Oh! Willow asked Tara out (kinda). Go Will! :D I look forward to reading about it.

That is quite possibly the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. I wish she had skipped work for the hug... But then it would be more of the :happycry from me. Such a cry-baby I am.

Oh, and the first part of the dream? WOW! But I must agree with Willow, I liked the second half better. What can I say, I'm a sucker for romance.

Well, I can say it is starting to look up for non-dreamland smoochies. Please say it will happen soon! You have written these characters and their story so well. When they do get together, I think I might drown. :happycry

It took me six tries over three days to be able to sit down and read the dinner update in one go, but on the bright side I got to go right on to the next update then! A friend of mine was reading different parts of something I wrote once and after one particular section she said to me, "You know, I like what you've given me so far and I see how all these different parts fit together, but after this last bit I'm just craving more of the story now." I never understood really what she meant till I read the dinner chapter. Now I know what it means to truly crave more of a story. Don't misunderstand, there hasn't been a chapter that has been... hmmmmm... off, I guess. I've enjoyed everything so far, but this just left me achy inside. A good ache! :lol It's right there, isn't it? Really now. It's right there below the surface of both of them, just brimming. It's thick and rich and warm and I swear I can almost feel it. Willow's work - I didn't think that was maudlin at all. In fact, I found it rather clever and entirely Willow. Here I was thinking she was doing some human cloning or something!:lol
Quote:
Why do you always do that?
I love how you just let that question sit out on a line by itself, no tag lines or anything. I really makes me stop and read each word and feel the silence around the question. Hmmm, and Tara's studio. First: The Bad Plus!!!!!!:applause You made my whole friggin' weekend with that! Then there were the finished paintings themselves. I have to admit, I was shocked to see that "The Red Willow" was there. (Actually, as I sit here I've thought of another title for it: A Streak of Willow. But that's just my inner perv chattering at 1:45am.:banana Ignore her.:glasses ) Tara's emotions were in such turmoil when she put that slash of red across that canvas... I'm not really sure what I thought she would've done with it though. I guess it just fell from my memory. I'm intrigued by its appearance.

As for the latest update. Well, totally :thud worthy. I also have to admit I thought it might be just a little bit of filler.:blush Boy, wasn't I pleasantly surprised! That empty feeling? That need for simple touch? Willow is SO ready to come out! Look forward to more!

Hey you:)

Well...unlike the first or second time...I knew it was dream;) Although I did think "Holy shit....it's a dream right??? Then why there are snuggles afterwords.... usually those kinda dreams end BEFORE the good part... not only she....ahm...*blushes came, she also got SNUGGLES!!!!!!!!!!" :lol :lol :lol Even thought of eliminating "E" from "EH" ;) For now;) That was great:grin and Willow fixating on snuggles was so cute :) Can't wait for more W/T time.....in RL...not dreamland :P

And what do you mean the moving out question is still out there?!?!?!?!? That's just wrong!!!!! [*imagine Faith in front of the mirror in Buffy's body saying "That's wrong" ;) ] *sighs.....

Can't wait to read about the park!!!!!!!! And I wonder if everything was great, what went wrong afterwords? :confused ...

Hope there will be update again...very very very soon:P Like before the end of the weekend:grin ...

WOW !! Can I say that was an excellent way to start my day reading. WHAT A DREAM !!!! :thud :thud

That haunting feeling of Tara's arms around her could be Willow's subconscious taking over. It's telling her that its time to get a move on with this. :banana

Awwwwe. That was soooo sweet. She got Tara breakfast. :luv I never saw that coming. And the dinner. That almost sounded like Willow asked her out on a date.:applause

I did catch the part when she left her bag behind. Now could that be another little trick her subconcious is pulling. Maybe Tara will have to bring it over to Willow. You never know it might be important. ;)

Wow...Just wow...This fic is simply astounding

:bow :bow :bow :bow :bow :bow :bow :bow :bow :bow :bow

I just love every second... every word! Im always on the edge of my seat wondering what is going to happen next. I love that Willow can't help flirting with Tara... the continuous misconceptions causing them both to stress out about the other... Willows babbeling... Taras inner conflict... Willow doing little things like buying tara the blueberry bagel!!.. Its all simply brilliant. I can not even imagine how fantastic the resolution of this all is going to be. I wonder how and when Willow will come out to her mom and buffy.. and finally Tara... I hope soon? (:pray :pray ) The angst is so cruel.. yet I love it :rofl

This line made my heart melt!

Quote:
but more than anything, Willow knew she wanted to hold Tara close, fully clothed in a turtleneck even, and tell her she thought she was beautiful.

