Insanity – Oh Sorry about that. I generally copy and paste the comments into a word file then write responses at work then come home and post them so I missed your edit. Of course you were sad. We’d all like to see more Willow/Tara time on the island and of course see a chance for Willow to win the money.

Now we're in the final four and all alliances are done, right?
That is generally the way things go. Once in the final four it’s accepted that it’s “every man for himself.” And yes, Tara & Willow would have time at the jury resort which would definitely be a payoff.

I agree that Faith was being sweet. She is perhaps one of the only people on the island who actually gets Tara & Willow (for the most part).

“Lands End doesn’t sell thongs,” Faith tells the redhead as she tosses a package to Robin.
Actually I’m not sure that Lands End even sells underwear but I couldn’t have the company be Sears or something so white bread as that and Lands End is the benchmark for customer service/orders etc. And yes, hence the birthday present.

Sorry about the week. Enjoy it. Maybe some other writers could give us something to read in the meantime (Debra’s wishlist: Legend Green Eye Red, RI, Neverland, KAR. That’s all I can think of but I’m sure there are some I’m missing).

AnirtakEnigma – Well you’re definitely looking at the wrong person for any cash. Lol. Anyway, Yeah I guess Tara was all “must be true to my pact.” Respectable though? Glad you were on the edge.

Are there still immunity challeges with four to go?
Yes, yes, yes!!!!! Definitely and they are very very important—particularly the last one.

Good point about Robin. His winning immunity would really set the girls against each other. They would have to come to some sort of decision or lack thereof as far as who was leaving. If I were left and Robin got immunity, I’d want Tara gone because she’s too darn nice. That or Faith because she’s too darn strong. Kendra would definitely have the dark horse advantage in that one. Lol. Glad you like.

Watson – I can understand that about the BB theme being already noted by Chris and I guess the custom IM update notice is a good excuse for not noticing the tomatoes reference. Gee, nice to have Car around to send you IMs for updates. I think that’s snerk.

Been thinking about votes at F2.
Boy have you. I agree that Robin’s strongest case would be against Kendra but I think he would have a shot against anyone if he went with the “these women were aligned. I was an outsider and kept myself useful enough to not be voted off and won challenges when I needed” type tack.

I would see Kendra as having a chance against either Robin or Faith. Against Robin she could bring out the “member of a powerful alliance” and took it in the end type thing. I also thinks she’s much more eloquent than she’s been showing.

I’d say both Robin & Kendra’s strongest chance against Tara would be a “sure she’s nice but can she play the game?” type attack. They could make the jurors feel that they are rewarding the wrong thing by voting for such a “weak” player because she’s nice.

I’d agree that Faith has the best odds against both Robin & Kendra although Robin could pull the same argument with her as with Kendra. I’d say a F/K F2 should be the most lopsided vote we’d get.

"good guess" .
Gee, how’d you know?

Carleen – You went to school here? Really? I didn’t realize. Actually I don’t know what you’re a prof in either (I did get that you are a prof right though?). I have two degrees from Texas Tech (6 years there) and 1 from UT so I’ve made the rounds Texas myself. I lived in an unAC dorm at Tech for the first 2 years but we had big windows and the second year had ceiling fans. Like you, I hung out at the library or union a lot.

Lol about the adrenaline.

They say jump and I say, "How high and how often, Mistresses?"
To each her own but I’m not sure that the three of y’all understand the purpose of the “traditional” Mistress/slave relationship.

Tonto – You’re right about the up and down sides: down=no more snuggles, up = more “real.”

Since their will be a Sunday Finale, does that mean we're going to get the first hour of the 2-hour special on Sunday instead of Wednesday. Its only fair since we're not getting the 2-hour Finale in one post.
Good try. Unfortunately I’m getting to the point where the speed of my writing has slowed enough that I don’t have as many updates stored up as I would like. If I post them very quickly, there would be a very long wait as I got the last ones written. If I maintain this posting schedule, I think I can finish writing quickly enough that there won’t be any huge waits at the end. Make sense?

Lol: showers!

You went to school here? Really?

Yep, really. Two degrees from TCU (Go Horned Frogs!). Then I got silly and headed to the Midwest -- another degree from BGSU in Ohio and currently ABD from SIU-Carbondale (Illinois). I have been teaching at the university level in some way shape or form pretty much since 1990. Right now, I am doing corporate work in Chicago. Yes, I hate it. Looking for the next teaching job...or a way to become instantly rich and never have to work another day in my life. ;)

I, too, figured Will was probably going home this update, but that was still so sad. I'm just happy that Willow took defeat quite gracefully. I can understand her not wanting to leave, both for the game and for Tara, but I'm glad there didn't seem to be any hard feelings on any side.

I really liked the fashion show after Faith got her clothes. Very funny. Especially Willow's “Fashion show, not fashion explanation," comment.

Can't wait for more.

No problem. I know it wasn't on purpose.

“Lands End doesn’t sell thongs,” Faith tells the redhead as she tosses a package to Robin.

I don't even know Lands End. And Sears, too for that matter. But your explanation sounds good. *g*

Yes, that would be great. Or maybe Emms could update a little *fg* But either way.. I'll make it through the week... I think .... *g*

Carleen – TCU? Interesting choice. I couldn’t imagine living here and then moving someplace cold. I had a friend who had her undergrad from SIU-Carbondale. I’m officially ABD on my Ph.D. but since I’ll never get one, that pretty much means I worked on it a lot before quitting. I’m sure you’ll find another teaching gig.

the hero factor - Yeah, pretty sad. We’ll see how she takes it next. Glad you liked the fashion show. Thanks.

Insanity – Cool (no problem). Here’s Lands End and Sears. Sears is a much bigger company but I like Lands End much better.

Ooo yeah, I knew I was forgetting something. Emms would be great for sure.

I enjoy that you sound like you don't even know what the outcome is going to be...I was cracking up. My girlfriend and I are obsessed and get into such conversations about who we think is going to last...I had totally forgotten about the immunity challenges...you could just screw everything up with that....interesting.

Well, I just got back from Pride and my feet are SORE...too bad no update today...sad. Hmm, guess I'll have to keep checking...I'm hooked and I just can't help myself!!!

:bigwave Firstly, sorry I've been naughty with the lack of fb lately, RL has been hectic. Secondly, I know I've said it before (and I'm not the only one!) but how cute is Ariel!? The W/T/A relationship is really sweet. I love it! Thirdly, :shock at Willow being voted out. I hope Tara wins but I'm still not guessing! And lastly, hope for more soon! Hannah.

JustSkipIt - I think that it is a very good thing to be able to surprise your readers with a twist that is logical but they might not have been expecting. There are many things about the fics on Pens that are predetermined - Willow and Tara always end up together and happy, so it's good to be surprised along the way about how it happens.

