...this story is beautiful.

I can't believe i just found it! :aww

But i'm so glad i did! It's beautiful, romantic, funny, sexy and- ok i'll stop now. :blush

I love the mum's they are sooo funny!

Quote:
"What’re you so happy about?" The blonde questioned cautiously, such a smile usually meant her mother knew something she shouldn’t or was up to something she shouldn’t be.

“Nothing I’m just happy to see you.”

“Um hm.” Tara retorted sceptically.

:eyebrow That's the kind of crap my mum pulls on me!

I love how your slowly building their relationship, not rushing into anything and moving at their own pace. Even though i would be quite happy to see them just jump each other and get to the w/t lovin'... opps did i just say that out loud? :blush

Quote:
“Eight are you kidding me I’ll still be blowing Zzz’s?!”

That would have been my reaction!!

:lol :lmao :rofl :lol :lmao :rofl

Great story... Keep it up!!

PS - LOVED the bath scene!! :)

Postby GayNow » Wed Mar 16, 2005 12:45 am

I heard so many wonderful things about this story that I finally decided to dive in and read it. And read it all I did...in one sitting. And now, I am really jonesing for an update. *sigh* I do this to myself all the time.

I love the subtle, yet defining, characteristics of the Willow and Tara we all know and love showing through these two women. But at the same time, there is something undeniably unique about each of them...something that goes beyond the expected characterizations to add more depth. Perhaps this is showing us a side to Willow and Tara that Joss wasn't able to show? I'm not sure. I just know that I really like these women. They are people with whom I would like to be friends.

That being said, I will now slip back into the land of the lurking and impatiently await another update. I certainly hope it comes soon!

I really love how you've let Willow and Tara's relationship develope slowly but steadily. And it's really funny and cute when for example Willow was feeling jealous over that nurse smiling at Tara. :laugh Warm and caring Tara taking care of Willow when she's injured is just awwww. :heart It's really beautiful, and I don't know any better way of explaining what I think of the fic and Willow & Tara's relationship in this fic. :heart Kudos to you for a really heartwarming fic. :bow

Spark To A Flame

Postby Auburn » Mon Mar 21, 2005 8:17 pm

Email address: GemmaQT@hotmail.com

Rating: PG-13 I think...

Disclaimer: I don't own these characters but the story is mine.

Summary: Tara admires Willow from a distance until an accident brings them closer together. Some angst, but obviously I wouldn’t do anything too awful to read.

Notes: I had one but I can't remember what it was. I'll edit when I remember!

15 A walk in the park:

Tara sat with her back against her favourite tree, her butt was cold as usual, but it didn’t matter she was used to the sensation and instead of worrying about it she simply ignored it. It seemed silly, but a cold butt reminded her of her favourite place to be, the place where all her dreams and fantasies seemed to develop and flow into something more meaningful and as she sat here with her legs spread out in front of her and her chin resting playfully on Willow’s shoulder, Tara couldn’t help feeling like she had come home. This was not just a park to them, it was something else, comforting and familiar.

Willow tapped away on her computer happily nestled between Tara’s legs, Her body resting against her girlfriends, she felt warm and safe yet her mind had difficulty processing the unbelievable truth.

“I’m in the park.” She stated thoughtfully, her fingers left the keys for a moment as her brow knitted together. “I’m in the park with you, the blonde girl who was always writing.”

Tara sniffled against the cold and wrapped her arms around her girlfriend’s waist.

“And I’m in the park with the redhead who was always reading. It’s surreal isn’t it? Here we are months later sitting together.”

“Did you ever check me out?”

“What?” Tara managed to choke out, she could feel her face begin to burn despite the cold.

“Y’know, did you ever think I was hot? Ever fantasise about me? That kind of stuff.”

“What kind of question is that?”

“One you’re avoiding obviously. C’mon I wanna know....”

Tara rolled her eyes and laughed at her girlfriends unconvincing pout, but she gave her 8 points for effort.

“I thought about you. Sometimes I wondered why you looked so sad, sometimes I wondered what you were thinking and sometimes I wondered how you’d look having an orgasm. No big....” The blonde shrugged trying to be nonchalant.

“No big?” It was Willow’s turn to blush “That’s big and kinda pervy. You thought that?”

Tara laughed at her girlfriend’s childlike wide-eyed expression. “I thought that. I still think that.” She smiled devilishly and kissed Willow softly before whispering “....And I’ll find out soon enough.”

Willow felt her heart begin to race at Tara’s sexual innuendo and suddenly found herself unable to keep the mental image of them together from invading her thoughts, Their bodies tangled, mouths locked and hands roaming. Heat emanating from them in waves it was all she could do not to whimper and instead bit her lip, glancing at her lap top then back at Tara she was certain the blonde knew what she was thinking.

“Uh... I..... I.... Work.” She managed to mutter and pointed at her computer.

