Harris reading by flashlight. Ah that brings back happy memories.

I'm pleased they've decided not to move out of their home. Its housed so many great memories, and it'll be lovely to have them make more there.

And I think Soleil is a beautiful name.

I was wondering what they were gonna do with the house. Man, that's just a ton of kids!! I can't fathom it, I am an only child, no cousins even. Such a cute story though. I really love it!

Mainer: Great update, I agree with Mollyig I'm glad that they decided not to move out of their house, you were right too, Willow and Tara would live in the same house for the rest of their lives. And I'm also glad that Willow will get to spend more time at home with the kids and Tara. I really like the name Soleil, and I'm dying to meet the newest Rosenberg-Maclay. I can't wait to read more.

WOW!!! All of those kids!!!! That would drive me nuts. There are five kids in my family. My mother ended up raising my older sisters' kids. This makes seven, but we did not all live in the house at the same time.

Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.

Tara: Willow, I got so lost.
Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

Willow: Hi, um Tara. I was wondering maybe you want to go out some time for coffee? food? Kisses and gay love?

Good idea about the attic, trying to move with six kids, one being an infant just wouldn't be an easy thing, no matter how amazing of parents they are.

Part Twenty-three

Tara scurried around the kitchen preparing dinner. She was running a little behind today. She had to take Rupert and Soleil to the doctor's office for some shots, then go to the bank, the video store, and then finally to the grocery store. When she came home the house was a mess. She had asked Willow about it, and she said she was too tired to clean. Pregnant Willow was like having a four year old child. Tara picked up after her, got her things, and listened to her whine. Maybe Anya was right, some women were not meant to be pregnant. Willow's pregnancy was harder on her than her own. She didn't like having such terrible thoughts, no matter how true they were. She loved Willow with all her heart, and nothing was going to change that, even if she was getting a little annoying.

"Will, can go get Jesse and tell her to set the table?" Tara asked as Willow came waddling into the kitchen.

"But I'm so tired and achy," Willow whined. "Were you this achy?"

"Yes," Tara said sharply, immediately regretting her tone. "I'm sorry. I guess I'm just tired too."

"You didn't have to yell at me," Willow said bursting into tears.

"I know. I am so sorry, Sweetie," Tara said trying to put her arms around her wife to comfort her.

"I don't think so," Willow said pushing Tara away and storming off as best as she could.

"What's wrong with Mom?" Jesse asked coming into the kitchen with Rupert.

"She's eight months pregnant," Tara said.

"I think Mommy's gone crazy," Rupert said taking the napkins and silverware that Jesse handed him.

"Mommy is not crazy," Tara said, although it wasn't an unfair assessment. "She's just.... Sometimes pregnant women act that way," Tara said deciding that was the best way to explain it to a five year old.

"You never did," Jesse said coming back into the kitchen to retrieve the glasses.

"Is dinner almost ready?" Willow asked coming into the kitchen with a big smile.

"Mommy you're cra...," Rupert said before Jesse covered his mouth with her hand.

"Cra...calicious," Jesse said, quickly making up a word. "New word, means cool. Come on Rupert, help me finish setting the table," Jesse said escorting her little brother out of the room with her hand still covering his mouth.

"Do you think she's acting strange lately?" Willow asked.

"No, I'd say she's right on top of things," Tara said removing the casserole from the oven.

"I'm gonna take the salad into the dining room," Willow said.

"I'm right behind you with the casserole," Tara said following Willow into the dining room. "Rupert, can you run upstairs and get your sisters?"

"I'll get Harris and Soleil, but not Summer," Rupert said.

"Why?" Tara asked.

"Because Summer told me I was her favorite little sister," Rupert said.

"Go upstairs and get Harris and Soleil, and tell Harris to get Summer," Tara said. "I thought you said you were going to talk to her about that."

"I did," Willow said. "She said she wouldn't do it again."

"Are there vegetables in that?" Jesse asked pointing at the casserole. She wasn't in the mood for another argument. The bigger Willow got, the more they fought. Jesse knew it was the hormones, but she still didn't like to hear her mother's fight.

"Yes," Tara said.

"Are we talking peas and carrots vegetables, or eggplant and zucchini vegetables?" Willow asked scrunching her nose up at the second category.

