Let's see how long the bandwidth holds. i ripped my own file, it's a little dark in parts:

gryphon download

It's like 650 megs or something.

If anyone has like download restrictions and would still like to check it out, i have a very crappy version at like 160 megs, if you're interested let me know.

Whedon.info now has a second page of screencaps from "Gryphon" and this page has the naked Amber back one which is screencap #44 along with some more close-ups of Amber in all her smudgy-face goodness.

Thanks for the caps, gang. Based on these, as well as the enthusiastic reviews ;-) thus far, I ain't holding out much hope when I catch it tonight. Nor am I holding my breath for "Gryphon II: Electric Boogaloo."

(I mean, really. I know it's set Many Many Moons Ago, when styling products had not walked the Earth yet, but jeez, when these guys can't make Amber Benson look good.... :happy ...)

While Gryphon wasn't a good film, for a Saturday night made for Sci Fi channel it wasn't THAT bad. Amber did all right, the story started off poorly but once you accept the sort of D&D adventure style it also wasn't that bad. Certainly it was better than the D&D movie, which was bloody awful. I have to agree that the Gryphon FX were horrible and pretty amusing, but I did like the scenery and setting. As long as one has low expectations based on what it is for, Sci Fi Channel Saturday night, it is at least watchable.

I find that I have to add something.

As much as I didn't like the first viewing, I did watch it again last night. The second time was much better since I was approaching it with no expectations. I could watch for details and I did see a little more to like. While, there is certainly no Emmy in the future, it was a little more fun, if for no other reason than the camp value of it.

Oh, and naked back, again. Woof!

I was extreamly dissappointed by "Gryphon." The acting was wooden, the plot left something to be desired the dialoq was off, and the special effects was not up to par. Even Amber's stiff performance shocked me because I've seen her deliver complex emotionally powerful performances in previous works. Amber still looked great though in all that armor. Made me think of Joan of Arc. Hopefully she'll make another sword and sorcerey movie in the future. :pride

Just wanna thank xita and molsongrrrl for the download. Although I must admit that I'm slightly disappointed about the TV/movie.

Well I watched it.

I have seen far worse. This would have been good flick, in 1983.

It was silly entertainment, but my expectations were really low. It was sub-par even for a SciFi channel flick. The script was just bad and full of bad S&S cliches. Epic quest for a weapon, must be put together, warring kingdoms...think this was an episode of "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe".

Oh well. Better luck next time Amber. At least Supernatural was good.

Nonsense. "Return of the Jedi" was a lot better than that. I grant you, "Gryphon" was about on a par with "Superman III"...

I would follow Amber nay into the very pits of hell itself if she bade me for I can deny chicks in chainmail nothing.
The Sci-Fi Channel know who's the selling point for the DVD and it bloody well isn't the Gryphon.

That's the amazon.com link for ordering "Gryphon" but for those kittens averse to corporate patronage, I'm sure it'll be available elsewhere.

For anyone who is interested and would like to know, this movie IS available on DVD. The only reason I know is because I rented it and watched it last night on DVD from my local video store. (Which by the way they'd never had any of the movies she's been in before which is such a travesty. I know because I'd looked.) I'm not sure where you'd look to find it but any Movie Gallery should have a copy since thats where I rented it from. Don't really know about buying it yet, since it was only available to rent there.

Am I the only one that didn't care about the story, the dialogues, the special effects... just the fact that I could see Amber in armor kicking ass for about 90 min was all I was asking for... I had a hard time concentrating on anything else going on around... too busy staring at dirty/sweaty Amber...