“Sure.” Tara smirked, pleased with herself.

Moments passed as they sat together, their breaths steaming in the cold and the crisp air surrounding them seemed silent, almost peaceful. Birds tweeted and the trees swayed lightly in the subtle breeze. Tara smiled thoughtfully, after all her wondering and wishing, the endless hours she sat in this very spot by her self just thinking about the mysterious redhead that now sat nestled against her. It all seemed like it had happened to someone else and she had simply been observing from a distance.

She looked at Willow, her pale silky skin accentuated her deep green eyes and made her red hair more noticeable, she was like some painting hung on the wall in some time old art gallery meant to be looked at and not touched.

Willow stopped typing for a moment and studied her girlfriends face, she recognised the look, she had seen it the night before and she smiled lovingly at Tara before resuming her work, understanding the blonde’s need to just think for a moment.

“S-so I brought you here for a reason.” Tara finally spoke and watched as the redhead immediately pushed her laptop to one side. “I brought you here b-because I thought it would be nice for us to come back to where we started from, t-this place seems like a symbol of sorts for how we got to where we are now.”

Willow nodded her understanding and agreement allowing Tara to go on.

“When I used w-watch you, I always wondered what it would be like to hear you laugh, whether you slept on your side or your back, what food you liked, what job you did, what perfume you wore.... because I didn’t know the answers to these questions I made them up ...a-and I wrote about you, in my book, I mean. You’re the main character. Since I met you everything you did I wrote about, but I never figured I’d have to tell you because I never thought we’d even be friends never mind girlfriends.” Tara took a deep breath and bit her lip as Willow continued to stare at her, her face was unreadable and the blonde began to worry. “Are you mad?”

The redhead blinked once, twice and after the third time a smile began to tug at the corners of her mouth. “I used to wonder those things to.” She admitted, her voice was low and thoughtful. “I tried to rationalise it as just me being nosey, but it was something more. I was attracted to you and every time I sat in that same spot on the grass it was because that was the best place to sit and stare at you without you realising.” She paused for a moment, “I’m not mad... flattered, but not mad.”

Tara half smiled at Willow’s words, and held the redhead tighter. The smaller woman sighed contentedly and relaxed in her girlfriends arms.

“Did you only come out here to write when we didn’t know each other?” Willow asked as she watched the water of the lake ripple lightly in the breeze.

“At first I came here to get some inspiration and I found something unexpectedly inspiring.”

Willow turned in the blondes arms to face her girlfriend and they studied each other for a moment.

Tara’s big blue eyes seemed to pierce Willow’s as she gently tucked a stray hair behind the redhead’s ear she then stroked her warm hand softly against Willow’s cool cheek. A small smile formed on her lips as her girlfriends green orbs took in the features of her face. Tara couldn’t believe how adorable Willow was, her cute innocence and childlike enthusiasm made the blonde’s heart melt and as they sat in the peacefulness of their favourite place, small yet perfectly shaped crystals of snow began to fall from the sky. With elegance and grace they landed on the ground without making a sound and Tara knew the timing was right.

“I love you Willow.” She whispered and watched as recognition of her words seeped into her girlfriend’s mind. Her heart felt lighter as if speaking those three words had lifted a weight from within her chest and it was now free to beat again as normal.

“W-w-what?” Willow stammered unable to grasp the mere reality of what just occurred, she looked at the lake, the grass, the birds then back at Tara “Wh-wha-what?”

The blonde giggled at her girlfriends gaping mouth and placed her index finger beneath Willow’s chin to close it.

“I’m in love with you Willow. You’re incredibly smart and kind and beautiful and I’m in love with you.”

“.... But I.... I...”

Tara placed her finger over Willow’s soft lips to quieten her and gently shook her head.

“It’s ok I don’t want you to feel like you have to say it back, I just needed you to know. If there’s one thing I’ve learned since meeting you is never to leave something you can do now until later. You could get hit by a car and never have the chance.”

The redhead just stared at Tara, her frustration at not being able to tell the blonde what she deserved to hear almost broke her heart, she felt deeply for Tara, she knew she did, but the words just wouldn’t flow. Instead Willow did the only thing she could think of and captured her girlfriends lips, trying to portray as much love in her kiss as possible.

The kiss was fierce at first, as Willow hoped somehow Tara would feel the love she wanted to proclaim, but the blonde lifted her hand and gently cupped Willow’s face to calm her and take over. She soothed her girlfriend by softly stroking her thumb over the redhead’s cheek and removing the doubt, insisting with her strokes that she wasn’t angry or upset and when she felt Willow calm, Tara opened her mouth and deepened the kiss.

**

Willow stood unsteadily, her hands holding tightly to the crutches her physiotherapist had given her to move around with, and she slowly, but surely moved forward. Her left arm twitched a little with pain as it helped hold some of her weight, but it was a bearable pain and she ignored it.