"Peas and carrots," Tara said smiling, the anger fading away. Jesse smiled too, knowing her distraction technique worked.

"Harris isn't coming, she has a belly ache," Rupert said.

"Did you say something to her?" Willow asked Summer.

"No," Summer said defensively.

"I'll go up and check on her. If she's sick I don't want you catching it. Go ahead and start without me," Tara said. Tara walked up the stairs and knocked on the door to Harris and Summer's room. "Sweetie, are you okay?"

"Yes," Harris said. She was laying on her bed reading.

"Rupert said you had a tummy ache," Tara said walking over to her daughter and placing her hand on her forehead. "You don't have a fever."

"I know," Harris said.

"Is this an 'I'm sick' tummy ache or a 'something's bothering me' tummy ache?" Tara asked.

"A something's bothering me stomach ache," Harris said.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Tara asked.

"I don't want to move to the attic with Jesse and Summer," Harris said. "They don't like me."

"They're your sisters, they love you," Tara said.

"They may love me, but they don't like me," Harris said. "I don't even understand half the things they talk about."

"That's because you're all different. There are things you and Jesse talk about that Summer doesn't understand, and sometimes when you and Mommy are talking I don't understand a thing you're saying," Tara said, and Harris smiled at her Momma. "Trust me they like you, and so does everyone else."

"I feel better now," Harris said.

"Do you want to come down and eat dinner now?" Tara asked.

"Yes," Harris said. "I'm sorry I made you miss dinner."

"That's okay," Tara said as they headed down the stairs. Jesse was clearing the dining room table with Rupert's help, and Willow was taking Soleil out of the booster seat.

"Your dinner's in the kitchen," Willow said smiling at her wife and daughter.

"Thanks Sweetie," Tara said.

"I waited for you," Summer said, sitting at the kitchen table.

"How did you know I was coming?" Harris asked.

"We always get sick together, and I feel fine," Summer said. "I think we should paint our new room like a soccer ball."

"I don't think so," Tara said.

"How about we paint it like the outside? You know with sky, and grass, and trees, and flowers," Harris said.

"Yeah, that's awesome," Summer said.

"That's a workable plan," Tara said. "What do you want your room to look like, Jesse?"

"Since you asked," Jesse said pulling a magazine page from her pocket. "Doesn't it remind you of India?"

"Yes," Tara said looking at the wrinkled page. "It's kind of fancy."

"Please, Momma. I really love it," Jesse said.

"I'll talk to your Mom, and then we'll talk to Xander, and we'll see," Tara said.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you," Jesse said hugging her mother.

"I didn't say yes," Tara said as Jesse ran from the room, presumably to call Alex.

"Yes you did," Jesse called back.

"Did I say yes?" Tara asked the twins.

"When you say you'll talk to Mommy, it's just as good as a yes," Harris said.

"Well, gee, then he must have meant it because guys never say anything they don't really mean, do they? They say I love you, and you think it's true. They say, oh Anya, I want to be with you for the rest of my life, and you believe them. You believe they feel the same way about you because that's the way love's supposed to be, right? And then you get all excited with the tingly anticipation, but wait, not so fast. There's the apocolypse, and the back from the grave, and the blah, blah, blah, blah, and by the time you're finally standing there in that beautifully expensive white dress, you dreamed about ever since you became human, he gets all heeby jeeby and decides you know I'd rather just go steady."

Mainer: Great update, I feel really sorry for Tara, and also for Willow, but they still love each other, and together they can through anything and also with some help from the kids. I really liked the talk that Tara had with Harris, very sweet. And Summer and Harris and Jesse talking about what color to paint their rooms, very sweet too. I can't wait to read more.

Part 24

Jesse stood in her new room taking everything in for the millionth time that day. She was having a hard time believing it was actually hers. The walls were a beautiful royal blue accented with various shades of gold. Xander had built a canopy bed which Tara had draped various kinds of sheer fabrics around. It looked just like the picture in the magazine.

"So whatta ya think?" She asked Alex.

"It's nice," Alex said.

"Nice. Nice. It's not nice, it's the perfect room," Jesse said.