And in reading some of the other comments from kittens and you, I agree that it would have been TOO perfect if they had ended up in the final four together. And now Willow gets to vote for Tara when she's on the jury (I'm totally assuming that Tara makes it to the final two) - and maybe do some lobbying among the rest of the jury members too.

Now the real question is who will end up being the last two standing - obviously I think Tara will be one of them. And I'm going out on a limb here and I'm going to guess Faith for the other. I think that Robin is going to get voted off and that Faith will win immunity in the next challenge, and that the final challenge will be physical and Faith will win that too vs. Kendra. So Tara and Faith.

That was such an emotional update. I thought at first with the puzzle challenge that Willow was going to win immunity because of her past sucess with those type of challenges. I feel bad for Tara having to make the choice she did but she made alliances and strategy wise she had to stick to them. I was glad Willow and Tara got to spend some time together before the vote. Faith and the fashion show, too funny! :-D
Looking forward to the 2 hour season special.

Well Willow getting voted off this time was not very surprising but it was rather sad. This means no more cute Willow interaction on the island anymore. I kind of figured that Tara would vote with her original alliance since she always seemed like someone who didn't like to go against her word. Now we just have to wait and see whether that will help or hurt her game wise. I have a feeling that this next update with Ariel's reaction to this is going to be a tough one. I don't see her being to happy with Willow getting voted off.

I do have a question though. I read the FAQs and read that you are going to post the two hour special in two different parts and then I assume you will post the reunion special after that. When I was watching Palu I noticed that the winner was technically announced during the reunion special and not during the two hour show. My question for you is: are you going to tell us the winner during the show or are you going to make us wait another week for the reunion special? I am just wondering since I tend to be a rather impatient person sometimes.

This was another exceptional update from you and I can't wait for another. :bounce

Dear Debra,

I've taken the past few months off from the Kitten Board in order to attend to life in the RW. (I admit it; I've got a bit of an addictive personality. Thank goodness my drug of choice is reading...) I finally decided to pop back in and I saw you were writing this fic. Now, I'm not a reality-TV fan but I am a JustSkipIt fan, so I plunged in. And after the first two updates I thought "eh, this is okay." And then I got to the first post-show update and I was hooked!

So, long story short, I stayed up much of the night reading the entire thing, missing out on hours of precious sleep. Regretted it only slightly the next morning when the toddler informed me it was "Wake up time, mommy!"

This is really another lovely and fun piece of writing. Bravo! :clap I look forward to reading the rest.

A note about Asher – I just have to share this. Asher is very interested in letters. I might say obsessed. He has about 8 different sets of letters and it is his favorite activity to play with them or tell you the letters on signs, etc. or get you to draw letters for him. He knows all his letters and is working on learning the numbers. Today, he apparently decided to teach the letters to the dog (the dumb one, not the Border collie). Rachel said he would pick up a letter, carry it over to Lucy, show it to her, read it, lay down on her, and keep saying the letter. Then get another one. Maybe when he gets her trained, we can take her on David Letterman…

AnirtakEnigma – We must have similar senses of humor then. I find it very funny when I’m writing about who might do what since I’ve known for months. You are right. I’m glad y’all are finding the story so fun. Yay for going to Pride. We didn’t go this year because the baby’s nap was at the wrong time and then we had plans in the later afternoon. Sorry for sore. I generally update on Wednesday sometime.

willlovestara – Don’t worry about the lack of fb. I totally understand about RL. Mine is cranked up about 14 notches lately. Glad you like Ariel. Thanks so much for everything. (and good guesses :evil).

Always410 – See the FAQ about the 2 hour update. Actually it will be 3 separate updates. Hope your exam went well. Look for an update Wednesday.

SallyMcFine – Yes, exactly about the perfect life. Everything doesn’t always run smoothly with puppies and million dollar checks. I think that you can assume that if Tara makes the F2, Willow would vote for her. Good guesses. Thanks.

irishgrl3 – Yeah, I totally get how it was emotional. I agree that it was a hard choice for Tara to make but I think that everyone respected that. Thanks.

blue eyed girl
This means no more cute Willow interaction on the island anymore.
I agree. Probably the saddest thing about it. Ok, that and Tara having to vote off her gf. Good thoughts on Ariel.

I’m not sure you’re in the right place if you tend toward impatience. I’m going to post the reading of the votes in the 3rd update (the reunion special). Sorry but I think it will work better that way. Thanks.

simplyblue – Welcome back. :wave Yeah, sometimes that RW calls. Mine is calling louder and louder these days. Glad you liked what you read and sorry for the missed sleep. Thanks so much.

Title – Survivor – Ash Island

Part 29 – Week 11

Author – JustSkipIt

Pairing – Here’s the story, of a girl named Willow. She was living with three computers of her own. They were bored and living all together. But they were all alone. Till this one Island when this playgirl met this mama. And she knew that it was much more than a hunch. That these girls would someday form a family. And that’s why it’s called … W/T of course.

Feedback – Oh yes.

Spoilers–None

Rating – NC-17. What NC-17? Don’t you know if you keep posting smut the kittens will expect more than NC-17 part per story…

Disclaimer – I own none of these characters nor do I own Survivor. And believe it or not, I also don’t own any small islands. On the other hand, this island is fictional so let’s say I own it. I’m making no money from this fiction and intend no copyright infringement.

Note – Willow’s Early Show appearance will be updated separately (as in another day).

“Well, they edited the crap out of that one didn’t they?”

Tara laughed. “You hadn’t noticed the abundant cuts in any of the first 10 episodes, sweetie?”

“Well, yeah. Bbut they didn’t even show most of the conversations. I mean I spoke to Kendra about Faith. Hell, I tried to get Faith to vote off Kendra.”

“Next week on Willow’s desperate pleas…,” Tara teased. “And they didn’t show Faith or Kendra coming to confirm my vote or Robin asking me straight out. By the way,I’m sorry for voting against you.”

Willow smiled and kissed her girlfriend. “No you’re not.But I’m proud of you anyway because you did what you said you were going to do.” She looked thoughtful for a moment. “Although… do you regret not voting off Faith now? I mean if you knew then what you know now, would you have voted Faith off?”

Tara thought about it for a second before smiling. “I still wouldn’t have changed a thing.” She took a breath and said, “I need to call Kent and Ariel but then we can go have dinner, ok, Sweetie?”

“Sure. I think you owe me a meal.” Willow got up and went over to her suitcase to look for her sweater as Tara dialed her cell phone.

Tara thought about Willow’s comment. “I thought CBS was paying for our weekend?”

Just then Kent answered the telephone. “Congratulations! You’re in the final four. You big trickster. I thought you called me because you needed to be in New York for your vote off. How’s Willow?”

“She’s fine,” Tara said, “she knew what was coming. So I take it you’ll be here for the show on Sunday?”