Finally getting to where she wanted to be, Willow smiled in triumph. This was the first time she had been able to get anywhere in two months without somebody having to assist, but as she stood in front of her candle the redhead’s smile turned into a frown and she realised something was missing, something wasn't right about this situation. In fact it was absolutely wrong, and definitely worth pouting about.

Searching the room, Willow saw what she wanted and hobbled over to it. Her cell phone along with her lap top used to be her most prized possessions, but looking at them now they didn’t seem to demand her absolute attention like they used to.

Flipping her Cell open the redhead went to her phone book and found the number she wanted, she was about to dial when the idea struck her as ludicrous. Why would she want to tell Tara that she had just managed to get across the room on her own? Why did it feel so wrong that Tara hadn’t seen her do it? Or been a part of it?

Willow manoeuvred herself awkwardly to the edge of her bed and sat carefully, wincing a little at the pain in her leg. She moved a stray red hair from her face then tucked it behind her ear, and thought for a moment.

When Tara had told Willow she was in love with her almost a week ago. Willow had felt guilty that she hadn’t said those words back, and since then she had been questioning herself and her love for Tara. She found herself watching the blonde and everything she did, whether it was chewing on the end of her pen when she was writing, which was a regular occurrence, or sleeping, or singing along to a song on the radio. Willow knew that if she went for even just a week without seeing those simple things it would hurt, not just make her sad, but hurt as if something was missing. Like if one shoe loses another shoe then they’re no longer a pair of shoes, it’s just a sad old shoe all by itself. The redhead didn’t want to be a sad old Willow all by herself, she wanted to be a pair, with Tara, forever. And that she knew was love.

The redhead looked at the door as a shrill of laughter penetrated the wood and filled the quiet room. It was her mother’s laughter, only it sounded a little different as if it was just let free instead of trying to be subdued. Willow always remembered the way her mother laughed so her surprise was written on her face.

Deciding to investigate what was so funny the redhead grabbed her crutches and said a prayer so she wouldn’t end up in a heap on the floor before she even got to the door, manoeuvring with the crutches was more of an effort that she had anticipated.

When she got the hall she could still hear the faint titters of a chuckle, that chuckle wasn’t her mother’s and when she finally managed to get to the doorway of the kitchen she saw her mother standing on one of the kitchen chairs trying to stick a pin in the wall to hold up the party decorations, she couldn’t quiet get the decoration straight and this was causing her and Mrs Maclay to burst into fits of laughter.

“Willow!” Mrs Rosenberg shouted as the motion of her daughter shaking her head at them had caught her attention. “You’re up, how are you feeling? Are you ok? Do you need something?”

“Give her a chance Sheila.” Mrs Maclay chipped in playfully whilst helping her friend off the chair. “How are you sweetheart?” The older woman asked sincerely.

“I’m good thanks.” The redhead smiled and received a hug from her girlfriend’s mom. “I was just coming to see what you guys were up to, sounds like you’re having fun.”

“Well I was just fighting with the decorations to get them up for tomorrow night and Anna’s kindly helping me, although I’ve come to realise she’s more of a hindrance than a help.” Willow’s mom glared at her friend playfully and walked across the kitchen to inspect her work.

The decoration read “Merry Jewish Christmas.” It hung a little wonky above an archway that separated the kitchen and the living room and a well placed piece of mistletoe hung just beneath it. Tinsel and glitter were strewn strategically around the room making it look very festive.

“So... um... is Tara coming over?” The redhead asked Anna hopefully.

“She was supposed to be coming here with me, but when I told her it was time to leave she waved her hand at me and carried on writing. A sure indication that she didn’t want to be disturbed. Maybe....” The older woman was interrupted by the doorbell and Mrs Rosenberg went to answer it, pulling a chair out ordering her daughter to sit before she left the room.

A few moments later the redheaded woman came back into the room rubbing her hands together trying to warm herself from the chill that had drifted in through the door. An equally cold Tara walked in after her, her cheeks and the tip of her nose were red from the wind hitting her delicate skin.

“Oh Tara I wish you’d buy a car and stop walking in this weather!” Mrs Maclay exclaimed at the sight of her daughter. She rushed over and quickly took the blonde’s coat from her, hanging it over the back of a chair.

Tara locked eyes with Willow and rolled her eyes playfully at her mother’s over-motherliness.

“I’m fine.” She sniffled then kissed the older woman on the cheek in greeting.

“So what do you think of these decorations?” Sheila chipped in, her head was in the refrigerator and when it popped back out she had a bottle of wine in her hand.

“They’re nice actually.” The blonde agreed as she stood back and admired them. “I like the red and gold colours they go well together.”

