Not all your friends, Auburn.. ;-) The National Trust do working holidays there (as opposed to the frighteningly expensive ordinary holidays), perhaps we should go dry-stone walling for a week...

My not-so-secret dream (running a law firm) is getting better by the day. The senior partner told me today that he wants to have retired by November 2008, and he wants me and a couple of colleagues to take over....so I'm getting there, slowly. But what is a couple of years in the grand scheme of things?

my semi-secret dream is kind of silly and simple. i want to get married and have my favorite band, the nields, play at the reception which will be held at the hotel northampton. a girl can dream, right?

i also want to hold elective office.

Surely you can sexually harass your own interns then, right? You won't need me...

someone's got to teach me how to do it properly and give me grounds to sue and win enough money to fund my campaign.

Dry stone walling? that invloves hard work doesn't it? That's getting sweaty for the wrong reasons.

And will you two stop seducing your office juniors, you're making me want to be one.

my office is in dire need of summer interns

living in the states and being leered at and hit on by a lower-level supervisor? really, auburn, what more could you want??

henceforth, my work-place theme song shall be belle & sebastian's "step into my office, baby."

A LOG CABIN!

Oh, and an office junior of my very own, please. Maybe I could borrow one of yours Miss Shoe? I was going to say maybe I could be one of yours, but there's flirting, then there's giving it away.

Auburn, you're making the thought of a log cabin start to appeal to me.

Actually, I've kind of always wanted a log cabin, not to live in though, just as a holiday home, maybe I could get one near to Auburn's - we could be log cabin neighbours or something. :)

Auburn, something tells me that, far from "giving it away", you would be a very expensive date...

Yes, but, Miss Shoe, I'm like 'Loreal'..... I'm worth it. (I have always wanted to say that) And I wouldn't be an expensive date, I mean, of course I'd expect a log cabin from you, but not on the first date, maybe the third.

Pfft! Expensive my bottom! I'm common, remember?

kindagay wrote:maybe I could get one near to Auburn's - we could be log cabin neighbours or something.

Sounds like a plan to me, just waiting for my third date, then I'll meet you there. Deal?

I'm editing this, because miss Shoe. I'll come to Lundy with you, if you come to Lanzarote with me

No you don't, Auburn. You wish you had gone to an all-girls school like the fictional ones. The real ones are full of really bitchy girls who shout "lezzie" in your face and then run away like it's catching. Trust me. :happy

My secret dream: Today I fancy living in Michigan. It has a nice sound to it, Mich-i-gan...

OK, OK, there was a bit of perving in the changing rooms, and some really, really hot girls who were 'experimenting' rather a lot.

Does that help with the mental imagery?

Re: all girls schools. Boarding high school in my case (Many moons ago).

Take a hundred 12 to 18 year old girls. Shake them up a bit and cram them and all of their drama drama drama in to one small school.

On topic:

Kids... and someone I love to raise them with me. I know - kind of mundane, not exactly "secret dream" material. But I'd like, ya know? I want to be able to hold a child of mine and feel one of those really spiffy tiny little hands clutch on to me. I dunno - maybe one of these days, eh?

Boschi: That is an admirable dream. One that I completly agree with and it is one of my dreams as well. Even if it is mundane it's one of the best dreams to have. I don't know why it just feels like it is. :-D

Emms, might I suggest perhaps instead sacrificing your favorite outfit? Less permanant than both matyrdom and maiming. Unless your good lady wife digs scars?

Topic: Getting enough money that I can live off the interest, kiss my job goodbye and kick back, relax, and write just for fun for the rest of my life.

Tarafied4Life, I'm soo right there with you about going to Sweden!

And actually I have been to Orsnkoldsvik twice in my life, it was really nice there, we've got some friends who have a house there.
But my area of Sweden is more the area around Stockholm, I just adore this town!

So, anyway, my secret dream is going to Sweden, working in a newspaper or even write and publish books! I don't want to be rich as hell, but I'd like to earn a nice wage so that I don't have to think about money all the time and plan my life after the amount of money I have. That'd be just... awesome.
Living in a nice flat in Stockholm, but always being able to go out for a walk into the great Swedish nature, that's what I'm dreaming of.

I'm glad that I'm working on that dream ;)

I would like to compose a Terry Gilliam or Tim Burton film score.

Something with whimsical orchestrations - lots of bassoon and cello and a mandolin or two. Castanets.
