I can’t begin to tell you all how blown away I am by all the lovely feedback. This story’s hardly begun, and it’s so much fun to write, and it means a lot that people are enjoying it. Thank you.
Artemis: Hiya Chris, glad you’re all caught up. I guess it’s no surprise that Willow’s going to find a reason to stay awhile, though as of this next chapter, she’s still telling herself she’s leaving. And your assumption about her relationship with the Law is not far off. Maybe not Wanted posters, but wanted nonetheless, and soon someone (not telling who, yet) will think they recognize ol’ Red.
meretricious: I’m happy the update was a treat, Mary. I have a spastic cat, so I understand. I love playing with gender identity, and Julie Andrews…*sigh*…I swear her Maria in Sound of Music is the reason I’m a lesbian.
Tara is most definitely the one keeping the business running, and not to take away from her hard work, but it is a one-saloon town. Where else are parched folks gonna go?
EasierSaid: Thanks Heather! I love the way you phrase your synopses, it always gives me a chuckle.
Warren alone does seem like he’d be an inconsequential ass, but in this case he’s got someone who’s actually dangerous calling the shots, so he’s going to be trouble. As for Willow’s reaction, it’s not just the clothes. And I’m glad you like protective Willow (how come
I never make girls swoon?

) cause there’ll be a lot more of her.
wimpy0729: Nice to see you’re behavin’ yerself, Wimpy. Glad you liked the flirting and Tara’s thoughts. It’ll be a while before all is revealed (though it will be a full reveal when it happens). In the meantime, there will be more of the “does gender really matter when it comes to love” type soul-searching.
As for ranches…I suppose there must be one somewhere…it’s a little far off right now though.
silentinformer: Sorry about the fashion confusion. I suck at describing clothes and hair and hats and probably many other things. I did have in mind the Maverick style that Idgie mentioned, though. Glad you liked Tara’s disbelief at her own feelings. I wanted to show that while heterosexuality may be society’s idea of normal, it’s not for her. How she deals with her feelings will play a big role.
Arwen276: Thank you Arwen! Willow’s shady past won’t be revealed for a bit, though there may be hints of it in another couple of chapters. Glad you appreciated the name thing.
Viximon: Thank you Viximon, and I’m glad you like it. Ahh, so you’re wondering if ‘Will’ flirts with all the ladies or just Tara? Well, whatever her history, Willow’s gonna realize pretty quickly that Tara’s a special case, and it’s not just casual flirting.
Whisper: Thanks Whisper! There will indeed be many people from the Buffy-verse popping up, several in the next chapter. As for Donnie, the cards are (literally) stacked against him, but I wanted to make him more of a hard-luck guy than a villain. There’s going to be enough bad guys in this story as it is. Speaking of which, Willow’s reaction to Warren has less to do with her disguise than with her past (and present) activities. Don’t worry, though, he’ll eventually get what’s coming to him. Willow’s history will develop slowly, so I don’t want to say too much, but I’m glad you liked her interaction with Tara. As for Tara finding out Willow’s identity,
Quote:
I’m thinking she’ll either be pissed and storm out or she’ll thank the gods
Hmmm…possibly both.
Idgie: To even mention my fic in relation to School Days makes me feel incredibly honored. I too am a veteran of that wonderful ordeal, and now I see what I must do: string you all along until you’re begging for mercy and then drag it out just a little bit longer.

Much as I despise Mel Gibson, that is the general look I was going for with Willow, but Tara’s a lot less flashy than Jodie was. Thanks Idgie!
robotguru: No worries on lack of feedback, since you’ve more than made up for it by posting twice in one update now. Texas Holdem is sooo addictive, but unfortunately my poker face tends more towards

or

instead of

As for revealing Will/Willow:
Quote:
poor Tara, she’ll find out soon though right?
Ummm…define ‘soon.’
babyblue: Thank you bb, and I hope you’re feeling better. I discovered uber fic at Through the Looking Glass (Artemis’ site, there’s a link to it under ‘links’ if you haven’t seen it yet), and I thought it was so cool where people have taken these characters. Now you’ve got me thinking about what to do next…hmmm…but I think I better finish this one first.
eirnlove: I’m glad you like it, and I try not to make readers wait too long in between updates (mostly ‘cause I fear you’ll all go find some other fic and forget about mine).
WickedReds and alysagoddess85: Okay you two, no ganging up on me or I’ll put you in the story as two girls fighting over Donnie!

Um, sorry mel, no rodeo, but a showdown between Will and Warren may be brewin’ in the future. Until then, just…play grabby-ass amongst yourselves or something. Oh, and Reds?
Quote:
Warren is a fuckmook
Errr…I don’t know what that is…but it sounds bad, so I guess he is.
TempestDuer: Oh! I love “Just One of the Wiccans.” That was a riot!

You truly have a gift there, my friend. There’s a laundromat on the north side of Chicago (in a fairly gay area) called ‘Queen’s Basket,’ and I just dissolve into giggles every time I go past it, wondering if the owner has a clue.
hotydnic: Stop pacing! You’re making me dizzy! Update coming right up.
pipsberg: No apology necessary, pips. I’m just thrilled to see you back on the board, one of
my most favorite writers! I have to admit I was a little worried that I was stepping on your genre, so it means a lot to me that you like it.
shuyaku: Thank you! It’s been a lot of fun to write, and I’m glad people are finding it fun to read. While Willow definitely doesn’t want her feminine identity revealed, her reaction to Warren had more to do with other issues, which will play out in time.