Willow sat in her chair as her mother, Her girlfriend and her girlfriend’s mother bantered playfully about how the decorations looked and what should go where. The redhead felt a sense of pride as she watched Tara charm her mother effortlessly and somehow knew she was ready to tell her mother about the relationship she was sharing with Tara, about the love she felt but couldn’t yet proclaim and how happy she was by simply being with her. At this moment Willow felt secure, loved, wanted and special.

The redhead frowned, she felt all that and yet Tara’s attention wasn’t even directed at her.

“....There’s another room to do yet!” Mrs Rosenberg’s voice penetrated Willow’s thoughts and the two older women went to inspect the living room leaving Tara to add a pin to a stray piece of tinsel.

The blonde finished what she was doing and went to her girlfriend then kneeled down before her so they were at eye level. Tara gently stroked the back of her hand over Willow’s soft cheek and smiled lovingly.

“You have pensive face.”

“I do not have pensive face.” The redhead pouted as she lifted her hand to take Tara’s and interlace their fingers.

The blonde raised her eyebrow and gently moved her hand to stroke the crease between her girlfriend’s eyebrows. “That always gives you away.”

“Uh, sorry girls.” Mrs Maclay interrupted “I just came to get the bottle of wine, you’re mother’s an insufferable alcoholic.” She smiled at Willow.

The redhead smiled back politely and let go of Tara’s hand, an action that didn’t go unnoticed by the either Tara or Anna.

“I’ll see you girls tomorrow.” Mrs Maclay nodded goodnight then picked up the wine bottle and went into the other room.

Tara turned to her girlfriend and reclaimed her hand, gently rubbing her thumb over Willow’s soft skin. “You look tired, C’mon.” She handed Willow her crutches and watched proudly as the redhead slowly, but surely made her way to her room, but as the door closed behind them the redhead turned to her girlfriend and eyed her suspiciously.

“What?” Tara questioned, not really sure what to make of the facial expression her girlfriend was currently sporting, she walked over to Willow’s side and gently guided her to sit on the bed.

“Your mother didn’t flinch, when she saw us all with the hand holding, she didn’t say a word.” The redhead’s expression had now turned to confused and she began to twist the drawstring of her pants with her fingers.

“Well my mom knows I’m gay, and she’s known about you and I for a little while too.” Tara explained softly, she wrapped a hand around Willow’s fidgeting digits and used her other to lift the redhead’s chin so their eyes connected. “Is that ok?”

“Well I... I.... well I guess so.” Willow thought for a moment “Did she mind, was she mad when you told her? That you liked girls I mean, was she mad?”

“Well,” Tara let go of Willow’s hand and instead concentrated on another task. She lifted the redhead’s arms in the air and pulled her shirt above her head. “She kind of already knew and had been hinting for a while before I actually told her. So she wasn’t mad or even surprised.”

The redhead nodded her understanding and bit her bottom lip. Tara swore she could see her girlfriend’s mind working. Reaching around the redhead’s back, Tara expertly unhooked her bra and the Willow held her arms forward as Tara pulled the straps down them, the material lightly tickled her skin and she shivered involuntarily.

“Sorry.” The blonde whispered giving her an apologetic smile.

“I... I think I’m going to tell my mom. I think I’m ready to tell her, but....but... I’m scared. She could hate me and I don’t want that, things have been so great between us lately we’ve gotten close. We’ve never been this close before and I’m worried that she’ll get mad at me or worse, mad at you... and if she got mad you then I’d get mad at her. It’d be this great big mad fest and that, well, that’s just not good....” Willow stopped to take a breath and lift her hips so Tara cloud remove her pants. In one continuous tug the blonde managed to removed them fully and neither woman seemed to pay attention to the fact that the redhead was naked. “I don’t want her to hate me Tara... I don’t want her to disapprove..”

“Shhh.” The blonde spoke softly bringing her hands up to cup Willow’s face, she placed a gentle kiss on her girlfriend’s lips. “You’re not alone in this Wil, it’s your decision and if you feel you’re ready to tell her then I’m right behind you, but ask yourself this, after everything that’s happened in the past couple of months do you think your mother would be angry at you for grasping happiness?”

The redhead sniffled and shook her head, a faint smile tugging at her lips.

“Your mom seems like a wonderful woman, she has to be to have such a wonderful daughter, so give her a chance Wil, maybe she’ll surprise you.”

The redhead studied Tara for a moment, her sparkling blue eyes captivating her gaze and the love that flowed from them soothed her.

“Even when I... even when I’m at my worst you always make me feel special, how do you do that?”

“Magic.” Tara laughed lightly and pulled her girlfriend into a hug.

To Be Continued....

That was a nice touch with the park and the revelation that both our girls were wondering about each other. I am curious how Willow's mother will react. She must have noticed how close they are. Should be interesting as well as the Jewish Christmas fiesta. :)

So pleased to find an update! I was just mentioning to folks in kitten chat that I was waiting for an update on this story.

Again, I am pleased and impressed with the characterizations found in this story. You've maintained a beautiful consistency and have allowed us a wonderful view into the minds of Willow and Tara.

