Story dissapeared

Postby pipsberg » Wed Jun 16, 2004 8:19 pm

My story, The Rosenberg Institute, seems to have dissapeared off the board. It was here last night. Any idea what could have happened? I also seem unable to join chat. It keeps telling me 'incorrect authorization code;'.

PLEASE DISREGARD, I BELIEVE THIS WAS A REFRESH ISSUE.

Thanks Warduke. Normally when I browse page to page, it refreshes fine for me. However tonight it was not refreshing and I couldn't find it on any page. I cleared my cookies and came back and it seemed ok. I appreciate you checking.

Buffy's Address

Hey BWR

I believe that Buffy's address is 1630 Revello Drive, Sunnydale. That is what is written as the location in various Buffy transcripts. Hope this helps

Not sure if anyone can help me. In theuK when a young probationer cop starts they are paired with a more experienced cop and the process using slang is called puppy walking; is there any US expression that would be used in the same way?

Give it a try now, pipsberg, to make sure it worked.

Hi irishlassie101 :wave

The fic you're looking for is Christmas Future by Katharyn and Kerry. It is archived in the W/T completed fics archive A-K.

Here is the link:

Magrat,

To the best of my knowledge, new cops/trainees are called rookies, and the term "babysitting" is often used, at least on cop shows/movies I have seen.

I've read in several different fics that Tara is allergic to shrimp. (Although in The Dark Rose her reincarnation was allergic to peanuts instead.) Did this come from the show or is it a theme that many have run with in their stories?

To enter the chat you need to have a Java capable browser. Either your browser doesn't have the required plug in to use Java programs, or it's disabled.

What browser are you using?

Acronym?

Postby watersong84 » Thu Oct 14, 2004 8:12 pm

Ok, this is a stupid question, but I simply cannot figure it out. I know what the word "smut" means, and what it refers to :flirt And I am all for it. But where does the word come from? Is it an acronym? Or is it just a plain old word in English that I never heard until i started reading this oh-so-wonderful waste of time? Thank. You. :D

eta: Ok, never mind. I figured it out all by myself. Aren't you proud? :D . I really have never heard that word before. I guess it's a good way to say "porn" without actually saying "porn". Hmmm.

Postby tarawhipped » Thu Oct 14, 2004 8:32 pm

Hi watersong84!

Even though you already figured it out, I thought my thread may have been responsible for the initial question, so I thought I'd drop by with a tidbit I found on dictionary.com.

The term 'smut' comes from the Middle English word smotten or smutten, which meant 'to defile.'
