Good update!



I loved the mage-o-pause. LOL.



The turn of events with Dawn is interesting. First the fact that she is in love with Bre, and doesn't know it. In so many of the fan fics that I've read of late, Dawn is having feelings for women. I wonder if this is a general shift in the way that most people are seeing the character? Perhaps it's because she is the only one of the Scoobies that seemed really happy that Willow and Tara were together. The others mostly accepted it, but Dawn embraced it.



The fact that she was smoking freaked me out. She never seemed like the type to me. I know you must have based it on fact (i.e. med students smoking to relieve the stress of the job), but it seemed uncharacteristic of her to me.



I'm thinking that there is training in the future for Willow. She needs to train those magical muscles before she gets her full powers or there will be much trouble. Can Tara hold her power for as long as is necessary for Willow to be able to take it back safely?



I want more snuggly family time please. I know we are building up to a crisis situation here, but the family needs some time together, even if for just one scene.

Hey Lisa,



Great update. I actually like your version of Dawn, even though she is getting a little more likable on that UPN show. Like the her reaction to the news of Bre, and her talking to Cassie about. The Willow/Tara discussion was great, like Willow's response "...you know your getting spanked later, and not in a fun way." thought that was funny. The Brent/Emily/Tara scene was tense there for a bit. I feel bad for Willow even more now, she now has to go back to something that scares her more than losing Tara.....Magic.



There is one thing I was concerned with, and maybe it was just me. Tara got off really relatively light with everyone. Probally get the yelling at by several people in future update, but I thought she got off pretty light so far. Must be nice to have that overloading mage power can't control my actions excuse to help. I think Willow should sleep somewhere else other than with Tara for a few nights (every action as a consesquence...and blowing up a bed is the action, and not getting to sleep by a certain redhead is the consequence).



I do have one question also which I can't really remember if it was said or not. Were the Keepers ordered to stay away from Willow also? I ask this because when I run a RPG game, I am picky about how exactly players word things sometimes. For example, if the Imbolic Guards only stated they would stay away from Lady Tara and her child, only Tara and Brianna would be held under that threat. Just something I thought I would ask, your stories do that to me......keep me thinking of all this stuff.



Well keep up the good job and can't wait til the next update.

Lisa of Nine: Great update, and you were right about the little twist at the end, I don't thing anybody was expecting that, I mean who would have thought that Willow would also be a Mage. I REALLY, really hope that nothing too bad happens with Willow PLEASE, I mean I ABSOLUTELY HATE the thought of Willow going back to dark magic, so I hope nothing too bad happens. Wow...that was a very eventful update! You are soo good to us, posting an update every week....that must be a lot of work on your part. Thank you soooooo much!!



OOOhh...no more dark magic Willow, pleeeeease.... I've had too much of that last season. I don't want Willow to go all evil and bad again....especially now that she has her children....she wouldn't right? I'd think she'd be much stronger and smarter about that stuff because Tara is a sensitive which would make her children sensitive as well, right?...and she is breast feeding Megan....oh...she can't go all bad again, but I do like that Willow will have some kind of power now and will stop being the junior partner...magic-wise.



Secondly...someone asked that you make all the characters gay....uh...please don't. That would make your story unrealistic and cheesy. I like it how it is. But I've always thought Dawn might be a lesbian or bisexual. She seemed (notice the past tense...I haven't been watching, which takes a lot of will power on my part because I had been watching this show since the very beginning. I think I was like fourteen then) very open on the show. That is sooo cute that Dawn loves Bre. I knew she would fall in love with her someday. What was her name before she became part of the guard....Amanda or something, right? It's not important, I was just trying to remember. Poor Buffy....she's going to still be all alone...unless that one horse guy works out She's also going to be the only "straight" one except for Xander and Anya...but I think Anya might be a little on both sides.

Bre's name was Amanda before she joined the Imbolc Guard as replacement for Breda (killed by first Keeper on the meadow-that-is-no-more) hence her name. Read up on your facts at UC chapter 35 .



How interesting... the London sactuary is referred to as 'Kildare' by Kaley [MS12] (who's from Kildare appearantly) ... and Bre has an aunt who serves at that sanctuary [UC35]. I knew Kildare sounded familiar, heh.