“My girlfriend and my best friend are both in the final four? You couldn’t keep me away.” Tara could hear the smile in her friend’s voice.

“CBS will call you with the ticket information for you, Ariel, and mom, ok?” Tara wasn’t concerned about the logistics and knew they could discuss it Friday or Saturday. Again she thanked the Goddess that Kent was so flexible. When she had called him at 2:30 and asked him to pick up Ariel from her mother’s house, he had said he was really sorry and of course he would get his daughter early. Of course he had thought that he was picking up Ariel because Tara was voted off, not that she went to New York with Willow.

“Can I talk to Ariel?”

“Sure,” Kent answered. “Ariel, your mommy is on the phone.”

“Hi, baby girl.”

“Hi.”

“Are you ok?” Tara asked.

“Is Willow with you?” Ariel said, not responding to Tara’s question.

“Um, yes,” Tara said as she handed the phone to the redhead.

Willow quirked her eyebrows at the blonde as she took the phone. “Hello?” she said.

“Hi, Willow,” Ariel said. “I just watched your show.”

“Me too,” Willow told the child enthusiastically. Her mood changed as she heard a sniffle on the other end of the phone.

“I’m sorry that mommy voted you off,” the child said.

“Thanks, sweetie. But it’s ok really.”

“No it’s not. Mommy should have voted off Robin or that other girl. Not you and not Faith.”

“Why?” Willow asked.

“Because you love mommy and Faith loves daddy so you three should get to be on the show some more.”

“Well that’s true,” Willow agreed, “but I love your mama even though she voted against me and she loves me too.” She paused a moment. “I’m not mad at her even a little.”

“Well, ok,” Ariel grudgingly agreed. “Can you give her a kiss and hug for me?”

“Sure,” Willow agreed holding up her palm toward Tara who was reaching for the phone, “but don’t you want to talk to her before you go to bed?”

Ariel paused. Finally she answered, “No. I think I’ll be mad at her until tomorrow but you hug her really good so she’s not sad, ok?”

“Um… ok,” Willow agreed as Tara reached out for the phone. The redhead shook her head and Tara looked even more confused. “You sleep well sweetie.” Willow made kissing noises into the phone. “Now can I talk to your daddy?”

Kent took the phone from Ariel and quickly said, “Willow?”

“Hey, Kent. Let me give the phone to Tara.” She handed the phone to the blonde who still seemed confused.

“Everything o-ok there?”

“I think she’ll be fine,” Kent tried to assure the blonde, “she said she’s mad at you for voting against Willow but she’ll be done being mad at you tomorrow.”

“Oh.”

“If it’s any consolation, she says she’ll be mad at Faith until Sunday.”

“Great,” Tara said sadly, “please give her a hug and kiss for me and I’ll call her in the morning, ok?”

“Sure. Now you just go have a good evening and tell Willow we’ll watch her in the morning.”

“Ok, good night.” Tara hung up the phone. She turned to see Willow sitting on the corner of the bed and sat down by her taking the redhead’s hand.

“She’ll feel ok tomorrow.” Willow tried to assure her lover, kissing her on the back of her hand.

“I know. But I just hate not getting to say good night to her.”

“I’m sorry,” Willow said hugging her. She pulled her in for a gentle kiss and when they pulled away Tara seemed to feel better. “So do you still want to go out for dinner?”

“Definitely. We have reservations right?”

“Right downstairs,” Willow smiled. She had been quite surprised that CBS was putting the couple up at such a swanky hotel but then it was getting near the show finale. When she had pulled up the information on the Internet, it turned out that the hotel had a 5 star. Of course they were both quite hungry since they had not reached the hotel until nearly 8:00, just in time to watch the episode. Willow opened the door and held it as Tara led her into the hallway.

A short elevator ride later they reached the front of the restaurant and after Willow gave her name, were led to a table near the side of the room. As they sat, they looked around the restaurant taking in the beautiful art and fine woodwork all around them. A large plant was near the table so it was possible to feel that they were relatively isolated rather than being in a large room full of people. In fact, the rather aggressively growing plant kept hitting Willow’s arm. “It’s a little like being on the island again, isn’t it?”

Tara laughed, “Yes. Except for the part where they gave us a menu and a bottle of wine and we’ve both had showers recently.”

The waiter approached and took their drink orders. They decided that since they were alone and in New York and enjoying CBS’s hospitality that they would share a nice bottle of wine. “You’re going with me in the morning, right?”

“If you don’t think they’ll m-make me talk too.”

“Baby,” Willow told Tara as she stroked her hand, “they’re not even expecting you to be there.”

“What?” Tara asked seeing the pensive look on her lover’s face.

“Well,” Willow said, “you um… I mean I know you don’t like the public speaking stuff like at the car dealership or anything but you have the Sunday night show and then the Monday morning shows too.”

“At the l-least,” Tara agreed.

“How are you going to deal with that, baby?”

Just then the wine steward approached the table with their bottle of wine. His presentation was of course flawless and once Willow had approved, he poured them both a glass. When he had finished he broke his professional demeanor. “Do you mind if I ask if you are Willow and Tara from Survivor?”

“Y-yes, we are.” Tara smiled but ducked her head slightly.

“I have been at work since 5:00,” he eagerly said, “is one of you here for the publicity tomorrow? Were you voted off?”

“I was.”

“Mmm.” He nodded. “Three to two vote?”

“Actually f-four to one,” Tara corrected him.

“Four to one? You voted against her?”

“I… it’s …,” Tara started.

“Did you tape it?” Willow interrupted. At his nod she told him, “Then you can watch the drama and scheming unfold after your shift.” She looked away as soon as she finished speaking in a way that made it clear that she was finished with the conversation.

After a moment the wine steward recovered returned to his professional air, wishing them a good evening.

“You’re really good at that.”

“Blowing people off? Wait until you meet my mother. If there was an Olympic event for cold shoulder, she’d win all the medals.”

“Great,” Tara laughed, “now your mother will be giving me the cold shoulder.”

“My parents will love you,” Willow said as she picked up the blonde’s hand, “just like I do.” She kissed Tara’s hand. “Well, not just like I do. I mean they’ll love you a very different way. In that kind of ‘gee, my daughter’s partner is really cool’ kind of way.”

Tara nodded as Willow babbled. “Definitely.”

The waiter returned and asked if they had made any decisions yet. They had not and he said he would return shortly. A few minutes later he returned carrying a plate which he set on the table. “The table over there said that they were fans and sent this over.” On the tray was an assortment of appetizers.

“R-really,” Tara protested, “we’re trying to just have dinner. Maybe someone else would like it?”

“Sure. Sorry about that. I’ll be back shortly to take your orders.”

“We’ve been home from the island so long you don’t accept free food anymore?”

“I’m t-tired of the notoriety. I just want to settle down and live our life.”

Willow smiled at her lover’s dream. “I don’t think that’s going to happen for at least a few days.”

