wiser."

"A sneaky cat, huh?" Willow questioned playfully with a slight smirk, stroking the top of the feline's head softly. "All with the mission impossible?"

"Willow, I know you." her blonde lover explained calmly, turning her head to face her. "You've fallen in love with this cat, you've bonded...you won't be able to leave this pet shop without her." she smirked at the redhead's wide eyes. "I'd have to drag you outta here, and that wouldn't be easy."

Willow blushed.

Tara was right, she was always right.

When Willow was attached to something, that was it. There was no way she was ever going to be able to leave it or get rid of it. Whether it be a gift of Tara's , a book she loved to read, her first laptop, her first straight A she recieved on her report card, which she had made a copy of.

Or anything else.

This cat was just the same, it would be impossible to let go.

Besides, Tara wouldn't want to let her go either, the small black and white kitten was beyond cute in the 'cuteness' meter. Topping the scales, really. It was just behind where Willow was on the scales.

"Okay, then!" Willow jumped up excitedly, gently picking up the tiny cat with her hands and cradling it in her arms. "We're TOTALLY getting her!”

“Are we sure it’s a ‘her’?” Tara lifted an eyebrow at Willow, studying the feiline with her eyes.

Willow lifted the cat above her head, stretching her arms as high it could go, peeking a look between the cat’s legs, she squinted. “I think it’s a girl, I don’t see any dangle berries hanging anywhere.” she shrugged.

Tara laughed aloud at Willow’s words.

“Dangle berries?” Tara was having a hard time controlling her laughter, she put her hands over her mouth in a loose attempt at stifling it. “DANGLE BERRIES?”

“Well...” Willow was chuckling as well. “It sounded right in my head, which was a word I never thought would ever be in my head, ever.”

“I hope not.” Tara giggled, shaking her head at the cuteness of her lover, Willow was definitley cuter in the ‘cuteness meter’, no doubt about it.

“Ooh!” Willow was beyond excited at the prospect that they had bought their first pet as a couple. “We need to get some stuff for her, why don’t you go and pay the cashier at the front desk, and I’ll look for some toys and stuff.” she moved forward, deeper into the store so she could browse the display shelves.

“Oh, don’t forget the kitty-litter box!” the blonde reminded her lover, as she saw the redhead dissapear deeper in the store aisles.

Tara motioned for a worker at the shop that she wanted to buy a kitten, the shop worker quickly picked up the tiny cat and money was exchanged.

Tara saw a small cat carrier at the side of her and made to buy that too, it seemed fairly comfortable and roomy. Besides, the cat needed something to be carried in to their hotel, it was a decent long walk back.

After paying for everything, Tara went to look for her lover.

“Will?” the blonde asked, searching the aisles, her eyes darted from place to place, until a flash of red hair caught her eye.

“What did you get?” she asked Willow who was carrying a truck load of toys and other objects in her arms and hands, Tara proceeded to take a few items from Willow so she could walk a bit easier, everything was about to topple over.

“Some toys.” Willow shrugged.

“Some?” Tara laughed at her lover, eyeing all that was in her arms. “Some seems like alot.”

“Well, Ms. Kitty Fantasitico needs all the toys possible, and I intend to spoil her.” the redhead said with a smile, seeing the tiny kitten which was now in the carrier. “Don’t you Ms. Kitty?” she asked the furry feline in her best baby talk voice she could muster.

“Ms. KItty Fantastico?” Tara questioned her lover, smiling at the unique, ultra cute name. “I love that.”

“You do?” Willow asked, walking forward a bit to the cash register. “I just came up with it while I was looking for some toys.” she shrugged. “Seems kinda long, but...whatever.”

“So, do you want to go straight to our hotel room, settle her in?” Tara asked her redheaded lover, bringing her arms around her, the two women walked together to the cash register.

"I really do." Willow nodded. "She might be hungry."

