A couple of other people have started photo threads and always one to jump on a bandwagon I thought I'd post some of mine as well.

Nice Work Justin. I have a few shots of the view from the Trade Towers. Not to mention as they were under attacked in 1993 and 9/11. It's still really hard for me to post them though since it practically happened in my back yard.

Please show some more.

Yeah, photo threads are cool.

Last year I went to Portsmouth with my parents for a family get together down there. Here are some of the pictures I took.

Thanks Tarebear, I'm glad you liked the pictures.

Since you asked so nicely here are some more. These were all taken from the Heights Of Abraham. That's a hill that's near Matlock Bath. You take a cable car in order to get up to the top.

Thanks SJ.

These pictures are from Eyam. A small village that is mainly famous for a plague outbreak in 1665 and for the fact the people there quarantined themselves to stop the plaque from spreading.

Those pictures are so good, Justin. I loved The view from Eyam and the one you posted earlier of the castle. We don't have anything like a castle in Oregon...I've always wanted to see one in RL. I really enjoy seeing your pictures...it's so neat to be able to picture the world from someone else's perspective. I can't wait for more. :D

Thanks Emms

I loved The view from Eyam and the one you posted earlier of the castle.

I was happy with the way those two turned out. Especiall the castle since the castle was miles away, but it looks like I was pretty close to it. All thanks to having a camera with 10x optical zoom :)

I'm going on the Bakewell walk today. It starts off at the village of Bakewell, goes round to Haddon Hall, then back to Bakewell. It's five miles in all. I'll be sure to put up some of my pictures when I get back

Thanks Cecile.

i know what you mean... i get the same feeling whenever i see "amber bakeshop."

That reminds me. There's a jewelry shop in town which for a long time had a sign outside saying, "come inside to see the beauty of Amber" :lol

The trip wasn't a complete success. I didn't complete the walk owing to getting lost while going through a wooded section :blush Still I had a decent walk, and managed to get some decent photos, so it's all good :)

Image

A black bird, I think. It might be a Crow or a Rook.

Image

While I was walking through the woods a butterfly landed in front of me and was good enough to stay still long enough for me to capture this shot.

Those photos are so wonderful....they are so well done... I absolutely love the pic of Blackwell Scenery...it almost reminds me of a little village or something. And the butterfly is beautiful! I can't believe it sat still for you to take its picture. I was just thinking the other day, how I hardly ever see butterflies anymore... When I was a kid I used to see them all the time, the little white ones, but now it's rare. I saw one the other day and it made me realize just how fast the world is changing. Jeanne will looooove the sleeping duck!

Firstly it turns out the blackbird is in fact a raven :blush Well, I'm a physicist, not an ornithologist.

Emmas: Glad you like them

And the butterfly is beautiful! I can't believe it sat still for you to take its picture.

I was pretty surprised too. All while I was setting the picture up I kept thinking it would fly away. But it just stayed there, obviously thinking, "I'm ready for my close up now, Mr DeMille."

Jeanne: Thanks :D Glad you like the duck.

DelWhicker: That was you? Damn, I whish I'd known.

Cecile: Thanks :) The walk went okay, just not in the way I origionally planned.

It was pretty amazing the duck managed to stay on the rock like that.

SJ: Thanks, Glad you like the pics

I'm going to go on a walk along the Chesterfield Canal today. Assuming I don't get lost, or fall in, I'll be back later with photos (maybe the odd duck just for Jeanne :) )

I tried to get the duck as it jumped into the lock, unfortunately it went out of the shot.

Hope you liked them

Hey. Just stopped by this thread and wanted to say that I liked your photos. When I got to the "Don't feed the ponies," my first thought was, of course, "bid, scary, arm-biting horses." Then, the "Willow Cottage" one.

This next part is just me being partially insane, but maybe you should rearrange the photos so you have the Willow one first and then the Horse one. Kinda like setting up the punchline type of thing for T/W fans. :)

But seriously, nice photos. It's so different where you are than from me. No castles or villages here. Nice to see what other people get to see. Thanks for sharing.

SJ: Thanks, glad you like them.

Anna: There definitely is something mysterious and other worldly about old castles. Thanks

Barb: Thanks :)

Willow: Thanks for the comments. I switched the pictures around as you suggested :)

Glad you liked them

Ces: Glad you like the pictures. Don't worry I'll keep going on these walks so I can get plenty more pictures.

And to answer your question :p

I said this picture was for Barb, but it's for Jeanne as well.

I hope you both like it ;)