“I know,” Tara agreed.

“Did you really think you’d make it this far?”

Before Tara could answer the waiter returned and both women gave their orders. He said that he would return with their appetizers and salads shortly. When she realized that Willow was watching her as if she expected an answer, Tara shook her head. “I really didn’t. I mean know I always loved nature and my grandmother taught me so much about plants that I wasn’t worried about survival but I never dreamed I could handle the p-people. You know?”

“Of course you could handle people.” Willow smiled. “You’re kind and gentle and everyone loved you. Even the Akathla people thought you were cool. Plus which you look hot in a sarong.” The redhead winked playfully at her lover.

“Thanks.”. She thought for a moment. “What made you like me at first? I mean we’d never even spoken when you decided you liked me and started flirting with me. What if I had some 250 pound truck-driving husband a home?”

“Well, they don’t let the husbands come on the show so I figured I was pretty safe,” Willow teased back. “And I can’t answer that except to say that from the first moment I saw you, I just wanted to be near you. I remember that first night lying in the shelter wondering what your hand would feel like.”

“Where did you want to feel it?” Tara asked huskily. She smiled when she saw the startled look on Willow’s face and reached her hand across the table to take Willow’s. “No more wondering, love,” she whispered before raising the smaller hand and kissing its back. As the two women were staring into each other’s eyes, oblivious to the abundant but gracious attention they were receiving for their fame, their appetizers came. They made themselves busy and realized just how hungry they actually were after their flight to New York, watching the show, and now their late dinner. Although a few people came over throughout the meal to say hello, ask for autographs, or wish an embarrassed Tara luck on Sunday, the rest of their meal was relatively uneventful.

After signing the check they left the restaurant and boarded the elevator to the room. Tara smiled as she heard the music coming from the small speaker in the ceiling. “Do you recognize this song?”

[blockquote]
“Dance with me,” Tara said, extending her hand toward Willow and continuing to dance in the doorway of the cabin.

Willow heard the words but felt like she was moving in slow motion. She was transfixed by the sight of Tara swaying to the music, moving fluidly in the bathrobe so conveniently placed on the back of the bathroom door. Each movement exposed a slice of flesh either on the blonde’s thigh or her chest and Willow felt excited and a little ashamed for peeping and enjoying it so. Finally gathering her wits, she pushed back her chair and stood. She started to step toward Tara but reconsidered and reached back to pick up both of their wine glasses and the bottle which she brought with her into the cabin.

After setting the wine on the floor, the redhead took a gentle step toward Tara and allowed their hands to entwine. She was entranced by the beauty of the women facing her. Another step brought their bodies into contact and Willow gently traced Tara’s jaw line with her free hand, unsurprised to feel the blonde press her face into Willow’s palm. At the same time Willow felt Tara place the redhead’s own hand on her hip before releasing it to put both her arms over the shorter girl’s shoulders. “Dance with me,” she repeated with a whisper.

Removing her fingertips from Tara’s soft face, Willow gently wrapped her other hand around the blonde’s hip and began to follow her lead in the sensual dance they shared. After a few minutes of silent movement, Willow began kneading the flesh under her fingertips. “You’re so thin, baby,” she said with obvious concern.

Tara moved her hands to run them along Willow’s sides. “No thinner than you.” The movement caused her to brush her fingertips along the still round globes of Willow’s breasts and both girls sharply inhaled at the intensity of the contact.

“Ten more days,” Willow said as she continued to assess the sharp hip bones she could feel though Tara’s robe.

“Ten more d-days.”

The song ended but the dance continued as both girls were entranced by their connection and their movement. The transition from sharing the dance to sharing kisses was seamless as their lips met with a heat and intensity. The dance was soon abandoned as hands began to roam over and then under the robes. With steps forward and matching ones backward, the pair reached the low futon mattress and gracefully dropped to their knees in front of it. Hands clutched at hair, skin, and the ties on the robes.

“Oh God.” Willow gasped as she reached to caress Tara’s breasts, not allowing herself to really observe the stretch marks indicating the change in the beautiful woman’s body in the last four weeks.

Tara fell sideways onto the pallet, pulling Willow with her and then on top of her body, heat emanating from their bodies as they fell onto the bed in a tangle of limbs.

Pulling away for only a moment to see Tara’s beautiful face beneath her, Willow brushed her hands along the blonde’s swollen lips before lowering her center onto the woman’s thin leg and allowing her own to drape between Tara’s. “So… beautiful…” Willow moaned as she contacted Tara’s flesh and felt the blonde’s wetness even as she began to slid along her thigh.

“Oh, W-willow,” Tara breathlessly groaned as her hips bucked forward and she again recaptured the redhead’s lips with her own.

Both women could feel their excitement mounting, climaxes close. “Tara,” Willow raggedly spoke, “I’m falling in i…”

Her words were cut off suddenly as she felt a rush of cold air on her wet center. Where moments ago she had Tara’s firm thigh bringing her pleasure and the blonde’s own center on her leg, now she felt a shocking lack of contact. She opened her eyes to see tears in Tara’s eyes as the blonde quickly pushed at Willow’s hip with her hand and rolled out from under her body. “Stop, stop, s-s-stop,” Tara repeated in a quiet repetition. “We have to stop. Have to stop.” She sat up on the edge of the pallet and shook her head as she murmured to herself.

Willow shook her own head in shock at the sudden stop in their love making. “Tara?” she whispered as she reached out a hand to lightly caress the blonde’s arm. She was happily surprised when Tara allowed her hand to stay. “Tara?” she repeated. “You’re shivering.” She leaned over to grab the robes from the foot of the bed, carefully wrapping one around first Tara and then herself.

“We were a-about to make a m-m-m…”

“A mistake?” Willow confirmed as she turned Tara’s face toward her. “It wouldn’t have been a mistake, baby.” She kissed the blonde softly on the lips before staring into her eyes.

“We-we don’t know each o-other,” Tara’s tears streamed down her face. “It’s all a game.”

“It’s not a game for me.”

“Neither of us c-c-can know that,” Tara argued, “I c-c-can’t make love with you if you think I am using you and I can’t do it if you’re u-using me.”

“I’m not.”.

“Then there will be time,” Tara assured her, kissing the younger woman gently.

Willow smiled. “Ten days,” she said with a chuckle. “I can wait ten days.”

“No.”

“No, what?” Willow pushed back to lean against the wall and opened her arms to indicate she wanted to cuddle Tara.

“Not t-ten days,” Tara said as she settled into Willow’s lap and began toying with the ends of the ties on her robe.

“At the jury resort? Let’s hope neither of us goes to the jury. But if we do, we’ll be at a beautiful resort together.”

“Not at the resort,” Tara said still toying with the ties from the robe.

“What?” Willow asked as she brushed her fingertips through Tara’s blonde hair.

