Hello kittens...I've spent the better part of this morning looking for a fic that I have been wanting to read. I wrote it down a while back and now I can't seem to find it anywhere!!!

I hope that was the fic that you were looking for but if it wasn't there is another thread here on pens better suited for getting help in finding fics or multimedia than this one. I think it is called something like: 'need help finding W/T fics or multimedia?'. Usually you have better odds of someone recognising the fic that you want to find in that thread than in any other thread

I have a question regarding a certain fic of mine that I want to post on the board, but it's set in the S7 episode "The Killer in Me" Of course it has a very different ending-Willow gets her Tara back from the dead. Is it OK just to go ahead and post such a fic, or should I PM/e-mail a moderator first, tell the idea to her, and let her decide if it's OK or not? I don't want to do the wrong thing.

Hey, UnicornLover. There's really no way to change the name of a thread's poster. If you would like to repost the fic yourself, under your own name, that's fine. But the original thread (started by Aine) will be removed from Pens, so if you want to save any of the feedback, you'd need to do that first.



You can also continue to post your updates yourself in Aine's thread if you like.



It's entirely up to you, but we can't have two copies of the same fic on Pens.



Please feel free to mail/message me (or any mod) if you have any questions.

hey there, I had a great idea for a new fic and everything, but I was wondering if there is anyway to get a poll kinda thing in my updates in a thread here on different colour pens.



are polls jus limited to the polls thread? if they are then no worries, i can work around it if there is some sorts code i can use to make one with HTML or something then i wouldn't mind using it if i can. assistance please and greatly recieved!

Um..So i was thinking.. Could we get a "Blurb" thread, where each and every author (if they so choose) leave a small blurb about their fic. This would make it so much easier for everyone to find the type of fics they are intrested in. As well it would allow people to know whats out there..

I think it may depend on your connection but I find you need to break things up around every 4000-5000 words otherwise ezboard seems to fall over and not accept the update, that's why when I post my stories they are in four or five parts. For anything shorter than that its really up to you how you do it, some people put up a lot of shorter updates because they like to post material as soon as they have it written and it makes for more frequent posts so readers don't have to wait as long.

If your sure your story follows the rules in the FAQ start a new thread and cut and paste your story into it. If you want to be absolutely sure before you start you can ask a Beta reader to check it or ask the moderators.

I'm currently writing a time travel fic and I'm in need of some chronological information. Does anyone know what year it was around Entropy? And what age Willow and Tara were then? And Dawn too, she was at her teens, I remember, but what age exactly?

The usual point of reference is the first US air date, Entropy was aired on April 30th, 2002. Tara's birthday has been established as November 7th, 1980 so she was 21 1/2 then. Willow's birthday has never been revealed but she was probably the same age (unless she skipped a grade or two in school).



Dawn was 14 when The Real Me was aired (October 3rd, 2000), so in 2002, depending on her birthday, she was either 15 or 16.

I would disagree on one point: I've always believed that Tara was a year older and ahead of Willow in college. During Family she is about to turn 20. That is Willow's Sophomore year which would mean that Willow was 19 when she started college. I think being 18 is more expected, depending on the time of year your birthday falls. I've always believed that Willow, Buffy, and Xander are a year younger than Tara.

It was never mentioned on the show, but the UPN site has 1982 for Willow's birth year and 1981 for Buffy.

I've also always gone with that, mainly because Tara seemed to be established at college whereas Willow was a new arrival. Also the reference in 'Tough Love' to Tara being out longer suggests she must have been at UC Sunnydale longer because I really can't see her coming out when she was living with dear old dad.

Re;the ages, I don't know how Califiornia schools do school start ages (assuming the MAclays are rural-Cal types) but Willow and Xander are clsoe enough in ageto have been 5 at the same time and Buffy was born early '81 which would essentially put Tara in the same "age cohort" as the Sunnydale High grads. (I figure either Xander or Tara as the oldest, then Buffy, Cordy,Harmony, and Willow in that order.)

As for having "beren out longer" that could technically eman since September since Willow didn't even meet Tara until February. Or maybe Tara had reached a point even during high school where she'd be willing to identify as gay to anyone she felt she could trust; that "anyone" could be a fairly nebulous category,of course.

Calling Faith "LAhane" doesn't sit greeat with me either. Anyone who looks like Eliza should ahve an Eastern European name;she doesn't "look" Irish. Since Albanian names aren't especially recognizable to English-reading audiences I gave her a Slavic name in my fic "Never Bet the Devil SOemone ELse's Head" which was posted shortly before the "announcement."

A quick question of my own...I have just posted the first chapter of a new fic which does not yet have a title...my question is, when I do think of a title, how do I go in and edit the file so that the title will come up on the menu page?