and can I just say, it's about time that dawn and bre started progessing toward the gettin' down! I totally knew there was more back when dawn & amanda first met in UC, the way dawnie was all gushy about her to everyone and how her eyes lit up when she (amanda) walked into the dining hall. and yeah, it would be fake and cheesy to force all the scoobies to be gay, but to be honest...I don't think that there's really much force-age that would be necessary. I too have always thought that dawn could be into girls, and we all know that anya has always had a solid "double hinged gate" in lisa's world. xander and giles, I dunno... they're not really in this fic and that's fine with me anyway. that really just leaves buffy. so where's faith when you need her, eh? I guess when you really come down to it, I generally assume most girls are at least bi at heart



as far as mage-o-pause and all the ramifications... oy vey asmir. that was a really good twist, lisa. but I know that willow can do this! wiccan boot camp, I think someone else said, is just what she needs. and I think that the seond she finds out that she could lessen tara's suffering by controlling her own powers, she'll have all the incentive and anchor she needs to work it. I mean, damn, emily, brent and tara were all acting like willow was some delicate, well, willow branch, like she would snap in a second under any pressure! that is not our willster! so not. this has got to be about balance between them, of powers and burdens. it's tantamount not only to them and their relationship, but to bri and her future as the mantle of brigit. seeing her parents sharing and balancing each other's mage powers during such a formative time in her own life will give her something no amount of formal training of study could ever provide.

Yes Willow is strong. But I see it like this.

Willow had to be so strong after Buffy died and then into losing Tara, that she found comfort in not being the strong one.



I doubt she even cares that the rest of the DotF treat her like the "junior partner", it only matters to her how Tara treats her. And we all saw what occurs when that happens.



I mean come on, she threatened Brigan to be stripped from the Imbolc Guard. Willow has done that what? Maybe one other time? Sure Willow at 21 would have, but Willow in her 30s, mother of two is a different person. Same but different.



See. Willow is like my wife was. At 20 Natalie was wild and together we were somethign else. But now in our 30s she is clamed down, more sedate.

Tara is like my sister Lori (they also share a birthday). In her 20s Lori was shy, withdrawn and closed off. Now in her 30s she is coming into herself and found where she has power. Just like Tara is doing now.



Those moments though that they are together (Willow and Tara, not my wife and my sister cause, eww, this is the Willow/Tara show, not Springer) we see that they are what they have always been. Soulmates, forever.



Also. I was a closeted Dawn/Bre supporter too. I mean Dawn took relationship advice from who? Buffy. I bet she has dated some loser guys in her day.

okay, I feel really rude for posting twice so close together, but...I just can't contain myself sometimes. a few more things I was thinking about



1) dawnie is getting a little more self-destructive than I'd like. the smoking, ok, I get it, but the reference to the pub, and 48 hours of drunkenness when she should be recovering from emotional trauma? I don't like that. I am not big with the emotional-repression dawn.



2) is emily still british? 'cause her dialogue is sounding more and more american all the time, not at all how you characterized her when tara first stumbled onto her doorstep in england. just wondering.



3) this is a direct question, lisa-- meant with the utmost respect-- do you want editorial notes? I mean, in the grammatical sense? I only ask because I know it's easier to have others point these things out so you can correct them quickly and easily and not waste your own precious time fussing over the details. I would be happy to fuss over them for you, but I wasn't sure if you wanted that? ok, that's it.



4) I just have to ask, are you like the big knowledge woman on every possible topic? I was thinking when dawn and dr. douglass were discussing dawn's patient, how you never gloss over any technical discussions or information... it's like you have your own research team, or else you have your own inner-willow! it's pretty awesome.

This is like an episode of ER! But in a good way . Great update, I like how Brent told Tara she doesn't let Brianna act up so she won't let Tara act up either.

Always good for a parent to be reminded they're supposed to be the role model

Poor Dawn, losing her first patient and then receiving the news about Bre. Probably a very human reaction to lash out at Tara.

Aunt Fluffy doesn't do diapers, uh? She's missing out on some great leverage when Megan's a little older

What's wonderful about Willow and Tara is that they are both so protective of each other.

I really like where you're going with both of them getting mage powers. Great twist.

Hopefully Brent and Emily will find a way to help Willow handle all this power, or maybe Tara should face the music and help Willow exercise those magic muscles.

Either way, I'm looking forward to the next part. Thanks for writing this.

I was initially worried at the thought of Dawn smoking. I've heard the stress of internship/residency can make you wish you had chosen another profession, but I have faith in Lisa's version of Dawn.



Now, Will and Tara both as mages??? That's gonna be fun, once all the details come together. Can you imagine what both of their combined powers could do? Keepers beware!



Even when Brent is mad she's funny. Loved the whole exasperated 'tude when Tara was systematically torching everything in her office. **snort**

I have to say ditto to what everyone else has said so far.



Tiyo, That scene with Brent in her office made me snicker, too. Hee... I can just imagine the look on her face.



Emily was about to drive me crazy, the way she was skipping around and not fully answering Tara's and everyone's questions. Just the way she was pushing Tara, it kinda made me angry. Grrr... I understand what she is trying to do though.