“We need to take a break from all this,” Tara explained. “This island isn’t real life. It’s all pretend and a game.”

“What are you saying?” Willow asked in complete puzzlement. “Don’t you understand how I feel about you? How I thought you felt about me too?”

“I know. But it’s not real life.” She took a breath. “Think about how badly you want a grilled cheese sandwich.”

“Mmm,” Willow said playfully, “a grilled cheese sandwich.”

“If you had gotten here and they had a tray of grilled cheese s-sandwiches, you would have thought they were the best sandwiches ever even if they were American cheese on wonder bread. And uncooked on one side and burned on the other.”

“Wonder bread is good.” At Tara’s stern look she amended her statement. “I mean only whole wheat bread for me.” She made a playful over enthusiastic smile and a thumbs-up sign.

“You would have thought they were the best e-ever,” Tara continued, “because you’re desperate and away from home and everything and everyone you love. You don’t know how you feel about m-me because you can’t.”

“That’s crap. I could meet you in a club in downtown Atlanta and see what’s so special about you.”

“That’s just it,” Tara said, “I wouldn’t be in club in downtown Atlanta. I l-live in a small town in Ohio with my six year-old daughter. I go to bed early and work in a medical office. You think I’m exotic because I can start fires but I’m a regular soccer mom.” She saw the look on Willow’s face and said, “And I think you’re the most b-brilliant, funny woman I’ve ever met but I don’t know what your life is really like.”

“Find out ten days from now.” Willow argued in what was becoming a plea.

“We need to return to our lives when we leave this island. We need to work and sleep and eat. I need to spend every second I can with Ariel and figure out what I’m going to do with the rest of my life: College? Different job? What are all my dreams?”

“Every dream I have involves you.”

“Then they’ll still involve me w-when the show premieres.” Tara got a teasing smile on her face before adding, “And if it’s really real this will give you a few months to sow your oats.”

Willow laughed at Tara’s taunt. “They’re sowed.” She winked.

Both women were quiet for a few minutes until Tara turned and gave Willow a quick kiss. “I’ll be right back, sweetie,” she said before going in the bathroom.

“I’ll be here,” Willow yawned. When the blonde returned two minutes later Willow was stretched out on the bed, very close to sleeping. Tara crawled in behind her and wrapped her arms around her nearly-lover. “I’ll call you that day,” Willow mumbled in her drowsing state.

“I know,” Tara kissed the back of Willow’s neck and closed her own eyes.
[/blockquote]

The click of the door shutting behind them startled both women back from their memory. “Hey look,” Willow said as she noted the bottle of chilled Champaign and tray of strawberries near the door of the room. The card had the CBS eye logo and both their names on it.

Tara grabbed Willow’s hand and pulled the redhead toward her. She stared into her eyes for a few moments. “Do you have any idea how hard that was? How hard it was to not make love with you that night?”

“Do I?”

Tara smiled as she began unbuttoning her lover’s blouse. “I mean it,” she whispered kissing Willow’s neck. “I said stop and what I really meant was ‘don’t stop. Never stop.’” Her words fell on the flesh of Willow’s chest, her breasts, her nipples, her taut stomach. “Every night from then to the premiere, I wondered if it was the biggest mistake of my life. I wondered if you’d call or be the one that got away.”

“Got away,” Willow weakly echoed, her thoughts and voice distracted by the way Tara was stripping her skirt down her legs. The blonde’s hands were leaving no part of Willow’s body untouched as they did the necessary job of pulling down her already soaked panties.

“I could smell you in that cabin.” Tara inhaled her lover’s scent. She stood up and brought their lips together again, helping Willow to strip off her own clothes, now no more than bothersome impediments. “I went in the bathroom and ran my hand along my leg.”.

“Come,” Willow whispered as she pulled her lover toward the bed. Reaching the bed, again in a tangle of limbs, she pulled them down onto the covers and rolled them to pull back the covers so they were on the sheets.

“Yes.” Tara gasped as soon as she realized what Willow intended. The redhead hovered over Tara for a moment before lowering her wet center onto the girl’s leg and allowing hers to divide Tara’s.

It took only seconds for both women to find their rhythm, their bodies moving slickly together. They moved as one, hips bucking, legs pressing, passion rising as their hands grasped their bodies together and their lips embraced fluidly. “I love you,” Willow moaned as she felt her climax rising faster than she ever knew it could. But then this was just how it was with Tara, how she knew it would always be.

“Oh God,” Tara gasped, “I love you too, Willow. I love you so mu….” “Ahhh!” she screamed as her climax overtook her. She could feel Willow joining her even before she felt the warm liquid on her leg.

“Are you still with me?” Tara teased the semi-boneless woman in her arms.

“Barely,” Willow murmured as she continued nuzzling Tara’s neck. Now that she had collapsed on her lover, she had no intention of getting up and every intention of sleeping just like this.

“Thanks for waiting.”

“I love you,” Willow answered as she dropped into slumber. She could only nod as she heard Tara’s return declaration.

Yay, Debra! *sigh* I love the interactions between W and T. You always write them so beautifully. They are so real. Everything they say or do is so damned real. So wonderful. So very very wonderful.

Gotta feel sorry for Tara, though. Little Ariel all upset at her mom and Faith for voting against Willow. So cute! But at least her anger at Tara will be over in the morning. Faith has much longer to deal with the little anger monster. ;)

*sigh* I rush to read the update...and then realize it's just that much longer I have to wait for the next one. I'm so addicted. Thank heavens for Pride this weekend...maybe that will make the time until the next update go by more quickly.

I’m not sure you’re in the right place if you tend toward impatience. I’m going to post the reading of the votes in the 3rd update (the reunion special). Sorry but I think it will work better that way. Thanks.

I guess that means it will be about another month until we know who won then. This is good since it means at least another month of new Survivor updates, but bad since it means having to wait longer. I should explain that my impatience comes from me thinking that I know what is going to happen and now wanting to know if I am right. I am a math nerd at heart and have always loved trying to solve problems but could never wait to look in the back of the book to see if I was right. That is one of the things that I love about this fic is that it is a big puzzle.

This was another good update. It was nice to have Willow and Tara's reactions to what happened in the last episode. And you gave us more to think about with the "if you knew then what you know" line.

I feel bad for Tara because Ariel is mad at her. Luckily she said she won't be mad too long. I am sure it is hard for a 6 year old to understand everything that is going on.

And now we know why the girls didn't talk again until the premier and what happened in the cabin. I was surprised that that conversation happened in the cabin. I would have thought that they decided that in their conversation in the woods. The conversation that they had seemed so real. I could totally understand Tara's reasoning. When you are in unrealistic situations such as this one it would be hard to know if what you were feeling was real. A very good job with this explanation.

Good update and I am looking forward to Willow’s appearance on the Early Show.