Tara smiled a half-smile at Willow as they neared the cash register, after paying for everything, they made their way back home.

~~~
Dawn, Buffy, Xander, and Anya were still at the ice rink. Anya had crashed only three times the entire time they'd been there and Dawn had crashed only once.
Buffy was having a great time bonding with her sister, teaching Dawn all the little tricks and tips she needed to know in order to become a better skater, Dawn was listening intently to all of Buffy's suggestions.
Everybody was having a great time.
Skating had been fun, and Dawn had immediately got the hang of it, much to Anya's dismay.
"Stop being a show off, Dawn!" Anya yelled at the teenager from the corner of the rink, holding tightly onto Xander's hand, who was flinching in pain, but hiding it.
"Who are you calling a show off, Miss. 'I crashed three times!' Dawn retorted.
"Hey!" Anya was offended, she began skating closer to Buffy and the teenager, her hands clenched, Xander following behind her. "I'm doing good!" the ex-demon turned to Xander. "Aren't I Xander?"
Xander nodded his head up and down. "Yes, Anya." he said softly, brushing his hand gently over Anya's back. "Dawn's just teasing."
"Oh." Anya sighed, smiling again. "Okay, then."
"Okay?" Xander tilted his head slightly. "You wanna stop for now, I'm kinda tired." he rubbed his forehead, his eyebrows arched in a frown.
"Okay!" Anya excitedly said aloud, pulling Xander closer to her. "I know what can energize you up." she exclaimed as they moved to a nearby bench to take off their skates. "We haven't done it for a couple of hours." she wagged her eyebrows suggestively.
Anya was so much of a sex fiend, it was ridiculous.
"Let's go to out hotel room!" Xander shot up from his seat on the chair as quickly as her could.
"We'll show Willow and Tara who the real masters are at the sex romps." Anya stated with a large grin. "They have nothing on us." the ex-demon grabbed her boyfriend's hand in a tight hold and led them away from the rink. Anya hurried forward along with Xander to their hotel room.
Dawn and Buffy overheard the entire conversation between the two and they both seemed to disagree. Willow and Tara could surprise them both, they didn't seem like sex fiends, but they definitley were there when it came to each other.
Dawn watched the two love-birds leave, shaking her head slightly. "So...where are we sleeping tonight?" Dawn asked her sister, tilting her head.
"Willow and Tara's." the slayer answered with a shrug. "If they'll let us."
Dawn just nodded, continuing to skate.
Great update, thank you. W/T shopping for a kitten very cute, but it's sad they can't have babies together like together.
And I can't believe buffy and dawn would invite themselves to w/t's at an obviously romantic time. It's one thing to go and surprise them, it's another to take away their privacy. grr! hee, thanks!
Mini Update:
--
Willow and Tara were slowly travering down the cement walkways of the city, all the while happily carrying their newest member of the family. The youthful feline with its black and white furry coat, seemed just as happy with her new parents.
Willow was beyond joyous, ecstatic really, that she had her furry creature safely in her arms, literally skipping the entire way home.
Tara followed closely behind just watching Willow with a small smile, her lover could be unbearably adorable at times, completely and utterly adorable.
As they carried through their stroll down the New York boulevards, silently walking down the paved pathways that lead to their hotel, Tara quietly reflected, reminiscing about a particular time awhile back, when her and Willow would lounge away at her college dorm, passing away the time, enjoying each others company.
Just being one.
Their hearts were entwined.
Their bodies were too.
She recalled the tender moment with pristine clarity.
Just like it was yesterday.
Always like it was yesterday.
~~~

Willow and Tara's sweat soaked bodies were tenderly joined together, merging as one. Willow's head was resting comforably across Tara's chest, the side of her face buried between two valleys of breasts, the redhead was sound asleep.

Tara wasn't, Tara was awake, and Tara was watching Willow.

Her soulmate, her lover, her everything.

Willow was utterly at peace, she found that peace with Tara, she had found that peace by just being with her...in her arms.

Around her.

Beside her.

In her dreams.

Anywhere with her would be peaceful, anywhere at all.

And right now, that place was on top of Tara's chest. It's where she slept, where she rested, where she had her dreams at night.

On top of Tara's chest.

Tara smiled softly, gently stoking Willow's red tresses, utterly soft touches, gentle soothing strokes.

Like feathers, smooth feathery fingertips. Her fingertips.

Willow was still asleep.

'My goddess, she's so beautiful.' Tara thought as she silkily traced Willow's hairline with a slender fingertip, silently memorizing each and every freckle and beauty mark on her lover's face and shoulders, quietly counting them in her head, remembering each feature and curve of her lover's body. 'How did I get so lucky?' the blonde surmised.

Willow shifted slightly from her place on Tara's chest, transferring her head to lay on Tara's right breast, the redhead sighed passionately in her sleep, a delicate and amorous moan escaping her lips.

A moan that sent shivers down the blonde's naked body, her heart pounding heavily but steadily in her chest.

It was the moan that made her heart beat in ways she never imagined it could.

A fast pounding in a fragile beat, a certain rhythm that told the blonde that it was Willow who her heart was pounding for.

It was all Willow.

It was always Willow.

Willow made her heart soar to the wind, her heart beat in a steady rhythm, her heart pound through her chest.

Willow always, even when she was peacefully asleep, even when she didn't even know it.

Willow did that.

Willow always did that.

Her Willow.