Willow being a mage. This has me worried, kinda. Especially the part about her not having used her powers in so long. The ramifications of that could be... frightening? And as Tiyo said... the combined power of W AND T... look out Keepers and all baddies. I'd be scared, if I were them.



ANYA!!! So glad she is back. I just love your Anya. She's so hillarious. Hopefully will see more of her, soon??



You know, I always thought Dawn had feelings for Bre and vice versa. Glad Cassie could catch on to that. I wonder if Dawn does know it yet?? Can't wait to see what happens when they actually see each other.



Poor Tara. I can just imagine how she must be feeling, knowing that Bre was hurt. Will we get to see Tara actually going to see Bre? I know I'd like to see that.



One more thing, is Buffy finally going to find someone? I like Michael. I was very worried about him at first. Glad to know he's a good guy. Can't wait to see what happens with him.



I loved the scene between Willow and Tara. I'm just glad that Willow was able to put aside her hurt and anger and worrying, to comfort Tara. As it should be. Can't wait for them to talk, cause they sooo need to.

Wonderful upate! The whole thing was great but thats not so shocking! The Willow and Tara confrontation was well emotional yet kinda sweet. But i know later there will be arguing and yelling and all that not so good stuff. I really don't think Willow needs to keep all that bottled up inside her anyway. I'm not saying i want another huge fight in play, i just think they need to talk and get everything settled. And if they can do that w/o all the yelling and badness then that'll be good!



This whole Willow, soulmate, mage thingy isn't so shocking to me... i mean Willow being Tara's soulmate and Tara being this mage she has to be something more than what she comes off being. I'm glad they finally discovered it and i'm really lookin forward to hearing more bout it.



Dawn and Bre, lets just say i totally Love the idea! Through the whole update i knew Dawn felt a lil more than friendship love for Bre and when Cassie read her aura, it was very exciting. I just hope she confronts Bre bout it soon. Speaking of Bre, i'm really happy she's gonna be ok... i was really worried. Hopefully Dawn and her will get some alone time soon to 'talk'.

and things have been really sad around here. I've been taping my

hijacks power from the universe to use for her bidding. Hijacked

energy is stolen, since taken without permission, and as such is

tainted... which is why it poisons sensitives like Tara. Heck,

this is all from the depths of my imagination, so it's bound to

be confusing.





Another direct question... from Newruthrising, "Can you make all

the Scoobs be gay?"

Spike/Xander or Giles/Clem. Still want that? ;-)

**** The keepers were warned not to come anywhere near Tara. If

they so much as look at her, Brent has threatened to kill every Keeper on the face of the earth. Since the keeper's lackeys were a

far distance away, and 2 were killed, I think she may let that be

a warning. As for Willow, the Keepers are to stay away from all

Tara's loved ones.

from the goddess, so they are not tainted. Megan can chow down to

her little heart's content. Medication is another thing all

I completely agree. Dawn is being destructive and much like Tara

being a major biccan, this needs to be addressed. Take cover for

the soon to appear social comentary to follow. *spoiler* Don't

expect Bre/Dawn to be all hugs and puppies, and this issue will

play a role.

She is still British. LOL I've written her less tea and crumpety

than when she was at home in her cottage. She's in the US now,

and has been exposed to Anya for several months at home. She's picked up

some Anya traits as well as given Anya a few British mannerisms.

If you have any suggestions, please send them to my email. (I am

woefully lacking when it comes to British-isms. I have tons of

southern slang sayings, but not many British ones.)

*** I am cursed with recall. I have information stored that was

never useful in the first place. (I mean, really, who needs to

know Debra Winger played Wonder Woman's sister Drucilla in the

the original TV series?) I watch TONS of documentaries and I read

a lot before I post the medical stuff. I have a site that lists

medical histories from the point the ambulance picks up the

person through post op. Plus I have a sister who is an RN. She

thinks I am obsessed with birth. Little does she know I've

written two children into this story. As for other areas, I do

lots of net research and have a pretty good library. As a

practicing wiccan, I have tons of herb books and references for

the wiccan theology, plus I make up stuff for the Imbolc mage. If

you see a goddess, I've generally read up on her and try to be

accurate. (All the guardian names...Brent's guardians, not whinny

Kaley- are named after names for Brigit. Also, Diana is a name

for Artemis, goddess of childbirth-hence the OB/GYN. Cassie is

Cassandra, named after the soothsayer who saw the future but was not

believed. (Yes, I used that tired name tie in long before BtVS

did their ep that will air tonight. JW is not so innovative as he

thought. Hercules, Star Trek, and many TV shows have been there,

done that with the name Cassie.) FYI, I picked that name in UC

because Tara would not heed Cassie's warnings about the baby.

source of comfort knowing there are folks enjoying my work.

With school, work and real life, I've neglected posting personal thank