*sigh* they are so damn cute...and aaaawwwww for Ariel. she was adorable. And wow do I know how Tara feels about wanting to be left alone! Uh, not that I know due to similar circumstances or anything but I'm from a small town my dad is well known in the community and when I visit and I can't even go to K-mart without people recognizing me and wanting to catch up blah blah blah. Go Tara for turning down the appetizers and just going for the dinner *nods*

And okay...you said Wednesday but today is Tuesday...does that mean that tomorrow there's going to be another update? And what's this "Sunday" business in the story? Does that mean we'll get the finale on Sunday as well?

And I have a question! My girlfriend tells me that the finale will be with the final four...which means there can't be much of this story left...is it really with the final four? Meaning that there's only one more actual episode left and then the reunion and an epilogue of sorts? (I may have just picked up that that's why the 'final four' has been such a big deal with the finale and what not...)

Either way, I'm still petrified that Robin is going to get the immunity and screw up the whole thing. I despised the throwing in of the whole "Would you still not have voted Faith of comments up at the beginning. I know that you're just trying to mess with my head. It won't work...okay, it might work.

And pride was a riot and the sore feet were worth it. :dance

Great job and I look forward to more...erm...sorry that this feedback ended up being so long....*shrug* Kudos to you!

Hey Debra!!

Finally we got to see what happened in the cabin.
And it really cleared some things up! I think it's a good thing that they took a break. WE know that Tara and Willow are meant to be together, but they couldn't possibly know for sure back then. Tara was right. Beeing on that island, totally away from RL ... it's not the same. It's the everyday life that puts a real test to a relationship...

And Ariel. Oh, so sorry for the little girl. I think she must be really upset. It's a good thing Tara is her mum, otherwise Ariel wouldd probably never talk to her again, like ever....

“I think she’ll be fine,” Kent tried to assure the blonde, “she said she’s mad at you for voting against Willow but she’ll be done being mad at you tomorrow.”

“Oh.”

“If it’s any consolation, she says she’ll be mad at Faith until Sunday.”

:lol

Great update as usual!

I'm officially mad at Car for not IMing me that you updated. Not only that, she even left reply, meaning she *knew* about the update. Hmmpft, I've decided I'll be mad at her until lunchtime. Of course I reserve the right to determine whose lunchtime shall be the end of the "being mad" period - hers, mine, or someone else's.

Willow seems very blasé about being voted out, not being the slightest bit mad at Tara. On a fundamental level she lost her chance of $1million. I mean, a million! This proves to me yet again that her mind hadn't been on the actual game for a while and as far as she's concerned she won the grand prize.

Ariel! How precious.
I’ll be mad at her until tomorrow

If only adults were like this, be as big, have a limit to being sore and then all is well. Sigh. A word about Kent too, he's such a good friend and father.

Tara's shyness will make her life difficult in the next few weeks, particularly if she makes F2. I bet deep inside her she wish Willow could take all her questions from her. If she makes F2 I see her doing well though, because all she will be is herself.

Yes, you keep on posting NC-17 and they'll expect NC-17 every update, now are you sorry? Of course you're not :lol. It was a great NC-17, by the way, very sensual, heated and a little frantic. While I was reading, I knew they won't go all the way cos I always figured their first time was after the Cirque du Soleil. But still, hot.
Willow raggedly spoke, “I’m falling in i…”

I almost cried for Willow then. Just about to declare her feelings, but being stopped. I absolute agree with and condon Tara's decision :clap. It was difficult for her to stop, cos raging hormones and loneliness and being on the island, but yes it was probably the best decision she ever made in her life (after the decision to have Ariel of course).

Next update -- F4 is pared down :bounce it's gonna be a looonnnng week of anticipation and reading.

ps About Asher. How clever! Teaching the dog what he was taught, I had the image that they'd both learn picture cards together when the time comes. I said this in your FC2 entry, about how your love for your family shines through constantly. Your son is very lucky to have such wonderful parents, he is going to be so smart. You see, I trust Irene's word when it comes to children. If she says he'll be smart, I say he definitely will be smart :).

Asher teaching the dog, that is so sweet :D

Now onto this chapter, I was really impressed by Ariel in this one. She doesn't understand why Tara voted against Willow, cuz she wanted the Disney version where Willow and Tara are the final two, and CBS says "You know, you two are so great, how about you both have a million dollars." Entirely unlike us realistic adult readers, of course... :eyebrow But what impressed me is she knows she's upset, and she did all she could to keep from upsetting her mom more than she knew she would be anyway. It seemed, to me anyway, that - whether she knew it consciously or just knew it by instinct - she didn't want Tara to hear the hurt in her voice at that moment, before she could deal with it herself. And she made sure Willow would give Tara a big hug to comfort her, until they could talk again in the morning when the surprise and shock had worn off. She's such an adorable, mature child, you've done a wonderful job in bringing her to life. If you feel that way inclined, I'd love to see more Willow/Tara/Ariel stories even after Survivor finishes, just them as a family.

Moving to other matters, something Willow said got my attention - she asked if Tara knew what she knows now, would she have voted against Faith. What does she know now? And what does Willow know she knows? I'm wondering if Tara's the next to go. I think Faith would have a much better chance against Kendra or Robin than against Tara - Faith may be able to beat Tara at challenges, but the way I see it the final two are in a popularity contest, the only thing that matters is which of them the Jury likes more. Faith's got a strong shot at winning that - she's schemed and played hard, but I've never felt she's been dishonest beyond the expected boundaries of the game. She's never made it a secret that she's wanted to get herself, Tara and Kendra into the final four, and after that win the prize for herself no matter what - she's played the game like a chess mistress, not a liar. I think even from those she's outplayed, that earns respect, and votes - enough to sink Kendra or Robin. Tara could get more votes than Faith though - I think Faith would still win 4 to 3 (based on my prediction strategy of Highly Scientific Wild Guesswork), but that's a narrow margin, and Faith may think it'd be safer to get rid of Tara before the final two. No-one knows who's going to win yet, but if Tara didn't make the final two, Willow would know that, right?

Anyway, that aside, it was good to see what got edited out of that night between Willow and Tara after they won the cars. I can totally see Tara's point of view, and why it was her, not Willow, who realised they needed to take some time. Willow, pre-Island, was more the free spirit, while Tara knew what it took to put down roots and build a solid life. I loved Tara telling Willow how difficult it was to say stop - I can imagine :x

So, Early Show next, and then the finale? Staying tuned... :bow

This was a great update. I enjoy knowing what happened in the cabin. Their talk seemed a little short to me - Tara stopped them, Willow protested, Tara said "Let's wait till the premiere" and then Willow agreed and went to sleep. There's nothing out of place about that sequence of events, but I guess I would have expected a little more conversation from Willow about the agreement, and a little less self-assuredness. Although I'm probably projecting onto her since that's how I would be.