"Yeah, if you're a girl, which I'm not," Alex said. "So as a guy, I say, it's nice."

"I acted excited when you got your room redone. Do you think I like plaid?" Jesse asked.

"Oh, Jesse, your room is to die for," Alex said in a feminine voice, throwing himself on the bed in dramatic fashion.

"Funny," Jesse said.

"Do I get credit for trying now?" Alex asked.

"I suppose," Jesse said. "Hey, did I tell you what happened at the park yesterday with Billy?"

"Why do you like him? He's grubby and dumb," Alex said.

"He is not dumb or grubby. Do you want to know what happened or not?" Jesse asked walking across the room and closing the door.

"Just because I think he's all wrong for you, doesn't mean I don't want to know," Alex said.

"He kissed me, and not like the last time. He French kissed me. We kissed for like five whole minutes," Jesse said.

"You used your tongue?" Alex asked in shock.

"Oh yeah," Jesse said flopping back onto the bed with a huge smile on her face.

"I'm not old enough to have this conversation," Alex said.

"You're old enough to have done it," Jesse said.

"I'm not even thirteen yet," Alex said defending himself, "and neither are you."

"Close enough," Jesse said. "Besides it's only kissing. It's not like we had sex."

"I should hope not," Alex said. "I can't talk about that."

"Why not?"

"You know I'm not supposed to. I'm only supposed to talk to my mom and dad about it," Alex said.

"You need to relax. I talk about it all the time, it doesn't mean I'm gonna do it, or that I even want to," Jesse said. It always struck her as odd that Anya was so blunt when it came to sex, but Alex wasn't even allowed to say the word, unless he was talking to his parents.

"Just humor me and talk about something else," Alex said.

"Okay," Jesse said, thinking for a moment, "like what?"

"I don't know. Did you hear that?" Alex asked.

"Hear what?"

"It sounded like someone was outside your door," Alex said.

"Rupert!" Jesse shouted.

"Hi, Mommy, guess what?" Rupert said running into the family room.

"What?" Willow asked.

"I know a secret about Jesse," Rupert said grinning broadly.

"How do you know a secret about Jesse? Were you spying again?" Willow asked.

"No, I just heard," Rupert said.

"What's the secret?" Willow asked.

"Jesse had sex with Billy in the park," Rupert said.

"What?" Willow said spitting out the soda she was drinking.

"That's what she told Alex," Rupert said wiping the soda off his face with the bottom of his tee shirt.

"So you were spying," Willow said. She and Tara had numerous conversations with him about that. Suddenly it dawned on her what he had overheard. "Do you know what that means?" Willow asked him.

"Do I know what spying means? Duh, Mommy, I do it all the time," Rupert said.

"No, what you heard Jesse talking about," Willow said.

"No," Rupert said. "Is it bad?"

"Go outside with Momma and your sisters," Willow said hoisting herself off the sofa.

"I don't want to," Rupert said. He wasn't going to hear anything if he was outside.

"You have to. I need to go talk to Jesse, and you can't stay in the house by yourself," Willow said escorting him to the sliding glass doors that lead to the back yard.

"Oh, all right," Rupert said.

Willow made her way up the stairs to the second floor, and then continued on her way up to the attic. She had to take a break to catch her breath and calm her nerves before she knocked on Jesse's door. It isn't everyday that one goes up to their twelve year old daughter's room to discuss her sexual activity. Composing herself, she knocked on Jesse's door.

"Come in," Jesse called from the bed.

"Time to go home, Alex," Willow said as she opened the door.

"Okay, bye Jesse, bye Aunt Willow," Alex said on his way out of the room. He knew Jesse was in trouble for something.

"Why did Alex have to leave?" Jesse asked sitting up.

"Because we need to have a talk," Willow said closing the door, and then sitting next to Jesse on the bed.

"Did I do something wrong?" Jesse asked.

"Do you think you did something wrong?"

"No, but I must have if Alex had to leave," Jesse said.

"We've talked all about sex, and you understood everything, right?" Willow asked.

"Yeah," Jesse said.

"If you ever had any questions you would ask me or your Momma, right?" Willow asked.

"Yeah," Jesse said.

"And if you ever did it, you would tell us, right?"

