Logan stepped forward, clearing her throat...



"Um...Gran? I hate to interrupt all of this...but they need to..."



"See a little sample of our magicks? Yes...dear, I know...please...come right this way." she said, leading the group to a small footpath heading deeper into the woods.



Chapter Fifty-three



The old woman led the group down a small winding path that led to a beautiful clearing within the woods. The grass was a beautiful emerald green and seemed to glow with a lifeforce unlike anything the Slayer and the Watcher had ever experienced.



The two stood by as Logan and her grandmother went over to a small shed that stood on the edge of the clearing, returning with four clay pots and a couple of cloth bags filled with spell components. They watched as the two witches created a large circle of sea salt, placing the clay pots equidistant on the edge of the circle, forming a square within it.



Logan and her grandmother sat down within the circle facing one another, gently bringing their legs into a perfect lotus position...



“Damn...I hope I’m that flexible when I’m her age!” Buffy blurted out, as Giles elbowed her in the side, giving her that ever-so-familiar ‘not now’ look.



The two women closed their eyes, their breathing synchronizing as they quickly descended into a trance-like state.



The air seemed to come alive, crackling with energy swirling around the circle as slowly, the contents of the first pot rose...



The crystal blue water floated upwards, swirling onto itself, creating a flowing orb between them...



Suddenly, the wind began to rise, causing the contents of the second pot to flow upwards. The sand following the same pattern, swirling around the blue orb, creating a pulsating cloud flowing counter to the flow of the water.



The elder woman whispered “Incendio” as a beautiful flickering flame rose from the final pot...



Buffy and Giles watched in astonishment as the flame moved through the sand and into the sphere of water, illuminating the orb like liquid diamonds...



After a few minutes, the components began to separate - each returning to their original pots. Logan and her grandmother slowly opened their eyes, looking to the Slayer and the Watcher.



“Well?” Logan asked, looking to the Watcher.



“That was one of the most impressive examples of Elemental Magical control that I’ve ever seen! Now...how do you do casting singularly?” Giles asked.



“The powers in our family have always been the strongest when we cast together; however, we do quite well on our own.” said the elder Rosenberg-Maclay.



“Well...looks like the witchy-goodness runs deep in the family! Lucky for us!” Buffy said, smiling!



Meanwhile...



Slowly, the components returned to their original position. The sweat ran down Willow’s face as she breathed heavily...



“Whoa...feeling kinda woozy here...” Willow said.



“That’s from the spell, love...that is pretty advanced...but I knew that we could do it...together.” Tara said, smiling.



“We can do anything...together.” Willow said, smiling back at her wife, reaching out to her, taking her hand, weaving their fingers together.



“Mmmhmmm...” Tara purred “...and right now...I’m thinking that there’s something else we could be doing together...”



“Oh really?” Willow said, getting some rather interesting ideas of her own...



“Come on...there’s someplace I want to take you...” Tara said, getting up and leading Willow out of the circle...

Chapter Fifty-four



The two walked hand-in-hand down a small path that led deeper into the woods…further than Willow had ever remembered going…but yet, something seemed familiar…



“So…are you going to let me in on the destination of our little journey here?” Willow asked, bringing Tara’s hand to her lips, kissing the back of it lovingly.



“Mmmm…no…you have to just wait and see…” Tara said, smiling.



Off in the distance, Willow heard a sound that triggered a memory in her…it was the burbling of water…a falls…and now she knew…



“The springs…we’re going to the springs!”



Tara turned facing her, biting down on her bottom lip and smiling at the same time…taking Willow’s other hand in hers…leading her down towards the water…



The springs were magical…that was the only way to describe them. The granite cliff above created a stepped falls that flowed into a small creek below…and off to the side were two beautiful steaming pools of cobalt blue water…It looked like something out of a faerie tale…



“Goddess…Tara…it’s beautiful…” Willow said, breathing the moist air in deeply…closing her eyes to savor the moment…she felt Tara’s hands slip from her own…as Tara giggled…running away behind a clump of sumac…



“Wait…Tara…”



“Shhh…keep your eyes closed!” Tara said, giggling as she slipped out of her cloak…walking to the first spring pool…



Willow, hearing the splash of Tara entering the water, asked “Can I open my eyes now?”



“Yes…you can open them now…” Tara said, smiling.



Willow opened her eyes, expecting to see the beauty of her wife…but not the revelation that she was about to experience.