Also, I guess I should remind myself that the girls have had plenty more conversations that we haven't seen, and maybe they've covered some ground already in terms of their pasts (even if they haven't talked about their future much before the cabin).

Ariel is so cute. Kids are SO CUTE! My nieces are 3 and 1 and I just LOVE spending time with them. I have baby fever. Asher sounds adorable. 2 years, maybe 3, and then my partner and I will take the parenting plunge!

Oh wow Debra....there were so many good things about this update...

first...

Ariel paused. Finally she answered, “No. I think I’ll be mad at her until tomorrow but you hug her really good so she’s not sad, ok?”

That part made me actually say awwwwwe out loud. :lol and then I noticed that my hamster was staring at me like i'd lost my mind...and I was completely embarassed :lol :blush

this whole update was sooooo romantic. I think that you've hit a pinacle of writing that all us writers aspire to....you were able to capture every single moment in the most real way I've ever read. That amazes me. I was so caught up in what you'd wrote that for a moment I forgot it was just a story and not something that had really happend. :-D

I especially loved the flashback part to Willow and Tara's nearly-love-making scene....the dance was just... wow....and then they almost....but they didn't. And it wasn't even like, I felt like Tara was overanalyzing the situation when she made them stop, before it went too far. I thought she was being totally rational...and that's what they needed that moment.

thank you Debra for a wonderful update.

xoxo

Brilliant update.......as always!

“We need to return to our lives when we leave this island....Then they’ll still involve me w-when the show premieres.”

Whoa......you managed to answer the question I forgot I had. I was wondering why it seemed like Willow and Tara were only aquaintances or teammates during their time on the Island. The phone call in the first posting (when Willow left the message on Tara's answering machine mentioning her last name so that Tara would know who she is).

Poor Tara, she must feel horrible that Ariel is angry with her but she'll only have to deal with it for the night and I'm sure Willow managed to take Tara's mind off of the horrible feeling. Poor Faith.....but I guess Sunday is only a few days away. Maybe Ariel will give in and not stay angry with Faith.

I can't wait for the Final Four! So......

Update soon please.............pretty please! :flirt

Hi Debra,
Wednesday has become my favourite day of the week and it's all down to your wonderful story! I loved Ariel being angry with her mommy and laughed out loud when she told Willow that she would be okay the next day. Kids can be very forgiving. The interaction between Willow & Tara was wonderful, you make them so real. It was great to see what had gone on at the cabin and Tara was right to call a halt to her & Willow's love making. Absence certainly made their hearts grow fonder.

Loved hearing about Asher teaching the dog to read. My son was more technically minded. At eighteen months I caught him taking a plug apart with a screwdriver and doing it correctly! They learn so quickly.

Ariel is so cute. I love that she set a limit for how long she is gonna be angry. And that she's gonna be mad at Faith longer. Hee.

It was great seeing what happened in the cabin. So, that's why they didn't have contact til the premiere. Makes sense.

“I’ll call you that day,” Willow mumbled in her drowsing state.

Debra,

I wondered how the episode and prior ones had been edited and it was nice to have Willow make mention of how slanted editing can be.

Ariel's reaction was simply priceless. Very well thought out as to how she chose to respond.

My favorite thing though was the hidden detail from the night at the cabin. It makes complete sense now why W/T didn't talk until the premiere.

I am so going to miss this story once it finishes

Postby Kajun » Thu Jun 23, 2005 1:12 pm

Deb, here you are on part 29 already and I didn’t leave any feedback for 28, so sorry. When Robin won immunity I figured Willow would be voted off. That was really a sad moment, especially Tara crying while holding up her vote for the cameras. Now my heart hurts for little Ariel. Explaining her reasons for why her mommy shouldn’t vote against Willow and Faith was so sweet. She just wants to protect her family and to win the game! Tara was right to want to wait until after they left the island. They would have ended up together anyway but by waiting, the girls were able to build their relationship without doubts getting in the way. :heart Wonderful, heartwarming update. Thanks so much.

Carleen – Shame on you. You posted first reply and didn’t even give Watson a chance to get into the contest. Tsk, tsk, tsk. You know Mistresses don’t tend to take that type thing that well but then if y’all limit yourselves to jumping…

Thanks about W/T and their interactions. I certainly try. I definitely feel bad for Tara but it can’t have been completely unexpected by her. She knows her daughter very well and would know that it was coming.

Faith has much longer to deal with the little anger monster.
Yes, but at least Faith is in Boston and won’t see Ariel until Sunday morning or Saturday afternoon in New York.

Hope Pride goes well. Ours was the weekend of the fourth but we didn’t go because of scheduling. Each of the last three years that I’ve gone I’ve run into a different guy from work who wasn’t out at work. Of course, I’m like the very Queen of Out at work so I’m sure it was strange for them.

I rush to read the update...and then realize it's just that much longer I have to wait for the next one.
Ok, don’t hold me to this but I will possibly post the next update this weekend. But that doesn’t mean I want 20 posts asking where the update is…

Thanks for everything including being first.

raven – Thank you and glad you liked. I think that will be the last NC-17 update in this story. Oh, sad to see them go…

blue eyed girl – Another month is about right. Again, not promising but If I get the last two parts written quickly, I will probably speed up the posting but I’d say a month just to be safe.

Well, it just gives you a little longer to work on your predictions. Definitely hinting on the “if…” I think it is very hard for Ariel to understand that Tara would vote against Willow.

I was surprised that that conversation happened in the cabin. I would have thought that they decided that in their conversation in the woods.
Yes, it was clear from many readers’s responses that everyone thought that conversation happened in the woods. But it had already been decided.

Thanks.

AnirtakEnigma – Yes, they are cute. While I feel for Tara, I kind of have a “you went on a reality show!!!” attitude toward her shyness. She wants to win a million dollars but doesn’t want people to ask for her autograph? It’s all a package.

I'm from a small town my dad is well known in the community and when I visit and I can't even go to K-mart without people recognizing me and wanting to catch up blah blah blah.
You want to hear something worse? We’re from a small town and we were one of the only Jewish families in town. When my brother would go back to visit my father as a teenager, people would stop him on the street and say “I went to your bris.” It was completely mortifying to him as a teenager to think that these people all had seen that (not that they do it on a big screen TV or anything like that).

And okay...you said Wednesday but today is Tuesday...does that mean that tomorrow there's going to be another update?
Good try. This update was the Wednesday update early.

And what's this "Sunday" business in the story? Does that mean we'll get the finale on Sunday as well?
I’ll still be following my posting schedule but in the story timeline, the finale all happens on Sunday.

That’s right. The story is almost over. Basically here is what is left:

Willow’s interviews
2 Hour Survivor Finale
1 Hour Survivor Reunion show (including winner reveal)
???Aftershow party???
???F4 interviews???

I definitely think that being worried about Robin is valid. Lol about “it might work.” Thanks so much.

