Yes, I must admit I do wonder about how people will react to that. Did anyone ask Amber about that scene? If so what was her response?

I know she cannot think about past characters when dealing with her own work but I wonder if it entered into her thinking at all, and the possible reaction she might get.

I'd like to hear more about it before I'm certain, but based on what I've been reading here I'm afraid I might give this a miss.

Really depends on how it is done. It may be Amber's snide swipe at Joss, or just a funny but poignant reminder of the danger of firearms. I think I need to see context. But I am now cautious where before I was optimistic.

I dont think anyone should be cautious. It's a dark comedy and it was very well done. Amber did a damn good job with this film. (even if i did miss bits of it... like potential angel said.. we were rather distracted.. and then there was the power cut, and the guy literally falling thought the wall, lmfao)
honestly, i thought her character was going to get up.. but nope! i couldn't believe that another of her characters' had died.. again! but it was funny, and it was a funny ending- for the character and the film. I think that, because of the way the character died (ie very funny! lol), most ppl won't have a negative response in comparing to how Tara dies. I personally thought the film was great, and while it would be nice to see a film in which her character does not die, i have no problem with the comical end to Amber's film, and would highly recommend this film to everyone
potential angel did comment, when amber asked if anyone had any qus or comments about the film (Amber was so nervous about people's opinoins, bless her!), but i can't remember what Amber's response was.. ? *nudges potential angel*

And yes, the first screening was at london expo last year.

Guess I will ahve to wait and see. But I am still cautious. I guess it will rely a lot on context. But I cannot say I am enthused anymore.

*nudges Sn0wflak3* Stop nudging me... :cry

errrr lets see if I can remember...hmm yes i think I do!
At the end of the film when Amber was asking if anyone had any comments or questions and no one put there hand up and she looked a bit lost so I put up my hand and said ''That was brilliant but I only have one problem with it. You were shot...again!' and I believe Amber replyed something along the lines of 'Yes I realized that but you have to believe me that I started writing this film quite some time ago, actually I started work on this before Chance was even made so at that point it didnt occur to me that It would be the second time my character was shot' She then talked about having a knack for playing dead people...
But definitely if you have a chance to see it then go see it or you're missing out!!!
i envy you guys for getting the chance to go to the screening and actually watch the movie with amber a couple of seats away... well, i've read the spoilers and i still want to see it if given a chance.

umgaynow wrote:Well, I hate to be evil, but the fact no one else can seem to afford to go to the screening makes me feel better about being not only poor but geographically unfortunate in this instance..

well, i'm definitely of the unfortunate variety coz not only will i have to shell out that amount for the screening but will have to buy a plane ticket just to get to the screening... being halfway around the world really sucks!

was the screening jampacked? i'm glad many kittens were able to go... let us show our support to our favorite indie film goddess/auteur as umgaynow put it.

Well, I know a little more about the film now. I will place my comments as a spoiler section soa s not to annoy people who do not want to know details about the film.
Well, I now know that Justine is not the only death in the film. That makes it look less arbritrary but I am now even less enthused about seeing the finished product. I am very uncomfortable about violent death being used as a source of cheap laughs. I will still se the film, but I cannot at this point say that I am excited, or even optimistic, about it.
I don't want to draw any preconceptions based on the very thin amount of information that seems to be floating around about this film

I'd still dearly like to read a proper synopsis and review of the film from someone or ones who have actually seen it.

anyone here who has actually seen the film care to give us a run down?

Well, I did have reservations about this film but having spoken to Diane Benson about it, I am much happier as I feel my concerns have been answered.

I gave my reservations to her and she answered me. I no longer have those reservations now. Not much of a story. My reservations were based on small snippets of reports. Diane was able to give me a fuller understanding of the context of the film and I am now placated.

I have to agree with those who have seen this film that it is really good despite
Amber getting shot, again
I too was lucky enough to see it at the London Expo last May, and it was very very funny despite the various problems occuring during the screening, like the electricity going out and the guy falling through the wall type thing. Sometime tomorrow, if I get a chance and can remember, I'll post a detailed review of the film. It's definitely worth going to see it if you have the opportunity. It's by far the most money I've ever paid to see a film (£20), and this wasn't even finished at the time, but I have no regrets about it at all. It was an amazing day and was made even better by the opportunity to see Amber's latest work. I'd be at this event if I could afford to fly halfway across the world to be there, but alas I am but a poor college student, so I shall be staying in England and wishing I could be there.
Hope those of you who do get to go enjoy the film as much as my friends and I did. We laughed ourselves silly at points.
especially with Christine's "It's my fault officer, we don't have big speakers" and Amber's character's accomplice trying to figure out how to get into the house, while Amber is inside jumping up and down at the window, and Amber trying to get through a cat flap. Lol.
from part 2 of an interview with Muhney who plays the sheriff on Veronica Mars

http://ifmagazine.com/feature.asp?article=1470

iF: What can you tell me about the film you did with Amber Benson last year?

MUHNEY: I have to say I was really impressed with the cut of the movie in comparison to the rough cut I had seen earlier. I’m pretty enthusiastic about this movie making it out to film festivals, and being on the shelf at Blockbuster Video. In the movie LOVERS, LIARS, AND LUNATICS I play a sort of a green thief who takes his piece of crap car and his not-so-bright girlfriend to a supposedly empty house where there is a large amount of cash hidden. We’re supposed to take the money and get out, and that is not what happens. Instead an entire evening of craziness ensues, and Amber Benson plays my girlfriend in the movie. Things in the robbery don’t go our way and hostages are taken and hilarity follows.

Then Amber Benson came to Chicago and did a cameo on a film I was starring in. I co-wrote and produced a film that shot in Chicago last summer, which is currently called ANGST. We had people in it like Amber, and she was fantastic. It was Pat Morita’s final movie. Frank Nicotero, the well-known stand up comedian in Los Angeles, was in the picture and he is hilarious. Eddie Jones, the acclaimed character actor is in it. He’s been in every other movie that people have seen like SEABISCUIT and THE TERMINAL.

I love the independent film world, and if I could I would do at least two independent films during the summer hiatus. I would do them for next-to-nothing, because it’s like going back and doing theatre. It’s a gamble, and you never know which film will pop.

Amber and I have worked together twice, and I’ve name-dropped her to the producers of VERONICA MARS. Since they’ve had Alyson Hannigan and Charisma Carpenter, and even Joss Whedon, why not get Amber on the series?

First of all, have to say YAY! gotta get this film. Been meaning to make good on my attempt to get PayPal set up but now I have real incentive.

Also, just wanna say how happy I am at the pricing of the DVD. Many celebs milk their fans senseless (rob them blind) but Amber doesn't and that is a good thing.

I will certainly be spreading the word.

Done! Thanks for letting us know, Vampire Parrot. I remember you from Sidewalk 2001 in Birmingham, Alabama, the only time I've seen Amber in person.
PayPal is a dangerous thing, especially when one frequents eBay and is unemployed as I currently am. But heck, this is Amber we're talking about, isn't it? :party
I think one of my first PayPal transactions was for for Chance in March, 2001. Yes, I'm still (and always will be) a fan of Amber's.

The Internet is a wondrous thing, isn't it?
It allows all Amberholics and other fans of Amber's alike to come together and share in the joy and good times that accompany a new work of her art.
I never hesitate to invest in Amber whether it be PayPal, eBay, or direct mail to Benson Entertainment.
She rewards us a hundredfold with her unique perspective upon everyday living reflected through her dark and twisted humour.
Bwah hah hah, acopy of LL&L on DVD will soon be mine.
