I turned 14 just a little while ago and I'm a lesbian. 'N out to three of my closest friends and all my online friends except one.



As for being single.... Very not single. As of last night. I guess digging up the nerve to ask her out after three years was worth it!







I feel REALLY young compared to most of you! 14 compared to 20... *frown*

I was thrilled to find this thread. I thought there was only a couple "baby's" like me on the thread. I'm 15 and at least bi-sexual (so I half count). Although with all the crap that's going on being a teen I'm still confused to what the full nature of my sexuality is. Luckily I have a few bi-sexual friends (we point out hot girls together and such, it's really fun) to help me along. And Gay Straight Alliance at school is absolutely great. I'm out (as being bi) mostly. All my girl friends know and the only reason some of my guy friends dont is because a situation to tell them hasn't come up. I actually got the nerve to admit it to some girls in my drama class last year when they were asking about GSA and my sexuality. I was quite proud. So just thought I'd stop in it's great to see there's plenty of others out there

Hey all, just found this thread. I'm 16 and i guess technecally Im bi but im definately more attracted to women, fell in love with 2 (bad experiences sadly), only had a bitty crush on a guy or 2. The whole coming out to family and friends has definately been kinda easy, everyones all cool, and theres a support group called manchester outright here so its all good.

good to see all the young people here, always seems so lonely when everyones just scattered about.

Its nuts how much Tara reminds me of me, maybe in college i'll get a group of super close friends and have some wonderful person fall in love with me... doubtful...

I guess I always thought the option was there. I came out of the closet as bisexual over the summer when I was thirteen but this year I have discovered that I would rather look at a lamp for hours than a guy (no offence!!). I mean...there is that VERY SMALL possibility that some guy could work so well with me I would be attracted to him.

It's been cool to meet and talk to all the young lesbians and bi's on the board, as i said before i live in surrey a very wet and boring place somewhere near london. And because im 14 i cant join any lbg groups in my area...which sucks! So im glad i started the post, its been great seeing so many different gays from different places... also me being the only lesbian in my school (which is a catholic one... ) and so i go back to my dull single life... yey me.

I just turned 22 on the 5th!
It's amazing to see so many young kittens out there that realize who they are and are ok with it, or working on accepting it. I only came out two years ago. I feel way behind the times in comparison to the rest of y'all. I know it's gotta be tough to be dealing with the issue of coming out at such a young age, but I feel like I lost all those years since I came out/realized when I was 20. So consider yourselves lucky to know who you are and to have the time to start living your life.

I absolutely love the 'grass is greener...' thing. Lesbians who have been out since they were young tell me they wish they had waited longer to find out who they were(some, I mean), and you feel like those years were lost... Self discovery is an interesting process. Even through all those years, you discovered things about yourself... Just not your sexuality. Don't feel so bad... I have it the opposite, and really sometimes wish I found out later.

I've been out to my mother and my best friend since I was 12. Mostly, anyway. Mom knew throughout the entire process what my sexuality was at any given time. I came out as Bi at 12, then gay at 13, then Bi at 14, then gay at 15... And I've stuck with that. The whole reason for the flip flop... well, hormones mostly, but also, my "supportive" mother also didn't like the idea of me "limiting" myself to just girls. She basically condoned and told me to sleep with whoever I wanted so I could find out for myself... But yeah.

Sometimes I wish I hadn't found out so young, so I could've had a somewhat "normal" teen dating life, since being shy and lesbian isn't exactly conduicive to a good dating life. I'm 18 now and STILL having issues.

I do qualify for young lesbian though... 18 IS young, right???

It's cool reading through the 3-year-old posts and seeing there were so many lesbians my age out when i was coming out at 14, but it also makes me sad that i didn't know any of them. i was already on the kitten by then, but even though i love it here, i've never really made any kitten-friends, and it would've been especially nice back then, when i was the only lesbian i knew and felt quite alone. but it's been 3 years now, and life's better. even if i am single and just found out my only ex has a boyfriend now.

but yeah, out and proud, and still fairly young. nice to know i'm not the only one on here! i usually feel very young on this board, seeing all the 20-somethings, 30-somethings, and older...but i guess i'll be 18 in about 6 months, so i'm not THAT young anymore:)
