After the six friends had hung out together for awhile, congratulated the newly engaged couple, and talked a bit Xander, Buffy, and Dawn went off for a bite to eat, hungry from the flight.
Anya, on the other hand, chose to stay back with Willow and Tara, eager to show the two girls her book of dresses.
Willow and Tara were sitting on their queen sized hotel bed with an excited Anya between them, Willow had to fight the urge to push Anya away and was secretly hoping she'd just leave with Xander to their own hotel room so she could finish what was...unfinished...with Tara.
But Anya had other plans.
Willow and Tara were completley exhausted as they were forced to endure listening to Anya blab on about her various plans for the wedding, and what dresses she thought Willow and Tara should wear.
The ex-demon was sprawled on her stomach, flipping excidetley through a book of dresses, which to Willow and Tara, were completely and utterly HIDEOUS.
We're talking 'I'd rather hang myself then be seen wearing that' or 'I'd rather go naked down the aisle than wear that poor excuse for fabric.' kind of a dress.
They were horrendous, and that is alot to say because Willow and Tara were not all that picky in what they wore.
They just wore what was comfortable...even if they didnt quite match.
But they were not going to wear anything in that book, no matter how comfortable it was.
Absolutley.
Positively.
NOT!
"Now look at this." Anya pointed in sheer excitement at a purple dress on the page, looking up at Willow and Tara. "Isnt this pretty?" she asked the two girls, who were honestly horrified. Tara gulped loudly, worry frowns invading her face while Willow's eyes were as wide as saucers, the dress was HIDEOUS!
It wasn't even a wedding dress, it was definitley something else.
"It's purple." Willow said deadpanned, staring at the page Anya was pointing to, she looked to Tara who just shrugged.
"What's wrong with purple?" Anya retorted defensively. "Purple is a great color...it's a lesbian color." she pointed out with a nod of her head, the case was closed to her.
"Purple is NOT a lesbian color, Anya." Willow said slowly so Anya could digest the information, sometimes it took a few minutes.
"Yes it is." Anya said quickly, popping her head from the magazine she was buried in.
"Tara, tell her." the redhead pleaded to her fiancee. "Tell her it's not a lesbian color."
"Um...I think purple means royalty." Tara contributed her part in the absurd conversation.
"See?" Willow smiled at Anya, happy that she had been proved right, as always. She smiled a thanks to her lover, who just winked back.
"Well, it's still a great dress." Anya insisted, eyeing the purple fabric on the page.
"What do you think, Tara?" she asked the blonde beside her who had been eerly quiet the entire time Anya had been discussing her various plans.
Tara didn't want to say anything, she was just utterly speechless at all of Anya's suggestions.
"Um, I wouldn't wear it." Tara shook her head lightly, glancing up at Willow who was nodding her head in agreement.
"Why not?" Anya sat up a bit, clearly offended, frowning in confusion. "What's wrong with it?"
"Well, for one, it has these huge, horrendous shoulder pads, and two, it's purple!" Willow stood up from the bed, cringing at the mere thought of wearing the horrendous dress, wagging her index finger wildly at the page in front of Anya.
"It's not even a good purple, like lavendar or something, it's a DARK purple." she pointed out in a hurry. "It's the color of Barney!" the redheads eyes widened at the realization.
"If you think I'm going down the aisle, looking like a giant purple dinosaur, you have another thing coming." Willow was about to go off her head, ready for another round of babbling.
Tara just giggled at the cluless Anya and a wide eyed Willow.
"Tara, this is not funny." Willow said seriously at her girlfriend, her arms crossed in front of her.
Tara just managed to giggled more.
"I was just trying to help." Anya said in defeat, slumping her shoulders slightly.
"We know you mean well." Tara said softly, trying to comfort the fallen ex-demon who seemed genuinly put down as all of her effort of helping were, in the end, shot down.
"But we just don't think that the dresses you've shown us are really right for us." she finished, her eyes locked on the ex-demon, seeing if she had digested what she had said.
Anya lifted her head, but said nothing.
"Yeah, Anya..." Willow started, calming down considerably after her minor tirade, taking a deep breath. Anya seemed honestly upset, which surprisingly unsettled the redhead. "We appreiciate everything you are doing , it's so sweet, and I love you for it, but--"
"What did you say?" Anya's head popped up, turning towards Willow who was standing beside her.
Tara watched silently in amusement.
"What?" Willow asked, honestly confused. Not knowing what Anya was talking about, not registering what she had just said.
"You said that you loved me." Anya said, her eyes beaming.
"No, I didn't." Willow insisted her eyes widening suddenly, remembering what she had inadvertently said. She continued to deny uttering those words, confused at why she had said them in the first place.
"Yes, you did." Anya continued to persist, stepping a bit closer, not letting the shocked redhead off the hook.
"No, No, no." Willow shook her head to shake off the flashbacks.
