I'm in jeans (again) with a sequin-y pattern-y top that I am starting to regret buying as everyone I meet says "Been dressed by the gypsy's again, then?" The BTVS minded ones ask whether I've eaten a hippy and something stuck...

ooh candleshoe, so wifebeaters are as strange to you as jumpers are to americans. look at the valuable cultural lessons we're sharing here people, i can almost hear "we are the world."

so, "wifebeaters" are the sleeveless men's undershirts, usually white and ribbed (but not for her pleasure) commonly associated in popular american culture with trashy looking dudes who beat their wives, or at least look slimely enough that they could. think brando in "a streetcar named desire".

despite their unfortunate name, chicks tend to look wicked hot in them. wicked. hot. but only certain kinds of chicks. if they have too much boobage, it's usually not that hot. they look best on a toned, semi-muscular girl with nothing more than a b-cup, in my expert opinion. consider yourself schooled, candleshoe.

ETA: i'm presently wearing blue and grey striped pj bottoms, a white longsleeve t-shirt and a navy blue hoodie from my alma mater, salem college.

My favorite pair of worn, slightly loose fitting jeans (ripped, torn, and oh so comfy, I'll be sad when they finally die). A pair of black boots & my dark blue Tootsie Pop tee that says 'How many Licks does It Take?'

I'm out the door!

Never thought something I would wear could elicit such a conversation as well as bridge a cultural gap. For futher clarification, candleshoe, click here. A wifebeater at it's best.

Couldn't agree with you more. But I'm still kinda inching my way into 'a toned, semi-muscular girl with nothing more than a b-cup.' My partner seems to enjoy them though . . .

Topic: I'm wearing . . . damn! Well they come in three packs, you know! Another wifebeater and some comfy pajama bottoms. Oh, and new socks! Love new socks . . . with the softness and the fuzziness . . .

Thanks for the link, Foo, now I understand.... And BOY do I understand!

We call them vests here, and I quite like a bit of boobage....or not. An "inclusive like" in fact, which has no wrong answer. :glasses

Edited to modify the boobage liking, as I find I am less fussed than I thought I was!

I guess In America I would be wearing a 'wifebeater' too :lol and in England it would be a vest. Think I prefere vest, and it's a black one with khaki trousers, and some new trainers that are a little uncomfy.

I am wearing red sweat pants, a gray t-shirt with a cute little Chihuahua pup that says, "If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch." I'm also wearing my favorite black hoodie with the hood up because it is a little chilly out tonight. My beautiful smile and sparkling blue eyes complete the ensemble. :lol I'm not conceited at all. :P

Well, I'm all smart today, well, smart-ish anyway, 'cos I've been at interviews all day (well, one interview, one informal visit), so I'm wearing, black velvet cords, a black vest top, a white v-neck sweater & a long black cardigan - lots of layers, 'cos it's very, very cold today.

Hugs

Black velvet cords (again, but it's a different pair), a pale pink vest top and a grey wrap-over cardigan - semi-smart today 'cos I've been to a christening.

black and blue jogging pants and a sort of rust red t-shirt. It's a strange combination, but oddly enough it seems to work.

Time for bed!