Tara contined her gaze on her lover, still studying every single outline that graced the redheads body, that made up the redheads features, she even studied the way Willow's cheast moved up and down in a steady stream of rhythm, the way her mouth parted slighlty as she breathed in and out.

As the air escaped her body, and snuck back in.

In and out.

Out and in.

And in and out again.

Tara knew.

Willow began to shuffle in her sleep, on the verge of waking up, her eyes fluttering in the darkness of the dimly lit room. Opening her eyes, the emerald dark green of her orbs shining brightly from the moonlight's natural glow from the window beside her, Willow smiled.

She smiled when she saw her blonde beauty above her, the half smile she always loved, the crooked grin she fell in love with just months before, had greeted her.

Had always greeted her.

She hoped would always greet her.

Her Tara, her soulmate, her lover.

Her everything.

Her always.

"Hey, baby." Willow uttered as soon as she saw her lover's opened eyes, her awake form.

"Hey." Tara smiled softly, ruffling her lover's hair playfully yet tenderly. "Did I wake you, sweetie?"

"No." Willow stated matter if factly, sleepily shaking her head slightly. "I woke up for you." she declared gently, her voice almost a whisper.

"Yeah?" the blonde smiled at her naked lover, kissing Willow's bare shoulder gently. "You look beautiful when you're asleep, peaceful."

"I'm only peaceful when I'm with you." the redhead voiced quietly, leaning up a bit to capture her lips with those of Tara's, kissing her gently. "Only when I'm with you." she added in a hushed whisper, brining her face back from the tender kiss, brushing away a few strands of blonde hair that had fallen in front of Tara's face, blocking her view of her lover's azure orbs.

"Is it really me?' Tara asked, her voice soft. "Am I really yours?"

Willow sat up slightly so she could get a better angle on top of Tara, resting her entire body across her blonde goddess. She moved her face closer to Tara, their faces just mere inches away from each others.

Their breath was one.

They shared the same air.

"Always." Willow managed to voice, her words sure and adament.

Tara smiled at her lover, her heart almost breaking at the words.

At the sheer magnitude the words had meant.

The sheer and utter truth it had defined.

She had found her soulmate.

And her soulmate had found her.

Willow smiled one last time, giving Tara a quick but passionate kiss, before laying her head back to rest on Tara's chest once again.

It was her special spot.

Her sanctuary.

Her everything.

Willow and Tara had drifted off to sleep that night, almost immediately after that. Falling asleep in each others arms. Falling asleep where thay always wanted to fall asleep, falling asleep with the one person they always wanted to fall aleep with.

Each other.

And they did.