"Did somebody tell you I had sex?" Jesse asked, her eyes going wide.

"Did you?" Willow asked in more of an accusing voice than she had intended.

"No, I would never, well not never, but not now," Jesse said. "I'm only thirteen."

"Twelve," Willow corrected.

"Almost thirteen."

"Your age is irrelevant," Willow snapped.

"Fine. I don't know who told you what, but I've never had sex. I don't want to have sex now, and even if I were going to, I would talk to you and Momma first," Jesse said.

"Then tell me what happened," Willow said. "I mean I'm having a hard time believing you, because my source is fairly reliable, and they say that you told Alex you had sex in the park with Billy. Is this the same Billy that we've fed twice? Because he is never coming back to this house if he violated you," Willow said almost yelling the words. So much for remaining calm.

"Violated me? Mom, nothing happened, I swear. I told Alex that we kissed in the park, and yeah we were talking about sex, not me and Billy," Jesse said quickly, "me and Alex. Not that me and Alex are gonna have sex, cause, eww, but just talking in the general way that teenagers do. Maybe your source, who is only five, got a little mixed up. I promise I would never do anything to break your trust," Jesse said near tears.

"You're right. I should trust you," Willow said. "I'm sorry. It's just that I hear sex and my twelve year old daughter in the same sentence and I can't believe it. You're still my baby, and I'm not ready for you to even be discussing it with anyone. I get scared."

"It's okay really. When you go all crazy like that, it just let's me know you care," Jesse said hugging her mother.

"How did you get to be so smart?" Willow asked pulling away.

"Momma," Jesse said smiling.

"Funny," Willow said. "That's really very funny, but stupid. Don't you know you never insult the person who buys your clothes?"

"Unless of course you know that person is absolutely wonderful, and they can take a joke," Jesse said.

"Of course," Willow said laughing, then suddenly she clutched at her stomach.

"What's wrong?" Jesse asked.

"Go get Tara," Willow said breathing erractically, "I'm having contractions."

Part 25

"Come on Will, breathe," Tara said standing next to the hospital bed holding Willow's hand. Willow was squeezing so hard Tara was sure she was breaking bones.

"Breathe?" Willow said. "I'm in the worst pain a human being could possibly endure and you tell me to breathe."

"It's what we practiced, and if you really focus it works," Tara said gently.

"And now you tell me I'm doing it wrong," Willow said. "I gotta tell ya, your bed side manner is not good. This is all your fault you know."

"All my fault?" Tara asked.

"Yes, you should have told me no when I said I wanted to be pregnant," Willow said.

"I should have told you no. Will, I'm not your mother, I'm your wife, and if you want to carry our child, I'm gonna support that."

"Well, you should have... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh."

"How's everything going in here?" The doctor asked.

"I want to be drugged now," Willow said.

"Will, we decided all ready no drugs," Tara said as if she were only reminding her wife that she'd forgotten to take out the trash.

"I don't care what I said. I want the drugs."

"Now is the best time to be administering the epidural," the doctor said.

"No, there will be no epidural," Tara said to the doctor, then turning to Willow. "You'll regret it. You don't really want it, and I'm not going to let you get one."

"Now she gets decisive."

Jesse sat in the waiting room away from the rest of her family. Giles and Joyce had all the younger children over by the toys, keeping them occupied. Alex sat by his mom and dad waiting patiently for it to be time to go home. Brett sat by himself seemingly disinterested in the evenings events, and Buffy paced nervously around the waiting area. No one had come out to tell them what was going on, and for the first time going through this Jesse was scared of what was happening.

"Hey kiddo, why are you sitting all by yourself?" Xander asked sitting in the empty chair next to Jesse. She shrugged her shoulders in response. "Are you tired?" Xander asked.

"No," Jesse said. "Can we go for a walk?"

"Sure," Xander said. He and Jesse had walked for several minutes neither of them saying anything. What's wrong?" Xander finally asked.

"I thought I was going to cry," Jesse said. "I didn't want to upset the other kids."

"Why would you cry?" Xander asked.

"I'm scared," Jesse said. "I've never heard Mom scream like that."

"Oh," he said. Why couldn't he be a girl? He didn't know how to do these touchy feely moments.