Loved it. Yep i totally did. Like always. I mean of course. With that start of a dream and especially the following little conversation they had? It was so sweet and just awww worthy. And this was the biggest tearjerker for me:

Quote:
Her heart ached and she fought the foolish urge to skip work, wait for Tara to wake and ask the blonde for a hug.

:sob

And i just love how thoughtful Willow is, getting Tara a bagle and stuff. Very cute. Can't wait for the dinner.

Awesome update!

Needed: Tara Hugs

Postby Kajun » Sat Oct 16, 2004 3:24 pm

Quote:
"If you ever need, more, from me, just tell me..."

Does this also hold true if, say.. I told YOU (I) needed more? Consider it said! Would it be too much to ask for a few accidental touches/smoochies now and then? A Dream Willow for Tara would be nice too. Willow isn’t the only one that needs to work through a few things. I mean.. Tara hasn’t even considered the possibility that Willow might be bi-sexual? Geez.. Tara’s really gonna be stunned when she finds out Willow is totally gay now. The bracelet and cookbook gifts, the special effort to view Tara’s paintings, remembering the things Tara likes, writing little notes, Willow in moonlight, protecting her.. Come Onnnnnnn. What does it take for the blonde to figure out Willow loves her? I hope, while Willow continues to open up, Tara doesn’t start pulling away. But.. Asking Willow to move out could be a catalyst for surprising revelations leading, finally, to what Willow wants most of all.. Dream Tara turned Real Tara. And it’s not just sex either. I can make Willow a big sign if it would help, *Wanted: Tara Hugs!* Beautiful.. Whew.. Thanks!

Oh my... I love this fic, you have the sex, fantastic sex but you also have the angst!!! The perfect fic!!!... Yeah I know I have already say that but, well... But I want to make a point, a very important so I'm repeating myself... sorry...

So... where was I?... Oh yes, perfect fic ever...

I also love how you reveal us what happened 3 years ago in the park little by little... So much mystery... hihihi...

It's like the The Thousand Nights and a Night...

Another topic... If Willow tells to Buffy that she's gay, Buffy will immediately tell Tara and then Tara will think that Willow doesn't like her so... more angst...

Willow knows that Tara doesn't date straight girls so she believes that perhaps she is a chance but Tara no... she's convinced that Willow is straight end of story... Willow has a great advantage on her, she has an objective, an strategy, Tara no... She follow Willow, she tries to understand Willow and her actions... To know that Willow is gay will be very hard for her... Bah... I think...

Sorry if I'm not very clear... the language... and the fact that I'm not a very clear person, in english, in spanish, in french, any language...

In conclusion, nice dream!!!...

ooohhh what did Tara tell to Buffy???...

still love you...

Whew, I'm finally caught up. Just to give you some perspective on how much I enjoy this story, I've had only one day off in the last 18 days (I'm dealing with the hotel labor strike in SF) and I spent it reading your wonderful tale.

Thank goodness I didn't have to wait through the angsty parts to get to all the goodness we have now. I'm so happy to see Willow opening herself up more to Tara. What a delightful surprise to find Willow's reluctance to talk about her job was all about her protecting Tara's feeling. Simply wonderful! I loved how you wrote Tara's reaction as she realizes that Willow has been doing that for her. And more hints about Golden Gate Park. I really am looking forward to reading that scene.

More goodness with Willow's dream. It was awesome for both us and I'm sure for Willow that we finally got to the release moment. Your scene was so sensual and beautiful. Having written several love scenes for this board, I know how difficult they are to actually write. You take your time and bring out their utter passion so intensely. Great writing. And how brilliant that you didn't stop there. Willow is able to push past the first sounds of her alarm to get to the part she most desires - their intimate embracing after their lovemaking. Just beautiful.

Anxiously awaiting my next day off to read even more!

Cool dream, i wish i had dreams like that! Your writing rocks! I love it. I thought it was great how you added Willow's alarm clock into her dream, that always happens to me. Also i loved how when Willow was getting changed in the morning she went to her computer to see what the weather was like and what to wear instead of just looking out the window! That's just Willow though, it's second nature to her to constantly use her computer for everything. I liked how you added that in. Great update, they're having dinner again, can't wait!

Oh you don't know how happy you made me by making this part not *just* a sex dream this time, although those stand wonderfully on their own :blush , but you also showed Willow's need for Tara's affection and just... sigh... love.

Oh and I could also totally relate to this line:

Quote:
Faintly feeling the echo of Tara's arms around her made her feel... lonely. Kinda sad.