Each and every night after that.

~~~~
Tara's thoughts had eventually drifted as she recalled Willow's voice, as she heard Willow from the back of her head, the voice she would always remember.
"Tara?" Willow called out to her lover, oblivious to all of Tara's thoughts, oblivious to the fact that Tara's head was elsewhere.
"Don't you just love Miss Kitty?" Willow asked with a grin, her eyes sparkling under the fairy lights of the New York streets. "She's just the cutest kitty ever, aren't you Miss Kitty?" Willow asked the furry ball of feline with another one of her special baby talk voices.
It sent a smile to her lover's face instantly.
"She is remarkably cute." Tara nodded, bringing her hand to curl around Willow's arm, walking aside her as they reached the entrance of their hotel. "Cuter than cute."
"Oh, I'm just in love with her, Tara." the redhead said enthusiastically as they walked deeper into the hotel, past the lounge, and eventually reaching the entrance of their hotel door. "I can't get enough of her."
"So you're glad we got her?" Tara asked as she opened their door swiftly, settling the bags of their stuff at the foot of their bed.
"Really glad." the hacker nodded fastly, a smile gracing her face.
Tara kissed her lover gently on the lips. "I'm glad you're glad." Tara smiled back, petting Miss Kitty Fantastico playfully on the feline's head.
"And I think Miss Kitty is pretty glad too." Tara motioned towards the kitten, eyeing her. "Aren't you, Miss Kitty?" Tara asked the furry creature with her own special baby talk voice, bringing a wide smile to Willow's already grinned out face.
The kitten meowed back softly, bringing her small paw out as if reaching out to her blonde mother.
"I think Miss Kitty agrees." the redhead smirked.
Tara grinned back happily, petting her kittens head again.
Willow watched Tara interacting with Miss Kitty and all the redhead could think of was how great Tara would be as a mother, how caring and loving she would be towards their own daughter.
How happy their daughter would be with the knowledge that she had two wonderful mothers who loved her.
That's all she could think of, that and that she wanted to ravish her lover pretty shortly.
She wanted to take Tara in her arms and make mad passionate love to her.
She needed it.
She wanted it.
Just then, the phone rang.
"Hello?" Tara answered the cell phone that was in her purse. "Yeah, Hey Buffy." the blonde voiced through the phone.
Willow stood quietly, her eyebrows lifted in curiousity as Tara silently listened to the other line.
"Ummm..." Tara started to say hesitantly, glancing at Willow with a small frown. "Y-yeah, sure." Tara said softly to the phone in her hand, she sure didn't seem as sure as she would have liked. "Yeah, Buffy...that sounds...okay, I guess."
Willow continued to frown.
"Tara?" Willow asked finally as she saw Tara put down their call phone. "What did Buffy want?" she questioned, curious.
Apparently, the blonde slayer had asked if it was allright of she and Dawn could stay at Willow's and Tara's while they were still here, which would be a couple of days.
Tara in the heat of the moment, thinking but not really thinking, had said yes.
Much, Tara knew, would be to Willow's dismay.
Tara looked a bit worried, reluctant to say what she was about to say. "Buffy asked if Dawn and her can stay with us tonight." Tara said slowly, wanting and not wanting Willow to marinate her words. "They're going for a quick bite, then heading back here."
"And you told them no, right?" Willow asked in a slight paniced voice.
"Um, not exactly." Tara said softly, her face looked a bit cringed as she uttered the words.
"Taaara..." the redhead whined childishly, dragging out her words for mere effect. "You didn't."
"I'm sorry." Tara replied in genuinely, shrugging her shoulder in defeat. "I couldn't say no."
"I don't understand this." Willow got up to pace the small room, right in front of their bed. "Why do Buffy and Dawn have to sleep with us, why can't they just stay with Anya and Xander?"
"i don't know baby." Tara stood up from her seat on the bed and moved towards where Willow was and attempted to surcease the redheads pacing. "It's jsut...it's Buffy and Dawn, our closest friends, it felt wrong to say no."
Willow stopped her pacing and thought about Tara's statement for a bit, frowning.
"I understand that." Willow said in defeat, sighing. She took a seat back at the foot of the bed. ""Buffy is my best friend, and Dawn is yours..." she added as realization had hit her. "They're both out family."
"Now you get why I couldn't say no?" Tara lifted an eyebrow, moving to sit beside her lover on the bed.
Willow rested her head on Tara's shoulders, letting out a long forlorn sigh. "Yeah...I do." she declared softly, almost in a whisper.
She wanted nothing more than to ravish her lover, now all hopes of that was vanishing.
"It's just...it was supposed to be just us." Willow said softly, almost tired. She paused to move her head to rest onto Tara's lap, Tara welcomed her in and gently stroked her redheaded lover's hair.
Tara paused as well and thought of Willow's words.
It WAS their romantic getaway.
They just got engaged.
They're new parents.
And they WERE interuppted by the gang.
They deserved their time alone.
"Do you want me to ask them if it would be okay for them to stay at Xander's?" Tara asked softly, still stroking Willow's red hair.
"No." Willow lied, letting out a breath. "They can stay."
Tara wan't so convinced. "Are you sure?" she asked after a moment. "I'm sure they'd understand."
"Just for today." Willow said matter of factly. "Tomorrow, tomorrow they are going to Xander and Anya."
"You sure?"
Willow nodded quietly, she was as sure as she was going to get.
Buffy and Dawn better find a way to make it up to them...big time.
Anya and Xander help collect donations for Christmas, in front of Macy's. I'm borrowing a scene again, from an episode of Friends. Sorry for all the 'Friends' haters, but I love the show.
The scene: Phoebe collects donations and wackiness ensues, a really fun bit I wanted to copy.
I'll update as soon as I can
P.S. A huge thanks for all the replies, greatly appreciated. :)
Christmas Carols
Disclaimer: Characters are not mine
Summary: Anya and Xander help the needy, and Willow and Tara get caught...again
Note: I borrowed a scene from the NBC sitcom 'Friends'... Episode 510: The One With The Inappropriate Sister... so if anything seems familiar, it's from that episode. I borrowed a few of the lines straight from the show.
THANKS FOR THE REPLIES :)
~~~~

After Willow and Tara had made peace with the knowledge that the two Summer's sisters would be staying with them and that meant they had to put off naughty time, they decided to hang out at their room and ditract Miss Kitty, showering the black and white furball with all the attention any two people would give.

Miss Kitty Fantastico twiddled playfully on top of their bed, playing with a rather large ball of yarn, almost the size of the cat itself.

Willow sat indian-style beside the kitten, petting the feline's head amicably while Tara sat hunched on the carpetted floor, in the midst of installing a kitten exercise gym or something or another, Willow had been fairly rushed in her explanation of the contraption, her excitement getting the best of her.

