I've been looking everywhere for that pic. I even made some phone calls around, about 3 years ago, and still can't find it.

I loved that poster (even before I loved Tara :shock) and I am disappointed that there is no information about it to be found anywhere - not even here :happy

A most worthy cause...

...and some ex pics of Amber & Aly, plus Eliza D., Clare Kramer, Summer Glau (I was hoping for some of Jewel Staite and Amy Acker...)

Thanks for the link!

The auctions are over and the Amber and Alyson bears went for over 400 dollars (and all in a good cause).

Willow and Tara as M&M's

Postby Kendahl897 » Mon Feb 19, 2007 6:01 pm

OK, M&M has this great new feature on their website, where you can turn yourself or other characters into M&M's. On the website, they've done Joan and Melissa Rivers. I've tried to do it, but alas, I don't have flashpoint or fast enough speed (still in the dark ages). Anyway, anyone out there want to try doing our two favorite girls? I'd love to see what they look like. We could see where it takes us, and maybe start doing Kittens.. The link is below

I had to try... Willow's eyes aren't right, but they were the best option, I think. Someone else can probably do better.

I thought the half smiles they had on there were kinda creepy, so I didn't use them. But thats just a matter of opinion.

Oh my god! It would be hard to describe the level of love I have for m&ms but I'll try. Let's put it this way: I spent about 2 years cultivating the skill of being able to identify m&m color by taste ( was about 90% accurate before letting the "skill" lapse). I just created a me as an m&m but the server is too busy to let me download it.

I sort them by color before I consume them . . . .

Cute pics, I tempted to try to copy them for my wall art collection. (None of which is currently posted anyway.)

Here's my pretty sorry attempt at trying to capture the beauty of Willow and Tara within the bodies of M&M's. Lol.

Willow and Tara Merchandise Sales

Postby Kendahl897 » Tue Mar 20, 2007 5:37 am

OK, I'm doing thsi little project at school with my students (might as well make it fun for myself too) and I need a little question answered. My best bet is probably going to be Web Warlock, since he is the master of the facts here at the Kitten :wtkiss . I bow to your superiority ;-)

Question: How do Willow and Tara rank in merchandise sales, especially in comparison to other Buffyverse merchandise? Do their items sell well? Is there a large demand for it?

Re: Willow and Tara Merchandise Sales

Here is the deal with Buffy.

Everyone was expecting this to be the next Star Trek in terms of sales and merchandising.

It wasn't anywhere close.

Some market research I was privy to a couple of years back (when it mattered) here are the rankings of characters with sales. Remember I am just the messenger here.

1. Spike
2. Willow
3. Buffy
4. Tara (Along with Willow and Tara; hard to tease out)
5. Others, mostly Oz and Giles.

Now the Willow and Tara figure sets sold well, and so did the Willow and Tara comics.

Many figure lines were dropped and even the pre-orders were not enough (Xander, Weasly and so on). Some props sold well enough, but again no were near what people thought they would.

Other merchandise is more difficult to track since most people don't divide up the fandom the way fans do (after all no one ever talked about Scotty vs. Sulu sales, or even Kirk vs. Picard really).

Do they sell well?
All in all, most Buffy items were not selling well. The new comic is, but the books are not, the RPG is gone and other comics languish in the bottom rungs. Anything that was going to sell already did and there are no new fans.

I have never been able to get good DVD sales numbers.

As some one who was selling this stuff I came to a few conclusions of my own.

1. Buffy fans are cheap. They don't want to buy stuff. Figures were sold mostly to figure collectors and the RPGs mostly to people that already played RPGs.

2. Buffy fans are factionallized to point of xenophobia. No one wants to buy anything outside of their own thin subset of the fandom (I am a prime example of that).

For what it is worth.

Thank You !!!!

I know the W/T OMWF sets are pretty much sold out everywhere. You can sometimes find them on E-Bay; same with the comics. And Joy did great (to put it mildly) with her W/T prints.

I remember several months ago when I had to call the makers of the OMWF sets to give them a new address. They mentioned some of the new figures (cheap ones) that they were thinking about. I said good luck, because unless you're a hard core collector, these babies weren't going ANYWHERE. My guess is that they will get cancelled before they're ever made.

Yeah, I saw that on Cafe Express. Will probably have to go that route. Thanks!
I used to have a white shirt that had a big Pentangle on the back. Inside the Pentangle was drawn an outline of a woman's high heel and the words "Bitch's Heel" were written circle-like above and below the outside of the pentangle. (I'm a little irreverent.) I miss that shirt and have Never seen that logo again. Jan