"No, I didn't." she said again. "I just said 'I appriciate everything that you are doing, it's so sweet, and then I just stopped talking." Willow moved her hands in front of her like a shield, stepping a few ways back.
"You love me." Anya said again, ignoring the redhead, grinning hugely at her retreating form, her eyes sparkling in self-satisfaction and not to mention surprise.
"No, I don't." Willow denied, shaking her head wildly, her eyes looked like two giant frisbees.
The redhead looked at her lover for help, her eyes pleading, but she only received a shrug as a response. Tara continued to watch the two in amusement, stifling her laughter.
"You LOVE me." Anya got up from the bed, closing the magazine in front of her, she took a few steps closer to the shocked redhead. "You just said it." she smiled wickedly.
"Stop it, stop it, no, I don't!" Willow took a large step back, shaking her head at the turn of events. " I really don't." she pushed her arms forward, blocking Anya from coming any closer.
"You love me!" Anya rushed forward, gathering Willow in a tight, breath-stealing hug.
Willow was speechless, her eyes looked like a deer caught in headlights, she glanced at Tara who was still sitting on the bed, smiling at them.
Willow stood shell-shocked as Anya held her tightly, her face buried in Willow's chest like a child hugging a large Barney mascot. Willow finally brought her arms to hug the ex-demon, patting Anya's back a bit uncomfortably.
"As a friend." Willow said after a moment, softly. " I love you as a friend." she added honsetly, patting Anya's back once more before pulling back.
"You do?" Anya lifted her head at Willow, her eyes a bit misty. Not too misty, but still wet.
"Yeah, well..." Willow started, a bit embarrassed and uncomfortable at her revelation. "Blame Xander." she joked, lightening up the mood. "Anybody who loves him that much can't be too bad." she shrugged.
"I will." Anya nodded, turning her head to the blonde on the bed, who just smiled back. "Do you love me too?" she asked Tara, her eyes shining.
Tara laughed at Anya's query. "Sure."
"Yay!" Anya rushed forward to the queen sized bed, hugging Tara tightly, almost squeezing the life out of her.
"Can't breathe." Tara managed to voice, as Anya let go slightly.
"Yeah, get off my fiancee." Willow stomped her foot at the sight of her fiancce and the ex-demon on the bed...together.
"Oh." Anya shrugged. "Sorry."
"It's okay." Tara assured, patting Anya's back reassuringly.
Anya really needed to calm down.
"Okay" Willow started to get perturbed, willing the sappiness to stop. "We all love each other, blah, blah, blah..." she babbled in a hurry, brushing the moment off, waving her hands at the two.
"Now, about that magazine, as much as I appreiciate it Anya, I don't think either of us will be caught dead wearing anything in there."
"That's fine." Anya said softly, glancing at the closed magazine on the bed. "Okay." she shrugged it off.
"Really?" she questioned slowly, shocked that the ex-demon had let it go so quickly. She seemed to passionate about is a moment ago.
"You sure you're okay about that?" Tara asked from her seat on the bed, she glanced at the magazine at her side and flipped through the pages, her eyes narrowed at what laid inside.
"Well, sure." Anya said matter of factly. "I have dozens of other magazines."
Willow and Tara rolled their eyes, exhaling slowly.
Anya just smiled. "About the burlap..."

Meanwhile:
"Isn't New York great?" Dawn asked Buffy and Xander as she took a huge bite of her cheesburger, before stuffing some curly fries into her mouth hungrily. "Especially during Christmas time, I'm really loving the snow."
"Well, I gotta say, it is a big change from Sunnydale." Xander mumbled with his mouth full, a small chewed-up french fry came flying out of his mouth, landing in front of Buffy's plate.
"Ew, Xander!" Buffy grimaced at the sight, completley grossed out.
"Oh, oops." Xander realized what had happened and reached down to pick up the fallen fry, sticking it back into his mouth.
Dawn and Buffy bith groaned in disgust.
"What?" Xander asked, oblivious, chewing his fry.
"Nothing." Buffy said quickly, shaking her head at her friend.
"So, Willow and Tara, getting married." Dawn changed the subject. "I can't wait."
"Me, neither." Xander responded, nodding his head in agreement. "I wonder who the groom is?"
"Well none of them are." Buffy shrugged. "But if we were to say who, it would definitley be Willow." she said adamantly, looking at her sister who seemed to agree.
Willow was definitley the butch.
Xander laughed at the two girls. "Definitely Willow."
"How do you think Willow and Tara are doing with Anya?" Dawn asked after a moment, sipping her giant milkshake.
"Anya's probably driving the two crazy."
The three friends all seemed to agree.
~~~
"So...that's what burlap is..." Anya continued to blather at the two girls, showing Willow and Tara a huge dictionary sized book that contained various pictures and documents of burlap dresses. "I'ts really just a coarse king of fabric made out of Asian herbs and glossy fibers...way better than the purple."
Willow and Tara both sighed in frustration.
It would be a long, long day. Maybe they should just elope.