Tara just shook her head in amusement as she eyed the large toy, paying the cashier the money to buy it, whatever it was.

"Will..." Tara started to ask as she was still attempting to put together all the parts of the questionable device. "What is this for exactly?" she questioned with a slight upturn of her eyebrow, turning her head to face Willow and their litte kitty on the bed.

"It's for Miss Kitty." Willow just said, bringing a cat brush from their bedside table to gently brush through their little cat's furry coat.

"I got that." Tara nodded matter of factly, holding a screwdriver in her hand as she proceeded to tighten a metal bolt on the side of the husky and oversized toy. "What exactly is it?" she frowned, studying the knick knack intently, it didn't seem to look like anything.

"Oh." Willow shrugged. "It's a playpen, jungle gym, circus...type thing." she stated weakly, not really knowing what it was either. Willow had just noticed the large box at the pet shop with a overly adorable picture of a kitten, who looked alot like Miss Kitty, on the outside of the box. That, and the amazingly low price, seemed irresistable.

She had to buy it.

She needed to buy.

She did.

"Oh." Tara registered, still frowning at the cat toy, jungle gym...thing. "I bet Miss Kitty will love it."

Willow just nodded her head, smiling down at Tara.

A few moments pass.

Suddenly their door pops open and Buffy and Dawn ram through, carrying a few large bags that had the words ' Big Brown Bag' on the outside of it, the two sisters were giggling and laughing, pretty much having a good time. Dawn had a huge smile on her face, her eyes literally beaming and Buffy seemed to carry a matching pair.

Willow smiled as she watched the two sisters interact after a whole day of bonding, it was nice to see the two siblings bonding again, especially after all the worry Buffy went through thinking that Dawn had chosen Tara as a better fit sister than her. Now she was sure that the notion of that would be thrown out the window and the fact that Tara was just a really great friend would be on Buffy's mind, a sisterly-type friend for sure, but not a replacement.

Dawn turned her head towards her favorite lesbian couple and immediately noticed the kitten at the foot of the bed.

"Ohh, cute kitty!" Dawn squealed in excitement, jog walking towards the bed to pet the little feline. "You guys got a kitty?" she asked the two girls.

"Yep." Willow smiled, gently stroking the kittens lush fur coat. "Isn't she the cutest thing ever?"

Buffy, who was busy picking up and putting away all the bags that Dawn had dropped to the floor before she rushed to Willow and Tara, lifted her head to the family gathering, the three of them greeting the newest member of the fold. "What's her name?" Buffy questioned, moving to stand beside her younger sister.

"Miss Kitty Fantastico." Tara stated as she finished assembling their kittens new playpen, she stood up beside Buffy and Dawn, forming a semi circle around the bed.

Buffy and Dawn laughed aloud.

"What?" Willow asked in a small voice, her face crinkled up in tiny frowns. "You don't like her name?"

Tara sat silently, eager to hear Buffy and Dawn's answer, she looked up slightly in anticipation.

"It's just..." Buffy began, shrinking a bit under Willow's intense gaze upon her, waiting for an answer. "It seems kinda...long."

"Well, I like it." Willow shrugged her shoulders at her best friend, letting her off the hook. "Some people name their pets Fluffy, Brownie, or Shadow or something..." the redhead voiced as she continued to stroke her cat's ears and neck. "Miss Kitty Fantatico is a unique, a true Rosenberg-Maclay original." she smiled up at Tara, who smiled back.

"True." Dawn nodded, facing the redhead. "And I like that."

"You like what, Dawnie?" Tara asked, putting her hand gently on the teen's shoulder. Willow tilted her head, curious as well.

"Rosenberg-Maclay." Dawn stated with a hunch of her shoulders, smiling up at Tara. "I like how it sounds."

Dawn cared a great deal for Willow and Tara, and she adored their relationship. The two girls seemed, in Dawn's eyes, to really, truly, love each other. True, unconditional, love. It was the kind of love that was rare to find, Romeo and Juliet love without the unhappy ending. An everlasting love that she thought only existed in fairy tales, but Willow and Tara had seemd to find it in each other.

It gave Dawn hope for herself, that she'd eventually find her Prince Charming, the way Tara had found hers. Only it was Prince Charming, but...Princess Charming. Either way, they loved each other, and she wanted the two girls to be happy.

The way they would look at each other.

The way their eyes would beam brightly the moment they would see each other.

Even the little things Dawn would happen notice.

The way Wilow would rush to open a door for Tara, whether it be at a restaurant or at home.

The way Tara would always be able to sense the redhead's presence, even when she wasn't even looking up.