Insanity – Hey there. Yes finally. I agree with both you and Tara; there was really no way for the girls to know how they felt about each other long term in that situation.

Yeah, Ariel is upset but she’ll get over it. Thanks.

Irene73 – Thanks so much about Asher. Yeah, he’s brilliant but of course I feel like that: he’s my baby! Lol about your son’s gf. I’m glad that she says Hi to him every day and hugs him even if he sees that as a downside. How old is he? 4?

Your feelings about Ariel: ahhh.

I didn’t mean to make Willow sound bitchy. I think that’s she’s really trying to shield Tara from the attention and that she feels slightly guilty about it. I mean they’re rather a icon for the gay community but here comes the flack with Tara voting Willow off. I agree that the guy wasn’t greatly out of line but it isn’t in his job description too.

Glad you agree with Tara’s thought process.

You’re so welcome. Thanks for the feedback.

Watson – I think that the whose lunchtime is a pretty big thing. I just had my lunch and people in California aren’t even there yet. So Carleen may be in huge trouble. Just so you know, I gave her some shit above. She should treat you better as she has signed on to be your willing ser… wait a minute. Maybe she didn’t. Maybe she said to herself, “well sure Watson wants to know when there’s an update but Debra did post in the update thread. Surely she’ll notice that when she checks.”

Willow seems very blasé about being voted out, not being the slightest bit mad at Tara. On a fundamental level she lost her chance of $1million. I mean, a million! This proves to me yet again that her mind hadn't been on the actual game for a while and as far as she's concerned she won the grand prize.
Keep in mind three things:

1. It has been about 6.5 months since Willow was voted off the show. She’s had plenty of time to get used to the idea.
2. She’s head-over-heels in love with Tara.
3. She is a mathematical genius, with these goes amazing puzzle and game skills. She ran game scenarios in her head every second of every day and knew every “if she… then he…” She knew the moment that Robin won immunity that she was done unless she could turn on Faith. But she also knew that was terribly unlikely. And she was aware that there was no reason for Tara to shoot herself in the foot to give Willow a better showing.

If only adults were like this, be as big, have a limit to being sore and then all is well.
It’s something we do in our house. If we are irrationally mad (or even rationally mad), we try to decide at who and how long. If you ask someone who is mad, I mean raving mad, how long they want to be mad, you’d be surprised how quickly that will stop the raving. We find that given the freedom to be mad for a set amount of time takes a lot of energy out of it.

Another of our little things is that sometimes in the morning we each take 2 minutes to be grumpy. It’s hard to be grumpy on cue and kind of fun but it generally makes the day go more smoothly.

I think you’re right that Tara would love for Willow to do all her publicity but she has to suck it up. I know I sound kind of harsh but she went on a reality show! She has to live with it now.

Yes, Cirque was definitely their first time. And glad you agreed with both girls’ actions. Makes Willow’s actions in the first real life update even more profound don’t you think? I mean

Next update -- F4 is pared down it's gonna be a looonnnng week.
Actually next update, Willow’s publicity tour.

I had the image that they'd both learn picture cards together when the time comes.
I’m laughing at my desk because you can’t really imagine how dumb this particular dog happens to be. Very cute. Very loveable but very very dumb. Thanks for everything you say about my family. It’s the best thing in the world!

Irene73 – See, everyone knows that you are the bomb! Mmm fudge. I make fudge for the holidays every year. About 15 batches of it. Goes over huge.

Artemis – Hey Chris! Yeah Ariel is pretty cool and of course she doesn’t get it. She doesn’t understand killer game theory. She just knows that her mommy and Faith voted against her friend Willow. Doesn’t make sense to her. She’s a pretty mature little kid.

If you feel that way inclined, I'd love to see more Willow/Tara/Ariel stories even after Survivor finishes, just them as a family.
Oh God. I hate to say never but I generally feel pretty bored by my characters when the story is over.

something Willow said got my attention - she asked if Tara knew what she knows now, would she have voted against Faith. What does she know now? And what does Willow know she knows?
Not a subtle insertion and I wasn’t trying to be subtle. I was trying to make the kittens a little crazy. The other thing is that I want to show that even though Willow is an outsider now she’s still an insider. I hope that makes sense. Oh and the standard “good guesses.”

Yep, Early Show, then finale.

SallyMcFine – Thanks so much. I’ve had that cabin part written in my head since their first phone conversation. I agree that the talk was short. In real life it probably would have taken hours but that wouldn’t be any fun to read or write. I don’t mean to sound glib but it was a pretty straightforward conversation.

But as you point out, the girls have had many more conversations than we have been privy to.

I totally understand about baby fever. I’m already having it again because Asher is just so fun. Enjoy your nieces until you can join the parenting ranks. Thanks.

Emms – Thanks. So everyone really liked the Ariel line. Good. Hmmm… If you think that your hamster is staring at you like you’ve lost your mind it’s possible that you have. :grin

this whole update was sooooo romantic. I think that you've hit a pinacle of writing that all us writers aspire to....you were able to capture every single moment in the most real way I've ever read.
Wow and also wow. That is wonderful praise, particularly from you so thank you very much.

I’m glad that you liked the flashback. I really worried whether it would seem as if Tara was being cruel or making a mistake. Seems like most readers really appreciated her decision. Thank you.

Tonto – Thank you. I wondered if everyone still remembered about their hiatus. It seemed that those who had assumed that the conversation took place in the woods which was a little fun for me.

The phone call in the first posting (when Willow left the message on Tara's answering machine mentioning her last name so that Tara would know who she is).
Yes, I reread that part yesterday and find it pretty amazing given what we now know what happened.

I’m sure Tara and Ariel will both be fine. Thanks.

caz – Yay for Wednesday! Kids are great. I agree. I’m glad you liked the cabin.

Wow, I’d be terrified if Asher was taking apart a plug. You mean like an electrical outlet? Amazing but scary!

Thanks.

littlecrazy80 – Thanks.

the hero factor – Thanks. Yeah, I love Ariel. She’s pretty cool and logical. Yep, that’s the why. Thanks.

Boadecia – Hi and welcome. :wave So glad to see your note. Thank you.

cooper – Edited! Oh yeah, it’s a major thing on all the reality shows. I saw one of the “villains” from The Apprentice complaining that for every minute she was on screen, they shot 100 hours. I don’t know if she meant 100 hours of her or 100 hours total. Either way, lots to edit.

Ariel is a pretty cool and pretty mature kid. Glad you liked the cabin.
I am so going to miss this story once it finishes
Thanks. That’s really sweet.

Kajun – Double thanks for two sets of feedback. Yeah, definitely sad for Tara to have to make the choice. Ariel is hurting but she’ll be fine. She’s with Kent and she’ll talk to her mommy tomorrow. I’m glad you approve of their delay. Thanks.