"Do you think she's okay?" Jesse asked.

"Sure she is," Xander said. "Look how many times Tara's done this, and Buffy and Anya have done it twice, and Dawn's done it once."

"But this isn't like when Momma had Soleil. You didn't hear her," Jesse said.

"Your Momma is an exceptional woman, she wouldn't show it even if she were in pain. When Anya had Alex and Christopher she was screaming so loudly the doctor wore ear plugs," Xander said. "Giving birth is painful, but your Mom is tough, she'll be okay."

"Do you think it hurt Momma this bad?" Jesse asked.

"Yes, but you know Tara, she'd never let it show. Now Willow on the other hand she screams when she gets a paper cut. I remember once when we were little, me and her, and Jesse were riding our bikes, Will fell and from the way she was crying and screaming we thought for sure she'd broken her leg, but she just skinned her knee."

"Aunt Buffy says she's a drama queen," Jesse said laughing.

"That's our Will," Xander said. "Are you ready to head back?"

"Yeah," Jesse said.

"Okay, Willow, it looks like you're ready to push," the doctor said.

"No," Willow said firmly.

"No, you're not ready to push?" The doctor asked.

"No, I'm not going to push," Willow said. "If I could cross my legs, I'd be doing it right now."

"Will, you have to push," Tara said.

"No, I don't," Willow said.

"Yes, you do. Now is not the time to decide you don't want to give birth. That was nine months ago," Tara said.

"Nine months ago I didn't know it would hurt this bad," Willow said.

"You should have asked," Tara said.

"No, you should have acted like a normal person when you were giving birth," Willow shouted. She immediately noticed the hurt look on Tara's face. She looked like her kitten just died. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it," Willow said.

"It's fine," Tara said.

"No, it's not fine. In case you failed to notice nothing about the situation we are in is fine," Willow said.

"No, I didn't fail to notice, but the only problem I see is a big, selfish baby."

"Selfish?"

"Yes, do you know what you're doing to our baby? When a baby is ready to be born you give birth, you don't hold it in."

"But it hurts," Willow said in a childlike voice. "It hurts so much I don't think I can take anymore."

"I promise if you listen to me, I'll make it better," Tara said.

"Please don't tell me to breathe," Willow said.

"I won't. I want you to focus on what I'm telling you. Can you do that?"

"I'll listen," Willow said.

"Just look in my eyes," Tara said placing her hands on either side of Willow's face. She concentrated very hard on Willow and began talking to her telepathically. Telling her all about the baby she was having, and the things they would do together as a family after the baby was out, and amongst the good stories she was instructing her to push.

The doctor had never seen a fight like that in the delivery room. She'd seen couples fight in the office, but not Willow and Tara. In fact in all the years she'd been their doctor she'd never seen them fight. She was listening, waiting for Tara to say something, but she didn't. They were just staring intently at one another. A calm swept through the room, and then she realized Willow had been pushing.

"Okay, Willow you're doing great," the doctor said, but neither woman acknowledged her prescence. It continued like that for several more minutes. It wasn't until the doctor placed the baby in between them that they snapped out of their trance like state.

"You did it," Tara said smiling at Willow.

"I couldn't have without you," Willow said looking down at their child in her arms.

"So, are you going to be doing this again?" Tara asked.

"No way, " Willow said. "I mean, don't get me wrong, it was worth it and I'm glad I did it, but never again. You can have your job back for number seven."

"Good, I kinda missed it," Tara said.

"You ready to deliver the good news?" Willow asked.

"Yeah, I think I am."

I think when all this is over Willow will have a new appreciation for Tara!

These girls really need to stop. The family is growing out of control. There's babies all over the place. :grin

How funny though...Willow all Ouchy and panic-y. Wanting the drugs. Oh I get that screaming for drugs.

Mainer: Great updates, I just got caught up with the last two updates, Very cool how Tara helped Willow during the delivery, I just LOVE how they are alway there to support each other. I really liked how Willow was so protective of Jesse when she thought that she had had sex. And also very cool how Jesse would never do anything to betray her parents trust. I'm dying to get to know the newest Rosenberg-Maclay. I can't wait to read more.