There was just so many ways the two girls showed that they loved each other without even saying a word, without even noticing that they were doing it. Without much effort at all.

It was pure instinct.

"It does have a cool ring to it." Buffy managed to deliver with a nod of her head. "Aren't you guys just majorly looking forward to the wedding?"

Buffy asked the two girls as she took a seat beside her best friend, bringing her arms to carefully cradle the tiny kitten, Miss Kitty instictively latched on, purring loudly.

Willow and Tara shared a look, smiling softly.

"Yeah..." Willow uttered dreamily, her eyes a bit glazed over as she thought and imagined how their wedding would be like.

Tara smiled at her lover, taking in the look that graced Willow's face, a long look of contemplation and desire. A looking-forward-to-look.

Buffy and Dawn watched as well.

This carried on for a few more moments until Buffy cleared her throat in order for the redhead to snap away form her musings.

"Huh?" Willow shook her head, her mind a daze.

Buffy and Dawn both smirked.

"Sweetie..." Tara began, stepping closer to her fiancee, before wrapping her arms around her redheaded goddess. "You went somewhere for a moment." she stated soflty, her mouth just mere inches away from Willow's ears. Her voice carried a soft, soothing tone that sent tiny gooseflesh thoughout her slender body, cooling her instantly. "Where did you go?" the blonde whispered into her lover's ear, her voice low and slightly seductive.

Buffy and Dawn raised an eyebrow at the two lovers, feeling like they were intruding on something quite intimate and private. But Tara and Willow seemed to forget that the two sisters were even there.

"Umm..." Willow was still dazed, her cool body immediately warming as Tara's words shook her, her soft voice and breath gentle against her ears. "I- I was..." she trailed off, her mouth hanging open slightly as Tara's mouth was centimeters away from her face.

She could feel her lovers warmth.

The warmth she always felt.

Her mind was a mess.

"Yes?" Tara asked softly, persistent at getting an answer from her beloved. "What was that?"

"I...I was somewhere..." Willow turned her head to Tara, so they were face to face.

So close.

So very close.

Mere millimeters.

There was very little space seperating their two faces, the two girls looked deeply into each other's eyes, oblivious to the two Summer's sisters.

Buffy and Dawn felt suddenly uncomfortable, they were definitley intruding on their personal space, the sisters walked a small distance away from the two, smirking as they did so. Dawn walked to the bathroom to freshen up while Buffy dug through their luggage in search for sleeping bags.

"Where were you Willow?" Tara voiced in a hushed whisper.

"Where I always am." Willow answered her voice just as low, her body shivering in desire. "With you."

Tara gave her lover a small half smile before kissing her gently on the lips, slowly and not rushed.

Tender yet passionate.

Willow returned the kiss without thinking, capturing the lips of the blonde's in a even deeper embrace. Their tounges entwined like two vines, two vines that would not seperate, that didn't want to seperate.

Their mouths became more forceful, more fast, more passionate.

Hands were buried in each others hair, and hearts pounded fastly.

The two girls rested on their bed, relaxing themselves on the soft cushion of the mattress. Completely oblivious that Buffy and Dawn were in the same room, sometimes an intensely loving moment would come to, and the two girls saw only themselves.

They looked like they were about to...do it.

They were about to...do it.

Just then, Dawn walked in from the bathroom and her eyes widened in surprise, embarrassment, and a million other facial features. "Whoa!" she screamed out, almost dropping her tootbrush, Willow was on top of Tara, her left hand buried under Tara's blouse, cupping a tender breast lovingly. Tara's mouth was busy sucking Willow's pulsepoint, just under her chin.

"Dawnie!" Tara cried out, ripping herself away from Willow.

Buffy was busy digging through her bags that she didn't even notice Willow and Tara on the bed, you'd think that her slayer senses would alert the slayer of what was definitley happening on the bed just a few feet away from her. Or at least hear a few moans. She turned her head at Willow's yell, her eyes as wide as two large dinner plates.

"Buffy!" Willow screamed as well, sitting up on the bed quickly, rubbing her face.

"Right when we're in the same room, with Dawnie here no less." Buffy stood up, her arms on her waist, chastising the two witches.

Dawn stood, shell shocked as she had walked in on Willow and Tara, for the second time.

"I...we...umm..." Willow began but stopped, her words coming out jumbled.

Tara looked flushed.

" We were..." Tara started to say, defending themselves. "I...It's...It's our room!" she finished, her voice raised.

Willow nodded her head, agreeing with Tara.

"Yeah." the redhead stated defiantly. '''We could do what we want." she declared, putting her arms around Tara tenderly. "And darn it, if we want to make love on OUR bed, we should be able to do that."

Tara nodded her head agreeing with Willow.