And how pleasant is it to finally have a characterization of Willow's mother that doesn't leave my skin crawling. I can't even come up with the words.

The ease with which Tara comforts Willow is so beautiful. She never had to say the words...the love she has for Willow is obvious. So obvious, in fact, that I'm predicting telling Willow's mom won't be a problem. Of course, I could be wrong. It certainly wouldn't be the first time. But it is Tara's quiet strength and love that will maintain Willow in either case. And that is what is so wonderful.

I'm just in awe of this story. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.

Yes, I can vouch that GayNow was craving that this story be updated, and viola, here it is. Maybe she should have more cravings and we would get more updates? Ooh, and the next one has smoochies -- YAY!

I'm thinking Sheila will be cool with everything. Like Tara said it was with her mom, she probably already suspects and I think she'll be happy for them. We know this Sheila (much better version btw) wants Willow to be happy.

The mom interaction is so funny and I'm really loving it.

Their whole trip to the park was so sweet, from the touches to the words, was just beautiful.

So now you left us at such a sweet moment, but I can't help but notice you left me with a vision of a naked Willow dancing in my head. Thanks so much for that. Now I will definitely be off to have some sweet dreams.

Can't wait for more!

Sweet :heart I love how Tara's so supportive and considerate. Poor Willow though, going through all that turmoil - I guess for her saying "I love you" to Tara would be inseparable from coming out to her mother, and it's natural to worry. Especially seeing as, like she said, she's getting along so well with Sheila at last. Tara, knowing she had her family's support, had it easier there. Well, I don't know whether or not Sheila has cottoned on to just how close Willow and Tara have gotten - they're not exactly hiding, but then again people can be pretty oblivious :D But I'm thinking, and definitely hoping, that she'll take the news well. If she doesn't know already it'll be a shock, but I don't think she'll be able to deny to herself how happy Willow is.

Mrs Maclay continues to be among the coolest moms ever (I can't say the coolest, because a lot of people would want to object that their mom was the coolest, myself included).

Thanks for the update :bow

AWW that was adorable! I loved the scene with the girls in the park. It was kind of bringing the whole thing full circle almost. Very nice. And Willow thinking about her feelings for Tara was great as well. Can't wait for the next update!

Okay so I'm a big ol' jerk for not commenting more. I deserve much punishmentand flogging. My excuses aren't even worthy! See I'm a procrastinator. I'm like queen of the procrastinators. I have it down to an art with school work. So I read the story and I'm all oooh I can't think of a good comment and I'm tired I'll do it later. Except it became many days later which is unacceptable.

So very big sorry and :dumbo as a gift. A :kitty too, in case Dumbo flies away or something.

So the past few chapters have been much like previous ones in that they are absolutely wonderful, sweet, and adorable. The content is of course different because you know that's what stories do. I love the way you write the interactions between everyone. The park scene was absolutely perfect. I think the way you handled the thing with Willow not being able to say 'I love you" beautifully. And the mommies are great. I'm very glad Willow is going to tell her mom. I'm looking forward to Jewish Christmas as well, having done many of them, or Chrismanukkah depending on the dates of Hanukkah that year. And while I have no room to be greedy since I didnt comment, I would still like more soon.

I sort of skimmed over the comment and realised some of my language is a bit inane. So another apology for that :blush

Thank you for this fic. It is the first I read upon stumbling over here a few months ago. I know, I know, I am a late bloomer in the W/T department, but what can I say? This fic is what originally kept me coming back.:bow

Each update is like getting to watch a new part of a wonderfuk movie in my head. I can hear soundtrack and everything!!!

Again, thank you, Can't wait for more! :love

I have read all your stories but this is my favorite. This is quite the measured exploration of love and falling in love. In each update you give us just enough and you withhold just enough. It's beautiful in its simplicity and balance.

This was a really good update. I love Tara saying I love you and really feel ok that Willow hasn't yet. I have the feeling her mother will be fine when she finds out about their relationship because anyone can see how happy Willow is with Tara. Well done.

Disclaimer: I don't own these characters but the story is mine.

Summary: Tara admires Willow from a distance until an accident brings them closer together. Some angst, but obviously I wouldn’t do anything too awful to read.

Notes: Extreme lateness of the update due to girl trouble and a runaway muse!

p.s I will get around to the wonderful feedback when time permits. I apologise...

p.s.s It’s a little shorter because I wanted to do the party chapter in one long segment.

16 Preparations And Truth:

Willow Stirred as she woke slowly by a soft kiss, she knew who those lips belonged to as they lightly caressed her own, her eyes didn’t need to be open to know Tara was with her. Gently coaxing her to wake up.

