Helping Heather. Knowing I've made a difference in her life has made me happy in a way that I don't think I'll be ever again.

When was the last time you hugged someone?

club them over the head and drag them back to my cave.

oh, you were serious? well, i usually get my foot in the door with my sense of humor and/or smartiepantsness. then i pay a lot of attention to everything they say, what kind of drink they order on our first date, what kind of flowers they linger on while smelling, etc., and over time i do thoughtful (not stalkery) things to let them know i paid attention (bring them their favorite flowers, order their drink, take them to their favorite restaurant) all the while being my usual charming self. chicks seem to dig that. then after most of that effort my insecurities kick in and i find a million things about them to fixate on and not like and start the whole blasted thing over with someone else. i'm working on that last part.

what was the best gift you got as a kid?

Two years ago I went to my best friend's Halloween party dressed up as my mom. Everything I wore was hers except for the undergarments (cuz...eeewww). It was scary though...I looked just like her! Though, I shouldn't complain, she's gorgeous.

"imitation of life" and most dying-best-friend-type movies.

in the same vein:

what music can always make you weepy?

ETA: ack. too slow.

grief... i'm usually very practical at first, taking care of what needs to be done and everyone. then i melt down when no one's looking and wallow it in privately.

There's one particular song that makes me cry everytime I hear it, whether I have PMS or not. "Rain" by Patty Griffin off of 1,000 Kisses.

Along the same lines....

What song or kind of music always makes you happy?
As one, they turn to the soda machine. It flies back into the door like a cannonball. Willow looks at it, at Tara. She doesn't let go of her hand.

I'm quite amenable and laid back, and I don't get angry easily. I'd like to be able to get angry, and stick up for myself more, rather than just apologising at the time and resenting it later.

Similarly, which of your bad qualities would you trade?

My 'take no nonsense' attitude can be a little too 'take no nonsense' at times and I hold grudges if people hurt me. I would trade that to be a little more forthcoming with the benefit of the doubt.

My mom is the greatest person in the world and as I've gotten older we've gotten to be closer friends as well as mother-daughter. She's very fun-loving, has a lot to say about current events, and clearly loves me, my sisters, and her grandchildren (my nieces) soooooooooo much. I love spending time with her.

whitewater rafting. i'm a wicked big chicken about anything even remotely dangerous, and when we had to sgn the waivers acknowledging that we could get hurt and/or DIE, i might have had just a little panic attack. but i did it and it was terrifying and awesome all at once.

if money were not an option, would you take a trip into space?

Oddly enough, the smell of coffee makes me want to vomit. As does the smell of rice crackers. Which I think kind of smell like vomit anyway.

Well, that was pleasant, wasn't it? :p

I do have a garden, but not a vegetable one (although I grow some rosemary, rasberries and black currants). I have a perennial flower garden which I love to work on every summer. I have lots of lilacs and peonies and trumpet vine and roses and butterfly bush and blackeyed susans and columbine and violets and iris and clematis... and this horrible japanese bamboo stuff that I cannot get rid of :(. This summer I am trying out nasturtiums under my dogwood tree,

Bitterness Id say is my weakness. Or jealousy. I can't seem to let certain thing's about my past go. Even though it's been over year, there's just so many thing's I still think about. Im jealous over the people who have what I always wanted. And Im bitter that thing's didn't work out for me.