Dawn smiled faintly, while Buffy frowned.

"But I thought we could stay here, you said..." Buffy trailed off. "Um, this is you guy's day...we shouldn't be here." the slayer gently grabbed Dawn's elbow, attempting to usher the teen out. "We'll go to Xander and Anya's." she shrugged. "I'm sorry."

Willow and Tara softened their gazes.

"No, stay." Willow said. "At least for today."

"Yeah." Tara stated. "We have a nice comfy spot right here, maybe we can have an all girls slumber party." she suggested, looking up at Willow to see if she'd object. She didn't.

"Yay!" Dawn squealed, grabbing her sleeping bag from her luggage, she placed the bag on the floor near the bed.

"Are you sure?" the blonde slayer questioned, frowning. "We don't want to intrude, you guys have a right to be alone, just being engaged and all...it's a romantic time."

"We have tons of self control." Willow defended, kissing her lover's cheek gently.

"Doesn't seem like it." Dawn muttered, but it was loud enough for the girls to hear.

"Hey!" Willow and Tara simultaneously turned their heads towards the teen.

"So..." Buffy dragged out her words. "Slumber party?"

"Slumber party." Dawn, Tara, and Willow all said, nodding.

Buffy grabbed her sleeping bag and placed it on the floor next to Dawn's, while Willow and Tara shared one of their own, snuggling close to one another. The two girls wrapped each other's arms around the other, pulling themselves closer together. Willow laid her head to rest on top of Tara's chest, her favorite spot in the world.

"Goodnight Willow...Tara." Dawn said from her side of the room.

"Goodnight, Dawnie...Buffy." The two engaged couple uttered before closing their eyes, their libido bursting. Willow moved her hand to rest on Tara's thigh, inching closer to her lover's desire.

Tara had to stifle a moan, biting her lip.

Willow smiled slightly.

It was going to be a long, long, long, night.

~~~~
The next day
11:00 am:
Anya and Xander were on their way to the store, Anya wanted to buy some new pants and Xander decided it was time to go Christmas shopping for gifts for the gang. He wanted to get Willow and Tara a really nice engagement gift, Buffy and Dawn needed something for Christmas, and Anya needed something extra special, maybe jewelery or something expensive.
The couple walked down the sidewalk, passing various stores until they reached Macy's. At the front of the entrance a man stood ringing a yellow bell, beside him was a red cup that carried a sign that read...donations. All Anya saw was money, not donations.
"Oooh, money!" she squealed at Xander. "Xander, get some money from that cup over there." she said loudly.
The man carrying the bell frowned at the couple, moving to pick up the cup so the strange woman wouldn't steal.
"Anya, that money is for charity." he gently corrected his girlfriend. "You donate the money."
The man with the cup nodded.
"Donate?" Anya asked, her face in a small frown.
"For the less fortunate, they need all the help they can get." he continued, digging into his wallet for some change. Xander found a couple of dollars and placed it into the red cup in the man's hand.
"Thank you sir." the man said with a smile.
Anya looked into her purse and pulled out a few dollars and placed it into the cup as well.
"Thank you, ma'am." the man smiled. "Your donation means alot to us."
Anya beamed brightly, glad to help. "We don't have much more money, how else can we help?"
"Well..." the man began, putting down his cup and getting a new, empty one. "You can help me." he stated, handing a cup and bell to Anya. "The more the merrier." he smiled.
"Okay!" Anya was excited, grabbing the cup. "Can we have this spot?"
"Whatever suits you." he smiled moving away.
"Yay!" Anya jumped up and down excitedly. "Xander, I'm helping the world be a better place, I'm helping the less fortunate."
"You sure you want to..." Xander began , hesitant. As much as he wanted to help, he also wanted to go shopping.
"Xander, the world needs us, we are the world." Anya nodded, ringing her bell. "Like in the coke commercial."
Xander chuckled at his girlfriend. "Okay."
"Okay." Anya said matter of factly. "Donations!" she yelled loudly, ringing her bell, causing Xander to cringe.
Anya continued to ring her bell, smiling.
~~~

Meanwhile:

Buffy, Willow, Dawn, and Tara all decided to go window shopping. New York at Christmas was just a great time to shop, besides they needed to go out. They four girls went over to Xander and Anya's but the they were both gone, shrugging they decided to leave without them.

"Where are those two?" Dawn asked aloud, frowning. "We haven't seen them for awhile, it's like they're not even here."

"They're out....somewhere." Tara shrugged her shoulders, digging into her purse.