Tara paused her kisses for a moment to asses how awake her girlfriend was, happy with her assessment that her girlfriend was conscious enough she ran her tongue along Willow’s top lip and smiled when the redhead opened her mouth, she didn’t hesitate deepening the kiss and sighed as their lips met more fully and their tongues grazed teasingly.

Willow could feel the heat emanating from her girlfriend’s body as they faced each other. Their breasts pressed together, stomachs touched and the redhead carefully lifted her injured leg to allow Tara to slip her naked thigh between hers. The blonde moved cautiously, aware of everywhere that could possibly hurt the smaller woman beside her. She lifted her hand and tangled her fingers in soft, red hair, slowing the tantalising kiss that was beginning to have an affect on her thought processing abilities.

“Morning.” Tara spoke softly, catching her breath her voice was horse in her throat and Willow wasn’t sure if it was because of their kisses or the time of day.

The redhead’s eyes opened for the first time and squinted lightly at the slither of daylight creeping in from a crack in the curtains. “You stopped kissing me to say morning?” She protested light heartedly, trying to ignore the close proximity of Tara’s thigh to her center and the blonde’s warm breath on her mouth as she spoke.

“Well it’s only polite.” Tara teased and received a partial ‘Willow pout’ which she gladly kissed away “Did you sleep well?”

“I always sleep well when you stay over.” The redhead admitted and resisted the urge to push her hips forward onto Tara’s leg, she sighed at the situation her frustration was creating and received a concerned look from her girlfriend. The sigh obviously not going unnoticed. “I woke up a little.... uh... I have issues.” She explained with a blush.

Tara raised a smug eyebrow and smirked, slowly pushing her thigh further between the redhead’s legs, she felt it lightly connect with Willow’s hot center and left it there, watching as the smaller woman closed her eyes and tried to steady her breathing.

“It’s nine-thirty Tara, a little early in the day to be teasing me. Don’t you think?”

The blonde shook her head and laughed lightly. “I think it’s exactly the right time of day to be teasing you, but who said I was teasing?”

“With you, what you do speaks volumes and that leg of yours is practically screaming tease!”

Willow wasn’t sure if she should be thankful for the material of her underwear that stopped the blonde’s soft thigh from fully connecting with her overheated center, or if she should curse it for being in the way. Her mind was telling her to push the material aside and grind forcefully against her smug girlfriend, but her sensibility told her that wasn’t how this should go. But if Tara wanted to tease, maybe she should play along.

The redhead pulled her hips back, extracting Tara’s thigh from between her legs and immediately missed the contact. The blonde was obviously amused as she watched her girlfriend get more comfortable. Tara’s curiosity was peaked as Willow gently took her hand, a plan clearly forming in her head.

“What are you doing?” The blonde questioned and received a smile that Tara knew to mean ‘I know something you don't and I’m So not telling.’

The room quietened as Willow built up the courage to carry out her plan, thinking it over she wasn’t sure it was a good idea after all, but when Tara raised her ‘smug’ eyebrow once more the redhead couldn’t resist.

Guiding Tara’s hand, Willow dipped it beneath the covers. Her hand held the blonde’s wrist gently as she came to the hem of her shirt, she guided Tara’s fingers around it and indicated she wanted it pulled up. The blonde obliged, her knuckles scraping along the skin of Willow’s hip as she did so, the warmth and softness making her want to lift the covers and look, but Willow’s hand gripped her wrist again and teasingly made sure the blonde’s fingertips grazed along the skin of her waist as she guided them to the elastic of her underwear.

Tara hesitated for a moment, but her hesitation was overridden by the redhead’s gentle push. Her fingers slid under the elastic and swept along smooth hot skin, she inhaled deeply as she began to feel wiry curls on the tips of her fingers and her mind began to cloud when Willow’s insistent guiding didn’t falter and drew her deeper.

Tara felt her girlfriend shift lightly, it took her fuzzy mind a moment to realise why, but as her fingers connected with Willow’s outer lips she knew the redhead had parted her legs.

Willow’s hand loosened it’s grip around the blonde’s wrist then let go altogether, Tara didn’t need any further instruction as she parted her girlfriend’s outer lips with her finger. Lightly connecting with the top of Willow’s clit she gently slid her finger back and forth increasing and decreasing the pressure. Her eyes stayed locked with Willow’s searching for reactions as she caressed her girlfriend.

The redhead began to lose herself in Tara’s skilful caresses, she almost forgot what she had intended to do, but as Tara touched her she wasn’t sure if she should stop or even if she could. Taking a steadying breath, Willow grasped her girlfriend’s wrist once again and gently nudged it forward, feeling her clit pulse as the contact was lost she purposefully ignored it. The redhead felt her girlfriends finger graze her opening and she gripped Tara’s wrist tighter, the urge to thrust almost overwhelming. Feeling she had done enough, Willow gently tugged the blonde’s wrist back and felt the elastic of her underwear snap into place. Tara’s wet fingers lightly grazed her stomach as Willow raised both their hands above the covers. A mischievous smile began to form on her lips.