Tara was standing knee deep in the steaming pool…completely naked…her long blonde tresses cascading over her chest like spun gold…the mist rising around her…just as she had been the first day that Willow had ever set eyes on her...the moment that she had fallen in love with her…



It was true, she had remembered several things from their relationship in the past…but there had still been many aspects that she had no memory of…until now…



The memories flooded back into the Red Witch’s mind like a tidal wave…filling her with all of the joy and pain that the two of them had shared during their time together…and the love…more love than she had ever thought possible…



Slowly, she came back to reality…taking in the heavenly vision before her…



“Umm…Excuse me…but what are you doing here?” Tara asked, smiling.



Knowing what Tara was referring to, Willow walked down towards the springs…



“Begging the fair maiden’s pardon…but I ventured into these woods to research the faerie folk…and here you are…more beautiful than any creature I have ever had the distinct priveledge to lay eyes on…and I said to myself…self…which is what I call myself, when I’m talking to myself…surely this woman before me must, in fact, be the Faerie Princess…” Willow babbled, smiling as she waited on the edge of the pool…gazing into her wife’s eyes with a love that bridged all time…



It was then that Tara knew…



“You remember…” She said, a tear falling down her porcelain cheek.



“I remember.” Willow said…smiling softly as she removed her robes and entered the water and the waiting embrace of her one true love…

Chapter Fifty-five



Tara stood motionless, overwhelmed by the fact that they now had everything that they had in the past and so much more…



Willow moved over to the blonde, placing her hands on her wife’s shoulders, running them slowly down the lengths of her arms. She took Tara’s hand in hers, bringing it up to her lips, kissing each knuckle, then holding the soft hand to her face…closing her eyes at the intimacy of the touch.



“I remember everything…” Willow said, slowly opening her eyes to meet Tara’s misty blue orbs “…from the first moment I saw you, you took my breath away. I’d never seen anyone or anything so beautiful in my entire life. I couldn’t take my eyes off you…and I still can’t…”



Tears ran down the blonde witch’s face. This was the moment that she had longed for…when she would truly have her Willow back.



Willow continued “I knew from the moment I saw you, that I was going to spend the rest of my life loving you.”



Tears. Pain. She remembered the pain in Tara’s eyes when they had parted…when she had left this time for the future. Tears welled in the redheads eyes, a lump rising in her throat…how could she have done this to her? How could she ever have left? The emotions were wracking her senses…



“Oh Goddess…baby…I’m so sorry! I’m so sorry I left you! I didn’t want to! I just had to…”



Willow’s words were interrupted by the feel of Tara’s finger against her lips.



“Shhh…you did what had to be done. I knew that…we both knew that. We made it through…we’re together now, and we will be forever. That’s what counts.” Tara said, leaning forward to kiss the tear that was falling down her wife’s smooth cheek…the salty-sweet taste teasing the tip of her tongue.



Willow looked at Tara, her vision somewhat clouded by the tears now flowing freely down the curves of her face…with a look of determination and resolve that the blonde knew all too well. “I swear to you…no matter what…I will NEVER leave you again…ever. You’re my Always, baby…”



Tara leaned forward, capturing the redhead’s pouty lips in her own…pulling back momentarily, her eyes pleading with Willow’s…whispering breathlessly “Show me.”



Meanwhile…





“My goodness…I’m sorry…what was your name again?” The Watcher asked, embarrassed at the thought that he had possibly forgotten.



“No need to be sorry…you can set that British mind of yours at ease. You didn’t forget anything…I didn’t tell you my first name, yet…it’s Maggie.”



“Maggie…what a lovely name, it suits you well. Has Logan explained to you the bit of a predicament that we are in at the moment?” Giles asked.



“Not entirely…but I understand that it has something to do with a demigod?”



“Yes…Kaliphicus…have you ever heard of him?”



The soft smile upon the old woman’s face faded, replaced by a look of pure resolve “So…it begins.”

I just read everything there is of this fic so far and I have to say that I'm greatly intrigued.



I love how you're tying together everything that Willow and Tara do in the past and what Buffy and the rest of the Scoobies are doing in the present. I love the character of Logan and how she's a complete mix of Willow and Tara. The way you write her and the way she reacts to things shows just how much W/T are a part of her even throughout the years. I can't wait to see what happens next. And I wonder what will happen when Duncan shows up again!

Chapter Fifty-six



“Goddess, baby…I don’t know how you made it through all of this…I don’t think I could have done the same if I had been in your shoes…” Willow said, her arm draped across Tara’s midsection, her head resting on the blonde’s soft stomach.



