Heather, your letter is far too genteel. Threaten to bust him down to peewee or something, would ya?

Dude, it's not even the first game. Save some of that "motivational fire" for later in the season! Pre-game one is nothing but flowers and candy! Six games in and more INTs than TDs... oh, it will be on.

p.s. Addai is down on the first play of the game. How many fantasy football owners just lost their appetites?

Hey, anyone else out there have a good first-week of fantasy football? Between Peyton Manning, RANDY MOSS, T.J. Housyourmama, and Jason Witten, I racked up a monstrous 125 pts!!! Good enough to put me in 2nd place in our league. EasierSaid - I think you were right on the money with Witten; I think he's going to have a giant year (especially until Glenn returns).

Mrs. Gorn played Tony Romo, so she came in 3rd. Her team was full of rookies, Titans, & Raiders, so I was feeling a little embarassed for her ... until it began looking like she might beat me. All pity left my heart then.

Until they play the Cowboys, I'm happy for all you Bengals, 49ers, & Patriots fans out there.

I definately had a sucky week at fantasy football. All three of my teams lost! But as long as the Bengals won, I'm not complaining.

Alright. I'm not sure if college football is a topic on this thread, but I'm going for it. I saw my first football game today. UGA vs. Western Carolina. And honestly? I absolutely loved it.

Dawgs (my team) won 45-16. I screamed and cheered and woofed and it was awesome. 3rd row, right by the goal line. Great seats and a fun game, despite the fact that it was one of the less watched games. And the experience was amazing. A stadium that holds 92,000 fans, with at least 70,000 of them there today. The sound was huge, and it's crazy being in a sea of red and black. I'm so glad that I decided to go, and I'll definitely be going again. Just color me interested in football. Finally.

Yay for football! It's my favorite sport.

Okay so, I'm a die hard Steeler fan and I've been watching them with my parents since before I was born. I was a little sad to see Bill Cower leave since he's the only coach I've seen Pittsburgh with, but our replacement is not too shabby from what I've seen.

The sad thing is that now that I live in New Orleans I don't get to watch them unless they're playing either the Saints or a team that's broadcasted down here, which is next to never. So I've settled for the Saints because I love football either way and watch it all day on Sunday no matter who is playing.

And I surly cannot forget college ball. I'm a Buckeye all the way because I went to school there. I get to see them on and off because they show on ESPN. (Sweetness for being 2 games ahead of Michigan already!)

Although I did forget how exausting a weekend of watching football, drinking and straying from my diet for two days a week was until that first Monday morning when 4am came way too early.

I confess College Football isn't really my thing, but I say bring it on! Any Football is welcome here (and no, I am not opening the door to Soccer - please see the 1st Post in this thread).

My fantasy team scored another respectable 120pts. last weekend, but I got my ass kicked by a guy who somehow had the foresight to pack his team with Bengals & Browns. Lucky bastard. I felt pretty bad for dlline & woahnellie - it's got to suck to score FOURTY-FIVE POINTS in a single game ... and still lose.

I can't say much except Who-Dey? And yes, it does suck to score 45 points and still lose. Almost as much as it sucks to fumble the last kickoff of the game. This is exactly why it takes really special people to be Bengal fans, right woahnellie?

Congrats to all the winners and for the rest of us....It's only week 3! Not even the end of September yet! Bring it on! (See...that's how the mind of a Bengal fan works.)

My fantasy team squeaked out a victory this weekend (neither my opponent nor myself have any players in tonight's game). I went into the Sunday Night game 13pts down, with just Cedric Benson & Jason Witten left to play. Lucky for me, they both scored TD's - Benson scored his first of the season! It was enough to just barely push me over the hump.

Everyone knew Manning, Moss, & Housyourmama were solid picks, but Witten has been my ace-in-the-whole so far!

Dear Mr. Brees,

I just wanted to let you know that even if the Saints didn't have a bye next week, I'd be starting Jeff Garcia. That's right. You are worse than Jeff Garcia. That's the same Jeff Garcia who couldn't stick as a starter at such powerhouse clubs as the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions. The same Jeff Garcia who was a backup last year. The same Jeff Garcia who, if he played as badly as you, would be released so that a quarterback with no spleen could start. That's how bad you are, Drew Brees. You know who else is better than you this year? Charlie Frye's backup, Derek Anderson. 2007-Kurt Warner. My grandma. All better quarterbacks, than you. Four interceptions? Really? And no touchdowns? Outstanding MNF performance. Really. That's swell.

I hope you enjoy your bye week. I hope you get lots of sleep, watch a lot of film. Really take some time and think about how you could suck less during your next game. And who knows, if you can get through that game with more TDs than interceptions -- or hell, any TDs, and fewer interceptions -- then maybe you can get your starting job back. Until then, $@^@&*^! you and your !)*&#@$(^& negative 6 performance you $@$%&*!^ piece of !$&$W!!)**&.

Sincerely,

Your fantasy team owner

p.s. Thanks for destroying Marques Colston's trade value. $@&@%%*&!

Wow... I think my VERY bitter rant from last week killed this thread. So sorry! I love Drew Brees! And the Saints! Whooo! (Okay, hopefully that reversed this thread's karma...)

No MNF for our household tonight because the Padres are playing for the post-season, and that's the girlfriend's team. So far... not so good, but that's going to change (please, please, change!). The weekend was not great for pro football; Alex Smith dislocated his shoulder, and the corpse of Trent Dilfer proceeded to help Julian Peterson (he of the Seahawks these days, *cry*) have a career day. Dilfer is not mobile, not accurate and basically no longer a NFL QB, except the kind that holds a clipboard and helps young QBs stay focused (a.k.a. higher paid extra QB coach). But he'll be starting for the near future anyway. *groan* Always embarrassing to get spanked by a team you owned the year before, but what are you going to do without your maybe-QB of the future and your definite-LB of the future (Manny Lawson gone for the year with a torn ACL - not good). SD lost, so the girlfriend's football experience wasn't great, and then I barely beat her in our fantasy football league. Nothing to gloat about because it was really close (she could have beaten me with one measly TD) and because I don't like sleeping on the couch. I predict at the end of the year she'll have more wins than me, both in fantasy and real life football. No way the Chargers stay this lost, and with Smith and Lawson out... it doesn't look good for the Niners.

Good luck to all the fans out there tonight. Hopefully it'll be a good game, and both teams will help those playing fantasy in a big way.

ETA: WOOT GRAND SLAM ADRIAN GONZALEZ!!! Yay Padres!

Don't know about this thread's karma, but the Saints have definately lost their mojo. My boss packed his team with Saints & Rams this year, and I don't have the heart to smack-talk him (until he plays me, but even then I might go easy).

Right now I'm watching a pretty grim ROUT of Cincinnati. My heart goes out to all you Bengals fans.

I feel your pain, Bengals Fans ... my Cowboys were on the wrong end of a bad ass-whuppin' today, too.

I'm very grateful for your T.J. Houshmandzadeh, though, as he was my fantasy team's high scorer this week. Gotta love that guy.