Tara’s face no longer showed signs of smugness, her normally sparkling blue eyes were now a darker shade, her lips parted slightly, skin flushed and her breathing came in slow gasps. Willow was mesmerised by the sight of her aroused girlfriend, the mere vision igniting a fire within herself that she desperately wanted sedating and she vowed the time would come..... so would they.

The redhead still held Tara’s wrist, slipping her hand along the back of her girlfriend’s Willow could feel her own wetness coating the blonde’s fingers, she brought those fingers to hr lips and lightly kissed them, the wetness transferring itself onto her mouth and it didn’t take Tara long to seize the opportunity to taste her girlfriend. Dipping her head she caught Willow’s lips with her own, sliding her tongue deep into her mouth, tasting and savouring Willow.

**

“So I’m crowning you queen tease there’s no doubt about that!” Tara declared, her body still aching from its previously over-heated state. She had managed to gain at least some composure.

The redhead giggled her face almost the colour of her hair as she blushed at how forward she had been, how uncensored and free she had been with her sexual behaviour towards her girlfriend.

“Well.” Willow snorted “Serves you right.”

“Maybe.” Tara agreed wrapping her arms around her girlfriend. “So do you have any plans today other than to tease me into a puddle?”

Willow snuggled deeper into Tara’s warm body and relaxed into morning snuggles, ignoring the ‘puddle’ remark. “Well I...I was actually planning to have a talk with my mom y’know about you and I. I just think the sooner I do it the better I’ll feel, It’s like I’m hiding something that shouldn’t be hid and it’s not fair on either of us.”

Tara understood and kissed the top of Willow’s head reassuringly. “Do you want me to stick around?” She asked in concern, wanting the redhead to know that she had support if she needed it and wasn’t on her own.

“No I should be ok, but you’re coming to the party right? I think I’ll need you to be there.”

“How come?”

“Well I can’t sneak away to go make out with myself, it’s just not the same.”

Tara laughed at her girlfriend’s playfulness and leaned down to kiss her softly, she sighed into the kiss as her body melted into Willow’s. Their curves fit like pieces of a puzzle and she didn’t want to move from this spot.

“We should get up.” The redhead noted, her lips brushing against Tara’s as she spoke, but her words lacked conviction.

“No we shouldn’t.” The blonde held tighter. “We should stay right here.”

“But... but.. I need to pee.”

“Ok, we should get up.” The blonde agreed with a chuckle.

**

Willow walked Tara as far down the hall as she could go before getting too tired. Both women had managed to get washed and dressed eventually, although it took them an hour and 20 minutes, both insisting ‘make out’ breaks were necessary in the getting dressed process.

Tara didn’t want to leave, but she knew her girlfriend needed time alone with her mother before the party started in a few hours. Kissing the redhead one last time she stepped out the front door and immediately wanted to go back in again.

The redhead watched as Tara walked down the driveway and sighed at the challenge ahead of her, the next time she saw her girlfriend their relationship would be out in the open, to her own parents anyway.

Mrs Rosenberg was sitting at the kitchen table when Willow entered the room, her hands cupped a cup of coffee as she invited the warmth of the liquid to sooth her. The older woman immediately stood and pulled out a chair when she saw her daughter walking or rather hobbling towards her.

“Ok I’m going now Sheila.” Mrs Maclay stated as she walked into the kitchen trying unsuccessfully to put her arm in her sleeve before getting frustrated and taking her coat off to start over again. “Oh good morning Willow has Tara already gone?”

“Yeah She left a couple of minutes ago she didn’t know you were here, but if you hurry you might catch her.” The redhead smiled and carefully sat herself in the offered chair.

“Ok, I’ll see you later sweetheart. Sheila I’ll pick up that extra wine for you on my way over so you can finish up here.” Her voice travelled down the hall as she walked quickly from the kitchen to the front door.

Mrs Rosenberg waved her hand at her friend even though she couldn’t see and stood to grab Willow a mug then proceeded to pour her some coffee as they listened to the howl of the wind blow in through the front door when it opened and closed.

“Did you sleep well Willow?” The older woman enquired, a yawn escaping her mouth and she quickly covered it with the back of her hand.

“I did actually.” Willow smiled and thought of the way she had fallen asleep with Tara’s arms wrapped tightly around her, but her smile stayed nervously on her face as she remembered what she had come in here to do. “I.... I wanted to talk to you about something, it’s nothing really depending on how you look at it, I mean to me it’s everything, but it’s not a big deal, it’s a tiny deal... very very tiny...”

“Willow, honey you’re babbling.”

“...Right, of course I am.” The redhead sighed in frustration, she had predicted this conversation would lead to a major babble-fest unless she kept herself calm. Willow studied her mom for a moment, the older woman stirred her coffee lightly with a spoon and looked into the liquid sleepily, her red hair hung loosely around her face with strands going awry in places and her white robe, the redhead noticed with amusement, was on inside out.