“There were times when I thought that the only way to escape the pain of not having you was to end it all…” Tara admitted, dropping her head in shame.



Willow raised her head, looking up at Tara. She couldn’t fathom the pain that she had caused her love by leaving her…a pain so bad that Tara had actually thought that perhaps death would have been a better alternative.



Willow placed her hand under her wife’s chin, lifting her face gently until their eyes met in a most powerful glance.



“I swear to you…on my life…I will not go back if I can’t take you and our child with me. I will not leave you behind again.” Willow said, a look of determination on her face.



A single tear ran down the blonde’s face.



“You must go back, Willow. Their fate depends on it…”



Willow wiped the tear from Tara’s face, smiling gently.



“That’s just like you…always thinking of everyone else before yourself…my Tara.” She said, placing a chaste kiss upon her wife’s lips before easing back down onto her stomach, running her hand across the smooth skin beneath.



“What are you thinking about?” Tara asked, her hand gently sliding along the freckled skin of Willow’s back.



“You…me…us…our baby. What will she be like? She’ll most likely have some pretty powerful magicks flowing through her veins…”



“You’re so sure it’s going to be a girl?” Tara said, flashing a quirky smile.



“Well, yeah…pretty much has to be. You know…no ‘Y’ in the chromosomal make-up.” Willow said.



“No ‘Y’ in the what?”



“Chromosomal make-up…” Willow said, realizing Tara had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. “It’s what is inside us…in our bodies…that makes us the way that we are.” She said, looking for some sign that she was getting through to her. Suddenly, she came up with an idea…she uprighted herself, moving to face Tara, sitting in front of her. “It’s like…um…you have blue eyes…the most gorgeous blue eyes I’ve ever seen, by the way…and I have green ones…”



“The most beautiful shade of emerald green that I have ever seen.” Tara interjected with a smile.



Willow blushed “Thank you, baby. Anyhow…those traits were passed down to us by our parents, and the way that happened is that a part of each of them was combined when they…um…well…you know…and so you got that trait…the blue eyes…because you carry the chromosome for blue eyes…am I making any sense with the babble, here?”



“Yes, baby…I understand. I hope she has your fiery red hair…” Tara said, running her fingers through the strands of Willow’s hair.



“…and your cobalt blue eyes.” Willow said, leaning into Tara’s touch.



“…and your freckles.” Tara said, giggling.



“Are you crazy? I wouldn’t wish these darned things on anyone!” Willow said, adamantly.



“But baby…they’re so cute…” Tara said, leaning over to place a soft kiss on Willow’s left shoulder. “…and soft.” She said, kissing the other shoulder. “…and sexy.” She said, kissing the cleft between the red-head’s breasts.



Willow swallowed hard, her arousal welling up like a tidal wave, threatening to crash down upon her at any moment.



“Yeah?” She managed to say, her voice cracking in anticipation of what was yet to come.



“Definitely…kissable.” Tara said, her mouth moving over slightly, kissing the nape of her neck as she eased her wife back, descending upon her…





Meanwhile…



“Okay…it’s official. Somebody call Guinness…I’ve set the record for number of brain cells fried as the result of attempting to read ancient Sumerian or Runic…or whatever the frilly heck this is!” Xander said, slamming the ancient text that he was reading closed.



“You want us to call a brewery about this…this neurological problem?” Anya said, not quite getting the drift.



“An…honey…I’m talking about the record people…you know…keepers of the World Records…as in ‘The Guinness Book of World Records’???”

Anya cocked her head to one side, looking at Xander quizzically.



“Ah forget it. Call the brewery…what’s a few more brain cells?” Xander said, hitting his head on the table-top.



Faith, her face still buried in a text, put her hand on the top of Xander’s head, grabbing him by the hair and yanking his head into an upright position.



“Wait! I’ve got it!” She said, triumphantly.



“Ow! Yeah…you’ve got my hair right there in your hand…let go!” Xander whined.



“No! I’ve got a way we can get her back!”



“What?! Let me see!” Xander said, reaching for the book.



“Hands off, Xan-man! You always were a groper!” Faith said, guarding the book.



“A groper?” Anya said, her curiosity piqued by the Dark Slayer’s comment.



“A grouper! She meant I’m a grouper…you know…big ugly fish…that’s what they used to call me. Hey Grouper! Yep…that’s me…old Grouper-head.” Xander said, smiling nervously, trying to cover up he and Faith’s past sexcapades.



“Done with the fish-act? We need to get a hold of Giles and B…now!”
