Okay, I mention them enough, it's only fair that everyone gets to see what my sweet little nieces actually look like.

Aren't they just sooooo adorable? :x

I'll try to find some more recent ones, these are a few years old. Might find some more cutie toddler-y ones too. :D

Jea, they are beautiful. I love the red hair. I really feel like bursting into song here in a good way. Can anyone guess what song comes to mind?

Yes yes, she's already rehearsing to play Annie - she practices the songs all the time :D She has the sweetest singing voice. :x

& Emms, to answer your previous question - the older one is my Kookle-doo & the baby is my Tigger-bee. :D

Okay, I think we need a little break from the photos, & I have a poem that I'd like to share. & yes, I know that this is a photo thread, but well, it's title is 'snapshots of my world' and, that's what this is, it's just, a lyrical snapshot, rather than a photographic one. Besides which, I don't have enough decent poems to start a poetry thread. :)

Pencil & Paper
(written by me - 23-6-06)

I don't have the skills of an artist,
I can't create beauty with paints
And my best attempt at sculpture
Is a junk model robot and a mouse made of clay.
I'm not much use with a camera,
Mostly mediocre pictures of ducks,
But give me a pencil and paper,
And I'll write you a thing of beauty.

I can't play an instrument for chocolate,
Maybe twinkle twinkle on a toy keyboard,
And though I do enjoy singing,
I'm usually way off key.
Don't know how to read or write music
Though I surely have tried to learn,
But give me a pencil and paper
I'll write you a tale with melody.

I'm not one for public speaking,
Don't have a way with spoken words,
Try to verbalise my thoughts,
But I'm not too articulate,
I stutter and stammer and mumble,
Syllables lost in a maze of words.
But give me a pencil and paper
And I'll bear my very soul.

I'm not an artist.
I'm not a musician.
I'm not a speaker.
But give me a pencil and paper
And I can be all three.

Okay, now be honest, & please tell me if it sucks. :paranoid

hugs
Jeanne

Jea...I think you know what I'm going to say. (But just in case you don't...)

Wow... I didn't know you were a poet! What a raw, soul-bearing-- with a touch of sweetness, poem! I love the flow and the innocent way it rhymes--Not bold or overdone. Not trying too hard. Perfect.

for example, here:

I'm usually way off key...
I'll write you a tale with melody....

Very beautiful, girly. :pray And this is me, so hoping you'll share your other poems with us.

:blush Wow, people actually liked my poem. Wow! That's cool, & kinda overwhelming. :sigh
Thank you all for your kind words, they made me feel all warm inside :)

Okay, as I'm sure you all know, I went down to London this weekend, & while I was there, my sweetie & I visited Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens, and I have LOADS of photos that we took to share. :D In fact, there's so many, that I don't think they'll fit in one post, so, I'll be posting them in uhm, themes.

'What's the first theme, Jea?' I hear you ask......

I'm pretty sure you could guess* ;-)

Image

Image

Image
Now this one, I was particularly proud of - isn't it cute how the baby is looking back to talk to his mommy? :x

Image
I'm not usually so fond of geese, but I just couldn't resist theses little babies :D

Image
My honey thought this ones little 'hair do' was funny & cute. :)

...*it was ducks by the way :D.

Hope you like them. & I'm sorry about the sizes, I can't figure out how to adjust them to decent sizes.

Jea,

Hehe, can never go wrong with ducks.

Gotta say I'm partial to the one with the 'doo.

Great job!!

Heehee! Ducks and some geese! How sweet. :D I like the first one with the pretty purple flowers (purple is my favorite color) I can't tell what kind of flowers they are though... for some reason I want to say Daffodil (that's probably not right)

and the second one with the swans... Mmm lovely...

And the third one with the baby duck talking back to his mommy... he looks like he's sassing her. :lol I think he needs a time out. :D

I also like the one with the mommy and daddy goose and all their babies (or perhaps it's an alternative family.. maybe it's Mommy and Mama goose and their babies :D )

Aww, I'm glad everyone liked the duckies :D They were cute weren't they?

Anna - Indeed, you can never go wrong with duckies :D
Emms - I'm not sure what the purple flowers were (purple's my favourite colour too), but they certainly weren't daffodils. :) & I don't think the baby duck was sassing his mommy, besides, he's way too cute to be given a time out.
& the geese could well have been an alternative family, it certainly looks like there's 2 mommy geese.
Del - Well, I thought the sizes were all wrong, but, if you say they were okay, then that's okay :)
Barb - Thanks sweetie, glad you like them. :)
SJ - thanks
Vale - Duckies! :D

Okay, the next theme of the London photos, is statues & statue-esque features.

First, here's Peter Pan...

& this is a cutie water fountain, with some little hugging bears on the top of it.
Image

Image

& this, is actually a clock tower, but, it didn't fit in with any of the other 'themes' so, it's here instead. :blush
Image

& again, I'm sorry about the sizes, I honestly can't figure out how to adjust the sizes. :paranoid