Willow smiled at the bedraggled sight of her mother and realised that today Sheila was not businesswoman Rosenberg who never came home before eight PM or spent more time in a hotel than her own home. Today Sheila was Mommy Rosenberg The woman who used to put make up on her daughter whilst she was putting make up on herself and getting ready to go out. The woman who used to brush her daughter’s hair a hundred times after a bath so it would grow faster. This woman had been lost to Willow for a long time and she didn’t know why, but suddenly here she was in all her bedraggled glory.

“I missed you mom.” Willow voiced something she had wanted to say for so long, but hadn’t realised it needed to be said. “I missed this, us, mother and daughter. I don’t know what happened or why we grew so far apart but I know I never wanted it that way.”

Sheila sat stunned for a moment then her face softened and she took her daughters hand. “I know exactly what you mean.”

Willow smiled and took a deep breath praying her mother would understand what she was about to say. “I think There’s something you should know.... a-about me I mean, and about Tara... I don’t want this to affect my relationship with you mom, I don’t want you to hate me or think of me differently.” The redhead’s eyes began to well up and she internally pinched herself for losing her control.

“Willow? Sweetie what is it?”

The redhead took another deep breathe to try and calm herself but succeeded in making herself feel dizzy. “uh...Tara and I... we’re not friends. Well we are friends but there’s more to it than that.”

Mrs Rosenberg straightened in her seat as she realised what her daughter was trying to tell her, but it was something she already knew and she had inadvertently picked up on the subtle changes in her daughter as the months went passed.

“Oh... oh Willow I know you and Tara care for each other, well I didn’t know exactly, but I had an idea.”

“You did?” Willow stared at her mother in surprise and wiped away the escaping tears from her eyes.

“I know you think I’m an oblivious old fool, but even someone with impaired vision could see how much you’ve changed, how much happier you are since you met Tara.”

“It’s that obvious?” The redhead blushed slightly “Do you hate me?”

The older woman seemed to pause for a moment then took a hard look at her daughter, a small smile tugged at the edge of her lips and she shook her head lightly. “Willow, why on earth would I hate you? Tara seems like a wonderful girl and I’ve never seen you so happy. Even when you were with that dreaded Osborne boy you weren't shining quite so brightly. I’m glad you met someone who really knows your worth despite the fact that she’s a she and she isn’t Jewish.”

The redhead smiled a little at the twinkle in her mother’s eye that indicated she was teasing. “I was scared you wouldn’t approve.” Willow’s voice was small, her eyes sparkled with moisture. “I was scared that I'd lose the progress you and I have made since my accident, that we’d go back to not talking and not knowing each other, that I’d be on my own again.”

Mrs Rosenberg began to well up at her daughter’s words and she scooted closer wrapping a comforting arm around Willow’s delicate frame. “Sweetheart I’ve always wanted to be there for you I just didn’t think you needed me, I guess even the smartest of girls need their mother, but don’t worry I made that mistake once it won’t happen again....” The redhead rested her head on her mother’s shoulder and listened as the older woman talked. “When I got that call from Tara I was so scared I thought I’d lost you. Even though Tara tried her best to reassure me you know what I’m like, I can make a mountain out of a molehill. But I didn’t stop crying until I saw you were ok for myself. Your farther had to tell the flight attendants that it was PMS.”

The redhead chuckled as the mental image popped into her head of the flight attendants terrified faces. “That’s good to know... I mean it’s not good that you were crying, but it’s good to know you cared enough to get emotional...”

“I know what you mean.” The older woman nodded “Don’t doubt my love for you Willow I may not show have shown it the way I should have, but it’s there.”

“Thank you mom.” The redhead sniffled and wiped her eyes with her sleeve then took a cautious sip of her hot coffee, not quite sure what to say next. She had been prepared to defend her relationship with Tara until she was blue in the face, but she hadn’t prepared to just sail through her confession. Looking up at the clock it ticked at half eleven she had allocated at least an hour of time for this conversation on her day planner, but it had only taken up twenty minutes.

Mrs Rosenberg watched Willow fidget and lovingly shook her head. She was proud of her daughter and glad she was happy.

“So did you try your dress on for tonight? Does it fit nicely?”

“Oh, uh... yeah, but it needs taking up a little. I don’t want the hem to trail as I’m hobbling around with my very attractive crutches.” Willow said sarcastically.

“It’s not that bad.” Mrs Rosenberg tried to sound reassuring as she helped the redhead up from the chair.

“Oh please.” Willow snorted. “You try feeling attractive whilst carrying two sticks.”

“I think I’ll pass sweetie, but thanks for the offer.” Mrs Rosenberg laughed and guided her daughter towards her room so they could sort out their dresses.

To Be Continued....
