I have missed this fic so much. I'm very very happy to see it back again.



I love the interaction between Willow and Tara. Willow trying to explain the whole "Y" chromosome thing was just adorable. I can just see the look on Tara's face. all and whatnot.

You can't blame the girl. I get confused about things like that even though I live in modern times. So the confusion is completely understandable.



Anya being completely oblivious to everything that was going on around her was so cute. I especially loved the "Guinness" thing.



I can't wait for more!

Chapter Fifty-seven



Giles’ cell phone rang just as he was about to question Maggie about her previous comment.



“Oh, I’m sorry. Please excuse me.” He said, reaching into his breast pocket for his cell phone. He pressed SEND on the keypad…



“Hello...Giles here.”



“G-man…it’s Faith. You and B need to get back here right now – and bring Red’s relatives with you. We’re gonna need ‘em.” Faith said, hurriedly.



“Wait. What are you talking about?” Giles said, somewhat confused.



“I found a way we can get Red back here where she belongs!”



“Slow down…now tell me exactly what you’ve found…and where it is that you found it.” Giles said skeptically.



“We don’t have time for all of your British bullshit, Giles! Now grab B and the mini-witch and get your asses back here!” Faith said, promptly hanging up the phone.



Giles held the phone away in disbelief.



“Good Lord, will that girl EVER get any manners?” He said, placing the phone back in his breast pocket.



“What’s the matter, Giles?” Buffy asked.



“It seems that Faith believes that she’s found a way that we can reach Willow and possibly bring her back.”



“Seriously? That’s great! Why are we still here? Let’s go!” Buffy said, enthusiastically.



“I’m afraid that whatever it is that Faith has discovered requires the presence of our new friends here, as well as ourselves.” Said Giles, looking at Maggie and Logan.



Meanwhile…



Willow and Tara lay on a bed of emerald green next to the magical springs, basking in the afterglow of their fervent lovemaking. Willow was on her back, with Tara at her side, caressing the smooth contours of the redhead’s taut body.



“See…” Tara said, leaning over to place a soft kiss on Willow’s collarbone “…kissable.”

Willow grinned with pleasure, her elf-like features literally glowing in the sunlight.



“What are you thinking?” Tara asked, observing the smile on her wife’s face.



“Mmmm…just thinking of what me might name her…have you thought of any names?” Willow said, looking to Tara.



“I don’t know…I haven’t really had time to think about it. My mother’s name was Meghan…” Tara said, thinking.



“Meghan…Maggie…I like that…I like it a lot, honey. Do you think your mother would have minded?” Willow said, remembering that Tara’s mother had passed away when she was a little girl.



“I think that she would have loved it, baby.” Tara said, smiling, her eyes misting over slightly from the thought of naming their daughter after her mother.



“What about a middle name?” Willow asked.



“Middle name?”



“You know…goes after the first name, before the last name…middle name.” Willow said, giggling.



“We have a few months, my love…nothing that we need rush at this point.” Tara smiled.



“True…but it’s so much more fun thinking about things like that, than what lies ahead of us in the not too distant future.” Willow said, the smile fading from her face.



Tara placed her arm around Willow’s midsection, holding her tight…they both knew that danger loomed ominously ahead…

CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT



The fit was close, but somehow they managed to get everyone into Giles’ convertible for the trip back to Sunnydale. Maggie rode shotgun while Buffy and Logan shared the rather small back seat.



“Nice little vehicle you’ve got here, Rupert! What’s it got under the hood?” Maggie asked, much to everyone’s surprise with the exception of Logan. She knew all about her grandmother’s penchant for sleek, wicked fast cars.



“Excuse me?” The Watcher said, not believing what he was hearing.



“Did I stutter? I asked you what kind of engine you’ve got in this little rocket!” Maggie said jokingly.



“Oh…well…you see, I’ve never been much into motors, myself…I…” he began, awkwardly.



“You mean to tell me you don’t know what you’re driving, here?” She said, purposely trying to get the proper Englishman’s dander up a bit.



“Yes, well…you see…that’s exactly what I mean to tell you.” He said, rather embarrassed by the whole thing.



“Giles! You bought the car without even worrying about what was under the hood? That’s like…like marrying somebody without ever…well…you know! Okay…maybe not such a good example…I mean…that’s like ordering something on the menu when you’re not even sure you’ll like it – just because it looks good!” Buffy said, finding it hard to believe that her

Watcher would have done something so foolhardy.



“Listen here! You have no room to talk…how much did you complain about how insanely uncomfortable that pair of pointy-toed boots was that you simply had to have?” Giles reminded his charge.



“Hey! They reminded me of ‘Mr. Pointy’…and besides…they look totally hot with my black leather pants…” She said, sheepishly as they continued their trek back to Sunnydale.



Meanwhile…



Xander paced nervously as Faith and Anya went over the spell book once again, awaiting the others return.



“So you really think that this is going to work? That

they’ll…we’ll…whoever will be able to get Wills back here?” Xander asked, never stopping the whole while.



“As much as I hate to admit it…I think Faith is right.” Anya said, continuing to translate the ancient Sumerian manuscripts. “It says something here about members of the same line being able to trace the path…I don’t know…we seriously need Giles here…he’s much better at this than I

am…Sumerian was never my ‘thing’.”



“Skipped out on that one in third grade, eh honey?” Xander asked, jokingly.



“What?” She said, looking up from the text.



“Nothing…nothing honey.” He said, trying to avoid the conflict.



“Geezus, you ARE whipped!” Faith said, snickering.



“I AM NOT!” Xander yelled.



“Well…yes…technically, she’s right…you are…remember the other night when I had your wrists tied to the headboard and…” Anya began.



Faith looked at Xander with her new-found information and grinned widely.



“…and I really wish you wouldn’t say another word, An!” Xander said, trying desperately to prevent her from revealing any more of the ‘juicy details’ of their sex life.



“Oooh! Xan-man! You haven’t changed a bit! Always did like the woman to be in charge, didn’t you?!” Faith said, laughing.



“I do not! Not always…well…maybe sometimes…”



“Actually, you’ve always said you liked me being on top…taking charge…telling you what to do…” Anya said, matter-of-factly.



“Oh my God! That is so true!” Faith laughed.



“You keep out of this!” Xander yelled.



Both women ignored him and continued their conversation…



“…and how about the way he likes to be held after he’s…” Anya started.



Xander looked up to the heavens, his arms outstretched, addressing the ‘powers that be’…



“Please…spare me the humiliation and just take me now…please? I really don’t think that’s too much to ask…I mean…hel-lo! Spend the majority of my time fighting the baddies…that must be good for something!”



Anya looked at her boyfriend, smiling. “He’s so cute when he gets flustered like that, don’t you think?”



“Right…if you say so!” Faith said, giggling.



“…and the way he likes to trace my nipple with his tongue right before he…” Anya began.



“I taught him that!” Faith exclaimed, still laughing.



“If there is a God in Heaven…He will strike me dead where I stand right now…” Xander said.



But it was not to be…for the powers that be still had many plans ahead for Mr. Alexander Harris…

Faith "taught him that" was too funny. Loved it -- well, except for the fleeting disturbing visual I had of Xander...Ewww!



And W/T, I imagine they're still enjoying their lovely steam bath...aaaahhh...nice...
