Part 6“Do we even know where he is?” Giles asked.
“No idea,” Buffy said, collapsing onto the couch in Giles’ house. “I went back to the campus and looked around but there’s no sign of anything. No commando guys and no Oz.”
“We have to find him, Buffy,” Giles said as Willow burst into the room. She stopped short. Judging by the look on their faces that they hadn’t had much luck finding her boyfriend. She slumped her shoulders. “You didn’t find him?”
“Sorry Will,” Buffy resigned, unable to look at her best friend. “Maybe we could use magic?”
The mere mention of the word sent shivers down Willow’s spine.
Magic. How cool was that spell Tara and I did? I could feel the power when we held hands. Her hands were so soft. I wonder if the rest of her skin is as soft as her hands. I bet her lips are soft. “Willow?” Buffy ask for the third time breaking the redhead out of her thoughts.
“Huh?”
“You left us for a minute there.” Buffy said, a slight grimace on her face. “Thinking about Oz, huh?”
Oz! “Oz, yeah, I was thinking about Oz.”
“Thought so,” Buffy said. “Don’t worry, we’ll find him.”
“Yes, Buffy can go back to the campus after dark and keep an eye out for these commando fellows,” Giles assured.
“He’ll turn up,” Willow said. “I should probably get back to campus myself. Classes start next week and I promised Tara we’d go to dinner tonight.”
“Your roommate?” Buffy asked. “How’s that working out for you?”
Willow just smiled.

On her way back to campus, Willow thought of where to take Tara out to for dinner.
I wonder if she likes Chinese? I bet she’d look sexy with chopsticks disappearing into her mouth, past those luscious lips, so … stop it Rosenberg! She’s your friend. Your roommate. A girl. And you’ve got a boyfriend. A missing boyfriend. Still, she couldn’t help but think of Tara. She’d been having the most wonderful dreams when Tara jumped out of bed this morning. Holding her last night felt so right. As she thought about the blonde, her pace increased in an attempt to get back to her room quickly.

Willow was practically out of breath when she arrived back at the dorm room. She flew the door open and was almost shocked to see Tara and a brunette girl sitting on Tara’s bed. Both girls’ heads turned to look at the redhead as she came through the door.
“H-hi Willow,” Tara said with a sweet smile. She motioned to the brunette. “This is Ruby. She l-lives next d-door.”
“Oh,” Willow said as nonchalantly as possible. She gave a quick grin as Ruby said hello and flopped down on her bed.
They’re sitting on Tara’s bed. Close. Too close. Geez, jealous much? Wait, jealous? “I should go,” Ruby was saying as she got up from the bed. “I had fun Tara, thanks. It was nice meeting you, um …”
“Willow,” Tara supplied.
Willow couldn’t help but smile.
I love the way she says my name. “Right,” Ruby said before walking out the door.
As soon as they were alone, Willow sat up on the bed and turned to Tara. “So, she seems nice.”
“S-she is.”
“And pretty,” Willow added.
“I g-guess,” Tara answered, a little confused.
What was Willow thinking? Did she think that her and Ruby we ‘together.’ Did she care? Maybe she did? Stop it McClay! She’s your roommate. You’ve got to control this infatuation. You know she likes you as a friend. You know she’s got a boyfriend. “Dinner?” Willow asked.
“Dinner?” Tara repeated.
“Dinner.” Willow confirmed with a grin. “Comes after lunch. Last meal of the day. You still want to go, right?”
“Of course,” Tara smiled. “I can’t think of anything I’d rather do.”
Willow stood up and extended her hand to Tara. “Great, let’s go.”
Tara slipped her hand into Willow’s and interlocked their fingers.
Feels so right, both girls thought in unison.

“Hello?” Giles picked up the phone.
“Giles,” Buffy said over the phone. “We found Oz.”
“That’s good,” Giles remarked. “Shall I call Willow?”
“No,” she quickly replied. “Not yet. I don’t how we’re gonna tell her this.”

After dinner, the girls walked hand and hand back to their room. Willow could sense that Tara wanted to say something but the blonde never did, at least not until they got back to the dorm.
“C-can I a-ask you something?” Tara stammered, obviously nervous.
“Sure?” Willow replied.
She’s even cuter when she’s nervous. “Why were you in my b-bed this morning?”
Willow froze. “Um, I came home last night and you were sleeping and it looked like you were having like a nightmare or something and I went to check and you didn’t wake up and so I just hugged you a little to calm you down and then I was tired and I guess I fell asleep … and did I mention that I babble?” She concluded with a goofy grin.
Tara stared at Willow with a bemused expression. She was so enamored by the redhead, it blew past her that Willow had seen that she had a nightmare. If she had thought about it, she would have been nervous, even embarrassed. “Oh, that was sweet.” She smiled brightly. “Thank you.”
Willow breathed a sigh of relief. She sat down next to Tara on her bed, placing a hand on her knee. “Did you want to talk about it?” she asked with genuine concern in her voice.
The feel of the warm hand on her knee tossed out any rational thoughts that Tara may have had. Normally she would have dropped her head and let her hair cover her face but she was captivated by the beautiful redhead and couldn’t tear herself from her gaze.
“You have beautiful eyes,” Tara whispered before she could stop herself.
Such a compliment would have embarrassed Willow but instead sent a thrill through her. Truth be told, she was thinking the exact same thing about Tara. The shade of blue in the blonde’s orbs reminded her of a perfect sky on a beautiful day. “Thank you. So do you.”
Neither girl knew what to say. They just gazed into each other’s eyes, losing themselves in each other. At that moment, nothing else in the world mattered. No thoughts went through their minds and nothing registered as Willow bit her lower lip and leaned forward brushing her lips against Tara’s ever so softly.
Suddenly, Willow realized what she did and jumped off the bed, her face flushed with red. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean …” She clamped her hand over her own mouth.
Tara wasn’t sure how to react. Her lips still tingled. She nervously looked at the redhead as she brought her fingertips to her own lips in remembrance. “What did you mean?”
***
Ruby pulled her ear away from the common wall. “Perfect,” she said.
And the story gets passed on to Vix84. Have fun