"Somewhere." Willow nodded, her hand grasping onto Tara's tightly.

~~~
In front of Macys, Anya and Xander are collecting donations, Anya ringing her bell.
"Happy Holidays. Feliz Navidad. Allo, and Merry Christmas." Anya said merrily, loving the fact that she was helping the less fortunate, her the ex-demon, helping the less fortunate. Humanity was something else.
A man comes up from the sidewalk and puts some change into their red cup.
"Ohh thank you sir. Here's some joy." Anya says as she waves her hand up and down as if she is spreading joy.
Willow and Tara are approaching with Dawn and Buffy just behind them.
"Anya, Xander!" Willow calls out , seeing her two friends in front of the Macy's store.
"Hey!" Xander says, looking exhausted. Anya, on the other hand, was fairly beaming.
"What are you guys doing here?" Tara asked, coming closer. Buffy and Dawn coming closer as well.
"We're helping collect donations." Anya shrugged, showing them their cup. "Humanity and all."
Tara nodded.
"Anya, Xander!" Dawn exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"
"What does it look like, collecting donations." the ex-demon just said, ringing her bell once again.
"Eveything going okay?" Buffy asked the two, eyeing the red cup.
"Well, it's going okay." Xander shrugged, pulling an arm around Anya and kissing her cheek.
" Well good, here let me help you out." Willow said, taking out her wallet and pulling out a few coins. She placed the coins in the giant red cup.
"Oh, thanks!" Anya squealed.
"Yeah!" Willow said, smiling, putting back her wallet into her purse.
"Wow!" Anya said again, studying the coins with her eyes, she frowned.
"Is that a new multi-colored sweater?" Anya lifted an eyebrow at the redhead, staring at the cotton fabric. "It looks really expensive."
"Yeah. I guess." Willow says, glancing at Tara who just shrugged at her, she puts more money in the bucket.
Dawn and Buffy both rolled their eyes, chuckling. Xander seemed amused as well.
"Just get your nails done?" Anya asked Buffy as a flash of nail polish caught her eye.
"Umm..." Buffy started, digging into her purse for some change. She finds a few dollars and puts it into the cup.
Anya beamed at Buffy and Willow, looking back to Dawn and Tara with a raised eyebrow.
Tara and Dawn looked at the ex-demon with wide eyes, digging into their wallets for more change. Finding a couple of dollars, they placed it into Anya's cup.
Anya eyed Willlow again, looking down at her new boots, she lifted her head and smiled.
Willow got it.
"Yes Anya, but this is all I have. Okay?" She pours out the rest of her change purse into the large cup.
Xander was stifling a giggle, Willow then gave her friend a dirty look.
"Okay! Thanks! Happy Holidays, here's your joy." Anya waves her arm and spreads her joy.
Buffy, Dawn, Tara, and Willow all roll their eyes and walk away, into the Macy's store.
Anya was oblivious.
A man walks up and puts a dollar bill in.
"Thank you! And Happy Holidays."
The man starts to take some change out.
"Wait, you can't take the money out." Anya yelped in disbelief, angry that someone was taking the charity's money.
"I'm making change. I need change for the bus."
"But, can't you leave the dollar?" Anya stomped her foot, her arms crossed in front of her." This money is for the poor."
"I'm poor! I gotta take the bus!" the man just said, the money still in his hands.
"Okay, Seasons Greetings and everything, but still…" she trailed off, frowning.
"Bite me, blondie!" The man storms off.
"Oh, I'm going to give him something else besides joy, just…" She scowls at him.
~~
"I officially have no money." Willow said, a bit upset.
"You still have a credit card right?" Tara asked, trying to console her fiancee.
Willow nodded.
~~
"Thank you, Happy Holidays." Xander said, smiling at a woman who just donated a few dollars.
Another woman walks up and throws something into the bucket.
"Now, that's trash, lady, you can't…" Anya trailed off as the lady ignores her and walks away.
"Hey! Stop that young lady, she donated trash!" she yelled aloud, causing a bunch of people around them to turn their heads.
Xander looked sheepish, hiding behind Anya.
Another guy walks by and throws his light cigarette butt in the bucket.
"Hey!!" The bucket starts smoking. "The charity's on fire! Help!" Anya screamed as Xander looked helpless, his eyes as wide as saucers.
Yet another guy walks by carrying a cup, which Anya grabs. "Oh good! Thank you, I need that." Anya throws onto the smoldering fire. Suddenly the bucket erupts in flames.
"Whoa! What is that?!" Anya sniffs the cup. "It's eleven o'clock in the morning!" she yelled at the man who just shrugged at her.
Helping the poor was going to be no easy task.
Anya was exhausted and so was Xander.
It was going to be a long day at Macy's.
Anya stomped her foot, the fire in the bucket still burning brightly.
Along with all of Willow's money.