Doesn't it just suck when you wake from an incredible dream to find that it wasn't real? God, I hate it when that happens... Though I wouldn't mind having the kind of dreams Willow's having... :laugh

Re: New Fic - Neverland

Postby Artemis » Sun Oct 17, 2004 7:54 pm

No secret that it was a dream, but what a dream it was! And I think there's a lot more to it than 'just' a dream. We've seen before how Willow's dreams suggest things to her, when she had that dream of her making the first move - which as I said, I took to mean that somewhere in her brain she was, for the first time, contemplating the possibility that she could make a move, without ruining everything.

In this case... before I start, I really have to acknowledge the incredible hotness that was That Dream. To do so I have scoured the web for the appropriate smiley for hot Willow/Tara lovin' action, and here it is: I know it looks like one of the smileys is twice the size of the other one, but let's just say it's a trick of perspective, 'kay? (And no, I have no idea whether, originally, they were both intended to be girl smileys, but they are now - I claim this smiley in the name of lesbian lovin'! And Spain, just cuz, you know, you have to claim stuff in the name of Spain, it's how this sort of thing is done.)

That was hot! And while I have other reasons (see below) for explaining why Willow actually dreamed through to the end of it, I do think in part it was a survival mechanism - if she'd woken up from that dream pre-climax, I think she'd have exploded from frustration and left a crater where her bedroom used to be.

And after all the hot and steamy action, when they were lying there together, that was so sweet I thought I was going to melt. Luckily I've got a hardwood floor here, not carpet, so it would've been no big deal to mop myself up and put myself in the freezer 'til I was solid again, so feel free to indulge in much more Willow/Tara sweetness :luv2

But on to the more analytical side of things, I think her finishing her dream was in part to do with her subconsciously getting her hopes up - the part of her that believes she and Tara will never be together isn't so easily intruding on her and jolting her out of her very pleasant fantasy. I did wonder in passing if it was to do with her letting Tara in on her Big Secret about her work - if she was in some way before feeling that she didn't deserve to have Tara, if she was hiding herself from her. But that's kind of specific, so maybe it's just more general. Or maybe I'm just talking crap, you never know :)

The mention of Willow committing the dream to memory and thinking about it prompted me to go over it again, with more of an eye for detail (I used special filtering glasses to keep from getting so caught up in the lovely smut that I couldn't think). Some of the lines in it - I'm paraphrasing, so forgive me if I get the words wrong: Tara saying "Is this enough?" Willow saying it is, then discovering that there's more, Tara saying "If you want more, just tell me" - this all seems very relevant to the situation at hand. Willow and Tara are moving towards becoming friends, and that's a good thing, but perhaps Willow's brain is trying to remind her that it's not all that she wants. Perhaps worried that, if they seem to be okay as friends, she'll start worrying that moving further might jeopardise that? And in Tara's words, perhaps she's reminding herself that she should feel free to take the initiative. Maybe even it's a response to her 'pre-emptive goodwill', trying to ensure everything's perfect before a problem even arises. She assumed Tara would be upset by knowing about her work, so didn't bring it up in the first place, because she figured that was best. Is her dream telling her that it's okay to take a risk, rather than stick with what she knows to be safe? To admit that she 'wants more', rather than just accepting what she's got already? Maybe. Maybe not, what do I know? :)

Poor Tara, still with her thoughts going in two directions at once. That note Willow left was very sweet, a vast improvement on her 'away on business' note - as you said, you could just hear the cute babble coming out of the page. But she still didn't sign it 'Love, Willow', just 'Willow'. Maybe now that things are going well she's more content to take her time, and not push things - before she may have been more desperate, given that the situation was so bleak. I just hope she doesn't take her time too much, to the extent of not moving forward.

A bajillion chapters of Willow and Tara building their friendship? :bounce I'm going to have to upgrade the file naming system I use on Looking-glass, at present it only allows for 999 chapters in a single story. How many zeroes are there in a bajillion, anyway? I shouldn't get too excited, no doubt you've got plenty of missteps and angst planned along the way - but I'll be excited anyway :) After all, if the chapters so far have proved anything, it's that angst can be good.

Regarding earlier, I didn't mean to suggest than Xander and Willow weren't 'there for' Buffy when her mom died - but I think even that kind of devoted friendship suffers in a way when there's things causing distance between friends. Buffy will certainly have a lot to deal with, but hopefully she'll find that she can forgive Willow (and Xander, though to a lesser extent - he was keeping a confidence), and they'll all be happier in the end.

As always, looking forward to more :)

Chris Cook
